As others have said B2 look after yourself and OH. With regards of the wedding I understand that you both want to be there, just a thought, could you either get someone to take you there in your M/H or you go by car and for someone to take your M/H there, so if you or OH wants to rest you have your own place to chill.  Was your husband on Lanzaporol, I know of many who have had terrible stomach and bowel issues whilst taking them, which quickly improved when they stopped.

B2 I was at a wedding a few years ago where the grooms father was not well at all and the family hired a medical care company to get him to the church.  The Bride and Groom also changed the order of the day so the speeches and cake cutting came before the photos and wedding breakfast.  I think it was quite expensive but the family were really made up that everyone could join in.  Hope whatever happens it turns out right for you all.

Absolutely shattered, been in the garden all day digging out plants that are not earning their keep. OH been busy with the caravan doing jobs.

Weather was very nice today, sunny still chilly but much nicer than grey skies and rain.

Washing line full of washing blowing in the breeze, all dried and smelling lovely.

Tomorrow OH is back at the dentist for another big filling replacement. I'm off to the opticians for my annual eye check up, had an appointment a week ago but had to cancel as full of the cold.

Bakers2 nice to hear from you again, as others have all said take it one day at a time and don't over do it. It will all sort itself out, you've got OH home now and he is improving just focus on that.

Dull day here but still went to lake Vymry.  Had a 6 mile walk, up hill and down dale, the training in Norfolk came in useful.  Stunning area with lots of wildlife showing.

Another lovely day spent in the hills.

Warm in the valleys at 14C but about zero with 30+ mph winds where this was taken.

    Where is it?

Cheers. When we walked up we didn't go as far as Bellas Knapp. Did that by walking up from Winchcombe.

Have you managed to get over to Stanton "arguably the most beautiful Cotswold village of them all"? Free car park and good area for a walk up onto the escarpment.

B2, all I can do is echo all the advice that others have given you. Looking after yourself & OH must be your priority. Hope that you are able to get a few hours good sleep tonight.

Lovely sunny day but a very cool wind. Visited Windermere this morning for a short walk and then did a circular route over School Knott this afternoon. Views were ok but not as clear as on Saturday on Hampsfell. Came back through Bowness and was surprised just how busy it was, with queues for the steamers and at the ice cream parlours.

Last night of our trip, home in the morning.

Beautiful weather here today, sunny and warm all day. OH has worked all day in the garden again and has taken a load of stuff from garden and garage to our brand new recylcling centre. He was most impressed. I did loads of washing - bedding, towels, chair and cushion covers from the conservatory and gave the conservatory a really good clean. A very satisfactory day. I think we will have a change in the weather tomorrow unfortunately. I must now get ready for our trip to N. Ireland on Thursday for grand-daughter's birthday. I have no idea what clothes to pack!!

Not a bad day here today. I got up early and went a nice cycle it was quite cold but I was just glad to be out on the bike again. Came back to the van had breakfast then we headed in to Alnwick what a lovely little town we have been before but not for a few years but glad we went back. We had planned to do a pub lunch but after looking at some of the prices in the pubs in Alnwick we scrapped that idea and got soup and sausage rolls from Greggs and ate them in the car. The site is quite busy now due to the school holidays it is very cold outside now so heating on.

B2 best wishes to you both i hope you can both make the wedding

A bright sunny day here in south Cumbria, but with a chilling breeze. OH has gone off to roll some fields on our land a few miles way from the main farm. So he's got a packed lunch and I'm free to do what a want.

So far I've made a Coffee & Walnut Cake (my absolute favourite), and other varieties may follow.

Yes spot on. Brilliant day all round. Came up from Glenridding through Green side mine then up the zig zags (btw Wainwright lies about them being easy) to white side. Over to Helvellyn then back over whiteside to Raise then sticks pass to the nine again. Resting tiday!

Fancied doing Helvellyn years ago, but put off by ‘Striding Edge’ 🙄 We did do the Fairfield horse shoe, loved that, although the descent had a long-lasting effect on the knees!

My Dad took on Striding Edge years ago, we asked him how he got on and he said in his Canadian accent that "he'd lost his darned cap up there." So if anyone's passing it might be fossilised by now. wink

Best weather of the trip so far  today, very sunny, and warm when sheltered from the wind.

We had a walk around up on the hill overlooking Dingwall, though the trees are so tall now the view is limited, then a walk round the town, where OH blew the budget in the excellent hardware store buying new heavyweight baking trays, and a serving dish that will be DD's birthday present come June.

Back to the van with a freshly baked baguette for lunch, then later we had a walk along the canal and shoreline just by the site.  Bit windy out by the water.

    Last day here tomorrow.

Another great day in West Wales, sunny and bright.  Walked around a couple of reserves, about 8 miles then treated ourselves to fish and chips, ate in car overlooking stunning scenery

Striding Edge walk is great, particularly if you have a frightened Westie stuck under one arm!smile We walked in from Grasmere via Dollywagon, over the top and caught the bus back as would rather climb up with a dog under the arm than down!

Nellie - Went to Stanton last time we were here so giving it a miss this time. Jo sends her best and looks forward to taking more money off you soon.

Wet when we got up so decided to visit Berkeley Castle. A bit of a drive but worth it. Also called in at Dr.Jenners house adjacent to the castle. What history packed into 2 adjacent places. Brilliant day.

We got home early this afternoon from a lovely 4 night stay at Berwick Seaview C&MC site typically the weather was lovely this morning just as we were packing up. Managed to get out a cycle on Monday morning which was nice. We had an easy 3 hour drive home today avoiding the rush hour traffic around Edinburgh and Glasgow which was a bonus. Weather was nice when we got home so went to the local butchers and got some steak to cook on the BBQ which was great it really felt like a summers evening. Away again on Friday for a couple of nights just local but still looking forward to it

Glad you had a good break Francis, we are hoping to get away for a few days in May, have got to give the van a really good clean out but the weather is putting me off starting. It sounds better up your way.

WN, on Striding Edge with a Westie under your arm gives me vertigo at the thought! (Then I thought of all those pianos on Ben Nevis and got it into perspective!) wink

Whilst the web site was off air we had a lovely evening celebrating a friends birthday, he had invited eight of us out for a meal. Sadly he's moving away soon and we will miss him a lot.

That sounds like an evening of mixed emotions brue. I wouldn't want to do Striding Edge with a Westie under one arm either!  Hope you get away soon.

We are off to N. Ireland tomorrow for a few days for grand-daughter's birthday.  OH has got an attack of gout so it could be an interesting journey there with me carrying everything and him hobbling behind with a walking sticksurprised
