As requested by MiL we went for a walk this morning at a local country park. The ladies have a shortish circular walk that doesn't involve steps, still taking nearly an hour, whilst I do a longer one involving steps to a higher part, taking about the same amount of time. It was sunny again. They have a nice cafe with homemade food and a lovely information centre as well.
Back for a late light lunch. I had to go out mid afternoon for a blood test.
Hope any rain falls at night for those away or going. We've actually got some light rain falling at present.

Glad to read that you all got out for your planned walks today @Wherenext and hope that the rain this evening does not become heavier tomorrow.
Hope that the missing plaques can be found and displayed once again in your respective gardens @Bakers2 and @Takethedogalong

We had to drive through to Elgin to restock before heading to our next site tomorrow, do took the opportunity to visit a Palace, Spynie and an ancient Motte and Bailey Castle, Duffus. The former was built in the 1400s as a residence for the Bishops of Moray, and once stood adjacent to a sea loch which has since mostly silted up and drained for farm land. Whereas the latter is 2-3 C older and was originally a wooden structure before being composed of stone.
Spynie Palace, with David's Tower, to the left, from which the remains of the Loch can be seen.
Duffus Castle from the Bailey
The old bridge to the Castle, a little different from the previous one we visited.

We have finally had some rain here, first beyond a few drops since early March. Hopefully water butts will have something inside now. It’s still warm though, if a tad breezy. Mum’s today for me.

We have our daughter and her 2 boys visiting today, and staying over tonight. Between the rain showers she has been, and still is, cleaning the roof of the caravan for me. After lunch we took a trip to the tip to get rid of some plasterboard she had left over from work on the house. She had kept it to use on her next project, but it did not like being left in the garage, so had to go.
They have not stayed over in the house for a long time, so we had to assemble a bed for Nathan yesterday, so quite a bit of tidying of the spare room involved. I also dismantled some flatpack furniture she wants to take home with her, so that made some space. No point in her buying stuff if she is happy to take items we no longer need……..they were in her bedroom here originally anyway.
Quite dull today, and wet off and on, forecast not great either. Oldest grandson is supposed to come here on Monday to help me in the garden, but may have to cancel that if it is going to be wet. Do not really have anything to do inside that he can help with.

We had rain through the night, which started around 20:00 but it wasn't very heavy and ended in the middle of the night. There have been the odd shower this afternoon but not enough to do more than damped the ground. We had an easy tow down to Deeside to another of our favourite sites. We are surprised to find that it is nearly full this weekend, and speaking to the site assistant it has been so since it opened this season, as it was nearly empty when we were here last year.
@Goldie146 fingers crossed for you, and all farmers, that the rain comes gently, but in sufficient quantities to promote the crop growth of all the seeds planted.

Weather little more overcast here at home today, but the sun did put in an appearance - also one or two spots of rain.
Took the MIL up to High Ash Country Store at Abbots Bromley - she wanted to go as part of the present for her 93rd birthday. Lovely little cafe - tremendous home made cakes.... and homemade pizza..... if any of you are ever in the vacinity, it's certainly worth a visit...

We arrived at our holiday cottage in Devon late last night. It was a very long journey as both M4 and M5 gridlocked. The cottage is lovely, deep in a Devon valley near Parracombe. Unfortunately the weather has taken a turn for the worst and has been chilly and drizzly all day. It hasn't deterred us though and we have been to Lynton and Lynmouth and then drove through the Valley of the Rocks so son could see the cricket pitch again. Some photos below.

Shame about your weather @milliehull but it obviously hasn't curtailed your getting out to see the sights. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Devon and please keep the grans photos coming.

