It’s supposed to perk up a bit Friday. Can recommend Burton Agnes Hall and gardens for a visit. Gardens are dog friendly, house and Hall very interesting. Some crafty type shops and plant sales there as well. Not far out of Brid. We are up on NY Moors from Friday, so have ordered some better weather.😁

Thank you for the link Goldie. That really brightened up a dull and dismal day. So heart warming to read.

Pleased to hear you are feeling a bit better triky. Have a good Concord trip.

I went to a coffee morning at the Cathedral today to meet our new Volunteer Co-ordinator. I know him anyway as I have been on duty with him on Tuesday mornings in his previous job as Supervisor Welcomer but I wanted to offer my support to him in his new job. He is such a great guy and I shall really miss working with him. I slso wanted to.meet some of the other volunteers. I have spent the afternoon sorting out clothes to take for our trip away on Friday. I have packed something of everything to cope with all weathers. Food shopping tomorrow.

It has poured with rain all day 😞

One of best walled gardens we have ever seen. Pooch friendly as well. Might be a touch early in season for them to be at their very best, but still worth visiting. The New Hall is very good, not quite what you might expect. 😄

We seem to have been lucky with the weather by the looks of what others have posted. It did rain a little at times but we got packed in dry and only got slightly damp setting up. It has been cold though, not rising above 5 C all morning during our travel up to Carrbridge. Had a slight problem with the motor mover as it stopped working 1/2 way through positioning the van. I think that the battery in the remote is kaput. We manged to push the van round by hand and then rehitched to car to push it up levelling ramps. Different sort of site this one, as we're in a ladies back garden!!

Woken up to another grey, wet day. Mrs WN has just taken MIL to the doctors for her first appointment of the day, to be followed about an hour or so later by a second at the local hospital.

Have to get some food in later this morning, then start planning a few things for our trip. Doesn't look like I'll be able to get out and give the caravan a spruce up as weather looks set for the day.

Hope the weather is bit better where you are.

    Enjoy your trip Millie.

The rain has let up at last but there's still a fierce wind and from the north which makes it bitterly cold. What a contrast to this time last year! Couple of awnings down on site, but, amazingly, our little porch has survived. Hoping to get the walking boots on and get out before long, heading off to Flamborough.smile

Glad you've got better weather Nellie and that you managed to get pitched OK.  I change the battery in our remote at the start of every year now since we had a similar problem some time ago and, touch wood, not had the same problem since.

Busy morning started clearing out van ready for change over.  One more trip in this one next week so only essentials left in.  Going to Shropshire to a regimental reunion.  50 years this year since my regiment amalgamated so should be a special do.🌞

The rain has gone and the wind has dropped. Quite a pleasant afternoon, but decided to leave the long walk round Flamborough Head for tomorrow. So instead we walked in the opposite direction, from the Danes Dyke car park into Bridlington and back. Hardly a soul on the beach, just one brave dog walker and a few hardy souls strolling along the promenade.

Back on site, something I don't think I've ever seen before - a yellowhammer (or maybe a yellow bunting?) on the bird feeder!  smile

We were down at the retail park at lunchtime, and decided to have a look in the bed shop as our mattress has seen better days. Had a fun half hour trying out all the different mattresses. wink Found one we liked but at £850 surprised we decided we needed to think about it a but more.laughing

This afternoon we did our good deed for wildlife and saved a Starling that had managed to get stuck in the chimney. Released  It flew round the room once but then found the open door to freedom.smile

Glad you are taking things easy Triky.

Hope you get to Flamborough Moulesy,  Bempton Cliffs is worth a visit to see the Puffins.

Bempton is also on our "to do" list. I emailed them today to check that they allow dogs in the reserve which, happily, they do. Looking forward to the puffins, but also the gannets - one of my favourite sights is watching them diving.  smile

If you wanted to Moulesy you ciuld walk to Bempton with Lady along the coast path from Flamborough Lighthouse. Makes a nice walk and you arrive at the viewing platforms anyway. We found the views slightly better at Flamborough.

If you're just after a really decent pint then call in at the Royal Dog and Duck in Flamborough centre. They serve an excellent Timothy Taylor. The food looked "hearty" so if sampling then best work up a good appetite. The pub's a bit old school. We'll be there in about 5 weeks so don't give the CAMC members a bad rep.smile

Look out for the Short Eared Owls when you're there, M. There's usually a couple about, they'll show you where at the info centre. I saw one from the road as I rode back down from the Reserve. There's plenty of walking along the paths above the cliffs, in both directions.

Still cool up here but we've had plenty of sunshine too. Drove to the RSPB Reserve at Loch Garten, no Ospreys on the nest but did see a Red Squirrel and another Wood Mouse, so not too bad. After lunch did the Big Trees walk, trying to see Crested Tit, again without success, but did hear one (I think)undecided. One of the Volunteers did show us where we might see an Osprey, down towards Kingussie, so will head that way tomorrow.
