Been quite a busy day here so far. The caravan was filthy not been washed since before we went down to the New Forest and we have had a couple of trips since we came back so about 1500 miles worth of dirt on it. So I moved it out and gave it a good wash itโ€™s amazing the difference it makes itโ€™s now sitting back in its space nice and shiney all ready for our 2 night break away at the end of the week (looking forward to that). After I finished the van I went and collected my classic Merc from its garage and gave it a good clean. Keeping it out just now as it is booked in for its MOT tomorrow. Planning on a relaxing afternoon watching the football.

Just on the telly theme we have a Samsung 42i inch telly now had it for almost 13 years and it has been excellent it was expensive at the time but has been well worth the money. Still going strong

Just a point about Smart tellys.

Be aware that not all tellys have all the popular apps!

Its worth going into a store to play too, as some even known makes can be quite slow. I had one in the conservatory, 43 inch a 4k ultra, gave it to my son when he moved out earlier this year, very slow to load up, but hes happy with it, he has linked it to his internet box thing, it's only the screen hes interested in, but yeah, be app aware.

Brue what did you find? I could only find this

ingredients: purified water and potassium mineral salts. It works by binding to dirt, grease, and grime, lifting and suspending these so they can be safely and easily wiped away.

The big claim is chemical free??

If you have the fully functional Android controlled system then you are a happy bunny without the issues. I know one other person with the Android version(2018 model) he too has the freezing issues & the yellow ball start up is the way it is. I will never get another one, I have a 2019 Samsung without issues, it accepts all 3rd party gadgets too๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Š

Potassium Hydroxide, which may be at low levels so I presume it's OK but it's not something I would use. Apologies to KJ  if I am not sure about this product as it may well be useful.

Summoning up my nerves now for a long overdue visit to the podiatrist tomorrow. I've got a big toenail which has been curving and growing away from the nail bed for some time. Mrs M thinks she's going to suggest something drastic and painful like removing it. I'll have to be brave! Still, I'm a bloke, and we're good with pain aren't we? surprisedsurprisedlaughinglaughing

Not to bad a day today, some blue skies a couple of very light showers but still very windy.

Went to see Mum this morning, as usual on a Sunday, she was sat in the lounge having a nap smile upon hearing our voices woke up with a big smile on her face. Since her health problems when we were away in France, she has been (I think) much better on her feet and not as confused and anxious as she was on medication. Thankfully the home agrees.

Bit of shopping done on the way back home and then a few hours doing nothing.  Cleaned oven after it had a good spray now all gleaming clean.smile

We have 2 Sony tv a 32" and a 40" smart, I was quite happy with the 32" but OH wanted a bigger one and a smart. We've had no issues with either tv's both have good sound and pictures.

We use both David depending on where we are going etc.. The reason for night ferry this trip is leave home at 7pm and down at port having filled up at Morrison (by the dock) checked in and boarding the ferry at 9.30pm.  The ferry is 60,000+ tons so get a very comfortable crossing.  Anyway the night crossing allows us a good nights sleep and on a Sunday not many trucks so we are at the Mosel by 2pm.  If we are staying in Holland we get the day sailing and include the Stena plus lounge. For us less than 50 miles from Harwich canโ€™t see the point of slogging it down to the M25 etc

Terrible weather on the journey, when we went passed Spa it was just like in a F1 race, no visibility due to spray๐ŸŽ

Our 32โ€ Panasonic came with a 5 year warranty, 8 years later hasnโ€™t missed a beat so canโ€™t come up with any reason to change it.

They sell it as eco friendly, but I have no idea!

OH has/had an armoury(?) of products and the HG Grease Away, which she likes and is very effective  on grease, leaked and ruined the surface on our Beech worktops, so she was not amused!

Fortunately the wooden tops can be sanded down and refinished.

This stuff seems less toxic/abrasive/damaging to more delicate surfaces, and very effective, so we are trying it out, results so far are good, and it certainly seems to be reasonably user friendly, unlike the bleach that W&M is using!

There is only so much that you can achieve with soap,  water, and "elbow grease", so this seems a reasonable alternative to some other, stronger, products, certainly we and DD are OK with the results so far.