We had some rain overnight and first thing🥰. Appears to have been nice and steady. One waterbutt replenished and another about half full. I know it was running low but the lids are so hard to get off - I did fight them today. 3rd in the chain is about a 1/4 full. The 4th has been leaking 🥲, so I emptied that one 1st ocer tge last week. Now it needs replacing. Another job to do that was once such an easy DIY fix but OH not up to it and with my PF slowing everything down it's unlikely to be done soon.
Had my 2nd shock wave treatment yesterday. Can't say I was looking forward to it. But I took the opportunity to shower, it wouldn't be long before it was re-strapped if it went awry. Put foot and the splint that I'd not taken off since it went over the strapping with treatment Monday. You definitely need to be down wind of me these days 😂! Into a plastic envelope, secured it thoroughly, stood awkwardly to keep said foot from shower and begun. 🤣, wasn't comfy so moved said leg, envelope full of water. Might as well have put said foot in a bowl in the shower cut out all the extra work. Semi refreshing shower. Dressed and went and sat with foot, with all it's coverings in the sun. It dried before the appointment.
Confessed to podiatrist, he said not to worry. Removed splint, (only supporting elastic type), and then removed the sticky strapping. Suffice to say it held well and took some tugging. Next shower 7 days! No messing I'm going cold turkey.....
Same as the first time, but an increase to 3.5 bar. On the sour spot for 5 minutes. Not pleasant, but no worse than the first time. The next and subsequent treatments will be 4 bar.
Today, not quite so 'comfy', remember this is a relative description!, as I remember Tuesday. That said following the 1st treatment had no problem putting my heel on the mattress in any position for the 4 nights. None last night or tonight, but slight ocassional twinge. I was able to walk with a far more normal gait too. By day 3 I got twinges, which caught me unaware and once again had me gasping. Similar today, but prior to treatment it was almost constant standing/sitting/laying. So fingers crossed. I hope this is the sort of report you'd like @Takethedogalong ??
It's now quite breezy, chilly too, and the backs of the leaves have been visible for the last few hours 🤞more rain to come.
Had eldest grandson for a few hours this morning. He's growing so fast. Wonderful company and has a good conversation he was happy to be read too, the lark and the ark, my 1st world atlas - lift the flap book, interdispersed with the globe and a torch. Discussing where his cousins live in NZ and that it's night there when it's day here! Actually very effective with the torch on/above/below tge equator....
Once we've recovered I left OH to tidy and I went out for a couple of hours burning the growth in the block paving. I must be getting towards the halfway point?. Folk say about weedkiller - no way here! Hot water and salt, but to be honest, whichever method you use, care must be taken not to kill the good stuff.
Good news, our hedgehog has been about again, not had signs since the autumn, so more feeding duties. And for the last 2 mornings, I've seen a male pheasant on the school field, but to distant to be sure it's THE ONE!
Good to read folks news and see photos.
@DEBSC in case I font get on here again before Tuesday, thinking of you 😘
@Goldie146 I hope the rain brings forth growth, we're hoping the same for the arable crops. Barley locally is already on ear and quite golden, I assume trying to set seed before it dies in the heat/drought. I'd like some bread come the autumn, but I suspect we'll have to pay more for produce......
Lastly,I know it's frowned on but nothing from @DavidKlyne for a while, hope all is well with Maragaret or @moulesy .....
In the time I've been reading this back the breeze has really got up!

Hope the foot is soon better @Bakers2, the treatment sounds most unpleasant, and thank you for the good wishes. Not looking forward to any of it but will be glad to get it over.
@milliehull you are in our neck of the woods now, just down the road, so your photos look very familiar. The M5 is usually bad at this time of the year at weekends, especially as it’s half term week and more holiday makers heading here. Sorry the weather has taken a turn for the worse but not too bad today. We’ve still not had any proper rain, I’ve put off watering the plants as keep expecting it and only one water barrel with any in now. I wobbled the one near the back door this morning but still hardly any and that fills quickly off the roof. They predict it for tomorrow and Tuesday though, sorry Millie. I watched as 5 birds in a 30 minute period used our bird bath yesterday they all had a good splash, even a little blue tit went in, which I’ve never seen before, I think even the birds will be glad of some rain, not too much though please. Food cooked and put in the freezer yesterday for future easy dinners, the garden is all neat and tidy I’ve just got the back and front lawns to mow today, then a good dust round and clean the house tomorrow and then I think I’m ready for my 4 week stint.2 -
Wishing both @DEBSC and @Bakers2 come through their ordeals and out the other side in much better shape. Fingers crossed for you both.
I'm doing catch up on admin today. Renewals of The Van insurance, protection, NT, ISAs, Van tax, Bank accounts etc. You know the score, fun, fun, fun all the way.
Very concerning yesterday. Day proceeding normally until about 4pm when Mrs.WN started being violently ill, just like food poisoning, except that we knew it wasn't that. She only had a Jam sandwich and a couple of biscuits. We both think she inadvertently ended up with bleach on her hand even though she had washing up rubber gloves on from cleaning something just prior to lunch. She was like that for rest of the day but seemed to improve late on, had a good sleep and now just feels battered.
We've had some rain but not a great deal.

