Having a "day off" today, relaxing at home, though no doubt OH will find something for me to do soon!

Yesterday SIL and I finished clearing the side and rear of the garage and tidied up the drive way a bit.  The co-owner (upstairs) has sprayed it with weedkiller, but I reckon it needs another lot now the massive hedge has been cut back, might get that done next week.  It is a huge area....about 10m wide and 30m long, plus another bit about 10m by 5m at the front of the house, all block paved, so takes quite a bit of looking after.

Quite a few weeds in the back garden which will also need to be sprayed before they take over.

Next job is to make a gate between the garage and the fence, and another to divide the area at the back from the neighbour's bit as they have 2 large dogs which are often out there.

Visiting our son and family tomorrow for lunch, DD and Callum are coming with us, SIL is staying home to watch football.......he is a big fan.

Just having a catch up, good to read folks' news.

HelenandTrevor hope Trevor fairing better now, I was curious about the spray. You should have word with the prescriber if only to save someone else 😯. HuskyDog good to hear you mum making progress and shop sale progressing - fingers crossed. Best wishes and speedy recovery to all those unwell and their carers.

My OH making good slow progress, BUT 'we' have colonoscopy this week  as GP wanted to ensure side effects of medication is nothing more serious. Outpatients last week, virtual colonoscopy ( due to implanted ICD) Wednesday 😯 still it'll be out the way quickly! He doesn't want to be 'mauled' any more 😢 which I quite understand. Back to hospital parking issues!

Lovely couple of days with Scottish friends, very relaxing and we picked up where we last left off, as usual,  😂😂. They've moved on Thursday to to camp at Mablethorpe, so wish we could have joined them 😢,  before going back for grandparent duties when the schools start back the week after next. Just enough to brighten us without overtiring either of us. I provided dinner, much later than hoped - due to horrendous 9 hour journey down, last bit overturned caravan closed M11, on Monday, one lunch and easy breakfasts, other meals were taken out and they were good 😀.

    Enjoy yourselves home and away.

Great news on completion of your sons property HelenandTrevor, hope they'll be very happy in their new abode. Exciting times 😀

Hope no one has been affected by the awful wet weather and flooding and if they have been things are sorted quickly. Our visiting friends live in East Ayrshire their daughter called to say the area  seems to have been hit with flooding, not them thankfully, but there's been nothing to little on our news about that area.

B2....our son is in East Ayrshire, and as far as we know they have not had any flooding, and nothing about it on the news up here either.

Just spoke with him, they have had quite a bit of rain off and on, but they are on a hill so no flooding.

He did say the M77 at Kilmarnock was closed earlier in the week due to flooding, but the rain that day totally missed them, they are a bit further NE.

We did find it on BBC and other pages, it was Kilmarnock area A77 closed plus other roads. Yes these roads had been flooded in the days before too.

Yes, found it now on the BBC website, must have been watching something other than news that day!

It does seem to have been very localised as DS is only about 5 miles from Kilmarnock and a couple of miles east of the 77.

Yes friends live in Irvine Valley village, nothing their village thankfully as the river is their boundary! Alerted by their daughter who has property in Kilmarnock - not affected fortunately but she certainly worried her parents for a while 😱

Not so far from our son then.  He has a river both sides of his place, a small farm, not that he farms himself, but he is well above the valleys so  no problems

Moved from Hunter's Moon CAMC site to Bagwell Farm Site just outside Waymouth.  Quite windy here and our pitch is a little small and awkwardly situated.  Toilet blocks good, but the site seems fairly clinical and could be a little better looked after.  Not as good as a CAMC site, IMHO.  Do you ever get to a site and for some inexplicable reason, just don't feel settled?

We are happily in situ at our lovely holiday cottage after a nice run down through Somerset. Had a decent afternoon and a nice estate walk at Lytes Cary Manor on the way down, no hold ups on the last bit of the M5, and did a final stop off for supplies at Bovey Tracey. Now in the back of beyond, somewhere on Dartmoor. Dark Skies indeed!😁

Finally managing to get away in the MH. Off this am to Forest of Dean, initially for three nights and then see where the fancy takes us. Looks like I might need to take wellies for the end of the week though.

Check out Chepstow CY, superb castle, and a nice little town. Car park is down by Castle, we had no trouble parking MH up. Tintern Abbey has a largish car park as well.

Shocking first night here. Total darkness, owls hooting, the odd baa from up on Easton Tor. Woken by our holiday pets (ducks and chickens) having a splash in garden pond, and the neighbours called for a carrot! Gorgeous Hunter, 16.2hh bay, with a smaller chum. Damned ravens are noisy as well.😂😁

We are indeed TG. We hit the big metropolis this morning (Moretonhampstead), in search of a few supplies. Spent the afternoon dodging the more crowded pull in areas, ended up on edge of Merrivale Range, had a bit of a stroll. Then found a lovely little church we haven’t visited before, at Sampford Spiney. We had to breathe in to get down some of the lanes, but we survived. Been a nice afternoon and evening, although dropped cool now. Expecting heavy rain tomorrow, so that could be a day visiting somewhere. We yelled hello to Cornwall in the distance..... 😁

Lots of small campervans and MHs around, but nothing too big.

