Some good advice on that web site David. Sorry to hear you had to cut short your break, sensible to get home, hope you are feeling a bit better.

DSB's outfit looks very smart, hope there's time to enjoy it?!

I hope Millie enjoys the trip to Houghton Mill, such a nice place to stay.

Off to vote this morning and then a visit to Clarks outlet (the last of the big spenders looking for a bargain!!) We've got a couple of weddings coming up, debating what to wear etc.

We've had two lots of good news, middle grandson has finally got a job after losing his apprenticeship due to a company closure earlier in the year. Not the same type of work but similar and training involved. A brother in law has just had a cancer op but it hasn't spread although some treatment needed.

However we now have to go and collect our visiting dog for a "mini-holiday" not quite sure what that means but we can't have everything going right. wink

Elevens here too, well it was when I sat down embarassed

Bit of housework done this morning, more lists made for jobs still to do, have to make lists nowadays or I'll forget. Used to have an incredible memory, still have for somethings but I do tend to walk into a room and forget what I went for laughing its not age related I keep telling myself just that I'm running out of storage and have soooooo much to remember.

Next job is to go in the garden before it rains, need to do a bit of dead heading.

We are going away a few days earlier than last year but the garden is so much more advanced this year than in the last few years. This year we have seen the cheery tree blossom, the Rhododendrons and Azaleas bloom, the daffodils are all finished and the bluebells are out. The bleeding heart and the hostas have shot up in the last week too.

Might have to think about going away later in future its so nice to see the garden like this when you work so hard at it. Off to do some more.smile

I know exactly how it feels David. We stayed at a CL not so very long ago where the first 2" was fairly normal but then trying to get the rest of the steel peg in resulted in plenty of bent ones and a sore back! Which reminds me that I must do a review for that CL.

Off for 3 nights away on Sunday to a new CL to us not far from the RSPBs reserve at Ynys Hir, one of our favourite places to be at this time of year. Have to be home for another 2 doctors appointments for MIL on Thursday next week.

Enjoy your trip Millie. We duck taped our window for ages and travelled through Spain and France before having it replaced so I wouldn't worry too much about a trip to Huntingdon.

On site and set up, bit damp and cold but always happy.

Now off to the local bank to exchange English pounds for Scottish ones, wonder what the exchange rate is?

Looks as if the decision to return early from our trip away at Cirencester was justified as visit to the Doc today confirm a chest infection and now on a course of antibiotics. I tend to be a bit pig headed about such things and let nature take its course but it just seemed to be going on too long. Because we thought we would be away we even arranged for postal votes.

We won't be there until Sunday but it's Furnace Farm, 2073 in the SD. Haven't been before but seems ok and we'll be able to walk to the reserve. We've also walked the hills opposite in the past and we might do so again as Dotterell a possibility.

Is Beescraig the site near Exinburgh as we were mulling over getting up there in November? Well, it's nice to speculate.

Arrived at Goatfell Farm CL to be greeted by a terrific hailstorm, just as predicted by Madame Kirkwood. frown But luckily it didn't last long so we managed to get pitched and the awning up in the dry at least. Then the sun came out and we drove through Leek to walk round Tittesworth Reservoir - teeshirts & shorts! smile

We have a glorious red sky now but I'm not sure if that's a good sign for tomorrow or not. It's got very cold, but it's May and I've resisted putting the heating on so far! laughing

Yes that's the one. Up above Linlithgow about 20 mls west of Edinburgh. Not the cheapest of sites but fine if one can get one of it's offers. Low season midweek is 4 nights for the price of 3, a real bargain.

It's our last night here before we head up to the CC's Clachan site at Killin. I would doubt that we'll have any WiFi when we're there, so it could be while before I post again.

Funny that should have happened to you, M. When we drove up to the site in January it was snowing, but that only lasted a short while too. However we did have to have the heating on!! wink

Enjoy your stay there and I hope that the charity walk goes well at the weekend.

Thank you for this WN. That is very reassuring.  Hopefully all will be well.  We have heard today that the new window has been ordered but I think it might take a while. I hope you enjoy your trip away and that all will be well with your MIL.

At least it makes a good opening talking point Millie.

