I've reported your post @Tinwheeler as it contains @richardandros post as well. It looks like the lack of notification could be a problem for all as mine is not functioning either.
It's been a busy old week and hasn't let up. Had an engineer out for a technical problem on the van whilst the ladies attended a funeral to support a friend of the family.
We were due a lot of showers today but its been mostly sunny but with a bitterly cold wind.
We won't be going back to a caravan @Francis as its not practical with the amount of touring time we have available.

No notifications on my ball symbol today, and I cleared them all yesterday, but I take no notice of them anyway, I just go back to the previous day's posts and work onward from there.
Similar weather here too @Wherenext the forecasted rain never materialised.

To be clear, my gripe is not with the absence of email notifications - I don’t subscribe/follow anything - but the fact that the bell and envelope symbols can’t be seen as they hide behind the mini avatar picture top right.

@Tinwheeler I just wondered whether my absence of text in the emails might somehow have been connected with your problem, as it seem to occur at the same time.. I did mention it to Ro, so she may be able to get an answer from the folk who deal with this. Anyway, from my point of view, the good news is that the post texts and pictures have returned in the emails I get.

Decent day today we left Chester Fairoaks club site after an excellent 6 nights. Left there about half 11 and made the shortish journey up here to our usual site near Blackpool. Was very windy so we took it easy heading up the M6 but no major issues just under an hour and a half to here which is fine. Haven’t done much we got set up then went a drive along Blackpool seafront it was like a ghost town I know the weather isn’t great and it’s still out of season but don’t think we’ve ever saw it so empty with a lot of the shops closed. We then went to Tesco for a few things then came back to the van for dinner. Took a wander down to the pub in the village and had a few pints which was nice. Site very busy considering the time of year weather has calmed down a bit now but it’s still very cold. Not sure if tomorrows plan yet will see what the weather is like
@Wherenext sorry we missed you would have been nice to meet up and say hello we were at The Rake a few times nice pub I’m sure you will have a nice meal there next week as you said earlier ships in the night but next time we are down this way we will see if we can arrange to be in the same place at the same time :)
Hope everyone else has a nice weekend

I don’t think so, David. The bell and envelope symbols have needed to be accessed by opening my avatar for months now. (Safari browser)
Strangely, I’ve just had a banner pop up bottom left to tell me someone has quoted a post of mine in a reply. Never seen that before other than acknowledging a report🤷🏻♂️

I really don't know then @Tinwheeler .... Perhaps Ro might get a result from the developers.... The weird and wonderful workings of CT... 🤣🤣🤣

It doesn’t improve with keeping, does it?🙄

@Goldie146 get well very soon.
Managed to cut the grass for the first time this year, looks so much better. Washed the van ready for our trip on Friday.
Sophie’s team won their semi final match so now through to the final at Aylsham in May. We will take the van so have booked a CL in the area.
A couple of weeks ago I tried to book a pitch at Rookesbury Park only to be disappointed as no pitches available. Checked again yesterday to find pitches available. I’m now wondering if fuel prices are having an effect

Great result (for both footie and pitch) @Oneputt.
We never actually headed off to the dealer after all @Francis. Actually headed South (nothing personal😂). Miscalculated with the meal as well as it's a week on Monday.
We were able to get out midweek to give the lawn its first cut and the "Whirligig" was out first time today. Felt Spring like out of the wind for this morning at least but we did get caught in a sudden hail shower that naturally finished as soon as we got inside. Lovely to see all of the blossom and hear the birds singing again.
BTW I seem to have the notification bell back working.

Well done to your grand-daughter @Oneputt and best of luck in the final to her and her team.
I hope you feel better soon @Bakers2 the complete lack of energy does sound as though it might have been covid as it is still around. I try to keep in a few of the Flowflex testers. Most supermarkets sell them and you can also get them online. They are not expensive.
I hope you are soon well enough to go home @Goldie146
We met up with some friends for lunch a couple of days ago and as we hadn't seen them since just before Christmas we had a lot of catch up on. Today local son and daughter-in-law came round to help with the garden. Son gave the lawn it's first cut of the year and although it is still a bit shaggy it looks a lot better. Daughter-in-law helped with clearing out some of the beds so the garden now looks so much better and I now have space to plant the dahlias that I got from Sarah Raven when the time is right and also the salvias also from Sarah Raven when they arrive All of them were purchased with vouchers that I received at Christmas. It was so lovely to spend time outside in the garden. There is so much in blossom and in bud. The weather has been beautiful today as long you were out of the breeze but I think it is going to rain tomorrow.

