What are you all up to

We have something similar (I think, as I can't see your link!) it takes off very thin slivers, I use it on very hard cheeses too like Parmigiano etc.
Edit
Ah yes found it on Amazon...yes KJ, it's exactly the same and very useful!

Yes, I am useless at links!
Good to hear you have one, thin slivers are best.
We have several of these things, but the one my Mum gave me when I left home in 1967 is still the best one as it does nice thin slices.
We found an interesting type in Holland that grates the cheese as you slice, excellent for Parmesan and other hard cheeses.

I have edited your link which seems to work. The problem with cutting a pasting, especially Amazon links is that they are so long. If you are using a laptop or PC I would suggest using the option of inserting the link using the link symbol above where you type, that way you can call it a cheese cutter and that is all that will appear as I have done to your post above.

The post arrived just before lunchtime.
You may recall we had to cancel our forthcoming ferry due to my accident and ongoing problems with the caravan. I cancelled with about 3 weeks to sailing. I didn't intend to claim on the insurance as we couldn't have travelled anyway due to the state of the ''van. However, in the post was a voucher for 75% of the fare from Brittany Ferries. Unsolicited. We can use it anytime in the next 2 years. A really nice gesture and it cheered us up.

Very warm here today. Did a bit of gardening after walking to the post office to post daughters birthday card and then took the car food shopping but too hot and very little room in either of our 2 brown bins so must have made some progress over the last week. 😂
Brue that cheese looks, and the taste sounds, interesting!
Wherenext really good news on your Ferry cancellation, should be plenty of time for recovery - trust you're progressing?, and you getting your caravan sorted.
Helenandtrevor good to hear from you, was wondering about your radio silence 😂 glad you're keeping busy and enjoying your well deserved break.
Good to read all posts, cant remember whos pisted what my brain gets very addled these days! Folks seem to be occupied gainfully including you milliehull - I'm sure you'll have plenty to learn about being a cathedral guide, I checked on the Gaia exhibition online sadly won't get to see it.
Had a great day out Tjursday with friends, was to be Frinton on Sea but forgot Clacton air show was on, traffic queuing up the slip road 😲. Instant decision to rejoin the carriageway and journey on to Harwich. Very quite, lots of history, good mooch and nice pub meal.
I'm sitting in the shade having catch up on here and with podcasts. Don't know about others but I think it's beginning to feel autumnal already 😢. We have no new broods of birds but plenty of visits, 9 sparrowsintge birdbath at once 😃 and only 2-3 fatballs are being eaten per day phew the budget can cope again 😉.Managed to catch sight of a visiting hedgehog for last 2 or 3 evenings, not sure if it's the same one, we always know we've had visitors as food, safe from cats and foxes, has always gone overnight and calling cards are left!
Whatever you're doing enjoy it

Very changeable day with great highlights and possibly some lowlights for some unfortunate folk.
The site we are on is 3,100 feet high so when we walk the only way is up. Managed a 5 hrs walk in which we gained about another 2000 feet, not bad for old uns., views in all directions stunning. Stopped for ice cream an shandy which made the last 20 bearable. Got to van all sorts of sirens blasting on the road then 3 air ambulances arrived, 2 have now departed, hope those injured recover quickly.
Whilst that was going on we had Donner Und Blitzen followed by torrential rain. 💦⚡️☔️ Poor paramedics must have had a tough time. We managed to get closed up before the deluge.
WN what a piece of good fortune you could use it on a long crossing to Spain.

That cheese looks delicious!
Hedge is down, stumps still to get out, but that’s another day, way too hot to do more today. Filthy job, so it’s going to be a tepid Bath for me next.
Safe travels to all those heading off or currently away. Brave souls doing it on a BH weekend.

Love Norwegian brown cheese used to have it just about every lunch time when I worked in Stavanger, but that was a long time ago.
B2 the sirens started before the rain came down.
Just extended our stay in Bavaria by a couple of days so now I have to find a plan B. Might give Italy a miss and drive North again staying at Prumtal by Bitburg, 👍🏻 or then again probably not😂😜

Much nicer day here today, warmer 23c lots of jobs done today.

OH, was up on the roof fitting a new antennae control box, all channels now working perfect, picture perfect and we've got even more channels
next job for him was to set up the caravans new TV and the satellite dish, all working ok. Then it was onto the caravan's plumbing, he has separated out the kitchen and bathroom sinks waste pipes. All the waste pipes are now individual pipes, they drain much better now.
In between me helping him, I did 2 loads of washing, hoovered and steamed the carpets throughout the house, cut the grass and strimmed the edges, weeded and hoed the front garden and pruned the roses, phew I'm feeling tired.

Glad to hear brue and WN are feeling better.
WN good news about your ferry, did you book it direct with BF or through the club?
0 -
Tg, we booked it through the club, getting a cheaper fare with ITX (which we can't use now).
The voucher can only be used by booking direct with BF even though it was sent via the club.
We'll have to see if savings worthwhile but I might use it for a quick trip to see my brother who lives in Brittany. A pleasant surprise.

Been a strange few days. On Thursday evening Margaret broke a front tooth. It was actually a crowned tooth but we think the actual remains of the tooth has broken! Next day we trot off to the dental practice we have used for 40 years (private practice). After an hour and a half she had not been seen so we decided that we would chance our luck an return on Tuesday when our dentist was back from holiday. When we phoned them later I think they had realised we had not been treated very well so on Tuesday we have a proper appointment rather that an emergency.one. Because its a front tooth Margaret is very embarrassed! We are due to go away soon so we have no idea how long it will take to sort out so we risk becoming CMC cancellation statistics!
Today I was invited by my eldest son to a football match at Stadium MK with his father in law who comes from Brazil. It was a bit of a local derby as we were playing Peterborough. Unfortunately they completely outclassed the MK Dons and we went down to a 4-0 defeat. All this in punishing 31 degree heat! I think I put a jinx on any football match I watch live! I doubt I will go to another live match unless its MK Dons v Southampton. At least that way I will be happy with who ever wins!!!

Glorious day, so it's silage time once again. Yesterday I baked a load of cakes to put in lunch boxes (plainish and travel proof - no fancy decorations).
As soon as the shops open I'm off to Booths at Kirkby Lonsdale to stock up with cold meat and pies etc.
Then this afternoon daughter, middle grandson and aged dog arrive for a few days.
Hopefully there will be time ti sit out on the patio and read/rest.

Nice photo Goldie. Farming is a constant occupation 😉 and like the rest of life so much nicer when the weather cooperates! Have a great time with the family.
Milliehull and DavidKlyne I expect our DIL celebrated yesterday's win. The previous week son and DIL went to watch the game at Peterborough against Ipswich. He's always loved his football, and team physio was his aim - but an internship helped him decide against it, luckily it was a draw 😉. I had said how what was he going to do if Ipswich scored/won? His reply was contain myself! I knew they had seats in the home stand 😂😂
Another bright and warm start to the day here, sun breaking through. Been another heavy dew and you can feel the season beginning to turn........
Enjoy your day folks.

Glorious start to the day, again , it is expected to be even hotter than yesterday,,the family who arrived yesterday said they were expecting to see more free roaming animals ,but as we said they are not stupid and are in the shade of the forest, but that means there are not the "tempory"road blocks on the forest roads there would be if it was cooler
