What are you all up to

Certainly, the crowds in Falmouth today would seem to confirm that!

I think Kj and Ttda were confusing High Breame with Hartendale Farm. HB is the one near the club site and HF is the one with the separate rally field and the need for 2 ehu cables. HF is situated behind the church and up the hill a little. I agree Richard, it is all down to personal choice, where one wants to be and how much one is prepared to pay. I used the word "slumming" in a comparison way as opposed to reality.
Had a lovely walk from site today, along the cliff path to North Landing at Flamborough Head. The seabirds were the star attractions but some of the meadows and particularly the colour of the various grasses were lovely. Spotted a North Marsh Orchid.
The day started out sunny but turned mid afternoon with bits of rain which looks like staying put at the moment.

Possibly WN, we only know Hartendale Farm, which is close to village so perhaps not that close to Club Site. Apologies, nice site HF. We use another CL which is close to Bempton RSPB Centre. Only small but nice. May be called Branwood I think.

It is Branwood, tda. We've used it in the past and it's fine, nice and quiet, and giving easy access up to Bempton. I think that should we return to the area we'd use Hartendale Fm next time though.

Not a bad day weather wise ( managed to get washing done and dried outside) although we have had an odd short shower this evening. The reason we'd returned to Monturpie was to visit my cousin so today we called in to see her and went out for a meal, followed by a short drive along the Fife coast. 'Twas good to catch up with all the news of her side of the family.

Congratulations on the family's news, millie. Hope that everything gores to plan.
Hope that the weather's not spoiling the adventures of anyone who's away.
Sorry to hear that the pooch has not fully recovered, tda. Fingers crossed that all will be well now that he's home.
AHH this is the third attempt at getting this posted. fingers crossed that it will work this time...d*mn web site.

Happening to me on nearly every second posting. There's a posting about it in the How to Use Club Together section, WN

I keep getting the server error message as well.

Finally back home after our trip to the Black Forest ( It's green like all the rest). The final week was a bit soggy, like much of the UK apparently but we did get to visit the museums at Bastogne and Ypres.
A few maintenance and repair jobs yesterday to the van, principal being the top fridge door hinge mounting which had disintegrated. It now has a decent nylon block for the pin instead of a flimsy bit of moulded plastic.
Still eking out my £1 per litre Luxembourg fuel. Beats any Esso discount deal!

I wrote replies twice last night, neither ever appeared, so I gave up.
Hope the rain stays off today, we still have quite a bit of packing to do. Have fallen a bit behind on the timetable as OH went to look after Callum on Friday as DD was making a birthday cake for a colleague and did not need Callum's help!
Still clothes and food to sort, but at least essential shopping is done and the last minute washing too. We will shop more once we are settled in.
No need for an early start as our site is only an hour away.

Walking the dog is a lot easier at HF. We rolled into Branwood and pitched up late thinking we were at HF the first time we stayed. OH had booked, but I read him directions for Branwood, and it wasn’t until we sat down later in evening that the penny dropped, and we realised we were pitched up on the wrong CL😱😂 Both CL owners found it rather amusing luckily, and we have been back to both since. 😁

I was getting the Infernal Service Error on every other try yesterday, so I've waited until after noon, literally, to try today. so here goes :--
Been doing a little light housework while listening to the ccrikit on beeb sports extra.
Now I'm going to wind you lot up with a little , probably unwanted, information -- next Friday 21st is the Summer Solstice so by a week today the nights will have started drawing in again

We are just back from a lovely weekend at Ayr Craigie Gardens C&MC nice and easy for us as it is only a half an hour tow from home. Weathwr was bright yesterday afternoon but rained most of the night. Got up to sunshine this morning so done a cooked breakfast on the Cadac. Typically as we were about to start packing up up began pouring. Now home weather nice again so will spend the afternoon in the garden. Might go away next weekend will see how we feel during the week. Hope everyone else home or away is having a nice weekend

Aah, so it's not me then.😊
Walked out from site and as far as Bempton Cliffs to see the Gannet colony. Worth the walk. Stayed sunny with bits of cloud but a most enjoyable 9 miles. Time for a change of pace tomorrow so off to Burton Agnes hopefully.
Just had coffee and Mrs WN now got the washing on so shower will be delayed.😀
Hope everyone well and the sunshine is being shared out.

Getting organised slowly. Car sorted, most of van sorted, just the fridge to fill up a bit, TV to pack, and last minute bits to go in in the morning.
Car is strangely empty, have we forgotten something!?
Hopefully not, OH has made a final list so we should be OK.
I think the car must look empty as we no longer have the huge Fiamma Zip bag that held the zip on front and sides etc.

Another dry day with quite a bit of sunshine, with an odd shower in the afternoon. Parked at Ruby Bay, Elie and walked through to Earlsferry and beyond along the beach nearly to the Chain Walk. Spent the afternoon at Kellie Castle, surprised how few visitors there are about in this area. We move on down to Beecraigs at Linlithgow (again) tomorrow, as there's more for us to see in the area that we didn't have time for on the way up.
Brue, is it a CL that you are going to in West Cumbria? We are thinking of stopping off in that area on our way back home. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

re West Cumbria
We stayed near Maryport about 8 years ago (for a party in Crosscanonby). This site was small but neat - shower and toilets were in what from the outside looked like garden sheds.Very flat and all grass ( I think). Sorry - I never took any photos. It may even be updated now. It was £10 then. It's a square field if you look on Google maps you can see it.

