That's for link ttda, will look our for billybobs in May. Just discovered there is a Booth's at Media City, may have send youngest son on a shopping trip, as he works there for the bbc.
Been cloudy and dull today, took the dog for a sneaky walk around what will be our new country park sandwiched between the 2 large new housing estates. They have planted lots of trees and I think it will be ok when it's finished. At the moment we can only get in at weekends when they aren't working.
Just finished large pile of ironing while OH has been out in the garage. Cuppa time now.
Have a good trip JVB66.

Arrived on the new to us CL yesterday, set up then headed off to local Winchcombe, finding a car space early afternoon no less
, and stretched the legs for 6 or so miles.
Another dry day today so up to Cleeve Hill and around to Belas Knapp burial chamber. A good tramp around the area for about 8 miles. Feel better now that I've had a couple of walks. MIL tells Mrs WN to "Stick him on a lead and take him for a walk" (She loves me really).
Moulesy, are you at Cirencester for long? We're only here for another 3 days so if fancy a coffee let me know.
Not fair.
Can't have Hot Cross Buns but when I could then I'm with Brue - Don't mess them about. They seem to do that with too many things these days.

Are you at Pardon Hill CL Wherenext?

Yes. Quite weird really. When we reversed the van onto pitch I was certain that I would need to use a block to level it, not because of the hill slope but because I thought the owners had overdone the levelling. But I'm wrong (yet again). I still can't believe it, even though all indications, like doors shower draining and cooking prove it is level.
Just had the steam train puff passed us.

OH chose some new glasses yesterday after his eye test results changed, the Optician also told him to keep up with the Glaucoma checks due to NHS ideas about cutting back, they appear to be extending the length of time between checks for some.
My Mum had Glaucoma so they are keeping a fairly lose eye on me β¦.. for the moment. It's a grey, cold old day here today.
I am not sure about the 'fancy' hot X buns. I like the good old traditional ones.
I hope all is going well for Bakers2 and her OH.

No Problem really, TDA, coming from Cheshire
I could head north to Carlisle(ish) then east
OR I could head north and then cross country via Skipton(ish)
Or I could head M62 then A1(M) or ,, ,, ,, ,, ,,
really ought to come across the AA recommended route somewhere along my journey

Hoping for better weather tomorrow as we plan to head north toTain and Dornoch.
Kjell, when you're up at Dornoch have a look in at Davochfin CL, it's one we use on a regular basis, and will be there again in May.

WN, say Hi to Jo from us. Hopefully we'll be calling in again later in the year. It's another of our favourite CLs. Did you walk up to Cleeve Hill from the site, or park up by the golf course?

It's been a bit mixed weatherwise today, starting off cloudy and cool with the sun only coming out mid afternoon, but then it was warm enough to sit outside again. Set off walking from the site with the intention of reaching the top of Gummer How, but found that the path from Chapel House Wood had been obliterated by forestry work. However found other paths that we'd not trod before so still had a decent 3 1/2 hr walk in the end.

We have had a nice day today. It was very misty this morning and a bit rainy so we spent the morning relaxing in the van then headed into Seahouses in the afternoon. We had a pleasant couple of hours walking about and visiting the RNLI station also got some nice sausage rolls from Trotters the local bakers very nice and recommended for anyone in the area. After that we took a drive and came across Preston Tower which was excellent Β£2 enterance fee in a little honesty box lovely place quite a few stairs to the top but well worth it for the views if anyone is in the area it is worthwhile paying it a visit we loved it and hope to return. We rounded off the day by taking a drive to the causeway leading to Holy Isle the tide was in but we got ice cream from the van there and sat for a while admiring the view. After we came back to the van I went to the pub near to the site for a couple of pints while SWMBo was watching the TV i think she was wanting rid of me for a while lol. We come here often but love this area always worth a visit and great viiews from the site.

