ATTN Nellie :--
I've just had a look at the Loch Garten Nest { via Carnyx Wild }
and, for a few moments, there were two ospreys & an attempted mating, so there is hope for your visit being a success
. Feed 'em a decent sized pike or trout for me, please !
Goldie :--
I'm never sure about those dates on things
. Well what I mean is if the arsenic is outside its best before date has it become more poisonous or less ??

Different day today, no gardening, although OH has been to empty the trailer again.
I've been in the kitchen doing some batch cooking, at the moment I've got both slow cookers on, Beef in Red wine in one and Bolognese in the other.
When they are finished I've got 2 curries to make for tomorrow when the family (Yorkshire ones) arrive to spend the night on their way North for a week. The children have requested a Korma but we adults are having something a bit more spicy
OH watching the qualifying for tomorrows GP having a late lunch. Once that's finished no doubt he will be back in his shed.
I've got beds to make up and the house to hoover and dust. A couple of things to go in the caravan then lucky me, I've got a big basket of ironing to do
Oh well at least its a indoors as its flipping cold outside today despite the sun playing hide and seek.

Dealing with a pair of broken hearts here. We had to have our lovely Millie put to sleep yesterday. Unexpected, but for the best. The house just seems too darn big at the moment.........๐ข

Sorry to hear your news TDA. One of my nieces lost 2 Boxer dogs in fairly quick succession and they said they wouldnโt have another, yesterday they announced they had just brought another which they pick up tomorrow.
Hope the wedding goes well B2, lit a candle for you both in Peterborough cathedral this morning.
Nice sunny day here but with a bit of a biting wind. Walked from Ferry Meadows into Peterborough and spent a while in the cathedral. Last time I visited was just after the fire which I sure Millie will remember. Had lunch at Weatherspoon's before getting the Nene Valley railway back to the van.

So very sorry to hear about your Millie TDA.It must be heartbreaking for you. They are such a large part of the family.
Glad you went to Peterborough Cathedral this morning OP. I hope you got a nice welcome and enjoyed your visit. The fire was in 2001 so it is a while since your last visit! I hope you got your Club discount on Nene Valley.

It doesnโt get any easier, now we are not working, they spend most of the day every day with us. But thank you one and all for your thoughts, we still have Choccy, and he needs lots of attention.
Hope Bakers and family had a good day, I hope it was a lot warmer than here as well for them.

So sorry to read your news about Millie, TtDA. We know how you are feeling and it never gets any easier no matter how many times you've been through it. When we lost Harry a friend and fellow dog owner said something which gave us great consolation - "better to let them go a day too early than keep them in pain a day too long".
We'll be thinking of you.

NTH, the CL was Bicknam, page 272 in this years book. Very convenient for Bath. Notwithstanding the comments about the approach, it's a little bit steep but not quite "Ranulph Fiennes" category.

Same sentiments from us two, Ttda. We were only talking to the CL owners yesterday about how difficult a decision it is but we all decided that, really, it's an easy decision, just hard on yourselves.
Wind rather brisk today but we donned cycling shorts and pedalled quicker for warmth. Had a good long cycle from just north of Hatherleigh to Bideford. Got back to the van and decided the awning had to come down if we wanted to get some sleep tonight. So a busy day. Which is the way we (meaning me) like it.
Hope the wedding went as planned for Bakers.

Really sorry to hear your sad news ttda, a difficult time , you will have some happy memories though, Best wishes.
We had a lovely walk around our local reservoir this afternoon, cold but sunny.
Started knitting a lacy shawl with some lovely merino wool I bought a while ago. Have to concentrate though as not to go wrong.

Thank you, you are all very kind. Best for her, if not for us, but you have to be strong for them. This house has a lot of little hairy ghosts ET, they are with us in spirit if not in fact. Not least all the little chew marks, scratches and teeth marks in books๐

Bath Marina is even more convenient with the Park and Ride just across the road!

Will do, ABM. I'll have a look at the webcam tomorrow when I'm less busy. Thanks for the gen.
Hope you are able to get away for a few days brue, and that the weather stays fine for you, and for you too Goldie,

Thanks CY. Guess that you thought the site was ok or you would have said otherwise.

Have a good and safe trip.

Indeed it was, NTH with a bus stop 200 mtrs away. Half the price of DK's suggestion of Bath Marina commercial with a slightly longer walk to the P&R.
The Boathouse gastropub, whilst pleasant, was a bit pricey for a drink.

Happy travelling ABM and Goldie. Stay safe in this wind.
Edit: sorry double post

Very bruef post!
Sorry to hear your sad news TTDA. My heart goes out to you both and Choccy.
Wedding was wonderful. Bright and very chilly. Niece's partner took their little one out as they said their vows and said there were flakes on snow coming down, enough to take shelter in their camper! Few spots of rain as we left the church, happy couple in chaffeur driven defender land rover, but the wind was bitter โ OH was great we stayed until 9pm then he flopped. Awoken by the dog barking at 1am groomsmen trying to get in front door with back door key ๐๐๐. Taking it easy this morning going to take grand dog home, good therapy for us both and the happy couple are making their way later in the wek to The Isle of Mull for a wedding next Saturday!
Off to pack our stuff while we await happy couple to return to sort out dog things. I've tidied , changed their bed, we used it so we're self contained for facilities, pegged the sheets out and got towels in the machine. Feeling much more like my old self ๐

Great post Bakers. Didn't seem that it was going to happen with you 2 there at one point. Skin of the teeth job.
Bad night last night. CL is a bit exposed, well you have to pay for the views, so very, very windy. Fortunately we took the awning down as a precaution yesterday. Up late this morning so will have lunch and then go for a stroll somewhere.

Glad you both managed to attend the wedding B2.
Where did the last 10 days go to? We are back home, washing on the line, car and van unpacked. We did everything and more whilst away except seeing fast jets flying at the Max Loop. ๐
Hopefully we will get away for a long weekend before my planned solo trips.
If I donโt doze off I will write a couple of reviews

Great news B2, glad to hear you both had a good time and you are feeling more like yourself again, hopefully your OH will be soon too.
Flipping cold here again today, the wind would cut you in two if you stand still for long enough. Winter coats back on when going out and wooly hat too.
House all tidy and stuff put away (sewing machine) curries made and in the slow cookers. Yesterdays beef in red wine tasted lush but its been put in a container and frozen for another day. We had the bolognese for tea last night that was also lush, its tastes much richer when made in the slow cooker. Enough left over to make a lasagne with it
Just waiting now for youngest son and his family to arrive from Yorkshire, they are staying for the night then going up to the north of Scotland until Friday. The children have not been any further north than here so are interested in what's there

So pleased your wedding went off really well Bakers, touch and go๐
Canโt believe how cold it is here today, we were frozen walking dog around local reservoir. Bumped into an old work friend, hadnโt seen her for years, somhad a quick if chilly catch up. Then I popped to Aldi to have a look at gardening stuff, some nice things in, but I resisted as couldnโt find what I went for, an obelisk for a clematis. Lots of decent looking caravanning stuff in.
Back home now, with stove glowing. Cooking dinner for Mum and Sis as well as us later.

Bakers2 glad you made the big day and managed to stay until 9pm๐. That must have been such an effort for you both. That's one milestone achieved.
TTDA - thinking of you both and sharing your sadness. Take care of each other.
It's been a bright sunny day but bitterly cold here. I did have plans to be in the garden but chickened out when I saw the outside thermometer reading -1๐ณ. I'm cooking roast beef for tea with a nice glass of wine. Work tomorrow but only for two days and then it's Easter time.
