And meanwhile, as promised, a few pictures from Sunday's Setter Rescue walk. Last year's event raised over £2000 - but that was on a nice hot sunny day. Numbers were down this year so we'll have to wait and see how much that affected things.

Lovely photos moulesy. Thank you. Setters are such beautiful dogs. I hope you all managed to raise a good sum for the charity.

    Gorgeous lucky pooches.

I did something different today, took Mum on Safari! Ok, it’s better known as the Yorkshire Safari Park, but we saw some stunningly beautiful animals, and up quite close as well. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, and the money is used to help save some seriously endangered species. It’s beyond comprehension to me that the folks of tomorrow may never see a Tiger, or a Rhino, or even something as small as an Armadillo. All fascinating. Can highly recommend for anyone visiting South Yorkshire area.

Its a bit manic here at the moment as we have builders in building us a deck around our summer house in the back garden. Can't see out of our living room window as we had to move the caravan from its usual space across to the other side so the lorry with all the wood could get in to drop off then of course all the wood was piled up at that side so had no view for 2 days now although they are doing a great job and should be finished tomorrow so will move the van back in to its corner then I'm sure the neighbours will be happy too lol. Heading to a family party on Sat then a classic car show on Sunday so another weekend not away in the van although we are hoping to get a couple of nights away the following week.

its been nice to read of everyones trips away.

Lovely  photos Moulesy , all the dogs seem to be enjoying themselves. smile

Met up with a friend today,  who has just returned from a couple of weeks in Vietnam, what an amazing country, although she said it was very hot and humid.

Heavy rain last night resulted in snow down to about 650m, so we would have been in it yesterday on our walk. Has been raining on and off all day, although we did manage 3 walks in the dry, although we did need our brollies for this afternoon one. Still raining at present....just hope that it has stopped by the morning as we head further north to Carbridge. Site is nearly empty, only about 5 tourers on, with 10 unoccupied seasonal pitches with vans on them. Can hear a Tawny Owl calling just outside of the van as I type this.

Love the photos, M. You all look as if you're having a great day on them.

Hope that you manage to get away the week after next Francis.

Your expedition on the Safari sounds interesting, tda. Glad to hear that your mum enjoyed her day out.

It looked distinctly chilly further north Nellie but with some warmer weather on the way, hope you enjoy your stay in the area, a nice place to visit.

It's a wet, cold, thoroughly miserable morning and Madame Kirkwood doesn't hold out much hope of any improvement soon. Just managed a quick stroll round the dog walk, followed by black pudding for breakfast. Off back into bed for a few hours now! wink

Not caravan related - but if you're stuck inside because of the weather etc, have a look at this. I don't know how our son has the time to do it. It expresses what we all feel about the farm.

Not at work until this afternoon and as it's pouring with rain here too,  I think it will be a supermarket  shopping trip.

Moulesy,  "Black Pudding" for breakfast,  Trevor is now green with envy,  winklaughing

Let's hope the weather dries up soon.

Goldie please tell your son that I throughly enjoyed reading that. It's interesting to be given an insite into someone's working life that is so different from your own. When the field is named please tell us it's name and why.

Now, I was meant to be caching up on some housework but very glad I stopped to read his blog. 😊🚜

Goldie, that was such a good read! We have a photo of my Gt Grandfather, he is in a mystery place in Westmorland, looking very dapper but holding on to three farm dogs. He used to visit a farm there, probably his only break from railway work after leaving the family farm in Beds when young. So I think about him when I read news from your farm. smile

Thanks for cheering me up on a wet and miserable day, Goldie. You must be proud.

Returned home late yesterday afternoon to avoid the worst of the weather as it's supposed to be pretty atrocious where we were staying. We were only away for 2 nights but it felt like a week. Got another walk in in the morning when the sun was actually shining and the Dyfi estuary looked a picture from the hill we were on. Then onto the Dyfi Osprey project to check out the happy couple and their 3 eggs before fininshing off with a quick trip to Ynys Hir nature reserve before packing up and making our way home past Cadair Idris and Bala to North East Wales. Home now for a fortnight before heading off for a longer jaunt.

Hope the weather improves for those away.

If my shopping expedition this morning is anything to go by I find it hardly surprising that people prefer to shop online and proper shops are going out of business! We have a slight leak from the pan connection in one of our bathrooms so it needs replacing. It's been trouble free for about ten years but now obviously need replacing. We also needed a T5 tube for one of our kitchen lights. First stop B&Q where we purchased the kitchen light originally. No stock! Moved onto the plumbing department. No offset pan connectors! Next stop Wickes. Similar story they only had a straight connector which I purchased on spec. Called into Dunelm for a coffee, at least that was nice! Final stop Homebase. Low and behold T5 lights in stock so got two! Not much choice of pan connectors but there was one offset one left which looked as if it had been there for half a century! Better buy it just in case!