Proof will be in whether we decide to buy a further supply, the jury is still out.

Another poor day weather wise, with frequent heavy showers interspersed with a few dry periods and some drizzly ones. The sun eventually came out in the late afternoon. Didn't do much apart for a drive over to Keswick and a couple of walks, but kept out of the town centre. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

We were at DD's today, they had a free pass to the Glasgow Science Centre so we all went there, little Callum had a great time pressing buttons and trying out all the various things.

Later we checked out her plans for her utility room revamp....all looks good.

    Nowt much.

Ordered my laptop, pick up Saturday, from York! Spent a couple hundred more than intended, best do the job now!

1 hour on the rowing machine, bum went numb, even after using my rowing cushion.

Bothered number 1 son on hols in Cornwall for photos, WhatsApp brilliant.

Bed for a bit of sleep to return once again to night shift mode.

Now in garage sorting pushbike out, and away I go, work bound.

It's a good job my actual shift has me on break for three and a half hours every night, couldn't cope otherwise! 22 years of sleeping on the job, ๐Ÿ˜

Been a lovely day here at Zell am Mosel, 25C with a slight breeze.  Went shopping at Globus Hypermarket also filled up car, diesel ยฃ1.08/ltr equivalent.  Walked into town, wandered through narrow streets, enjoyed an ice cream whilst watching the river traffic.  After dinner went and had a look at the new Moselle bridge which will be complete this year.  The bridge has been under construction for 7 years, is over 500 feet high and stretches for over a mile. We have been watching it grow for over 5 years now.

Good to see that you're back of form, WN. Hope that you manage to get an undisturbed nights sleep tonight.

After even more rain through the night we've had a virtually dry day thankfully. Drove round to Cockermouth this morning to visit William Wordsworth's House, then after lunch we went onto Isel Hall which stands on a steep slope above the winding River Derwent. Following an introductory talk by the hall's current owner we had a very interesting guided tour led by one of a troop of volunteers. The place is certainly worth a visit if anyone is staying in the area, but ensure that you go on a Monday afternoon as it's only open then, from April to September. On the way back to the van Flyte and I took in one A Wainright's outlying Fells, Binsey, a rapid up and down, just getting back to the car before a heavy shower!surprised This is our last night at Caldbeck before we head on down to Newby Bridge for the last couple of day of this trip.

Good morning all. Hope everyone is well.

Had an out of body experience during the night. Woke up and found myself positioned corner to corner as opposed to straight down the middle. But what was weird was the lack of any pain. Blisssmile

    Then I moved.

    However I can smell normality

That's good to hear WN, I had a better night too, no over heating for once which was lovely (this virus? has played havoc with me.) Do hope you continue to improve, a slow process no doubt.

We had an early morning call (not the alarm) from our Norwegian travellers, they had forgotten the time difference! Early calls always make me jump.

Enjoyed reading Nellie's post, every time we go to the Lakes we say we'll go and look at WW's house and spend a few hours in the town still haven't done it yet! Isel Hall is also new to me so will look that one up, thanks Nellie. Hope you enjoy the final part of your trip.

Thanks also to Oneputt, I'm the ultimate armchair traveller just now. smile

    Hi Brue.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I was thinking about you yesterday. I do empathy well.smile

It will be a slow improvement but fortunately shouldn't have any long term effects, apart from me getting hysterical every time I see a ladder. I was able to pass up the chance of Tesco shopping today, so some good news.

I agree about Nellie's post. Brought back memories for Mrs WN who visited WW's house when she was about 12 when staying with her aunt and uncle.

It has been good for uplifting the spirits to read of peoples adventures.

We're hoping to get a resolution to our ongoing caravan problem pretty soon. If it's a positive one then it will give us something to do over the next couple of months in picking a new caravan. There aren't that many out there that have a layout that we fancy, having always had an end kitchen in the nigh on 30 years of caravanning and they are dying out. I daresay that whatever we choose we'll have to be putting our hands in our pockets.

Best wishes to Oneputt as well. Are the German children back at school now?
