David good to know it doesn't upset everyone. I've only heard from those that it does 😂.

Who knows what he's had over the last 3 months? We have quite a cocktail of drugs daily 😲 but not had aspirin for ages and the tummy injection, name escapes me!, stopped as he left hospital. Which is why duty out of hours suggested stopping it. Don't see a GP until 26 April, but district nurse is checking wounds and generally keeping an eye.

As an aside blood test yesterday for INR, surgery will phone with new dose - same as last Friday hen I had to chase.  No call again yesterday so i chased yesterday hadn't got results, we knew the numbers as phlebotomy nurse gave it instantly! Results could take up to a day to come through, if not heard by noon Thursday phone again. No call so I phone them after 1pm answerphone message saying they are closed for the bank holiday 😲😲😲. By a circuitous route I get hold of district nurse place who can't give answer to dosage but can contact GP electronically which they obviously did for me. Kept phoning and eventually answerphone message changed to practice closed for clinical group meeting! Did get a call from a very nice lady, who gave me her direct line 😉, and advised on new dose plus made request for next week's test at home. Why is everything such hard work and added stress?

Still beautiful here although wind rather chilly. Everyone else madly decorating the marquee etc and we're chillin - can't work their  TV so very peaceful 😂😂.  Off to rehearsal at 7.30 - all seems very real suddenly!

Have a nice evening B2, take it easy, hope everything goes well. smile

Lovely evening here but getting chilly now. Have been potting up things for a plant sale, OH has managed to grow a few trees from some Chinese Conkers he picked up last year, they look very pretty as saplings but I think they will grow on to much bigger things.

Hope you enjoy the Dartmoor CL WN, nice clear weather today to see the views.

Head off home tomorrow after four days in and around Bath. I'm all "Georgianed" out. Had a bit of an issue with the electric tripping out yesterday so had a spell on gas. Seems OK now but no apparent cause. I'll have to mention it at service in a couple of weeks. I'm wondering if it's an intermittent earth on the CL supply that could do it.

Totally creamed crackered, spent the whole day in the garden. Grass had its first cut of the year, then I went over the front garden grass with the new scarifier, what a difference. Back garden grass cut but will need to do scarify another day.

OH dug out  2 more bushes that I wanted rid of, then took them and lots more garden rubbish to the recycling centre. We are working at making the garden less work, its just killing us in the process laughing

Having a morning off tomorrow as we are meeting up with Mr and Mrs Kj.

Bakers2 - so glad to hear that you've made it the wedding. Sit back and enjoy the weekend. You both deserve it.

Year end is over at work for another year. 🍷👍🏻. OH has just finished two weeks of jury service in the coroners court.  Now we can look forward to a few days in the van on a lovely farm in the middle of nowhere. 😊

I think I know where you are WN, not far from Okehampton I am guessing. We did an overnighter on Nellie’s recommend and the lovely owners took us around the studio. Turns out she might have taken us out riding up on the Moor from Lydford House Stables, some 30 years ago! Very nice place, we would use it again. We usually stay in a cottage not far from North Bovey, tiny little hamlet called Lower Hookner. If you are in the area, the two churches at Gidleigh and Throwleigh are interesting, and Chagford is a lovely little place with a stunning church, some very nice shops. We can’t get the MH down the lanes there, usually go in Jeep though. Have a great time, it is a very special place.😁

We ate there a few times a fortnight ago. Excellent!

The site was very quiet then as well and we almost had the place to ourselves. Also, parking at The Needles was free prior to 1st April.

Congratulations to all those who've had a hectic few weeks on end of financial year work.  Good luck with online tax etc for this year. Enjoy a bit of a respite whilst you can 😉.

Had a few tears through the rehearsal, 42 years to the day that OH and I moved in  together, 20 months before tying the knot 😉😉. We were back and in bed about 9pm, just a bit awake now hence the post! Forgot to pack my book, can't think why 😂😂.

Heard son and groomsmen come in no idea of time, they were quiet  but not our house so alert 😂. First time they've been together in months 1 teaches in Bangkok other just qualified as airline pilot, wasn't a catch up over drink but decorating marquee etc.! Good job they've been together since babies in arms 😂😂.