Been reading posts as light relief, lovely to read of trips and news.
I'm struggling at the mo, OH doing well and looks much better. Bowels are still an issue, so much so I rang the out of hours service Sunday before 6am Dr arrived 5pm. Stopped one tablet for stomach lining as not necessary and known for this symptom and prescribed another. This issue has after 4 weeks been taken a bit more seriously. County town and all pharmacies closed by 4.30pm so 16 mile round trip to get prescribed meds, which my brother who was here for moral support and when Dr arrived went to get. Carers morning and evening get him up and to bed. Today's carers very rushed, heaven help you if you live alone!
I'm struggling because I think it's all hit home very hard, and I'm trying to sort out getting us, or just me if things dont improve, to the wedding on Saturday and care for him. Brother getting my Drs appointment as I can't face the hassle! Just heard has has got me an appointment with nurse practitioner he'll come and sit with OH while I go.
Son down on Saturday for longer than expected, he hadn't seen OH for 2 weeks saw huge difference, gave me a few hours off and I rested.
I'm sure if the bowel issue can be managed well both make it to the wedding. I've got contingency plans coming together, it's just distance 1.5 hours for those used to driving the route, but I'll be slower. Too much to do in one day as wedding at 1.30pm.

Glad to hear OH is Γ¬mproving, but stillit seems not easy on you, I can understand how you are, I was confined to bed after release from hospital back in 1993 and OH had it all to do (but much younger then) do not over do it as it will not be helping either of you

Bakers2, I do feel for you. You must be exhausted with the worry and extra work. Take heed of what JVB says. Do not overdo things as it will not help either of you if you are taken ill. I am glad you have the help of your brother. Make sure you take up any offer of help at this time. I do hope things improve this week and that you can get to your son's wedding. Where is the wedding going to be held? Take care x

Thanks for your comments. I'm doing my best to heed your words. Vital stuff only being done, M&S meals proving very useful. I like my bridges crossed before I get there! Dr very supportive have some sleeping pills, to be used sparingly so hopefully couple of proper sleeps will help. Brother fell about laughing at sparingly comment - was i supposed to lick them? π. Gave me relaxant pills too I've taken one and rested up whilst OH asleep.
Milliehull the wedding is in Glatton just south of Peterborough.

B2, I've been out this morning and was just about to add a similar reply to previous ones but pleased to hear now you have had a chat and support from the GP. A couple of knock out sleeps will probably help you a lot, it's no doubt just sheer exhaustion after weeks of stress. The wedding will look after itself, I think they can be very stressful to those closer to the happy couple, so take a step back and let others sort things out, just go along as a guest and let others come up and speak to you rather than doing the usual rounds.
The husband of a friend of ours had a heart attack five weeks before his daughter's wedding, everything went on hold, the speeches went out of the window and do you know something, it was still a lovely wedding! So my thoughts are with you, let things take their natural course.

Wise words from everyone, B2.
Take it easy.

Bakers, your number 1 and 2 priorities are the welfare of your OH and Yourself. Nothing else at this moment in time matters. Stop worrying about the wedding (as if). If you feel it's a bridge too far then don't go. Get someone to video stream it for you , if you can. Or pay for a chauffeured car to take you and OH to the service and back. Everyone should be understanding if you don't go to the reception. Just take care of yourself otherwise you'll be no good for OH. Sincere best wishes to you both.
Feel free to ignore all of the above if you wish.

Bakers - for what it's worth you've got to think about yourselves first and not worry about the wedding. Days like this are like Christmas - a long time coming and fantastic if you can enjoy it but can become a worry and hassle very quickly that isn't enjoyable!
Well, camping time has arrived again for us
We packed our van away last September but the other week it got a full wash and wax and on Thursday it's in for it's annual service. Then first trip away over Easter to Troutbeck. I can't wait!!! Work has been a bit of a nightmare of late with loads of travelling around and although people think it must be great travelling for work it's not as great as it sounds believe me. I'm sick of hotels so really looking forward to my caravan in a field.
Have a fab Easter everyone!

B2, you sound just like my aged sister !!
Took he into town today 'cos the regular weeks schedule's all to pot. Dropped her at the bank then drove round the block to ASDA carpark, grabbed two trolleys then waited.
Half hour later Sis came trudging 'n gasping up the slope. Where have you been ?? Well I popped into a shop for some Batteries, then into "Works" for a couple of kids presents, then I was passing the book shop ( Waterstones ) and ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,,
All, each & every one of these could have been done more easily and with less stress if only she had accepted some help.
still we got the ASDA shopping done with her using the trolley for support (!) and finally got her home. I unloaded the shopping while she made us both a coffee. Even then the silly girl insisted in replacing the batteries herself fiddling & faffing about while her coffee went cold.
All for the want of asking for and accepting a little HELP !!
Much as we might try we cannot do everything ourselves B2
So Take it steadily & take all the previous advice to heart PLEASE
B