@Bakers2 - that treatment sounds absolutely horrendous - more like some form of torture! I hope you soon get it completed and that it works.

@richardandros I can't say it's pleasant! But it probably sounds worse than it actually is 🤣. When I've had such awful pain for weeks it's almost a relief 🫣 - at least there's a time limit for the treatment.....
This morning I managed to tweak my back....
I have managed to supervise the empty/rearrange of the laundry room for the arrival of builders this week.
Can anyone arrange an uneventful period please?

We have been to Knightshayes Court today as none of us have been before for some reason. We didn't go round the house, as lovely as it was, because we had the dog with us. However we had a good walk around the fabulous gardens and grounds. We then popped to Minehead briefly for fuel and an ice cream and drove back over Exmoor including Porlock Hill which DIL who was driving found 'interesting' 😲 and luckily saw some Exmoor Ponies.
The weather has been pleasant with no rain and plenty of sun albeit with a very bracing breeze. Please can you arrange similar weather for the rest of this week @DEBSC 😎🌞. I wish you all the very best for your treatment in the coming weeks.
I do hope Mrs @Wherenext is fully recovered. It sounds really nasty.
How many more treatments have to got to endure @Bakers2 ? It all sounds very unpleasant. I do hope it is all worth it in the long run.
Photos of Knightshayes Court, gardens and grounds and one of Minehead.

Looks like a lovely day out @milliehull glad that you had fine weather for the visit. It has been many years since we visited the house.
All the best with your on-going treatment @Bakers2 and @DEBSC
Hope Mrs WN is soon fully recovered from her's yesterday's sickness, and that it doesn't reoccur @Wherenext
We had around 5 hrs of rain through the night but thankfully today has been mostly sunny, apart from a heavy shower around lunchtime. Thankfully we had not long returned from our morning walk around Aboyne's Image Wood, where we came across the stone circle below, which is thought to be of Early Stone Age.
On a short walk with Flyte after lunch we passed this rather unusual Parish Church, with its external bell and built of granite blocks.
We ended the afternoon off with another walk, this time through Murton Wood, part of the McRobert Trust Estate in Tarland.
The site is nearly full again tonight, and many on here have mountain bikes, as there are a series of MB trails very close to the site.

Arrived at Bridlingron CAMC site yesterday afternoon, for a few days.... no choice of pitch as we had the last serviced pitch left.... Luckily, it's a good pitch for us... flat, not underneath trees, with a nice bit of grass behind us, and close to the facilities.... As expected, this morning it's like rats leaving the sinking ship.... many are packing up to leave in order to get home to go back to work tomorrow after the Bank Holiday.
I don't think the weather is going to be brilliant this next couple of days, but I'm sure we'll manage.. 😀😀 Sunny, but quite breezy here this morning.
(P.S. They have recently had ANPR fitted at Bridlington CAMC (a couple of weeks ago), so no more swipe cards to get in and out... it recognises my numberplate)

Dry with some cloud this morning so mowing and strimming to be done before it gets too warm later in the week also another holiday here this Thursday Ascension so another weekend to be bridged 3 in one month and Pentecote on 9th June.
Well after reading WN's OH not feeling well I spent part of day yesterday in bed and on the settee with funny tummy and OH ok thankfully so taking it easy today and only having small amounts of food but did sleep well last night about 9 and half hours, have done some strimming so that is an improvement.
Great photos folks and enjoy your breaks away not sure when we will get away hopefully next month but it will only be a local site to us, as we have all sorts of things going on.