Thank  you for all the good wishes for Trevor, he had to stop using the steroid drops he was given as they were making it painful. surprised

It's been very warm and muggy here, had a walk along the tow path with the dog, we wanted to see what the new canal side houses were like.  They certainly pack a lot of houses into very small spaces.

Had loads if messages and pictures from youngest son re new house, and work they have started,  talk about excited laughing

Neighbour showed us some photos of the little family of hedgehogs that she has seen in her garden, I've not managed to see them in our garden yet, but we know they have been in as they leave plenty of deposits behind.

We are hoping to collect the MG tomorrow after the respray,  will post pics when all windows etc are back in.

Hope you enjoy your break Ttda.

We are all set up at Houghton Mill. Busier than usual but the site isn't full, although the car oark, mill and tea room were busy when we arrived. All quiet now. Very warm and humid here. I think rain is forecaat tomorrow. I think we will catch the bus into St Ives and have a wander round the market.

Are the pitches there still a bit lumpy? Haven't been there since we had a motorhome and I assume only grass pitches?

Post some photos of MG please H&T, OH is on with doing body work on ours in between trips away. I like to keep him motivated😁

I can just hear the rain hammering down outside now, cottage has a lovely long verandah along full length, so we can still sit out even if it is raining heavily. Good fun watching ducks waddling up and down. We seem to have Guinea Fowl as well, reminds me of those we adopted years ago.......noisy. Lots of pretty little foals around Moor at moment, some look very young.

Really nice day today, visiting DS, and pretty much all the family together other than SIL.

Grand daughter Eilidh was great with little Callum, looking after and playing with him, making sure he did not fall down any big steps in the garden.

We had a nice lunch then sat outside in the sun, really warm and humid.

DIL unloaded a few baby toys onto DD as we had space in the car, Callum was very taken with the Little Tykes car!

Weather permitting, we will be down at DD's house tomorrow to carry on with the outside work.

Tump Farm CL at Whitchurch. Up the hill from Symonds Yat. Not sure we'll follow the recommendation for Chepstow as we don't want to stray too much farther from home in case we get a recall.

Our motorhome is now roadworthy after OH'S mishap with the rear os corner. Great friend did it yesterday, new light lense and reattached the plastic. He also removed and resealed the awning plates. Good friends are worth their weight in gold. Not sure if or when we'll use it but it's done.

Boiler service happening now, don't know if I said but during the hot weather we found the rads were warm! New motorised value required, our type no longer made, there's a surprise! New control box in the airing cupboard, thermostat on cylinder required too as well as the motorised valve  itself. Ho hum.

Glad to read those away are enjoying themselves. I hope those at home are chilled and pottering!

On the way to our storage site we stopped to tidy the war memorial where I noticed a planning notice stuck on a fence.  Apparently they want to build another 750 houses right up to the perimeter of our storage site.  Going to have to think about moving the van.

Glad to hear your roadworthy B2

Wet and miserable on and off today, when the sun is out its nice and warm, shame its not out for longer. Can't do anything in the garden as its far to wet.

OH has been sorting out, so after my tidying up yesterday the house is now a mess again yell why do you men do this, he has emptied all his crates of things for the car and caravan, all over the floor in the front bedroom and attic room.

Now he's gone outside to find something, I can hear him sorting out the bits of wood left over from the decking, so at a guess he's forgot what he went outside for laughing

I've been doing more sewing, I ordered new memory foam for the caravan beds, so I've re-made the sheet covers for them.

Made some new tie down straps for the bikes. Need to measure the floor space in the new car, I want to put down a protective matting once the seats are out. The bike tyres sit lovely in the rails that the seats run along, so its just the rest of the floor that I want to protect.

Busy busy as usual but we will get there I'm sure.

Bakers, glad you got the MH fixed,  friends are very useful to have  wink

    Most definitely, David !!  Just this very afternoon returned from Ramslade Club Site and It resembles nothing more than a Municipal Car Park in the area I ended up { Well there were only two pitches available at that point, and t'other one was taken 10 mins later ! }

I appreciate it was a private site at some time but although I stuck it out it was not a site I'll return to this side of booking specific pitches   !!embarassed

    P.S.  All was forgiven on Saturday at the Torbay Steam Fair  laughing { <-- enlarge by six wink }

Found a most delightful stall selling some form of South-western food much to my taste !! { Steak & Stilton Pasties } Sat down to enjoy one for lunch along with a cuppa and, the moment I stood up the programme fell from my pocket. Dammit even before I located where it was some kindly young chap from the  WNS, who were supplying health care to the show,  pounced on it with a " Alright SIR I'll get that for you ".  Thanked him profusely but now Brian's feeling his age even more  !!

Hope you all  have been enjoying yourselves at least as much  as I cool
