@DavidKlyne OH was advised to use drops of olive oil to soften wax before he had his ‘irrigation’ before Christmas. It makes the job easier he was told. He was also advised to use some drops occasionally to keep wax soft and hopefully it will help to keep it clear naturally, we haven’t tried this as we found it makes a bit a mess, perhaps we used too much!🤷🏻♀️

@DavidKlyne yes you have to use it daily before they will do it. During the six months I used 2 bottles of Otex and 2 bottles of olive oil. I had to stop using it for a while due to the ear infections but I did use the oil again for a week before the last irrigation.

One of the good patient friendly systems that I am privy to is almost immediate results of my blood tests appearing in my inbox, usually around 10 p.m. on the day they were taken. So having studied them this morning I found that the one particular marker that was causing concern on the last one has receded slightly, so no panic this time. I'll have another on in about a month.
Our new neighbour (about 2 months in now) popped around to cut back a holly bush that gotten too cumbersome for me to get at, particularly as I'd need to use a ladder and would end up covered in bandages from bleeding. He kindly offered before Christmas but he had a house emergency to deal with. It's lovely to have decent neighbours instead of the idiot that lived there before them.

Good to read that those suffering from ear wax have had it removed at last I too have experienced the problem. @richardandros I also have had tinnatus for many years now, a result of having worked in a very noisy atmosphere at the shipyard. It is just part of my life now having tried all sorts to "cure" it.

We have had mixed weather today, after a dull but dry start we had rain during our visit to Little Moreton Hall this morning then from mid afternoon the sun came out until dusk. A few views of the house, both outside and in.

What an absolutely beautiful house @nelliethehooker Great photos.

@nelliethehooker we loved Little Moreton Hall, not a level floor or straight wall in the place!😁
Had a good afternoon giving our MH a really good wash, including the roof and solar panel. Didn’t half need it after all the rain and gloom. Looks really well now. Tomorrow will be inside day, a good sort out of all cupboards, hoovering and wood polished, check everything is working ok. Hopefully give it a whirl out for an overnighter with family mid March, then we have a short break planned end of month.🤞

Been a reasonable day weather wise today. Looks like rain for us setting off tomorrow but we don't care. Did a bit of food shopping for MiL this morning.
Packed the van this afternoon. A bit like @DEBSC said on her post, it's good to be getting going again.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.

@Wherenext we had our first weekend of the season last weekend loved it so good to get away again. Enjoy. I was up early this morning got the caravan out and gave it a wash ready for our planned trip away next week to Chester

@Takethedogalong Little Moreton Hall is certainly a building of character, it is a wonder if is still standing the shape and slants of it!
Those that are heading off this coming week hopefully the weather will be kind for you all, and for us too of course, as we are still out. It stayed fine all day, better than forecast, and we had a couple of walks around the Peovers. The displays of daffodils alone made the walk worth while.

As many of you know I am a sucker for a photogenic tree. This is one we spotted yesterday by the moat at Little Moreton Hall.

I hope you both have a lovely few days away @Wherenext and come back feeling relaxed and refreshed.
It was eldest son's birthday on Saturday so we had a small family gathering at their house. Daughter made yet another cake!
We had a lot of heavy rain on Friday evening and again on Saturday but yesterday was fairly pleasant and this morning looks pleasant as well.
Hospital appt for OH this afternoon.

Best day of the year so far here, really sunny and warm in the sun. Yesterday was pretty wet, so glad of a nice day to finish getting the caravan ready for its service.
We have a new “housemate”……..Gunnar the robot vacuum cleaner. It is a long story as to why he is Gunnar, all to do with Norway and robot grass clippers!
He has been busy in the kitchen, the bathrooms, the hall and now the sun room, which all have either tiles or short pile carpet tiles, and has had a go at our lounge carpet, which was a bit more work as longer pile.
Special Lidl Plus offer, plus DD had an extra 10% off, so very reasonably priced. Quite entertaining to watch him wandering around.

You just need a cat to ride around on the vacuum now @KjellNN 🤭 For some reason, they love them.
Nice day here as well, good bit warmer than it has been.

@Takethedogalong not our old cat, bless her. She used to sit on the stairs and hiss at ours through the bannisters as it vacuumed the hall.
I’ve given up chocolate for Lent, so OH has gone out and bought a very large bar!2 -
More cake @milliehull !! You certainly know to make a guy jealous!😁😁
It has been fine for most of the day, but not as good as yesterday, but we did have rain for a short while late in the afternoon/early evening. We visited Brereton Heath again for a couple of walks before restocking at Tesco on the way back to the van.

I am usually not someone who buys things when they first come out but I was fascinated by them and have actually had 3 of them! The first was one was great, but packed up after around 6 months so I took it back to Aldi and got a refund. The next one wasn't as good and only lasted for a couple of months so that went back and the third one isn't very good at all. I believe that they were all made by different companies. Strange really as products like that usually improve the technology as time goes on but in this case they didn't. Yours does sound like a good one so let us know if you have any problems with it.

