Buy German whites goods they say , they will last for years . Not in my case , we had a Bosch washing machine delivered yesterday and I fitted it in to day , my wife put a wash in and 3/4 of the way through there was a loud bang and it dumped all its water over the kitchen floor
, a replacement coming Monday

I remember a friend insisting he could help out with a repair on our washing machine, he forgot to put the hose back into the drain and Mr Brue and myself were up at midnight as we tried to hold back a tidal wave! Our friend was on holiday with us plus his wife and four children, their caravan hooked up on our country driveway. The washing machine was on constantly! Another friend arrived with a caravan, it was the busiest holiday at home we ever had, six adults, six children, three dogs and a flood.
Hope the next machine works better Husky. The water coming out looks a lot more than what you hear going in.

We have been lucky with our Bosch appliances....fridges and freezers have lasted well over 15 years, dishwasher must be similar, washing machine is about 5, hob about 7.
We bought our son and DIL a Bosch WM when they got married and it is still going strong 21 years later, which is very good going.
DD also has Bosch WM, tumble dryer and DW, all approaching 14 years old.

That’ll be why you're frothing at the mouth 🤣

I assume the transit bolts were removed?
We have had any number of Bosch appliances and have been very happy with them. I am sure you will find the replacement just the same and have many happy years of use.

Another nice dry day here. Visit to the hospital Audiology dept for OH this morning, now the proud owner of 2 new hearing aids. While he was getting seen to, I went up to the ward that Mum was in a month ago to see if I could get some info from them. Had a good chat with a very nice and helpful ward sister who remembered Mum (not sure if that's good or bad)
managed to get the info I was after
The care home is still in quarantine so still not been to see Mum yet, ( she is fine we are assured) they are hoping to get the all clear by the end of the week.
Decking ordered and should be delivered on Friday, OH has started dismantling the old boards. There is still enough life in most of them to be used for other jobs, I have a wish for a raised bed in the back garden so should keep him out of trouble for the next few weeks
This afternoon I finally managed to finish the last border in the front garden, still pulling/digging out Japanese Anemone
Caravan and my car also washed today by OH
busy busy day.

Well at last we have something in common. We go where we want when we want .
Same here AD, this year we visited parts of France that we hadn't with the MH, stayed longer at some sites than we had planned and less at others. I'd always assumed that's what our hobby is all about freedom to please ourselves

Our first dishwasher was a Neff. It lasted 27 years😁. Bought a Smeg to replace it......gave up the ghost 18 months later, replaced under warranty (after a right old battle with the Coop who we bought it off.) 11 months later, this died. Back onto the Coop, got our money back, immediately went out and bought a Bosch DW. Six years on, no issues. Clothes washers don’t seem to last very long nowadays. Don’t buy a Whirlpool, not unless you want to come home to a real fire! Shocking company.

That's a good trip too, TG. Our cheapest sites were £10 pn and we did get a 4 for 3 twice on Beecraigs which worked out at just over £16 pn, our dearest too. So far this year we've been away over 140 nights and hope to do a similar amount during the second half, therefore we do need to look for the less expensive sites, as we couldn't tour as we do if we had to pay top whack/club rates all the time, but also choose those where we want to go and are able to find sites that suit us....all with EHU as a minimum.

We too had the same sort of weather, OP. Such a pity as we had to come home, but it did mean that OH was able to get all the washing out and dried by mid afternoon. Lots of gardening to do now after 10 weeks away. Lots of jobs to do now starting tomorrow afternoon after visit to town in the morning.

Yes it wasn't a bad trip at least the weather was better than here.
Still not sure yet about the autumn trip, would still like to go to Spain, haven't been for about 3 years as there is always something cropping up and we put it off. Fingers crossed that Mum will be ok and we can get away. If not I might just be looking for CL's

We are off on Safari today. Yorkshire Wildlife Park. OH is dog sitting, and hopefully doing a bit of something else!

Made the mistake of having a shower before I cleaned the caravan, so had a second one whilst cleaning it and a third one before going off to donate a full arms worth of blood, just so the dictors can tell me what I already know!
Took the OH on a walk down to the local as getting withdrawal walking symptons.😎 Lovely day today.

Proper summer weather here today, absolutely beautiful. After an eye test for me this morning and yet another pair of glasses needed we headed off for an afternoon in Devon via the A30 (which I think is due for closure south of Chard soon, so check if you're travelling that way.) Just now it's the last week or so before the holiday traffic starts in full flow so we're getting out while we can to some of our favourite spots!
OH has been repairing the recent damage to the van roof and has sourced all the bits he needs. The club insurance were very good about the change of plan and not making a claim. It has been a good experience dealing with them, our first unfortunately, so in some way we've done well over the last fifteen years.
Hope you all have a good evening. Hope TDA enjoyed the trip out, nice to get out with the new vehicle and hope also the weather is being kind to everyone!

Unfortunately brue the summer weather has left us, back to chilly 14c grey skies with drizzle at times
OH managed to remove the last of the decking lengths this morning, the sub frame is dry and in perfect condition
. New decking lengths delivered tomorrow so if its dry he will make a start putting them down.
Nothing exciting for me today just housework.
This afternoon we decided to take a run out to a dealership to look at a couple of PVC's, they didn't have any in before we went away that we were interested in but they have a few in now, so although we are not ready to make the change yet we thought we would take a look to see what we thought of them.
Was worth the drive as we liked all 3 of them
didn't mind the price, the trade in offer for 11mth old caravan was a joke 50% what we paid for it
still as we are not thinking of changing yet it doesn't matter. At least we know now what we might like to go to next.
Hope tomorrow is warmer the heating is back on in the house

We looked at a lot of PVC's before changing to our Bailey Alliance. I am not the slimmest person and I just found that it would be difficult to use the bunks as singles. I can see the attraction of the more compact size but in the end decided it was too much of a compromise for us. We are currently on a three week trip away so this was our first opportunity to give it a real test. Re the caravan I suppose the biggest hit is always going to be the worst during the first year and perhaps after a year or two the trade in will seem a bit more reasonable?

Could be but I doubt it they deal in both, doesn't matter as I said only 'looking' but salesmen always want to do a deal. We've found up here the trade ins are rubbish and the asking price of new/used vans are higher than down south.
When the time comes, try putting the van on Preloved TG, check prices on line to get an idea of what to ask, well worth a try. We sold our previous van that way and then got an excellent discount on our current one.
Will probably go that way, in a couple of years the prices should be more realistic.
DK, we don't fancy another coachbuild, hence the trying out a PVC to see if it would suit, quiet happy with the size 6.4, same layout as the MH and the current caravan. Just needed to see if storage would be ok, there was plenty of cupboards and under bed storage, fridge same as we have in the caravan, lots of overhead lockers and of course plenty of payload
I think it will be the way we go in the future, can't believe it as previously always thought they were to small.

Yes it wasn't a bad trip at least the weather was better than here.
TG, although it may well have looked as if the weather had been bad for part of our trip we didn't have a single day where we didn't get out and about for most of the day, apart of course during the day's we changed site, and even then we managed a walk of a couple of miles or more after lunch. We never really got wet but did have to use our brollies on the odd occasion, especially at Huntly!!
