Composed this and then found site maintenance so it's now hours later! Another full nights sleep for us both - what a difference that makes ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

Tuesday - Well here's today's laugh! District nurse came in to check wounds, discussion on bowels etc as we'd just had an explosion before her arrival. Light bulb moment on my part, found we had 2 pkts of the  same tablet different packaging and instructions, 1 take morning with water, other dissolve on tongue in evening. No one talked me through pills! On arrival home I sorted into giving times morning, noon and night and listed so i could date and time when given. Naturally they're then ones that cause the poos! Lansoprazole So stopped one dose on Sunday but gave single dose Monday with a codeine tablet which succeeded in its aim! And Tuesday just the Lansoprazole which proved it is the culprit ๐Ÿ˜ข Previously double dosed since leaving hospital ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. No wonder I thought it had got worse! Not normally so dumb! Just given meds in a bag, I sorted and listed by times of giving morning noon and night. Noticed one drug same name both given morning so put elastic band round them but missed the other. Can I plead tiredness?? It continues to show level of lack of care and attention to detail offered by the hospital. Suspect all meds just bagged and not checked.... and handed over.

Things looking much better for the wedding ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. My pills have given me two good night's sleep feeling more like my old self. I am taking all advice on board. Friends have shopped and gardened for me, M&S (other sellers are available) have stocked my freezer with dinners! We've had snooze as and when required ๐Ÿ˜‰

Visit from early support discharge team Tuesday,  upshot she not impressed no home assessment offer of equipment etc or the fact that discharge notes say admitted 7 March not 25 January ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ 2 hours of her life she won't get back! She very impressed with OH, and me ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜‚. OT and physio due too over next few days but will make appointments by phone. OH confident on the stairs and uses bum if necessary ๐Ÿ˜ฒ, has enjoyed walking and sitting in the garden watching his pond and the birds. It's amazing what sleep and being at home has done for both of us.

I'm feeling much more positive and more like myself.  Today was 1st day since January OH not had a sleep, too much going on today! But he has rested whilst he was grilled by therapist and treated by the district nurse ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Hopefully today will show results of no  Lansoprazole at all ๐Ÿ˜†

Son & DIL2B  have arranged lots to accommodate us both before, during and after the ceremony here's hoping we get to see them married ๐Ÿ˜‰. We have access to hall opposite the church and house nearest to barn with bed etc for resting in the latter, and they're working on everything else. Lots of friendsand family on hand to assist too. Including driving us if necessary fingers crossed,it's been his goal and I'm sure the reason he's done so well to date.

Thanks again for all your support and allowing me to vent my spleen which in turn has allowed me to keep any sanity I had.

Beautiful day here packed stuff now loaded car very full, hopefully offing the morning. Realise how much OH did. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ and will do again in time. Hats off to Artyboo - I really admire you and aim to reach your standards in due course but baby steps at present.

Milliehull have a great time in NI hope OH gout improves and you haven't packed too much! I've just  added thinner tops for me as it's warm but I think wind could be keen out of the shelter of the garden where I'm enjoying golf a bit or R&R in the full sun๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

To everyone else great to read of your doings continue enjoying golf whatever you do and keep posting!

B2. So pleased that things are definitely taking a turn for the better. It certainly sounds as though both you and OH are making really good progress. As you say 2 nights good sleep and pottering about at home and in the garden make a huge difference. I have been very cross with hospitals over the years over the lack of care, attention and information on taking meds home. You are just given a bag of meds and expected to get on with it. I am glad you have it sorted out now. I hope you have a lovely day for the wedding. Glatton is a lovely little village.  I hope the sun shines on you all. cool

Milliehull from what we've seen of Glatton  it is a lovely village we were at a village dinner, all home cooked and transported by cooks to the village hall for 70 ๐Ÿ˜ฒ in January our last outing before EVENTS!  We, DIL2B, were one half of roast potatoes team. Village where she grew up. Son and her now live in Sawtry. Do you live closeby? Be good to meet up if so in due course.

Blood sucker has taken  blood and given results for  test ready for warfrin dose so everything ticked off the list and it's not Friday so if I can't get hold of updated doses today  from drs i have  tomorrow unlike last week when it was Friday.

Now I can truly switch off and enjoy the sun and the garden ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.  Hope you all can too ๐Ÿ˜‚

Oh tricky get well soon. Glad it's not stopped you getting out and about. Continue to enjoy your trip.

Milliehull that sounds like a very nice idea. Let's hope it's not too long!

Oneputt seems like Peterborough is the place to be ๐Ÿ˜‰. Safe journey and enjoy your stay, it's a site we like because of its location. Not only near son but lovely walks direct from site, trains and Peterborough itself and the surrounding areas. Not sure well be using the site in the very near future - calendar filled with hospitslmappointments for OH and date confirmation for my cataract op in June- to mention getting motorhome up and running ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Best wishes for the wedding as well Bakers. Lansaprozole is one of those do I need it, donโ€™t I need it meds. Getting it slightly wrong can have spectacular outcomes....... Hope you all have a lovely day. Donโ€™t let OH overdo it.