My notifications were all over the place with my old iPad. It was more like the phone set up, but as soon as I got my new iPad, it went back to the screen I used to have, including bell in the corner. 🤷♀️

Good day here today been nice blue skies and sunny all day but very cold. We headed along to Pembertons farm shop to get some things to take home we always go there when in this area very good produce at a decent price. Then headed in to Cleveleys had a lovely walk along the shore front walked away along towards Fleetwood and back so about 4 miles very nice lots of people about enjoying the spring weather. When we got back to the town SWMBO wanted a walk around the shops so she done that and I went and had a beer at the Dickens inn a nice pint of Taylor’s Landord. Picked up dinner from the village chippy on way back to the van a nice treat and saved on the dishes. Just planning a night in van tonight we were going to take a wander down to the pub but it’s bitterly cold so giving it a miss
@Wherenext I know you weren’t avoiding us :) or were you hehehe will definitely try and meet up next time we are down your way we may be back at Chester later in the year

It has been an exhausting couple of days, yesterday we were at our local guide hall helping to set up for our annual fund-raising coffee morning this morning, the weather was good so it was very well attended, over £1800 was raised. Took us ages to count all the money! I was taking the money at the door, OH and DD were making the tea and coffee, lots of other parents running the stalls.
Yesterday was Callum’s 8th birthday, so there is a family party tomorrow, need to wrap his presents,he already has his card. Then on Monday we need to go back to the guide hall to put away all the dishes and finish the tidying. There is also the money to take to the bank.

@KjellNN That seems a very good effort raisimg that amount of money?

Yes, it is a fair bit more than last year, and may well be the best result ever, would need to check my records. 2024 was also a very good year. A lot of work, so nice to get a good result. I think the reasonable weather helped, it felt busier than usual, certainly was very noisy!
Even though we raised a lot, there was plenty of stuff left on the toy and book stalls. That will be donated to local charity shops, nurseries and schools, DD has taken a car boot load of books to distribute to the nursery the boys went to and the school they now attend.
It costs about £10k per year at present to run the building, as long as there are no major repairs required, and that figure is of course increasing every year.

@KjellNN that’s a decent amount of money sounds like a good day. How are things coming along with the van have you managed to get a solution to getting out out of the yard ?
We are not long home after an excellent 10 days away spent most of it at Chester Fairoaks club site great base for exploring the area. We were quite lucky with the weather it was decent while we were there even managed a couple of cycles. We like it there nice site with a good pub at end of the road was surprisingly busy considering it’s quite early on in the season. We then moved on to Donkey Creek Farm near Blackpool for a couple of nights again great site one of our regular haunts. Had a nice day yesterday in Cleveleys again the site was busy Friday night and last night. Not the best of journeys home today what normally takes us 4 hours was almost 5 lots of speed restrictions on M6 in the Lakes 50 and 40 mph in places also the rain was terrible so slow going when we got close to Glasgow it was sleet so not the best journey. Got the caravan back in it’s space on the drive both it and the car are filthy but it’s too cold to clean them today so will need to wait. Hoping to get away again in a couple of weeks for a weekend at one of our local haunts
Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend

@KjellNN that certainly was a goodly sum collected, all contributors and supporters deserve a round of applause.
Your granddaughter's team has done really well when i hope that they win the cup @Oneputt . Did you manage to get another front cover for your caravan?
Pleased to read that you got home safely @Francis and enjoyed your time away. You were fortunate to get up the M6 without too much trouble, albeit slowly, as there have been a number of accidents on it this afternoon and long holdups.
I was fully occupied last night watching the rugby, it was certainly an exciting match, although not the result I wanted. We have booked the sites for our next trip, but won't be going too far from home just in case there is a fuel shortage, as some garages are already limiting the amount one can purchase!
1 -
@Francis Glad you got back home safely after a long trip back and you had a good break.
@KjellNN Good news re the amount of money raised even though a lot of work involved.
@nelliethehooker Glad you enjoy the match last night we did not watch it but the match was seen in our village last night at the local Salle de Fetes (village hall) as some one we know in the village their eldest son plays Rugby and just missed out on playing for France so perhaps next year, all 3 sons all do sports and different ones and he was there last night.
A dry but very cold weekend and last night we had -2C brr but it was sunny all day yesterday but a strong wind from the north and today cold and cloudy and I have some washing to put out and want to do some gardening as the rest of the week is warmer and sunny at least until Saturday, we are off to a local restaurant on Friday to have a meal with friends who both have birthdays in the next month and have not seen them for a few weeks so a bit of catching up.

