GGreat News @Goldie146 . Take it easy and hopefully you should be able to enjoy some proper fresh air.
@Takethedogalong worrying times. I hope your mum is improving.
@Wherenext looks like a nice outing. Currently your MIL has more energy than me 🤐
As @milliehull says bright day but not as warm and sunny around here. I managed a dog walk, then headed to Serpentine Green for a few bits that couldn't wait any longer. Popped into the newly refitted Aldi on my way home, for similar shopping. I noticed petrol prices have jumped up. OH has a tummy bug.....
Whinge over..the sun definitely makes you feel better.

It sounds as though you need a tonic @Bakers2 I do hope you feel better soon and also that your OH soon recovers.

I've been on Floradix for 3 weeks. Usually sorts me quickly and I drop to half doses, full on still. Some days better than others. I'm scared it's cos I had a big birthday this year just as it started 🫣🙃
MMight Have to 'brave' drs 0800 or online, but that only works when they're open and have appointments 🤐. I had a chest xray almost 3 weeks ago, no trace on my NHS app. Nurse practioner said results in 2 weeks, radiographer said a day. First time I've not been impressed with this GP practice. That maybe the thousands of new houses that have gone up, and are still building with no infrastructure 😡

Sorry to hear the news of your mum, @Takethedogalong and hope that she is getting better. It must have been a very worrying day or two for you all.
Grand to read that you are back home at last @Goldie146 it must be a great relief to you and the rest of your family too.
I hope you are will soon be feeling better @Bakers2 it has taken quite a while for you to shake your malaise off. Fingers crossed that your OH is soon over his infection.
Nice photos of Llandudno @Wherenext glad you all were able to get out for a refreshing walk.

After a rather misty start the day brightened up nicely, although it was notcas warm as the previous two. We parked at Langcliffe and walked down to the Langcliffe Quarry where we had our lunch and there is a nature trail around the remains of 3 different types of lime kilns, the most impressive being the largest Hoffman Kiln in England.
Picnic seat, watching the Peregrines above Stainforth Scar.

@Goldie146 Really pleased for you that you're finally back home. A long slog, but you'll feel much better being in your own home and bed. All the best.
@Takethedogalong What a worrying and frustrating time, hope your Mum is now improving.
@Bakers2 Hope you're feeling a bit better now, and good luck with getting an appointment. You're right, new houses being built, hundreds more people arrive to live in them, yet no increase in health services.
@Wherenext nice day out in Llandudno; always llike it there; we usually treat ourselves once a year with a couple of nights in a hotel meeting up with friends, have done for years, and never tire of it.
@nelliethehooker nice photos; we were in Ingleton last weekend and went to Settle on the Saturday. Used to stay at Langcliffe decades ago at weekends when we were working, so only arrivd on Friday evening and went home again on Sunday; always enjoyed it there, lots of good walking. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

@Goldie146 so pleased to hear you are home. After so long in hospital it will be a shock to be back home but in a good way I’m sure. Take things easy and enjoy the TLC with all your family.

@Bakers2 good luck with the 8.00am rush to get a GP appointment. There are so many people in your area complaining that their surgery is now overwhelmed with all the new houses being built and absolutely no extra services being provided. I hope you get an appt soon to resolve matters.
Great photos @nelliethehooker particularly the photos of the lime kiln. What an impressive structure.

@Wherenext great pics we love Llandudno we were going to go over there last weeke while staying at Chester but didn’t get the chance to wish we had now

Well I haven't been doing much today - apart from supervising! As promised, grandson (and his father) came round to clean the caravan roof for me and here are the before and after pictures:
I think the pair of them have done a cracking job which I couldn't possibly have achieved. All I have to do is clean the rest of the van (the easy bit) and then polish it🙄. That might take me a few days!
Elliot has gone home with a contribution towards his holiday fund - so he's delighted as well.
Incidentally - if anyone's interested - I / they used Jennychem to clean the roof. Seen it advertised all over the place and thought it might be more hype than anything else - but it really does work and shifts the grime and accumulated algae in no time.

