What are you all up to

Mid May, just for four nights. Lockton, one of our favourites. Dartmoor and Devon will be August, shouldn’t be too fraught on the Moor, in between will be Wales.

Oh dear, that is bad. ☹️

Sorry to hear the news Millie. We had a front window delaminate quite a few years ago and it was the middle one of three so not as big as yours and it cost in excess of £500 then. We had it replaced and changed vans soon after. Best of luck with insurers. NTH's explanation sounds plausible.
Neighbours left the site before 7 this morning and we fell back to sleep.😴. So now a bit later going out. Off to do a walk near Otterton as it's not far to drive.
Stay safe folks.

Had a walk in bright sunshine along the river this morning. On the way home decided to call in at Morrison’s (other supermarkets available), what a mistake to make, it was absolutely mobbed, anyone would think it had been closed for 2 weeks not just 1 day! Carried on to Farm foods, we were the only people in there.
More pottering this afternoon then the exciting bit, looking on the Interweb for new caravans.

Hope you find a van Oneputt, I'm sure you will, the present one has let you down from what I read on here. Nice to start looking!
And Millie, hope the front of the van can be sorted asap.
In and out here, getting warm again but I think that will be it and then lots of rain...
Thousands of honey bees on the blossom, lovely sound but have to keep letting them out from inside our home too. We took a family guess on how many bees were in a hive (our neighbour has some.) Hadn't really taken on board how big the colonies are, we were all wrong!

Because we have had to clear some units and a worktop out of the utility room to give the gas fitters some room to work when they fit the new boiler we have started to wonder about a new kitchen!!! We decided to visit Wickes today to have a look at their range. It seemed a bit like Oneputt's Morrisons the car park was packed which I have never seen before. Anyway had a look round the various kitchens and asked a few questions. Hate to think how much it would cost. I fitted the current one many years ago but not sure I am up to doing it myself now!

Take a look at the range in Ikea, very sturdy and good prices.
I find the worst bit is hanging the wall units, you would need some help with lifting them up, but their newish rail system make it a bit easier and guarantees they will all be level.
Have you got a strong man who could help? I did some extra units in our kitchen last year and just got SIL to help lift the wall ones up as they were 800mm wide. Had we used 600mm ones I would have managed myself.
Soon going to be doing DD's utility room, so better get into training!

Not even closed for a day up here, only 2 days they close is Christmas day and New Years day. Most folk back at work today, only the lucky ones get it off up here.
Been busy in the garden today again! first a trip with the trailer to the recycle centre, all garden stuff.
Its been a hot day more like a good summers day.
Rain due for us on Thursday so need to get the feed down on the lawn on Wednesday save me having to water it in. We are going out for dinner tonight with our eldest grand daughter and her other grand parents. Then she is coming back with us for the night so we can take her back to boarding school tomorrow. Other grand parents still work and her Mum and Dad had to go back down the road to Wiltshire today as they go back to work tomorrow.

Why is it that things that were perfectly OK last autumn have developed problems?
First it was the brake lights. We half expected issues as we had a new car, but despite our best efforts and loads of advice they refuse to work. But they work OK on the trailer board so we’re happiesh.
Then it was the strut that holds up the front locker - come away from the fitting. Long stick acting as substitute for now.
Then the front offside side window’s “double glazing” has separated. Super Glue to the rescue.
We have checked the battery and water pump and they’re OK, so maybe it was just the three problems.
A busy work day tomorrow and a meeting at night, but come Wednesday we’re off!
I must remember to pack the drink

Back home after our lovely walk. Weather perfect for walking but only a shortish one of 6 miles today. Called in at a local farm shop for some tomatoes. They cost £20!
Well, the other items we decided we needed contributed.
Think we have 1 day of decent weather left, maybe part of Wednesday as well. It's been very enjoyable.

Happy St George's Day folks.
OH readmitted, blue light job, on Sunday he has pneumonia. Seemed to come from nowhere as we had a really good day Saturday!
Was due first visit by the cleaner today, another client having building work done so I got their slot 😃 but cleaner poorly 😢. Hope she's better by my proper slot next Monday!
Nice to read your posts.
Oneputt what a horrible report on your caravan 😲.
Milliehull what a discovery, hope the insurance will cover the cost.
Glad those away and others enjoyed the fabulous weather over the Easter weekend. Still warm here but very overcast.

