What are you all up to

You will enjoy the area. Try and make time to visit New Quay and take one of the Dolphin boat trips. Cwmtydu, Llangranog, Aberporth are all lovely quaint seaside villages. Which CL near Tenby are you staying at? You will find this area a little more touristy.

We've tried several of the bigger club sites on the W coast in Wales but next time will try a CL. We liked the C&CC site (quite a long way out from St David's) because it's close to Abereidy Bay and it's a small site. But early and late dog walks were limited.
Millie, we've booked the Christmas Show on the pier...suddenly felt like doing something a bit different later in the year! Yes our whippet friend is super busy and then flops over anything available. He is having a good time here as he has a much smaller garden at home (but he does have a beach.) There is also a truce with the cat who now has the upper paw and he gets on well with our other visiting canine pal.

It's so popular there, I've managed to stay away for the last couple of years!
The café is a big draw, nearly always a queue for a seat.
But I didn't manage to keep away from Booths on our recent trip, got stocked up half way on our travels.
Glad to hear you both had a relaxing evening Goldie.

Freddy - regarding C&CC sites - they've invested a lot of money over the years in improving their sites. As Kj says, the one slight drawback is that the HS pitches are not always as generously sized as club ones but at least you can be sure to book one. We've stayed at quite a few over the past 3 or 4 years and have never been disappointed.
Probably a bit late for you now, but if you're travelling north west again we've found that the Wolverley site near Kidderminster makes a good overnight stopping off point and means you can avoid the worst of the M5/M6 hold ups. Similarly if travelling north east, the site at Kingsbury Water park serves the same purpose.
Nearer to you, we prefer the C&CC site at Priddy to the Cheddar club site (although that's obviously more convenient for the village itself) and the excellent site at Devizes is right next to the canal.

Just noticed previous posts mentioning West Wales. We've just come back from there. We stayed at a CL called Marylands near Camrose -Haverfordwest and would highly recommend it. It's a new CL with large gravel pitches, immaculate shower / wc. Only £16 a night and central for visiting a lot of places. A very pretty CL maintained to a high standard.

Moulesy you won't be disappointed. It's a fantastic CL with friendly owners. You can tell the owners are caravaners themselves due to the thought and design of the site. One word of warning though...the pub at the end of the road is ok for friendly drinks with the locals but the food is an acquired taste.
Theres loads of lovely beaches within a short drive and the CL provides a map and menus for a few local pub/restaurants. I wish we didn't have to leave but work must go on to pay for these holidays!

Yes, been in Tenby before, many years back, very popular.
The CL we are using is nearer Tenby than the St David’s site, but still a bit away, up near Haverfordwest, the name I would have to look up on my spreadsheet, which is not on this machine.
Our other CL is quite near Cardiff.

No, just managed to remember the name!
It is White Hart Cottage, all pitches are gravel, I think there is toilet, only £10pn, good central location for lots of places around. Will post review after our visit, still over a week till we are there.

We used some nice CLs when we toured South Wales M, take a look over on CChat. Can’t remember if photos still on there. Nellie used a cracker not far from Milford Haven as well. Three of the four we used had shower and loo, all very nice. Easy to get around to places like Pembroke, Bosherston, St David’s, and then a bit further up for Cardigan Bay Area. New Quay is a lovely place, but very popular.

We have got our new car, and it fits on the drive.......just! 😁Delighted with it.
The dealer had someone waiting to view our previous Jeep Wrangler as we handed it over!😲 They are fetching good money at the moment.

