Very stressful day today! Dentist this morning, no real problem but she more or less forced me to make a hygienist appointment which I've managed to put off for some time and "oh, we've had a cancellation for this afternoon"! So a hundred quid down on the day and I've got to go back for more of the same!
Still........
Went to fetch the van from storage when I got back ready for our trip to Forest of Dean next week. Got a bit of cleaning and polishing to do to get rid of the streaks gathered from when we came back last time!
All we need to do now is sit out tomorrow's promised rain and Saturday's gale force winds and we'll be ready for some nice summery weather!

Sorry to hear you and HD aren’t too great at the moment brue, best wishes to you both.
We decided to have a bit of a lazy day today, but OH did the lovely little motor museum in Moretonhampstead, while I had a look around some of the shops. Then we dipped into North Bovey Church. Very wet here this evening, foretaste of big storm to come I think. Could be Soakehampton for us tomorrow if wet. Bit of museum visiting, retail therapy........

So sorry to hear that you have had to cancel your planned trip to Norway brue. How dissppointing. Glad you have managed to pass the tickets on. I hope you get your BP sorted out soon. Take care. Enjoy seeing your son and grand-dog bakers2. Hope the weather lets you have some nice walks with her. Hope you get a swift appointmemt at the diabetic clinic HD.. We have been having a lovely week whilst at Houghton Mill. Anglesey Abbey on Tuesday, some nice walks by the river yesterday, one in the morning and another in the evening. Wimpole Hall walled garden today where the dahlias were amazing. We are now hoping we can weather the storms forecast for the next 2 days.

Beautiful day today up here. We had a pleasant walk round to another cove where we sat for lunch watching the odd angling boat in the distance, Gannets diving after fish and a pair of Ravens doing ariel aerobatics...bliss. It was still fine, sunny and warm enough after dinner this evening to sit outside, the only sounds were the receding tide washing the shoreline, House Matins chirruping as they chased their dinner and the doleful cry of a Curlew over the water. The night drew in with a blood red sky lightening up the Irish coastline, and a large sailing yacht bobbing on it's mooring in the bay.

Understand how you feel about ******, *******, viruses brue -- had one a while back { you all may remember Brian snivelling over his keyboard } they can be the very ********* to shake off - normally it's just time and more time grrrr ! But hope you can do better than I did
As for you Huskypup, I still work on the older ( Imperial
?? ) figures and had to find my diary to check on your modern stuff .
31 to 42 equates to 5 to 6 in old money, and for the HbA1c figures that is good, but 86 is approx my figure of 10, and Nursey would have her footy boots on waiting for me if my figures were around there
The worst I've done over the past six years is 72 and that's after Christmas where I tend to be a little more sedentary than is good for me. Normally I'm in the low to mid 60s when Nursey only tweeks my nose or ears

P.S.
Huskypup -- I'm not criticising you in any way, shape or form obviously 'cos I am a long long way down the trail - around 30 years a member of Diabetes UK and being single it can be the very devil to look at a meal and only eat half and dump the rest !! then when I should be taking the exercise I'm too bloomin' full

You are getting some lucky weather. Last night we had a foretaste of what’s expected this evening. We are close to 1000ft above sea level, so it’s going to be interesting. Lots of Ravens here as well, love watching them tumble, and the “cronk, cronk” as they fly over.😁

I have an appointment with the Diabetic clinic at the end of the month to talk me through it , now iv'e started looking at sugar levels in food and its quite interesting just how much sugar is in foods that you wouldn't have thought , interesting times ahead

Husky, there's a wealth of information here 🔽. It’s worth having a good read through.

It’s quite a lot to read but it’s good to learn and understand.

Good luck husky. I am sure you will get lots of advice from the diabetic clinic. It is quite an eye opener once you start reading the food labels!!
After torrential rain overnight here it is now dry, sunny, very hot and very windy. It is like standing under a giant hot air fan heater.

Lovely morning after last night heavy rain although ground on our grass pitch does not seem any softer, a bit breezy now with more showers
Had very interesting conversation at dish wash area this morning, with a German and Dutch members and both hoped Boris sticks to his guns , and they wish both their leaders would listen to their populations instead of other leaders, mostly those who get the most money out of the EU
I know this post will be Deleted User but

Brian - I wasn't expressing an opinion one way or the other (although I do have very clear views on the subject, not for this forum though!
)
I just meant that they must be sick and tired of all the prevarication and game playing which our esteemed leaders have been so guilty of on both sides!

Now back to THE IMPORTANT THINGS :--
Sitting on here adding a few sillinesses as is my wont, then the sun came out followed by crash bang and very heavy rain in South Cheshire. All this has done is reminded Brian to get his Wellies out and checked over for the trip down Salisbury and Dorset way on Wednesday
!!
Dammit, Dorset is the only place I go to in the knowledge that, should it rain, it will become almost impossible to walk round and yet I still insist on going there -- really there must be something in the water supply
!!
P.S. sorry for the opening shout but I don't want anybody to miss it

Grandtwins returned home and order now restored to the Putt household. Yesterday we decided to take them to Thrigby Hall wildlife park. Didn’t get passed Yarmouth and sat in traffic for nearly an hour. The haven bridge got stuck, all the police disappeared and chaos ensued. Anyway, not disheartened we drove South to Kessingland to Africa Alive. Children thoroughly enjoyed and my wallet duly lightened

Very wet here this morning but not as bad as other's have suffered. it started to dry up a bit this afternoon so we went out to do a few things. The rivers are running high and fast but not up to there limit, Yet!
A day of getting admin sorted OH did that, me I did my ironing and finished off a bit of sewing on the machine. OH has now put it away for me and the dinning table once again back to being usable.
It's getting very chilly in the house so might have to put a heater on in the living room tonight.
Hope all those home or away are safe, have a good weekend folks.

What wonderful care you receive from the NHs when emergencies hit you in the face.
Through nobody's fault but my own I ended up in an Ambulance yesterday after having fallen in the garden and landing on a steel structure. Result? At least 4 cracked ribs, a punctured lung and a thorax blockage necessitating a catheter being inserted into my lungs to drain the blood and reduce an air blockage. A long day. Yes there was a long delay in A&E but there were 2 serious road accidents which overloaded the system.
I've received excellent care but looks like I'll be in for a few more days. They've had to work around my underlying kidney disease making my life a bit more painful in order to avoid the Morphine.
Seeing how the staff go about their work makes you appreciate howw precious the NHS is.
Sorry to hear your news Brue. I assume you are taking BP tablets and you may need a lower dosage. Same thing happened to me.
Good luck HD and to all of those on the move today.
