Had another good day in Yorkshire weather quite sunny ,visited an "old?"school friend of OH in Garforth (leeds) via A1/M1 , we were overtaken by 4 "on delivery?" motor caravans one 3 axle in convoy weaving from lane to lane "no signals"doing over 70 mph on A1 as we were doing 70 mph
A bit of a downer as Thomases only had one curd tart left
Market day in Knaresborough tomorrow, so may get some more

I know to what you referπsadly. We go in occasionally, and love the Morrab. We had a lovely meal out one evening, and decided to go for an evening stroll after. Within 10 minutes we decided it wasnβt a good idea, felt rather threatened.
We love the West Penwith area though, Lands End and Lizard. Proper Cornwall, still wild, not as touristy as some of other areas. Fowey is our other favourite area, all the little places like Lerryn, Lostwithiel Etc.... itβs a gorgeous place, so full of history. We did a lock in at Admiral Benbow one night with locals, that was fun!π²

No rain today, which certainly makes a change.
We spent the day around the Country Park, walking parts of all the waymarked trails, up onto Cockleroy Hill.and then to the Boundary Stone. It's been one of the few days on this trip that we've not used the car.
Good to hear that most that are away have had a better day weatherwise today. You were most fortunate M....we too have had a similar thing happen but like Francis have managed to get to the handbrake before anything major has happened. It's much less likely to happen now that we've an automatic.

For those in and around Bridlington, since we live about 12 miles away, we go there regularly. I can recommend the βOld Cow Shedβ at Fraisthorpe. Relatively new up- market cafe almost on the beach with lovely views of Brid Bay if you can sit outside. Miles of flat sandy beach towards Wilsthorpe at the south side of Brid if the tide is out. Gets very busy though.

No - very reasonably priced. When I said βup market β, I meant it was a very smart new build in what was the old farm. Just thought the name might give the wrong impression!

I'm envious of all these accounts of holidays, as I don't think we will be getting away soon as work is getting in the way. Last night we were silaging (closely watched by Ronnie). In the second picture you can just see our caravan up near the house. Ready to go at a moment's notice. Well, maybe an hour's notice.

Had a brief walk this morning before coming back to take the awning down dry for tomorrow. Of course it started raining so it can stay up and wait to be dismantled.
Thanks Richard but we're on our last day here. Will bear it in mind as we'll be back in a couple of years time no doubt.

We have been visiting Fraisthorpe Beach for years, lovely place. Havenβt been in new cafe yet, but we found a cracker of a CL just along the coast, Rectory Farm at Barmston. Has a small well organised private site alongside as well. Lovely place. Very close proximity to Burton Agnes Hall, fabulous gardens.π

Yes, I know it - but living in Hornsea - itβs just a bit too close to home!
Burton Agnes is stunning and if you get the opportunity to look round the Hall - itβs a fabulous building - especially the Long Gallery. Susan Cunliffe-Lister was very much involved with St John Ambulance when I worked for them and hosted a number of events for us, so she used to give us private guided tours!

We looked around Burton Agnes Hall indoors the other day and really enjoyed it, especially the Long Gallery. Mrs WN would quite happily have walked out with a painting by Chico Prats and a Sickert. We also liked some of the furniture.
The only downside was the lack of information cards. Apparently the lady of the house doesn't like them and the guides were thin on the ground due to a pre booked group commandeering one of the two available.
Cleared up for this afternoon so went for a stroll then took the awning down.

It's our last day at Putts Corner, another rather grey and damp one, but we still got in a longish walk along the coastal path near Exmouth (including a stroll through the horrendous looking Haven site at Devon Cliffs
)
We passed the geoneedle marking the western end of the Jurrasic coast and headed down along the sea front at Exmouth where we stopped for lunch (and, I observed, a rather disappointing shortage of freeloading MHs to complain about
) before heading back to the start of the walk at Littlesham.
The warden's are doing a fish & chip run tonight - a bit different to the usual visiting van - so that's supper sorted out (and it was my turn to cook!
).
Will set off for the trundle home tomorrow morning and hope that this weather will have changed before our next outing!

After some messing about, managed to get an image taken on Mrs Fβs phone. Sutton Bank...

Sure is, we love everything about BA, so much to see. Usually buy a few plants as well
Lovely photo of Sutton Bank Freddy, nice walking and cycling up there.

Well done Freddie. I haven't managed to post any photos since getting my new phone. I re-size them on the photo re-sizer app but when I try and post them absolutely nothing happens
Well the forecasters were right about the thunderstorms last night! We arrived at the Norfolk Broads site after a good journey once we had got past the roadworks between Peterborough and Thorney on the A47and arrived shortly after 1.00pm. We got the awning up just before the rain came (a lot earlier than forecast) but had to finish off the finer points this morning. We decided on getting fish and chips from the visiting van last night as we thought it would be an easy option - wrong!! I had to wait for 45 minutes for my order from the most miserable man I have ever come across. However I had a lovely chat with some of the other caravanners so all was not wasted. After intermittent heavy showers for most of the evening the storm started in earnest at 2.00am and carried on until 4.00am. It was horrendous. The rain was torrential and the storm was overhead at one point and caused a short electricity cut. It has been grey, wet and miserable for most of the day so haven't done anything desperately exciting. However the forecast looks to be picking up and we have one or two visits out planned. Hoveton Hall gardens (HHA) and East Ruston Old Vicarage gardens plus the electric eel boat trip from How Hill and a visit to Horsey Wind Pump and the wildlife boat trip from there. I hope the weather will pick up for all those away and also those at home.

Crikey Millie, that sounds terrible! We were looking forward to another wet day here(just outside Pickering) but shortly after midday the sun gradually emerged and was glorious from mid-afternoon onwards. A couple of beers and a BBQ, the perfect end to the day, even if we didnβt manage to go anywhere.

I'm doing a pirate impression until tomorrow morning. All went well, very calm hospital with lovely staff. Home soon after noon and been very lazy watching daytime TV π². Then swopped to recorded stuff. Hadn't realised limitations on bending and lifting after surgery - sadly jobs will have to wait! But should have been obvious if I engaged my brain. Fortunately I topped up supplies before so walking to shops and light items will have to suffice.
Milliehull the storm sounds awful, I was aware of a few rumbles of thunder overnight but that was it. I think.we got away very lightly. Very grey here and showery. Hope your fish and chips were good, miserable man maybe excellent at cooking them? π mousley I'm sure Mrs m says nothing like that π.
Freddie love the photo and the views from Sutton Bank, must get back that way at some point.
Brue we really enjoyed Ravenglass several years ago, we met friends there they camped we had motorhome, great combination, they have motorhome too now but it meant they took us up Hardinott Pass π² first time I've known her to suggest her hubby drove, she'd done it years before. Loved the railway too, nice cafe at the top at the time π
Goldie lovely views almost jealous, you only need to caravan for a rest not for views ππ
Safe journey to those travelling tomorrow.
Sleep tight folks hopefully storms have passed.

No, just Lady, the Irish Setter. The others are Kovoo and Shadow, friends she palled up with on her last visit to the kennels when we were away in Sri Lanka. How they got the three dogs to sit still like that I'll never know! She has a great time there - they have a trampoline, slide, paddling pool and ball pit for the dogs - great fun! The manager is a former pupil of mine, so it pays to stay well in!

The Hardknott pass is quite spectacular although a good few years since I was up there. That was solo car and quite hard work and I often wonder if I could get the MH up there. Has anyone done it with a 6M coach built?