@richardandros Impressive job. Both my Bailey motorhomes were very difficult to keep the roof clean and restore to original condition. They were fibreglass.I wish I had bitten the bullet and had a ceramic coating put on!

I recognised Barleywood too @Oneputt but @Wherenext best me to it. Enjoy your stay there.
The family have done a grand job on the roof of your caravan @richardandros Elliot has certainly deserved his reward. Hope the weather stays fair for you to complete the cleaning and polishing.
@milliehull there is a free car park adjacent to the kilns, just off the B6497 between Settle and Horton in Ribblesdale about a mile North of Langcliffe, should you and your OH want to visit when you return to this area.

It has been another fine sunny and warm day. We parked by the Langcliffe to Masham road and walked over the Winskill Stones and down to the impressive Catrigg Falls before lunch and then up to Jubilee Cave at the end of Attermire Scar.

This tree on the limestone pavement caught my eye.

Spectacular photos @nelliethehooker - The Dales really are 'God's own country'!! I'm so envious of you both being still able to walk in that gorgeous countryside. Long may it continue😀. We are so lucky having that close to us.
I've just started reading David Gatward's latest book, featuring DCI Harry Grimm (the 23rd of his series!) - based in Hawes. In terms of describing the Dales, his books are so accurate. Although now living in London, he used to live there and knows the area intimately. I often find myself reaching for Google Maps whilst I am reading - to check on some obscure place I have never heard of - and, sure enough - it's there - exactly as described.
Enjoy your trip - weather's looking reasonable for the next few days😃.

@Goldie146 glad you are now home hopefully won’t be long until you can get out and about again
@richardandros roof looks nice we do ours twice a year once at the beginning of the year and once in the summer before our main holidays in July although son does the roof for me now

Home now, we had a good but busy time away. Good night at the owners party last night with some of our neighbours. Lots of oldies like us there but that didn’t stop them dancing the night away. Put on 60s, 70s songs and everyone knows the words, even the youngsters there, so a good sing along as well. Neil Diamond tribute was very good. Good journey home, apart from when we drove through Stratford town, some chap pulled straight out from a side road right in front of us, he didn’t even stop or look, good job OH was on it and braked quickly.
A sorting out day tomorrow then a round trip of 110 miles to Exeter on Tuesday, as I have to have another bone scan. My least favourite scan, with the two hour wait after they inject the radioactive stuff.
Nice little invite when we got home to new baby great nephews christening in July. He is a little cracker, already in 3 month old clothes and he’s only 6 weeks old.5 -
Thank @richardandros I will look out for that series. The forecast for the next couple of days look to be fair before rain and a drop in temperature. We do try and fit in a trip to the Dales each year, and would stay longer but always get home before Easter so a shortened trip this year. We may of course be back later in the year.
Hope all goes well with the scan @DEBSC it sounds as if you had a very pleasant time at the owners party.a
We moved on to our next site, near Leeds, after a bit of a slow journey due to roadworks and the usual heavy Sunday morning traffic.

Spent several hours at our son’s place on Friday, trying to fix that mover, without any luck. It will not talk to the old remote either, so must be a problem on the main control board. I have now given up and instead spent the rest of the afternoon removing stuff from the van. Still a few things to finish off so will go back there next Friday, and also give it a little clean inside.
OH has asked DD and SIL to arrange the 6 strong friends to come in 4 weeks time to assist with turning the van so I can tow it out of the yard and onto the driveway where it will be allowed to stay for a week or so before we remove it.
DD has decided to invest in a front towing cover for the new van, so she is sorting that.