Been a glorious day here blue sky fluffy clouds and a breeze. Good blanket drying weather 😃. (I don't have any and it seems a waste of a good drying day after our recent weather)
So after pegging out a load of washing I took a leisurely trip around Tesco for supplies & I have allowed myself, OH too a recharging day in the garden on reclining chairs reading and just being. Wonderful.
Tomorrow we have appointments to keep, OH cardio rehab me the dentist. 2.30pm onwards to indulge ourselves before a very early start on Wednesday for my cataract op. Have to be at the hospital for 0730. Thursday 'free' Friday OH hospital appointment and that's another week gone!
Hope you folks are enjoying yourselves and managing to indulge yourselves at times if that 4 letter word starting with w*** is getting in the way.
Edit I have now asked a friend to come examine the damage to our motorhome, he's in the trade, when he's free and I can drive again. Shoukd work out nicely as hes away for a few days. Took me along time to get my equilibrium back and I didn't do it 😂😂😂.

Good luck with the op Bakers2 I expect you'll be glad when it's over. Hope you can sort the M/H too there's always something isn't there?! OH feels he could repair ours so more decisions when we get home as we had arranged an inspection etc.
Good weather here, did a lovely drive over the "tops" to Penrith, the views were beautiful, now on the W coast.

The WiFi here at Putts Corner is poor even at the so called hotspot outside reception!
So I'm relying on good old 4G!
The last 3 days have been grey but mainly dry and we've managed to do good walks each day. After 2 exceptionally hilly days, though, we decided on a level walk along the river Otter from Newton Poppleford to Budleigh Salterton today. Sitting on the front eating out lunch was more like October than mid summer though with a stiff wind blowing in off the sea - what's happened to our summer? Decided to take the bus back - wish we had applied for bus passes now - "that'll be £10 please" for a 5 mile journey - it's been some time since we used public transport and likely to be a long time before we do again!

If I'd known you were off to BS then I would have recommended a visit to the little museum there. Very interesting. I think it's only open after 2 pm and run by volunteers.
We took ourselves off to Burton Agnes Hall today and really enjoyed it. They have some rather good paintings there, the gardens are nice and the building a delight as well. Particularly like the old Manor House, nearly 1,000 years old. The lecturn in the church was made by Robert "Mouseman" Thompson and, yes, there is a mouse on it, running up one side of it.
The cafe even had a GF Bakewell slice! Hurrah. Really good as well.
Called in at Bridlington to do some food shopping. Tesco wouldn't allow me to purchase 3 of the 4 items included in a £10 meal deal for the £10 even though they didn't have a GF dessert on offer. They suggested I bought something and just threw it away!
Pretty disgraceful that they firstly couldn't override the till for 3 instead of 4 items and secondly for recommending food wastage. Awaiting their reply with interest. We walked out and shopped elsewhere. In the past M&S have either overriden the till or allowed us a dessert from their "Wheat Free" section or allowed us a fruit selection so it can be done.
Hope everyone in good shape.

Not up to but just back from....Connemara National Park in Ireland. Hired a cottage (as 9 members of the family were involved), took the fast ferry from Holyhead to Dublin and had a great week. Stunning mountain scenery, drop dead gorgeous beaches and plenty of great eating places with quality food. Great experience.

Hope both brue and Bakers2 get their MHs sorted out. All very stressful and time consuming (not to mention expensive). It sounds like you have had a good day today Bakers2. I do hope your cataract op goes well tomorrow. You will be glad to get it over and done with. OH had both of his done a couple of months apart 2 years ago and all went well. He now only needs gasses for reading (which he didn't before!) and is happy to drive in the dark again thank goodness. I am still waiting to be referred. They seem to keep moving the goalposts
I think we are all ready for the off tomorrow. We have checked and re-checked the list so hope we haven't forgotten anything. We brought the carpets home last week and gave them a good clean and vacuum and took them back today, having washed the floor first. Also took a few things and stowed them away. No chance of bringing it home at the moment with the ongoing roadworks outside our house. We have packed all our wet weather gear including our wellies. Do you think we are ever going to get any summer?

Thanks for the tip, Goldie. It was one of the sites that we'd looked at so certainly will consider it.
Hope that your op goes well B2. Glad that you've had good day today.
Have a good trip away, millie. Fingers crossed for good weather from now on. I'm glad that we're not down in south Lincs at the moment looking at the flooding near Skegness, we would certainly have needed our wellies had we been there.
We're settled in at Beecraigs again. Good weather for most of the day although the wind did get up this afternoon, and then we had a heavy downpour just as we were sitting down to dinner. Forecast is for better weather for the next few days up here...hope that they are right.