Bakers, sorry to hear about your OH, it’s not that uncommon sadly. Hope that he is quickly sorted and back home with you.
My OH is currently playing nicely with his latest must have purchase, a water filter. Tea drinking to his family is a refined art, that search for the “perfect” cuppa is a life long tradition. Me? Can’t stand the stuff, might have the occasional cup of Earl Grey if pushed.😂

Starting to get back to normal after our trip, washing mountain all dealt with, car emptied and washed, but still some stuff to bring out of the van.
Have looked out some garden chairs and an umbrella to take to DD tomorrow, now they have a decent size garden and a shed to keep stuff in, no point in them buying stuff when we hardly ever use all the stuff we have. Have also promised them our big table and our gas BBQ, but I will need them to come and help lift those.
Otherwise we have been catching up on checking the credit card bills, and sorting out a new 12 month electricity and gas contract, prices seem to have shot up since last time we did that.

Not a busy day here today.
Sat around with grand daughter this morning for awhile, then after her shower I dried her hair for her, she has very long hair
then a spot of lunch/brunch before driving her to her boarding school in Dunblane. That's the first time we have not been required to help her unpack and put all her clothes away, just asked to help make her bed please granny
arrived home after stopping off on the way for shopping to find her toothpaste and toothbrush still in the bathroom
Dropped in on a MH dealer to see what they had re PVC nothing that took our fancy so will keep looking.
Bakers, sorry to hear OH's news, hope he makes a quick recovery.
We are back to chilly weather today, jacket once again needed when out, the wind isn't playing nice.

My fault, Bakers. I uncrossed my fingers. Best wishes.
Drove to outskirts of Sidmouth and walked into the seaside town alongside the river. It's called the Sid. Who'd have thunk it?
Very nice walk as the weather still very pleasant. Shirt sleeves and shorts. Town still just about thriving. Some nice architecture. Didn't stay long as we had an appointment with a Fish and Chip lunch in Exmouth at Krispies, voted F&C Shop 2019. Every Tuesday is Gluten Free day, hence the appointment. Worth the journey.Home to take the awning down, even though we're not moving until Friday. Want it dry going away.
Nice evening stroll over Aylesbeare Heath.
Ttda, I'm mainly a Coffee man ( just don't give me instant
) but there are times when only a cup of tea will do. Earl Grey? Yuk. Fake tea.

B2 sorry to hear that your other half is back in hospital. Probably the best place to effect a quicker recovery.
The boiler and bits arrived today by carrier and the fitter about an hour later at around midday. Not had any water for much of the day but the cold is back on now. It seems quite a task as we are changing both type of boiler and location. Today's work centred around stripping everything out like the old boiler, hot water tank and loft tanks and blanking off old pipes. Tomorrow will see the fitting of the new boiler and connecting it up to water, gas and electricity. The fitter is also booked in for Thursday, I assume just to tidy things up!

Oh Bakers2 so sorry to hear your OH is back in hospital. There seems to be no end to your troubles at the moment. I do feel for you. I hope he will be back home with you soon. All the best.
Another busy day at the cathedral. The supervisor I have been on duty with for the last few months has been promotef to a new post co-ordinating, recruiting and looking after the volunteers which is good but I shall miss him as he has been great to work with. The new guy started today and seems a really nice chap. He is also one of the Cathedral guides so I am looking forward to learning more about the Cathedral!
Still waiting for an estimate for the repair to our caravan window☹
I.hope you have a wonderful trip away Goldie. Glad to hear you are still enjoying Devon WN. Hope the change in the weather doesnt affect you too badly. Hope your next trip starts off well nellie. Where are you off to? You sound as though you have had a lovely family weekend tammygirl

Sorry to hear that your OH has been taken back into hospital, B2, hope that he's soon recovered and back home in no time at all.
Sounds like another good day, WN. Don't blame you getting the awing down early, the forecast for the next couple of days isn't too good.
A visit to the dentist for me to have what turned out to be two fillings done. Thankfully the threatened root canal treatment wasn't required. Mouth ached for a couple of hours after though. After the dentist it was into see the hygienist for both of us.....could have been an expensive day but fortunately we're with Denplan. Then off shopping for our supplies for our next trip. Van's now all loaded up apart from clothes and perishable food.

The car and caravan loaded - except for OH and his clothes. I had better go upstairs and check what he's packing. He has been known to forget things like jumpers/fleeces/trousers (and the way the weather is heading i think we will need them).
Then we're off! Bala here we come!

Have a great time Goldie

Still sunny here, but turning humid. Hope it rains to be honest, everything is so dry at the moment.

Very windy and humid here. We have had one short shower which did nothing for the garden which desperately needs some rain.

We have just had a two minute trickle. Irritatingly long enough to make doing anything in garden damp, but not enough to give anything a proper drink. Grrrr......☹️