MrsWN had fully recovered by midday yesterday and sat down to a hearty meal in the evening without any ill effects. The effects of food poisoning tend to linger a bit longer than that so we're assuming it was a reaction to a chemical or the like that caused it. Hope you recover just as quickly @RedKite.
At least your weather @DSB seems a lot better than ours although I fear you may be getting ours later on. Heaviest rain I've seen for some time and due to continue through tomorrow as well.

@Wherenext just catching up, hope Mrs WN is ok, not nice at all. Hope you find out the cause as well.
Lovely photos Millie. Love that area. It’s a very long time since we got around Knightshayes Court, I love the Walled Garden there.
@nelliethehooker such interesting places.
@Bakers2 thanks for the foot information, sounds a bit of a procedure. I am not in pain with my PF, but have to wear my insoles and selective shoes. If I go without for more than a couple of hours I can really tell. Got some lovely sandals for an upcoming wedding, but I know they will be time limited, so I swop shoes every couple of hours.

All good wishes to Mrs WN @Wherenext ... We have a little bit of very light on/off rain now, but according to the forcast, it's going to be more on than off tomorrow... 🙂
Thi afternoon's trip up to Flamborough Head...

@Wherenext glad Mrs WN is feeling better
Poured all day today very heavy hadn’t saw rain here for a month and then it started on Saturday and has hardly stopped since. Went to get some bits and pieces for the caravan this afternoon at our local dealers and booked it in for its service they are busy just now so can’t take it until end of June but that’s fine means it will be serviced just before we are due to head off on our main summer trip

Pleased to read that Mrs WN has fully recovered and got her appetite back @Wherenext you just have to hope that the cause of the sickness has been eliminated. Sorry to hear that it is so wet in your area.
Hope you are soon back to full health @RedKite and that the sickness doesn't return to spoil your getting away next month.
@Francis with the weather you have had this last weekend it sounds as if it is good that you are not away at one of your local haunts at the moment.
Grand photos @DSB enjoy the rest of your trip to East Yorkshire and fingers crossed that the rain holds off while you are out and about.

Glad to hear Mrs @Wherenext now fully recovered. Lovely photos @DSB.
We paid a visit to the lovely old St Petrocks church today. We visited many times years ago but hadn't been for some time. It was lovely to pay another visit. It was one of the last churches to use musicians to accompany the hymns.
A cut out section in one of the pews thought to accomodate either a cello or double bass

It has been another dry day with blue skies and some clouds on a brisk breeze, and now we have spectacular red sky.
Having not been able to get into Craigievar Castle last year, because of building work being carried out by NTS, we re returned today and, after a walk through the grounds before lunch, we had an excellent guided tour through the castle.

@nelliethehooker and @Wherenext many thanks for your kind words and yes now back to normal and had a nice evening meal last night at home and all ok so not sure what it was I had but glad it has gone and OH and no ill affects as we had had the same food.
OH mowed the field yesterday on the ride on and I did some around the house bits he cannot get to with the battery mower and some strimming and today he is doing strimming/brushcutting around the edge of the field as it has not been done for awhile.
Weather warming up here could be 33C on Friday before it cools down again.
Great photos folks.

@RedKite good to hear your tum upset is mending as well. Going to be very hot where you are.

@Takethedogalong Thanks very much not sure what it was but heyho, thought of you the other Sunday as we went to local boot sale and some stalls had some great reusable jewellery on and not expensive and did think some of it would have been useful to you and your jewellery making.
The weather is going to change again on Sunday and a few days of rain summer is on the way but a bit shy at present ha ha.
Just made this morning some low sugar scones and OH came in and saw them 1 gone already ha ha.
