Mot isn’t booked yet, still a bit to go, but it was driven out of garage and idled over for a short while. Once it’s done I will post some photos. We are going to Classic Restoration Show at NEC this coming Sunday.

Well we think that we have struck lucky with this weather. It’s a family joke that it always rains when we are at the caravan but it’s all blue sky. After 10 mins of getting here we were ‘back home’. Still lots of jobs to do though. Everything kept under the bed, containers with bedding, towels etc, etc. have to be lifted, as do other things just in case of flood. All still to be sorted from the spare room. And worse our lovely large white decking is at present covered in green slime, the small floods did reach that far, so tomorrow we will be jet washing it all down, plus the outside furniture, not my favourite job, as it’s difficult to remove. However, at least it will be dry, really hate doing it in the cold and damp.
But today is a day off. Garden Centre for some plants and lunch, then on to my cousins for a good catchup, we haven’t seen them for months so really looking forward to that.
We want to get everything sorted as we both think there will probably be petrol rationing quite soon if things don’t pick up, if so we won’t be able to get here. Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen but I know from my job that procedures are all put in place before if it’s likely and we would be quietly organised and put on standby, it usually didn’t need to happen thank goodness, but I know if it had then it would all be ready to suddenly be announced. As I said, fingers crossed this situation out there gets sorted, for everyone’s sake.5 -
First time we've had the time to get out into the garden to do some proper weeding and tidying up. Beautiful this morning but it has clouded over with high cloud. Haven't got any more energy to get out there again so will do some tomorrow as the weather seem set fair for a few days.

2 Iris beds weeded some deep rooted weeds so aching shoulder now about 5 and half hours out there and it got warm again 25.2C, glad OH finished mowing the field then after lunch he did some strimming so it looks a better now and it has gone very windy here there is a storm going along south of France after coming through Spain did not think we get it here no rain just strong winds glad there are no leaves on the trees, more gardening tomorrow hedge trimming and a few shrubs to trim had enough of weeding for a few days.
Glad all ok at your Caravan @DEBSC and enjoy your break there.

Your weather is warmer than ours @RedKite but it is still a beautiful day here. Wall to wall sunshine all day. Bedding, towels, and bathmats all washed and dried on the line outside, It's been lovely to have the conservatory door open all day. The cat loved being able to go in and out whenever she pleased but is a bit grumpy now because I have shut it as it is now much cooler. OH has cut half of the lawn today (it's second cut) but ran out of energy so the rest will wait until tomorrow. Our magnolia is coming into flower so I do hope that we don't get a hard frost as sometimes happens. The garden is looking lovely with so much in bloom and bud. I actually saw a butterfly and also quite a few ladybirds.
Enjoy the sunshine at your caravan @DEBSC

I got another pond cleaned out today, a big sink one. Looks lovely now, but solar fountain isn’t working. Cleaned out all pump and filter, but we think it’s the battery, so going to buy a replacement before we give up on it and buy something new. Been an absolutely glorious all day.

A lovely day, so warm. A nice lunch, then OH sat with a coffee while I wandered around the plant section. Now I only went in for an aubretia, as mine died over winter. But as usual I came out with a lot more. I was thinking about getting another clematis and I saw a Constance, well it was a no brainer then as that was the name of my dear Mum and now one of our granddaughters. Then I found a couple of bargains so by the time OH found me I’d got quite a few in the trolley, he was not amused, but his fault, he knows not to let me loose on my own in a garden centre.
Beautiful driving through the countryside with all the magnolias and other trees in blossom, I really love spring. Great to see my cousin and her husband and a good catchup natter. There is 7 months between us and we have been best friends since babies, as were our Mums who were sisters. We had to admit today, that we are both probably turning into our Mums as we and they grew old.Got back to the caravan to find an outside leak so OH had to climb underneath to fix it while I held the torch above as it was getting dark. Think it’s ok but he can check better in the morning. He said it didn’t do his knees any good.

Our local garden centre has a “Search and Rescue” table, I got a lovely bunch of twigs a few weeks ago, original price £17, marked down to £5. It’s a beautiful Clematis, and has some lovely new healthy growth now, purple with a vivid pink flash down each petal. Can’t remember name.