Trikey, best wishes to you as well for a swift recovery.

I have been playing โ€œhouseโ€ all day. Our new furniture has arrived, and I have been trying to work out what goes where, and with what so it looks nice. OH has kept out of way, welding something in garage. No Anglo Saxon words yet, so I think he has had a good day as well. Sadly we do have a poorly dog though. Golden Lab has either got a severely infected ear, or a tooth problem. Her poor little face is badly swollen, and she wonโ€™t eat a thing. But still drinking well. Hopefully antibiotics will do the trick, she is back at vets Friday. If no improvement, then it will be Xrays and whatever else is required. Heartbreaking when they cannot tell you what is wrong, so worrying.๐Ÿ˜•

Brue,  Thank  you  for  your  kind  thoughts  wrt my  dental  visit  today

I  only  found  out  very  early  on  today  that  my  dentist  has  retired  and  the  new  one  already  has  a  practice  in  Wilmslow  but  seems  to  be  competent,  capable  &  willing laughing.  Well  it  only  hurt  when  I  was  paying,  but  markedly  less  than  last  time  surprised.

Asked  at  reception  what  the  Retired  One  will  do  now  we  are not  dragging  him  in  for  slave  labour,  and  I  was  told "  Darned  fool  has  bought  a  camper  van  thingy,  he's  going  to  tour  round  Britain  for  a  few  months  money-mouth "  it  went  all  quiet  when  I  said  I've  had  one  of  them  since  1979  !!

Have  to  say  that  despite  everything  else ( dentist,  Cold  wind,  Birds  bath  frozen  etc  etc  )  I'm  feeling  much  happier  now  I've  read  B2's  postings  ==  Shoots  are  beginning  to  show  even  if  everything  is  not  coming  up  roses  just  yet  they  are  getting  much  better  --  Keep  up  the  good  news  PLEASE  B2

    Bakers๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ

MillieH - Much sympathy and empathy to OH from fellow Gouter. Enjoy N.I. as much as you can.

When walking in the Lakes we often came across areas that needed a bit of rock scrambling and I would find myself lifting our dear Westie onto higher areas when her little legs couldn't manage the scramble. She would then make her way as far as the next impossible scramble and wait for me. She was a grand dog and would accompany us up to tops day after day. Fond memories.

After reminding Mrs WN of Stanton and Snowshill walk as mentioned by Nellie last night she decided to change our walk today so that's where we ended up. A delightful 8 mile stroll through lovely Cotswold countryside. Took the awning down when we got back. Off to Dartmoor area tomorrow.

Lovely sunny day here today, warmer than yesterday too, no wind.

OH decided to clean the roof solar panels, not to much of a problem as we are only single storey. Hose pipe and a brush on a long extendable pole. BIL brought out his pressure washer but as OH switched it on water came gushing out of the handle and soaked him laughing he was not amused frown

I decided to strip the bed and give the windows a clean, then a quick hoover through.

After lunch we went into town then up to the hospital for OH's audiology appointment. They are going to give him new hearing aides, so once we come back from holiday he has another appointment for a hearing test and new aides.

Bakers2, great to hear OH is making improvements. Being home and having company works wonders. Have a great time at the wedding but don't overdo it.

WN, sounds like you are having a good time, wish I had your energy 5 miles is about my limit for walking.

MillieH, have a good time in Ireland hope OH's gout improves.

I will try and keep the sun here for your visit to Ferry Meadows.  It would have been good to have another mini meet while you are at FM but we are off to see our son and his family in N. Ireland tomorrow so not possible this time unfortunately.  Hope you have a good time and also hope that you mange to see the heron and the kingfisher in the wildlife area at FM.

Last night we opened up the caravan - first time since last summer. It's parked in the field behind the house and gets the evening sun - like a mobile conservatory.

OH replaced a light bulb over the kitchen and twiddled with the fridge catch (which sometimes doesn't catch), while I sat and drank wine.

The peace was shattered when we heard loud mooing and bawling from the barn. A batch of cows had a gate open and were enjoying themselves - muck everywhere and a trampled lawn mower now in several bits.

Maybe we can getaway soon for some peace and quiet.

Yesterday we went up again and found ourselves on Helvellyn again. Didn't plan to but the route to nethermost and dollywagon pikes from Wythburn passes close enough to it and as the weather was absolutely fantastic we quickly went up.

Wall to wall blue sky yesterday and little wind. Actually got a touch of sunburn too.

The photo is Dollywagon pike looking back towards Nethermost pike and Helvellyn .

Interesting your other half has had trouble with this medication. I have been taking it for quite a few years now with, fortunately, no such ill effects. It has several uses one of them to protect the stomach when taking stronger painkillers which is mainly why I take it. Margaret takes something similar, but stronger, for years because she has a hiatus hernia, again with no ill effects that we know of! I suppose the trouble is that given what your poor OH has been through in the last month or so he has so much swilling around in his body, medication wise,  that it doesn't take much to cause an upset. Good to hear he is making progress.