Tammygirl as usual you seem  to fit several days work into a few hours I admire your stamina, well actually I'm jealous and have been a long time.

Sounds like folks away are enjoying walks and sites as well as sights - keep it up. And those at home are very productive. Isn't spring, especially if the sun is shining, a wonderful time of the year?

Good morning to you B2, it certainly is a wonderful time of the year👍🏻. I was awake 3.5hrs after you, the light levels are up @ 05:30hrs on the East coast. The Dogs & me watched the sun rise @ 06:10hrs-stunning as it rose over the strip of low cloud making them orange clouds with silver linings😊. Enjoy your day.

So glad you made it Bakers2. Well done on the driving, not always easy when not used to it. I hope you managed to get back to sleep. It sounds as though it is going to be a really wonderful day. So looking forward to hearing all about it.

We got to N. Ireland OK. Very good journey. I decided on a small rucksack that I could have on my back and a small 4 wheel suitcase that I could manage so OH could concentrate on walking with his stick. He is at least now walking rather than hobbling and managed the aircraft steps. Very early morning here and great excitement as it is grand-daughters birthday. I have walked both grandchildren (and the dog) to school and dog and I are now sitting in the conservatory with a cup of tea (me) looking out over Strangford Lough.

    Mornin'  you  Lot laughing.

Gorgeous but cool in the County Palatine this morning. Colder than I,  and the bloody phlebotomist, wanted surprised.  I've now got punctures in both arms - the usual ( left ) one decided to hold a 'go slow' and only just filled one tube, so  the right arm, the one that does the real work**, is now resting too, having had to fill the other three.

Following the retirement of my dentist & meeting his replacement on Wednesday, I noticed a sign on the Clinic Door saying my usual doctor is now on a slow withdrawal of his services.  So  that'll  be  yet another one I'll have to break in and retrain - life is never easy  wink

Hope everybody is as  cheerful as  Bakers2 seems to be this (very) early morningsmile

**  Real  work -- involves buttering the toast, stirring the coffee and other onerous dutiesinnocent

The sunshine makes such a difference! But it's chilly this morning, hoping it will warm up like it did later yesterday.

Pleased you both got to NI ok Millie, I can well imagine the view over Strangford Lough!

OH is busy planting out "stuff" in the garden that I put in place yesterday, he's lucky he gets a day off at Silverstone tomorrow with some pals. wink

I've cleared out another lot of unwanted belongings ready for a local jumble sale tomorrow. Still more to go but that will have to wait till next time, can't quite work out how we have accumulated all these things over the years considering we started out with a few hand me downs from the family. We must have been the too willing recipients of everything going!

This pic brings back happy memories of a great holiday on the IOW last year. I can see 'our' pitch in your photo. We loved taking a walk to The Pointers Inn up the road and sitting out in the beer garden watching the sun set.

     Brue -

We must have been the too willing recipients of everything going!

We always said, never refuse anything or nothing will be offered in the future. So we too have a house full of "stuff". Plus we've always been willing to store things for the children, which they never want back.

Yes! And for years we had what was known as Neddy's Ear, it turned up in drawers and boxes in the various places we have lived. Neddy's Ear has only recently gone back to it's owner, one of our children. The furry ear was the only remaining bit of a once loved small  rocking horse! I bet it will turn up on their house moves now. Future generations will puzzle over it...laughing

The visit to the RNLI manufacturing unit in East Cowes this morning .Normal days for the tours are Tue' or Thur' 10-30 for an hour.Tours are free ,but there is a donation box in the office at the end ,and a shop too.Bookings can be made by phone ,01983-292521.To see how these Ribs/boats are made and put together ,is worth seeing.

Met a member there ,JVB66 and his Brother, and the Wives ,.makes a change to put a face to a name .We retired to the nearby pub' of the same name "Lifeboat" ,and sat with food and drinks on the terrace overlooking the river Medina and East Cowes Marina ,in pleasant sunshine.