We too have had a fine sunny day with some high thin cloud. Had an easy tow to our current location in the Dales and was surprised to find 3 other units already on site. The temperature got up to around 17C and it was grand walking round in just a polo shirt and sandals as well as being able to sit outside with a brew for the first time this year.
Sorry @Takethedogalong I misunderstood your post about the Jeep, still fingers crossed that it passes when it does go in for it's MOT. Enjoy your visit to the show on Sunday.
Hope you are able to get all the green slime cleaned off your caravan's decking @DEBSC and both of you can then have a pleasant and well deserved rest.

Lovely day today, down at DD’s to look after the boys after school as usual. We generally go down and have lunch with her before I pick up Nathan at 2.30 and Callum at 3.30, gives us time to chat and make plans. Her team have a new software launch tomorrow, so she has been putting in a lot of extra hours this last week, so was glad to take a long lunch break.
She and her Mum are planning what new stuff we will need for the new caravan……different bedding, extra hooks, bags for various equipment that will have to travel in the car, etc,etc……..so they have divided up who will organise what. Meantime I have been tasked with casting concrete boots for her newish BBQ shelter, to stop it blowing over, so, now we have found suitable plywood in her garage, I will be making a mould for that this week.
DD and family are off to Legoland at Windsor over Easter, but we will not be going anywhere for a while yet, so plenty of time for work in the garden.

Francis, we do not have an exact date as yet, but it will not be until around the end of April, so a while yet.
We wanted to move the annual service date away from the Easter school holiday period, and to have plenty of time to organise getting the old van out of where it is stuck.

Beautiful start to the day here. Big surprise was the totally white school field at 0700. Along with the very end of our grass where it's exposed.. Cleared quickly as the sun rose
Had a fabulous day weatherwise yesterday too. As did others by the sound of it. I wish I had some energy 😪 🤐. It's bare essentials only here. Extremely frustrating......

Glorious day here, as well - as it was yesterday. Spent yesterday morning going backwards and forwards to the tip - which is only about 5 minutes away. Thanks to Mr Amazon, the garage was getting so full of boxes that it was starting to get difficult to get in! Anyway, now looking much better. And I've spent this morning sorting my study out in preparation for the alarm engineer coming to fit a new CCTV system tomorrow. Ros, reckoned it was a health hazard, whereas I am sure it just had things in it that would come in useful one day. I wouldn't say I have achieved perfection but at least it's looking a lot better. Just need to get the christmas lights put away in the loft - but that's going to be a bit of a challenge😥.
I've managed to persuade grandson to come and clean the caravan roof on Saturday - in exchange for a contribution towards his holiday fund. Apparently a group of them from college are off to some 'exotic'!!!! location immediately their "A" levels finish in the summer. Think that's about as much detail as I want to know😉.

@DEBSC - just a thought which might save you a lot of time and effort cleaning the van & decking - we have a local window cleaner who comes at the start of each season and does the job for us. And very good he is too - van gleams and the decking and decking rails look like new. Not particularly cheap, he charges us £150, but the neighbours say he's there most of the day and it would probably take us much longer and not end up looking half as good!

Thanks @moulesy good to hear from you. We have done it now but yes it has taken much of the day. I drew the short straw, the decking is about 4ft high, due to the flooding problems, and I was the one spraying upwards to clean the decking railings from the outside. Just completely changed my soaking clothes and dried my hair, having a cuppa now. It is huge, a wrap around decking to catch the sun, now sparkling white again. Like a tsunami out there though as the hose leaks. I told someone that we should bring the one from home! I’ll move the outside furniture back tomorrow as done enough for today.

Yes, things are good here after 18 months of hiatus, back to (almost) normal now and able to get travelling again. In fact we're only just back from a brilliant walking holiday in Barbados! Lovely island and such friendly people everywhere. Nearly missed the flight back though, only one scanner working at the airport and it took us best part of 3 hours to get through security. Just enough time to buy a couple of bottles of water before boarding! But talked to some friends at the weekend who'd flown to Dubai on the 28th (the day things kicked off out there) and had to spend 8 days in their hotel, so we count ourselves lucky really. I've got out of the habit of posting lately (but I do keep reading this thread), but must try harder now things are looking up again. 👍

Good to hear from you @moulesy . Pleased to hear that you had a good holiday and also that you got home safely.
Lovely day here - wall to wall sunshine again so more washing done and dried outside while OH cut more of the lawn and did all the edges. The garden is looking really good now. Daughter popped round at lunchtime as she had a dentist appointment just down the road from us. She stayed and had lunch with us and it was lovely to sit in the conservatory and eat it with the doors and windows open. After lunch I cleaned the paintwork at the front of the house (downstairs only!) and did a tidy up around the front.
@DEBSC That sounds a very productive day. Hopefully you can now relax and enjoy the rest of your stay.

