We arrived here on site this afternoon after an easy half hour tow from home. Site very busy only a couple of empty pitches. Weather was ok when we arrived so cooked dinner on the Cadac but the rain has now started so we have had to retreat in to the van. Forecast isn't great for the weekend but its still nice to be away.

Brue, your son's whippet pup sounds very much like our son's whippet cross pup.  She is very gentle and laid back but has her mad moments. She is such a lovely dog.

So sorry to hear about your problem with the MH Bakers2. I hope you can get a new lamp cluster sorted soon. Would eBay be any use? How annoying when it had passed it's MOT yell

Exciting times in our family. Our eldest grand-daughter and her fiancé put the deposit on their first house this week.  It is a new build that will hopefully be finished in September (they have been renting so far) and then last evening came to tell us the happy news that they are expecting a baby in January.smile  She had her scan this morning and has just sent me the scan photo. So clear!! We are going to be great grandparents!!surprised I can't quite believe it.  It will be so lovely to have a baby in the family again. She is a teacher so can hopefully sort out her maternity leave to her advantage with the holidays. (it doesn't seem 5 minutes since we rushed off to Luton one Friday evening after work to see her just after she had been born)

I am glad all those away are having a good time. (Beer seems to figure quite strongly laughing) Moulesy, how did Lady cope with the stiff hill walk? We have a clear blue sky here this evening at long last so hopefully the weather has taken a turn for the better at last.  We are off to Norfolk on Tuesday for two and a half weeks so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

Had a quick look at High Breame, lots of pictures but none of the site itself on the listing, which is disappointing.

£17 per night is on the high side, though serviced pitches are good to have, but would not pay the extra £2 for access to shower/toilet

    Congrats all round Millie.smile

Bit of a mix up with dinner tonight. I was making a korma fish curry, very light and adding some coconut cream. Unfortunately I used the Madras curry paste instead. Bit of a surprise.💨💨💨😰😰😰. Don't know if the fish tasted good or not.smile

millieh I'm spitting mad, bad can't say too much. Yes I thought I'd search on internet so Ebay etc. But what exciting news for you 😀. I hope shes keeping well and that the house purchase goes according to plan. I trust it won't be one of these 'new' leasehold ones that are having their leaseholds sold on and ground rent doubling frequently!

We too have had a beautiful evening even a sunset of sorts starting, hopefully the weather will be set fair for us all. (Sorry for you at the mo  Francis)

Whoops! Wherenext I'm sure it was lovely anyway.

A rather wet drive down from Laurenckirk to Upper Largo (Fife) yesterday and set up in the rain but fortunately the winds of previous days had died down. However it did eventually clear up, so late afternoon and evening walks were in the dry. Much better day today with sun and only an odd light shower, although we could see that those over on the Edinburgh side of the Firth were getting it rather wet. Visited 3 of the coastal villages with walks at each.

Glad that your trip to Flamborough went well WN, and that you got to Putts Corner ok M.

Sorry to hear of the bumps to your respective M/Hs, brue & B2,and hope that you are able to get them fixed with too great an expense or trouble.

A belated birthday greetings to Richard and pleased to hear that the sun's out for you too.

Have a good time away in the Peak District H&T. Where are you staying this time?

He is the only friendly cat in the neighbourhood! I do worry that he is attracted to the bird feeders. Yesterday we was sitting there in the rain. He is a strange cat as I see him wandering around all times of the day and night so perhaps he was just have forty winks to refresh himself!!!

Each to their own KJ - but I think it’s very reasonable. As well as the serviced pitches etc - loads of space in what is essentially their back garden. Security gates covered by CCTV, free WiFi, lovely  dog walks just across the road in Danes Dyke and the most accommodating of hosts. Even to the extent of if someone turns up without the gear to connect to the services, John will lend it to them - and set it up! I think the fact that he is booked up nearly all year round, speaks for itself.

I wouldn’t call it slumming it at Hartendale Farm WN - that’s a nice site as well - and, as you say, handier for access to the coastal path. Have you ever stayed there at New Year - the Viking Fire Festival  in the village is quite spectacular - plus there’s sword dancing outside the pubs on Boxing Day morning- one of the few places in the country where it still happens.

He looks a bit care worn David, perhaps he is getting on in years, they do start to do strange things. Our cat sits under the bird feeder, a bit of intimidation going on but no problems.

    Congrats to Millie and family!

Waiting for our son to appear this morning as the other"sun" seems to be dithering in the skies.

Hope you all have a good day. smile

Is that the CL just down the road from the club site at Brid? We drove last it several times when staying at the club site and wished we'd known about it before booking there ( nice though the club site is.)

    Brue

I know where he comes from and have no reason to think he is not looked after but he is a bit of a character. I suspect the natural long hair doesn't aid the well groomed look!!! Some nights I go to check the back door and he is sitting outside looking in. Difficult to put an age on him although he is still pretty active when he is not having a snooze in my front garden.

Ah that's good you know his "home." We once shared the care of a cat with neighbours, his real owners never bothered to look after him, he was nineteen when he finally died but at least he had two warm homes to visit. smile

It is M, very nice as well. If you have a long hook up lead you get lots of space. But pays to ask about rallies, separate field though. Photos on Chat website.

Well, we are home. Left Sis and Mum to overnight it, but we did journey in one. Pooch still not very well, although eating a bit better. Can’t believe how much garden has grown, and rain hasn’t done roses many favours, I need to get in and do some dead heading and staking.

It is certainly a very good alternative to the Club site, which, if I remember correctly, is very expensive these days!

From looking around at both CLs and Club sites last year, Yorkshire does seem pretty expensive compared to some other areas, though we found this year that quite a few CLs  in Wales are also charging not far off £20.

There seems to be a bit of confusion here! No question of a rally field. It’s essentially John’s back garden and is just over half an acre - no more.

Heading from the Club site towards Flamborough, there’s a dip in the road with the entrance to Danes Dyke at the bottom. Follow the road up the slight hill and High Breame is on the left just after the brow of the hill. It’s next door to a C&CC CS whose name I can’t remember.

    Brian

Dont want to sound like an old grump but we were really disappointed with the Festival and left after an hour. Can’t really comment on the quality of the singing although from what little bit we were able to hear, it sounded fine - but the whole event was completely chaotic. Lessons in event planning and management would certainly not go amiss! Shame really and I suppose I had in my mind something like the excellent Shanty Festival that used to take place in Hull which had far more atmosphere to it. It seems to have got too big and a radical re-think on the organisation of it seems to be required.

    Shame that, R & R frown.

It seems that they have spent all their energy in doing the On- Line-Programme without doing the 'On the Ground' stuff then. I've printed off the 2019 prog to read at my leisure, but as you say it's sure to be very busy dashing from stage to stage to get ones preferred performers.  Think I might try BBC DAB local radio on line to see what they have !