MiL having dizzy spells, not surprising since suddenly going deaf in one ear so they're trying to get meds to balance things out. We're just worried as her bones are frail and any fall will be bad. Plus you know how "older" people never question their doctor so Mrs WN does the questioning!😊 She's had a lot of practice!.

Another good day weather wise with just a few drops of rain this afternoon. Spent the morning stocking up at Aldi and then a bit of retail therapy for OH at Avondale Designer Outlet where a few bargains were picked up. Then down to Kinneil Estate at Bo'ness to take Flyte for a walk and to view the Antonine Wall and a Roman fortlet (unfortunately Kinneil House was not open), before finishing off our stay in this area, for this trip anyway, with a visit to Linlithgow Palace. Got back to the van and preparations for the move tomorrow completed before the rain came in.

Busy day at DD's house, she was working from home today so was there to make some decisions and requests.

OH was set to steam cleaning the various tiled floors and loading/unloading the washing machine and dryer, while I made a start on the new shelves in one of her cupboards.

The previous owners had made the original internal bathroom into a walk in wardrobe with about 4.5 metres of hanging space on one side and a wall of shallow shelving, but DD has plenty of wardrobes in the bedroom so they are just using one rail for jackets and coats.  She has lots of craft and sewing stuff, so half of the hanging space is to be shelved by adding a centre divider to support 2 lots of shelves.

We have bought Ikea kitchen type shelves to use, so today I have been drilling 3 lines of holes in both sides of the new support at 50mm intervals........a lot of holes!  Tomorrow I will drill the matching holes in the existing side panels.

After fetching Callum from Nursery at lunch time, we had some time to play before OH took him out for a long walk in his pushchair, which usually sends him to sleep, but not today.

So he had an early bedtime tonight!

He is into everything now he can walk, so it is a full time job to keep him entertained.

Tomorrow we are dropping off some carpet pieces to be bound to make rugs and runners, the original carpets in 2 bedrooms had to be removed so we are "recycling" them, then I will be drilling holes while the girls and Callum are going shopping in the afternoon.

Saturday should see the shelves all finished, and on Sunday DS has booked me to do some bits and pieces at his house.

Got the MH back late yesterday after its 1st MOT plus a hab check & oil change from Marquis, Southampton. Mentioned where I dropped it off that the Whale water heater was "popping" intermittently and wondered if the burner needed attention. Upon collection they admitted they had not addressed the problem and gave me a phone number for a firm in Ringwood that dealt with such matters. I got the impression that they did not want to get involved and were only interested in their fee for a 'tick box' exercise on the annual check. Disappointing considering the money they take off us.

The other issue was a high damp reading on the floor under the sink where the outlet pipe had become dislodged and was leaking. Hopefully that will resolve without too much aggro.

Early start this morning, picked up van and went to local dealer where we did a deal on a 2018 Coachman VIP.  Do the swop on 24 May.

All the best for those not feeling great and have a good time to all who are travelling

Wow! that was quick OP, we have a coachman and are very pleased with it apart from the personal weight allowance which is pretty meagre even with the upgrade. Hope you have better luck with this van and many happy holidays.

We are at the final stage of loading smile fridge is on, car is almost loaded, had to come in as we had a hail shower surprised still got a lasagne to make this afternoon and a bit of ironing to do.

Weather not looking too good either here or there for a few days but hey ho it will be great to be away no matter where we go.  Think our first stop could be Chalons or around that area. If its still not great (doesn't look it) we will just keep heading south until we find it laughing then once the nice weather returns start the touring. We've got a few places in mind but as usual anything can change (and frequently does)

Hope everyone looking at going away for BH have a good time, those away for longer, stay safe and enjoy. Those not feeling so great hope you feel better soon.

Hail stopped and cuppa finished so back to work.

Catching up after a couple of days in London. Hope those not too well are picking up, it’s damp here at the moment although not actually raining, but we have lit the stove and decided to have a day with TV on in background watching Tour de Yorkshire. Ladies Tour starts today, and then day 2 of men’s raceSome wonderful scenery and crowds.

Folks are out in some lovely parts of the UK. We have our MH to ready this weekend, we are off Up to NY Moors next week for a few days.

Not a bad day here, sunny off and on and quite mild.  Carpet bits now deposited with the binders, probably ready Monday.

We are both coughing again and last night mine has developed into a nasty cold, sore throat too.  Could be another bug Callum has brought home from nursery  frown