Pleased to read that you both are well @moulesy ,that things are picking up again, and that you enjoyed your holiday in Barbados and got home safely. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.
It was another fine day here too, but not as warm as yesterday with a slight, cooling breeze but still warm enough to be walking in a just t-shirt. We enjoyed a low level walk across the fields from Clapham to Austwick, where we had our picnic lunch on the seat by the bus shelter before returning the same way. There were a number of quite high step stiles, which caused a bit of a problem getting Flyte over them, but we managed! It did cloud up in the middle of the afternoon but it then brightened up again and we had another red sky as the sun set.

Nice to hear others news. Couple of rough days here, not helped by putting too much faith in our local out of hours GP services. Mum very unwell, Docs closing, advise ring ambulance service, they rang us back with a Clinician some three hours later, who passed us onto the on call Doctor who was supposed to ring us, then add Mum to list of visits. Anyway, no further call, no one arrived. We just ploughed on, using our instincts, trying our best. Did get a home visit clinician to finally come out via our own Docs next morning. She was very good. Got some antibiotics now, and thankfully Mum doing a lot better. I suspect poor Mum was triaged to the bottom of a very busy list, not helped by her having two dedicated carers and her great age, they did say things were very busy, but a phone call back would have helped immensely. Anyway, onwards and upwards………

Great news @Goldie146 - best wishes from us as well. Sorry to hear about your Mum @Takethedogalong and hope she is now a little better - must have been a very worrying and frustrating time for you. Ros has a friend - that she speaks to every day - was taken by her daughter to Hull Royal A&E yesterday. Suffering from severe headaches - she's 86 and she had to wait 14 hours to be seen! Turns out she has some sort of brain infection and they pumped her full of steroids and sent her home. Doesn't bode well that both Hull Royal and Castle Hill Hospitals - run by the same trust are the bottom of the national league in terms of performance - particularly A&E

Looks like a Good news Bad news day on here. Good to hear you are finally home @Goldie146. Has your freezer been emptied whilst you were in hospital?
Really sorry to read of your mum's distressing experience @Takethedogalong. Never gets easier does it?
We were taking care of our own Nonagerian today. Fortunately she was in one of her sprightly moods. We asked her where she would like to go for a day out and she said Llandudno. So off we set. She had a good stroll along the front, about a mile then we went into town for lunch. I did have to fetch the car half way back though. Not bad for nearly 93.
They have an Alice theme in Llandudno.
One old lady helping an even older lady. You can tell that there was a chill wind to go with the hazy sunshine.
Distant view of the Pier.

@Goldie146 glad to hear that you are home, now take it easy, slowly does it. @Takethedogalong sorry to hear about your mum, I know it’s so worrying. A similar thing happened when I was caring for my Dad years ago, we just kept waiting and waiting, in the end I phoned for an ambulance again, as they were putting Dad into the ambulance the Dr finally turned up saying Dad had been put down the list as they didn’t think he was that bad. I think the Dr and the paramedics had a discussion! Which meant I didn’t have to voice an opinion.
We got down to the last two decking panels yesterday and smoke started coming out of the jet washer. It’s now given up. It’s only 2 years old and only been used about 4 times, but of course we can’t find the receipt and we didn’t register it, lesson learnt. Next time though we will get a more powerful one, although that was a good make.
A trip to Charlecote and a wander round. I checked under the arch there but the swallows aren’t back yet. The we had a coffee and lemon and white chocolate scones, delicious. All the games have already been set out on the lawns for the kiddies at Easter.
There is an owners party night here tomorrow with tribute bands, apparently it’s a sell out. So everyone arriving here now. All we can hear is jet washers being used.

So glad to hear that you are now home @Goldie146 Very best wishes to you.
A nice bit of (chilly) sea air would have done you all good @Wherenext Lovely photos of Llundudno.
So sorry to hear about the distressing experience with your Mum @Takethedogalong I hope she is now improving.
Another nice day here but not quite so much sun and a bit chillier. It was still good for some more gardening though.