Since we don't seem to have been out of the house much - for weeks - we decided to go out yesterday and get a bit of fresh air! Just up the coast to Bridlington for a coffee and the opportunity to play on my scooter🙄, and for Meg to have a run on the beach with Ros. Was a bit taken aback when, sitting there outside the cafe - this appeared……..
Was a bit impressive, watching it being launched off the beach. Judging by the slow speed it went out to sea, I think it must have just been a training exercise.
Also had a nice surprise when I got back home. For some time, now, I've been taking part in on-line market research surveys with NFU and now again, they have a prize draw for participants as a means of saying, 'thank-you'. Got an email to say I had won £50 in this month's draw which went straight to my Amazon account😀. This is the second time I've benefitted - got a £100 voucher a couple of years ago. At least their insurance doesn't seem so expensive any more!!

Taking van for service is not going smoothly, the Motor Mover has failed, just after I got the van onto the street, and is jammed on the wheels. Now trying to use the supplied tool to get it off manually. Hopefully we can still make it to the dealership in time today, service is booked for tomorrow. Just having a quick lunch before tackling the other side, first side took a while. Accessing the manual operation requires removing the rubber bungs, which is not easy as they are old and very hard.
The problem with the mover is probably a loose wire somewhere according to Truma. If dealer cannot fix it then we cannot get van back onto our driveway, it is a twin axle and needs to go nose first. Will have to take it to our son’s house and park it in his yard, (he has plenty of flat space as his place was a farm ) until either I can fix it or we get a mobile engineer to do it.
Just as well we had not booked any sites yet for April.

That's just typical @KjellNN. Hope you managed to get it to the dealers.
Had an easy drive down to Shrewsbury yesterday, stopping off in Ellesmere for a walk and lunch en route. Staying at the Morris site on their 3 for 2 offers.
As the Park and Ride is adjacent we used it to spend a few hours in town. It's a very walkable town providing you don't mind a hill or two. Interesting history, some well known historical figures, some lovely architecture and smashing walks and parks by the river. Have always liked it.
Above 2 of the small castle area.
An interesting church with a circular nave. St. Chads.
The most famous local resident. Charles Darwin.
We also called in at the Unitarian Church, where Darwin was a frequenter and Samuel Coleridge Taylor tried his hand at preaching before one of the well off parishioners donated a significant sum to him to give up preaching and concentrate on Poetry. Nobody ever did that for me.🥴

Are you at 'Oxon Hall' then, @Wherenext? I quite like the Bridgnorth Site, but for some reason, didn't warm to Oxen Hall. You didn't fancy the 'Love To Stay' site then? - nice site, lots of 'facilities' but really quite expensive.... 🙂

It is Oxon Hall @DSB. It's the right side of Shrewsbury for us. Only the second time we've stayed here in 35 years. We didn't enjoy it first time, about 32 years ago, but priorities change. Perfect for us at the moment, especially as I can see the stress falling off OHs shoulders by the hour.
We called in at Salop Caravans yesterday but we're very disappointed with the new models. Made ours look better.😁

Managed to get the movers off the wheels and the van to dealer by 3.15pm. Had a chat about the problem, but they suggested we call Truma and ask about a mobile engineer. We plan to pick up the van on Friday and take it to our son’s yard, and meantime will contact Truma.
We then spent about an hour looking at a new caravan which would suit both us and our daughter and family, a Bailey Cadiz. Seems very comfortable, shower compartment is of an acceptable size, though shower room is quite compact. Seats and beds felt comfortable, fridge of a good size. Only drawback is the payload, no upgrade available, would have to carry more stuff in the car, which should not be too difficult. Will have to discuss with DD, but her car will be able to tow it, once she gets a towbar.

@KjellNN glad to hear that you were able to get the van in for it's service. I hope you manage to get the mover fixed so you can get planning your next trip away.
Fine photos @Wherenext that looks an interesting church. Enjoy the rest of your stay at Shrewsbury.
Right place at the right time @richardandros That is certainly an impressive bit of kit, and the boat and transporter are too!!

We drove over to Northwich today, initially to fill up with diesel at Tesco before going for a walk, but they had none. However we had no problem getting it at Sainsbury's, and cheaper too. There has as yet been no increase in price but I am sure there will be shortly. We then had a couple of walks around by the Flashes and as it was sunny and warm hadvour picnic overlooking the pools.
For some reason this sculpture stands by Witton Mill Bridge by the Flashes carpark.

@KjellNN It was 12 years ago but our last caravan was a Bailey Cadiz, it was by far the best caravan that we ever owned. The only reason we sold it was because we had to give up touring. I’m sure they have changed a lot in the meantime but just thought I’d say.

ThThought this would be of interest to several @Takethedogalong 😉. Had to do it whilst I remember, just read it 😉

I saw it yesterday @Bakers2 It is amazing. Apparently the Bishop is going to do the very last stitch. It is a wonderful piece of work. The needleworkers are very proud of it but also quite sad it is finished as they have so enjoyed working on it.

Been lovely weather here in East Norfolk, but better still we have our daughter and the grandtwins staying with us for a few days whilst SIL works on the front extension of their house.
Nice to see everyone’s photographs. Particularly interested in @nelliethehooker’s of Little Moreton Hall. We visited it 3 years ago and it’s a fascinating building with good, knowledgeable guides