We have had a lovely weekend. Finished early at Mum’s Saturday, so we took MH for a run out to Clumber Park, had lunch in her, then did a short walk. MH safely back on drive now, ready to roll for a couple of nights out next week.
Lovely tranquil sunset at Clumber.
Today we have been to NEC to visit Classic Car Restoration Show. Nice drive down early this morning, spent the day having a good look around, trying to photograph almost every model of car we have owned since we got together. Some rare models missing, no Jeeps there, but a good few LR, MG, Rover, Mini, British Leyland models………Derek from Bangers and Cash was on hand as well
Derek telling it like it is……..
Beautiful Austin 1300. OH had a dark green, and we had a Riley Kestrel in brown.
RoverSD1, ours was a darker red.
Range Rover Classic, our’s was Red.
Land Rover Series III, Bronze Green, just like ours.
I caught OH eyeing up this bit of kit, wondering if my Mum’s hoist could be adapted🤣

@Takethedogalong love the pics of the cars really need to get to that show one day
Met Derek many times great guy always likes a chat we were going to his place before they were famous on telly so he always remembers us and had a chat

@Takethedogalong Great photos and having had 4 Classic Range Rovers 3 Green 1 Blue 2 3.5ltr petrol 1 3.9ltr petrol and 1 diesel 2.5ltr and 1 Series 111 Blue with a white hard top 2.5ltr petrol and OH'S dad had a maroon Austin 1100 and a grey Singer Gazelle those were the days, OH said how we used to go to the Old Sort Out (landrover) at Newbury Showground and a lot of Europeans used to go to that and it was a good day out.
Just having coffee before we go back to trimming the hedge outside and we have put on hi vis on as a few folk about on the road.

@Francis I really enjoyed this show, first time for me, as OH usually goes on his own. I enjoyed it much more than the big Classic Car Show there in November. The cars are more interesting rather than all shiny, super expensive gorgeous if only we could win the lottery models. There’s lots of restoration happening at the show as well. I like variety as well, so rows and rows of same models just make me glaze over after a couple of minutes🤭 Only one Jeep though, a Willys, in the auction.
We used to visit Mathewson’s as well, loved their little Museum, now long gone. You can’t get near the place now for folks taking photos.
This LR brought back memories. Our countryside service had a fleet in same livery.
MG B, ours is same model, but Teal Blue.
Last decent LR we owned was a Disco like this, it all went downhill with the Freelander that came after☹️
3 -
Our last Landrover was Discovery Tdi same as photo but green 2.5ltr diesel not as good as a tugger for the twin axle we had at the time then changed to Japanese models.
Hedge done two large green bags in Landcruiser plus a few other things to go to the skip this afternoon.

@RedKite that took us back, the Old Sodbury sort out! We never actually got to it, but I do recall driving past on way to Cornwall one time, either just before or just after event. That was in Old Sodbury, guessing it got much larger, and ended up at Newbury. We loved our Land Rovers/Range Rovers, proper work horses for towing, and as we did Equestrian events, really good for towing boxes, fetching hay etc….. as well as towing our caravan. We had a period without a van, reverted back to a tent, but had a camp kitchen set up in back of LR that was great if it was raining. Tailgate down, bench seat one side, cooking stove on other, sorted. We saw a lovely proper Land Rover Carawagon (roof tilted up, all kitted out inside) at Clumber on Saturday. Looked like someone was giving it some TLC before the Summer, it was in the garden of one of the estate house in Hardwick Village.

Sounds like you had a good couple of outings @Takethedogalong.
We had an afternoon off duty today as we had lunch with my cousin and her husband, our sort of regular 3 monthly thing.Plenty to catch up on and fortunately the place wasn't particularly busy so they left us alone to chatter. So much has happened in the last 3 months for both us and them. Its surprising how the time has flown and there was I thinking it should slow down now that we are well into "le troisieme age" (the third age) as the French call it.

Grand photos @Takethedogalong you have certainly had a good couple of days by the look of it.
It has been another dry, still and at times sunny day, but a fair bit cooler than of recent. We had a couple of walks in Chevin Country Park, and was surprised how many other dog walkers were out too.
