yes it is, and the same student did a quick portrait of me, which if it was taken 35 years ago would have been very accurate.

Day out for me today, hoping to take Mum and Sis out in new Jeep. Can't decide, Castleton, Renishaw . . . . . . . .
There is a song used as a theme tune for the Sharpe T.V. programmes that you should use for such trips, TTDA .
I seem to recall it's " Over the hills and far away "
Do so hope you all enjoyed that trip out .

Fantastic pictures CS. You must have inspired them this morning.
Well it's all happening here. While we've been away in Wales, a pair of great tits have set up home in the bird box in the back garden. Nothing interesting you may think.......its only taken 19 YEARS to get them to nest in my garden! So I'm sat here happily watching them going about their business which seems very frantic at the moment.
TG - I'm tired out just reading your post. 😳

Another dry day, mix of sun and clouds not as warm as it has been but still better than the wet stuff
Not so busy today
bit of shopping this morning, chat with big sister before going home and having a late lunch. Then this afternoon out with the OH to look at decking, he wants to replace the top boards of one of the decks we have.
Back home and a cuppa then a bit more weeding of the gravel at the side of the house.
See I can have a normal day

Haven't actually been round it myself. After trekking along the spit in a biting wind one March, it doesn't open till April. Must read my NT handbook properly.

Our favourite beach down near St Ives has a naturist area, primarily dunes behind it. One of the paths down involves meandering through dune pathways, and it’s a favourite haunt of a certain type of male. All you see are heads popping up usually checking out the “talent”, but occasionally you come across something less savoury. 😱 However, a trio of very inquisitive Airedale terriers usually had the last chicken in the shop scuttling for cover!🤣 Very rarely you get an over cooked nude strutting down the beach, but the first cold wave usually has them retiring, pride damaged. We did have one ask if he could have his photo taken with our dogs. Probably centre spread in Poppers Monthly🤣🤣
Had a lovely afternoon out in Castleton, it’s a nice scenic drive for us, we only touch outlying nice areas of Sheffield, and quickly out onto Moors. A few shops closing down though, including what used to be a good walking/ outdoors shop up near Peveril Castle entrance. A nice first run out in Jeep though, nice and comfy.

Well, this is our last night out of 69 on this trip. We'll have done about 2260 mls by the time we get home, stayed at 14 locations, including 1 CC site, 1 commercial site twice, 1 small, 3 van independent site and the remainder CLs, 3 of which were new to us, at an average cost of about £12:88 per night.
Another fine and at times sunny day. This morning we took the bus from Rheged to Threlkeld and then walked the C2C cycle route up past Castlehead Stone Circle and then down into Keswick and along to the lake side. The town was not as busy as we expected.
Good to hear that you, mum and sis had a pleasant day's run out in the new Jeep, tda.

Another cracking tour, with no doubt lots of memories for you Nellie. An excellent nightly average as well, just shows it can be done if you don’t need full facilities all the time, and are willing to mix and match sites😁

That's a good average night price NTH.
We did 49 nights, 14 sites and 3200 mls, not worked out average nightly price yet but we did get 3 lots of 7 for 6. Dearest site was 18€ cheapest was the first night CL £12, 10 new sites for us on this trip

I'm always a bit puzzled by these low average prices. I must be staying in the wrong places as I rarely find CL's under £15. Add in an independent and a CAMC pitch and my average isn't far under £20 even allowing for a night or two "wild camping".

Much the same for us CY, I see David's most expensive site was £22.43 (from the euro mark) our recent trip, 7 sites in 14 nights averaged at £18.30. Nellie does well in overall site costs but we tend to pick a site because we want to be in a certain spot and not drive out too much, possibly seeing things en route from site to site. Our trip included just one CL this time at £16 a night. The cheapest club site was just over £17. I don't usually bother too much in costing up site stays but generally I find it's harder to find bargain sites in places we want to stay. None the less we enjoyed our holiday and saw what we wanted to see.

I think in some cases a large pinch of salt is required. The CL in Essex we are staying in shortly will be £12.50/night (that’s with facilities) When we go over there in August I expect to pay anywhere from €20 to €40/night. I will post the receipt on my return mid September🌞
Note different areas in Germany have different school holiday dates

We seem to be heading for another spell of warm sunny weather, so yesterday we cut two fields for hay. The plan is to bale on Saturday.
Earlier this year we seem to have acquired a new enterprise. A duck appeared in the yard. We assume she came from a farm nearby, and waddled to the beck, crossed under the bridge over the road, then up the hill to us. She wandered around picking up bits of cake etc and eventually settled on a nest. A few weeks later she had 10 ducklings and we moved them to a more suitable building (away from cats). They're now half grown and we let them out every morning and they willingly come back at night. I don't know what the future holds for them (Duck a l'orange at Christmas?) but they're fun to watch. And the cats seem more wary of them than the other way round.

We've kept ducks Goldie. Later on when we just had chickens a wild mallard duckling appeared on it's own and we fed him and kept him safe. When he grew he used to fly off to the nature reserve at Ruthven (we guessed he did or down to the Spey) and then he'd come back to us at night. We presume in the end he met up with fellow ducks and preferred their company.

Sometimes Mother Duck takes them to the end of our buildings where you can look across to our neighbour. I imagine her saying "look down there, that's where I came from. Isn't it better up here". Maybe she likes the food and extras (old wilted lettuce).

Arrived yesterday at CCC Cardigan Bay, nice site, lovely views, facilities fine though not as modern as at Kendal, more on a par with CAMC Garlieston.
Good run down from North Wales, route suggested by our friend we were visiting turned out to be a good one.
Sunny and warm at the moment, just deciding where to go today.

Looks like some Muscovy in there😁 We kept ducks for years, only for eggs though. Drakes are a pain in the bum at times, awful in Springtime, they don’t give females a moments peace. We had to get rid of one, he used to drag chickens into pond to try and mate with them. Ours loved bean sprouts as a treat......judging by the quacking, they were ducky heaven!😂
We had some Lilac Muscovies, and some rare breed chickens. We really miss them, but we are away too frequently nowadays.