Been a good day here so far. We went in to Moffat this morning to see the classics all leaving the town on the annual road run. As always lovely cars to look at and it was very hot weather so made it enjoyable. After a wander around the town we came back and I went a lovely 20 mile cycle through some lovely borders countryside. Got dinner from the local chip shop tonight. Car show is tomorrow looking forward to that hoping the weather stays nice as we have had a couple of heavy downpours in the last hour or so

Enjoy the new car ttda. Mrs WN might have a fetish for new car smells, but don't tell her I told you.
Last day today. Walked up to the most famous pothole in the country, Gaping Gill. A group of youngsters were about to descend into its bowels led by 4 experienced potholers. It was interesting chatting to them about what was beneath our feet. One of them said they could be under for about 4 hours and come up somewhere entirely different from their entrance. We happily stayed above ground on a sultry day. We were gojng to climb Ingleborough except I pulled a muscle in my rib cage sneezing last night.
Nellie will probably be along soon to call me a wimp.
Nice to hear everyone seems to be in good spirits.

?? A Fetish For New Car Smells ??
Do you know if those hanging Christmas tree shaped things with the title 'New Car ' are accurate
. 1987 since yours truly bought a brand new motor and my nose has lost it's memory and they could tell me anything these days

Bit of a mixed week , Wednesday got a letter from Hampshire constabulary to say I was doing 36 in a 30 limit ,so looks like a fine
, Thursday some one keyed down the side of my car ,while parked in the carpark
, and yesterday someone came to view my shop

That takes me back some years. When I was teaching in Saltaire we used to have "activity days" at the end of each year and I went with a group of Y10 pupils to be lowered down Gaping Gill and spend a couple of hours underground. Absolutely fascinating and I've only done it once since, down in the Brecon Beacons. These days my rather more portly figure would make if difficult to get winched down, let alone manouver through some of those passages!

It’s not brand new, but been well valeted, and doesn’t yet have that faint whiff of Eau de Labrador. We never buy new, you take too much of a hit for us.
Gaping Ghyll is on my bucket list, but only to descend into main cavern. Caving is probably top of my fright list, I hate tiny closed in spaces.
Fingers crossed for you with the shop HD. Annoying that you have got the speeding fine. Take a look at the signage before you pay up, there are a lot of signs obscured by foliage nowadays, very easy to miss if it’s an area you don’t know. My sister got a ticket in Kings Lynn, she was lucky, did the course instead of the fine.

Our other CL is quite near Cardiff.
Would that be South Lodge, Kjell. If so we found it a good site with large flat H/S pitches. Just take care when approaching with the van up the hill from the roundabout, as you need to be in the outside lane, of 2, to turn into the farm drive to the site.
Sorry to hear about your letter from the cops and the scratch on the car HD. Hope that the shop viewing turns into a sale.
WN, sorry to hear that you've injured your ribs. Are you sure it was sneezing and not from a sharp elbow jab?
I certainly not call you a wimp for avoiding climbing up onto Inglebro' in your condition, especially in the temperatures we've been having. Well done in getting up Pen-y-Ghent yesterday, it must have been hot work. Have a safe trip home tomorrow.
Tda, it was Woody Kiln CL nr Milford Haven (a previous CL of the Year winner) that we liked and would recommend and also Silver Hill at Whitland near Carmarthen.

Hot day today, but lovely and cool in church when I went down to play for a wedding.
Sorry to read about the ticket, Huskydog. The last time I got had it was a fine as I'd been on a course within 3 years... 😚😚. The trouble is, I saw the van in the distance and still thought it was 40mph when it had just changed to 30 - marked on the road but no 'lollipop' - was too busy looking at the speed van!!!

Thanks for that. As you may have guessed, I’m considering joining the other club (in addition), just wanted an insight. Not sure if I’ll be making my way north again this year. Although I’m now retired, the wife still works 3 (consecutive) days a week, so we won’t be able to venture too far. I hadn’t realised just how bad it is traveling northbound/southbound on the M5/6 around the midlands 🙁 In the past, we’ve stopped at a CL near Gailey, which was dead handy being very close to the motorway, but no longer seems to be listed. Any idea how much longer the motorway roadworks are set to last?
In other news, still waiting for the dealer to put right a few ‘niggles’ with our new van, they’ve had it a week, so far....