It was a good day, just checked my records and the amount raised was a little less than our previous best, which was way back in 2003.
Since we were first involved, in 1998, which is as far back as my records go, the total raised is a bit over £32k, a few years were of course missed due to Covid.
Van still in son’s yard, no hurry to remove it as yet. We will go down there on Friday, see if the mover will talk to the identical, old remote we have, and start removing the stuff we still have in the van.
Discussed the problem with DD and SIL yesterday, they will organise 6 strong people to come and assist with turning the van if necessary, which it most likely will be. Once I tow it out it will have to be parked on our son’s driveway for a while. Plenty space there despite his protestations!

Winter warmers off today. So OH shaved her legs!😁
She's regretting it as it's now raining. She's just back from the Opticians. She's been referred to have the Cataract removed from the eye that escaped it a few years ago. Wonderful isn't it? The local eye hospital out source it to a private company in England.

I did my legs last week as well🤭 We had a nice day out yesterday to family in Epworth. There’s a garden restoration going on, some very old roses needing sorting out, some that have moved, so I went along to help, while OH did a 30 miler unpowered! That’s a brilliant ride for him without battery assistance, only possible because it’s flattish, so he can control his heart rate. We got the roses carefully pruned, tied into supports, and even managed to get the glass out of an old greenhouse that’s going to be restored as well. I will go back in the Summer, and try to identify some of the roses, but need the flowers to do this.
Beautiful day here today, some good warmth in the sun as well. Off to Mum’s today, hopefully more gardening in between care. We now have strange nuts and bolts arriving through the post on a daily basis at the moment, guessing Jeep resto has turned the corner, and it’s put it back together time🤣

Had a lovely 3-4 hours at Burton RSPB today. Felt like Spring had Sprung. Loads of buds on trees, lots of birds coming and going, some of them off to the Arctic Circle. Wind was fresh but the sun helped.
We always feel the benefit from a stroll amongst nature.
Hope this weather is blessing everyone.
What are feeding your OH @Takethedogalong? 😂 Whatever it is give him some more.

Jeep is off the ramps and I can hear it burbling away in the yard👏 Apparently, just a bit more body work to re paint then it’s off for MOT. Brilliant timing, this monster does around 20 to gallon on a good run. I might start a Go Fund Me page to fuel it🤣
2 -
@Takethedogalong hope all goes well with the MOT. Only a couple of weeks now until I put my classic Mercedes on the road can't wait seems like ages since it was put away in its garage for the winter. I do manage to get 25 mpg from it on a run so a bit more than you Jeep lol Looking forward to some classic shows this year

A busy day gardening here for me after all washing done and dried by lunchtime oh did it warm up pm 25.1C and I had to give in as in full sun trying to weed a round Iris bed so will be out early tomorrow and finished it off then another small corner bed with Irises in but better soil and I will be in shade am and OH sorted all mowing machines and then fuel in ride on mower so off he went complete with sun hat on and mowed half the field and around front of house looks better and hope to get rest done tomorrow and then he will trim hedge outside next to the road so will be another trip to skip. Had a look at the forecast and it looks like back to rain for next week, but it looks and feels like Spring today with flowers, birds and insects flying about.

After mixed weather yesterday today has been fine, dry and sunny. We spent the time getting things ready in the caravan for the off tomorrow.
Hope that after all the work your OH has put in on the Jeep that it sails through it's MOT, @Takethedogalong You, and @RedKite, have certainly been making the most of the good weather out in the garden.
Glad to read that you had a interesting day out at Burton, and saw lots of good stuff, @Wherenext
