Wouldn't fancy it if it was front wheel drive, if the surface was at all wet. I had the front wheels skipping on a longish estate on some of the steepest bends.

Really I would not fancy it at all, just too wide.😀

😂😂 can I spin it out for that long?

So long as it's done and worked I'll be happy and accept the restrictions.

Wow patch removed eye looking good and I have clear vision brilliant 😃

Edit. I wouldn't want to try it in our motorhome not enough grunt! Plus it's that bit higher in the sitting position. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience for me! I'm a girl from  the flatlands 😂😂

Last day of our stay here in Ayr, and peace reigns again........DD and Callum have gone home.

We had great fun, visited Culzean Castle and went to the beach in Ayr where Callum played in the sand and paddled in the sea, before falling over and getting soaked, which he also enjoyed!  He was not so happy however when he had to be removed from playing in the wet sand and be stripped down and dried off  before getting dry clothes on.

The weather has been reasonable, we were even able to eat  outside a few times, but last night there was very heavy rain just as Callum was due to go for his bath......there is a lovely toddler bath here.....so he was hosed down in our shower instead, still had sand between his toes!

Today we will do some shopping and get packed up for our move to Garlieston  tomorrow.

I know I was, I later realised there were mid-summer frolics going on. wink

Kj hope you both enjoy a restful stay at Garlieston

It is still warm and sunny in the NW, dread to think what our garden looks like after all the rain further south. We left gallons of water in butts etc as we had help coming in, must be overflowing by now.

Good to hear the op went well B2 and when you mentioned Hard Knott pass we took the longer route to our next stop today. Did it years ago in our old estate car, had to wait whilst others took "a run at it!"

Apologies if I've missed others, just a quick read through.

Do you think the government could alter mid summer at short notice so we could catch up on the weather and daylight a bit this year?! laughing

Thanks for your suggestion TTDA. Just got back from that stunning beach at Porthkidney where Meg had an absolute ball! Think she was suffering from beach withdrawal symptoms since she is on the beach every day at home.

The Church and parking took a bit of finding but for once the satnav behaved itself 😃

Plus, the ladies at the Church visitor centre provided us with much needed tea/coffee and cake on the way back🥮☕️

Please leave 'em in A1 Condition Francis. They are the only two Scottish sites I'll see this year and that'll be in October before the M6 / A74 get snowbound laughing

It is several years since we stayed at the Ayr site as it is not that far from us, plus OH spent her childhood years in Ayr so knows it well.

The site is good, facilities are quite old though.  DD commented that the shower cubicles were very shallow and the curtain clingy, but she had a decent shower with plenty of HW, as did Callum in the toddler room.  However the water in shower in the disabled room was almost non-existent , even worse than the showers at LMP in Chirk, and that is pretty dire!

Strange that this is the case when the water pressure/flow is fine in the rest of the block, and in the basin taps and toilet cistern.  OH said she would have struggled to wash shampoo out of her hair it was that poor.  Will try to remember to query this with the wardens before leaving.  Tonight she will use our own shower, it does not have fantastic pressure, but certainly better than the site one!

Easy drive over to Thirsk site. Weather behaving itself, nice sunny evening. Put awning up then explored the town and did some shopping. Shower facs don't look great so we'll use our own but nice to have somewhere to wash pots and pans and at just a smidgen over £16 on quite reasonable.

Off to walk from Helmsley to Rievaulx Abbey tomorrow. Celebrating another year defying the Grim Reaper (if I make it through the night)

Hope the op went well Bakers.

Everyone out and about seems to be enjoying themselves. Keep it up folks.

Wherenext many happy returns for tomorrow. 🎂 gluten free 😉 🎉🎊🍻 21 again or have you conceded to a slightly greater number??

I'm really pleased I can see clearly now that the cataract's gone (instead if the rain 😲). That dates me. Colours vibrant, edges crisp and distance clear not had that since early teens! (Day before yesterday actually 😂😂). I now realise that my good eye isn't as good as I thought! No discomfort or swelling and little discolouration. I'm well impressed. Thanks NHS.

I think this year OH and myself have had a good share of treatment from the NHS, I'm certain OH wouldn't be here without it as I can't imagine the cost of an ICD and remote monitoring let alone HDU costs, great that it free at the point of delivery. Mind you I'd, and probably he'd, be very happy not to have to used the service 😉

Had a nice few hours in Whitby today. I was anticipating great things as we approached the Magpie Cafe for our fish n chips. No queue, great! But then I saw a lonely piece of battered fish on display. Very small, and quite frankly, looking dried up, put me right off (yes, I realise they cook to order, but still). So, went to a place just down the road, can’t remember the name, but much better 👍 I was quite surprised by Whitby itself, lots of diverse/interesting shops to browse and a lovely atmosphere, unlike many coastal towns. Oh, can recommend the P&R, £5 for the two of us, return. Given the weather lately, the sunshine was most welcome. Yes, nice day. We leave our current site tomorrow (Cliff Farm) and head south where we have two nights on a CL not far from Leek (I think), Goathead Farm, and then back home, Bristol. The only thing we have planned at the moment is a stay at Moreton-In-Marsh in mid August, but SWMBO is reducing her shifts in July, which means Tuesday to Friday will be free, so we can decide as we go, nice 🙂

Bakers I always but always use 21.

Well, I use it as a base and then work out the percentage increase!smile Have my GF cake cake ready and waiting.🎂 I've always thought that it's not the sugar but the gluten that carries the calories.☺

Freddy, hope it was Quayside, about 5 doors down next to the Pier pub? Better F&C in my opinion.

Do you mean Goatfell Farm, Freddy? Lovely CL with great views. Remember us to Sally when you get there (well, she'll probably remember Lady more than us! wink)

Nice walk around Tittesworth reservoir just the other side of Leek or, for a harder challenge The Roaches are only a short drive away. smile

So glad your cataract op went so well Bakers2 and that the result is so good. Yes I am sure that you and your OH would rather not have had to use the NHS so much this year but thank goodness it is there. It has served us well on several occasaions when we have been in need and like you I am forever grateful

We visited East Ruston old Vicarage garden today. It is such a beautiful garden and I recommend it if you are in Norfolk. It is so well designed into 'rooms' with lovely vistas which draw you through and the flowers are gorgeous, especially the roses and the poppies at the moment. NO RAIN today 😁 and it is now a really lovely evening. Summer at last 😎.(fingers crossed).

Happy birthday for tomorrow WN. It is OH's on Sunday but I suspect he is a good few years ahead of you 😂.

Sorry yes, Goatfell Farm. As it happens, I’ve just been looking at the map to plot a course there. Trouble is, it looks a right mess. Any thoughts on a route from here (Pickering) to Leek? I have satnav, but in the past it’s taken me on some horrendous (unpractical) roads.

Bakers2 sadly the grumpy fish and chip man wasnt even a good cook. His fish and especially his chips left a lot to be desired ☹. We noticed that on the side of his van he advertised that he was available for weddings and parties which gave a few of us a good laugh 😂

Not sure from Pickering, we were heading in the opposite direction, northwards to Bridlington. If you can work out a route to the M1 and come off near Belper you can then get on to the Ashbourne to Leek road and then it's dead easy to get to Goatfell - look out  for the curiously placed Indian restaurant and turn right at the crossroads just after. (Sorry, I've forgotten the road numbers.)