Easy 3.5 hours drive from Wales to Ferry Meadows yesterday.  Really like this site, think it’s value for money.  After setting up walked over 5 miles through the park.  Today went to Rutland water and watched 2 x Ospreys before going on to visit Burghley House.  Didn’t go in the house cos at £20/each thought it too much as we had been before, satisfied with walking around the park.

Back home after 4 days at a CL on the outskirts of Bath. First time I've driven round the Salisbury ring road without having a nose to trail crawl. Couldn't believe it. Even the roadworks on the M27 weren't too bad.

I know the churches you are referring to. It's quite a few years since we've visited this particular part of Devon so it's nice to come back. The accomodation on the CL seems perfect for a couple. Thinking of bringing MiL down with the van and using the lodge for her.

Had an enjoyable cycle today and seen more sun than we were supposed to. A bit of a bite in the wind though. Listening to new bird arrivals was joyful and we have 3 Swallows flying around the CL.

Either another bike ride tomorrow or a walk up to Yes Tor and vice versa for Sunday.

Quieter relaxing day today, weather not so good as yesterday in fact its gone chilly and dull again frown

Had a coffee and catch up chat with Mr&Mrs Kj at the 'Horn' today. We then went into the dealership next door for a nosy round. Didn't see the PVC's that we wanted to as none in but salesman says they are due in within a week or so. Left our details for him to call when they arrive. We did see another one that ticks the boxes but a bit on the expensive side once everything has been added that's on our wish list. Will have to spread our search area as not much choice round here.

Bakers2 glad you've arrived safely and managed to rest awhile, please don't be envious of moi I ache like mad today, one day I will learn when to stop and call it a day laughing

Hope all away finds nice weather and that everyone has a good weekend.

Just been catching up with all the news this weeks, so apologies to all that I forget to mention.

Glad that those that are away in their units have reached their respective destinations success fully. Hope you have a good time over in NI, Millie, & good to hear that OH is managing to walk instead of hobble.

CY if you don't mind me asking which CL did you stay on near Bath?

For all those that are are home this weather has been great for working in your gardens.

Good to hear that your site at Oakhampton is living up to my recommendation, WN. Thanks should really go to Tigerfish as it was he that pointed it out to me. There are lots of great places close by to visit, we found.

Great to hear that you've seen the Ospreys in Wales and at Rutland, OP, and that they've been seen at Loch Garten, as we'll be heading there in a few week's time.

B2 your news is uplifting. It's great that you've made it to the wedding venue and that all is going well for both you and your OH. Enjoy your day tomorrow, but don't overdo it.

We returned home on Tuesday, after 61 nights away, so it's back to caravan cleaning and sorting out the garden before we set again after Easter.

OH managed to get all the washing done and dried when we got home before our daughter arrived, bearing gifts.....chocolates for our next trip, bags of books, and a Barbour coat for me!! Great to see her before she heads again, this time to Portugal then Poland. We dined out, went walking on the beach and up on Urswick Common and talked deep into the 2 nights she was with us! I even managed to get some of the inside of the van cleaned today. Tomorrow I'll be laying paving stones, a job I've been putting off until the weather picked up, so no excuse this weekend.

It's all change on our farm this month. Our one employee (part time) has left after 47 years with us. He worked with four generations from my late father-in-law, husband and son - to our 15 year old grandson. And he's still younger than my husband. No stamina say I!

And now we have someone new. He will also be part time - but longer hours - including weekends (which we've never had cover for before). We also have a student one day a week.

The first immediate affect is a few days away! We're off to the CCC site at Bala for four nights just after Easter. We've not been down to Wales for years, but a friend at Dolgellau is having a bad time so we will spend some time with him.

So, it's time to unwinterise the caravan, stock it with food and drink (and a few clothes). We checked the cupboards yesterday and found 3 packs of pre-cooked rice and some out of date spices.

Nice to hear you managed to see your daughter Nellie.

I think we'll try and get the M/H out for a few day trips, I'm suffering from cabin fever. We're an easy drive from the less crowded Somerset coast near Dunster etc and Exmoor so will hatch a plan. smile
