@DSB enjoy Blackpool we love it there and visit often were there just a few weeks ago although we haven’t used the club site for years as it got quite run down and expensive. We now use Donkey Creek Farm great little site but a bit further out of town but close to a village with a couple of great pubs in walking distance. Recommend a visit to Cleveleys if you have time it’s a lot quieter than Blackpool and has a great prom that you can walk along. Also I noticed on one of your posts at the weekend that you have the pizza stone for the Cadac. How did it go?

I think Margaret might have broken a distance barrier today as we went to Central Milton Keynes Shopping Centre and although we didn't manage it all the way to M&S we did quite a bit. We had to return something to JL and then down to a Jewellers to sort her rings out. Before she had the Carpal Tunnel operation on her hand she had to have her rings cut off as they wouldn't come off the finger normally. So they are being sent off to the workshop to see if they can do something. Then back to JL for lunch.

Whilst we were, slowly, walking down through the Centre they had a series of poems in planters which I thought was a nice touch. Picture below if it works?

Just checking if everything works like it should on my Samsung Android tablet. Quotes seem ok, not sure about the screenshot, it should be of this post with the quote in it. Or am I doing something wrong?

One other strange thing I've just noticed, so will add it to this post, is that in my notifications it tells me that Bakers2 mentioned me in this thread at 9.12am. However, on checking that post, I'm not mentioned at all 🤔 @RowenaBCAMC and 2 other members are mentioned in that post, but definitely not me!

Using an Apple MacBook Air I've just posted a photo in the "What have you seen" thread without a problem so if it is an Apple issue then it doesn't affect the MacBooks. I'll see if it takes the photo on here (warning to those that don't like caterpillars!) ps it's a Drinker Moth.

    Drinker Moth.jpg

Had an hour to spare this morning so we popped into our local bird reserve at Burton on the Wirral and had a lovely time. Place not busy and plenty to keep us occupied.

Unfortunately we had to move on as we had provisions to buy, both for this week and for going away so we headed to the large M&S in the Outlet Village at Ellesmere Port. It was chaos as apparently M&S nationwide has been hit by website malfunctions. Card payments were taking an age and no vouchers or Sparks cards accepted. We had cash with us for a lunch break and the card was accepted OK but I felt for the Staff.

Second provision trip in afternoon to Tesco. Gosh the fun we have. MiL was out at her monthly craft class being spoiled rotten. We're lucky that one of the members picks her up and delivers safely home. She was rewarded as MiL gifted her previous tip-top walker to her for the charity shop she volunteers at.

Supposed to rain but has held off thank goodness.

There you go. I typed a reply. GONE!
    I can't quote.
I note return doesn't give double spacing for new paragraph.
    Leave things be......
@InaD I did tag you, but should have been heddlo. Corrected within seconds of posting. Sorry 😞

Funny goings on. I deliberately made the photo small but it appears to have ignored me! Must be female!🤣

Thanks @Francis . Yes, I went out and bought a pizza stone. Having some difficulty with it. Followed the instructions in the booklet but we get quite a 'burnt bottom' (🤣🤣).… although it was slightly better the second time...

Might try a visit to Cleveley's tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation.

Enjoy your time at Blackpool, @DSB we tend to avoid the town itself but do enjoy a walk along the prom at Fleetwood and St Anne's.

It has been another fine day here and by late afternoon with the sun out, it was lovely and warm. It was a visit to tge hairdresser for OH this morning followed by a walk in the park then into Aldi before heading home for lunch. I continued with more painting in the afternoon before my walk out and our evening visit to Tesco. I took these photos while in the park, reduced them as we had to do for the old CT, and am typing this on my I phone.

I have reduced them to medium to see if I have a similar problem to that experience by others.

TThis is a trial using my kindle fire, @Bakers2 and it would appear that all is fine apart from the doubling of the initial letter at the start of a new paragraph.

I have edited this post, adding a word to the above sentence and this also seems to be working properly. Very strange, as I can't imagine that @Rowena has either read the message from @DSB or had time to action any remedy.

    Re-edited post!

@DSB when using the Pizza stone I heat it up full power for 5 mins then turn the Cadac down low power then put the pizza on and 3-4 mins in to cooking turn the pizza round on the stone this works for us to get an even heat and crispy base without it burning. If your in the area is Lytham Pembertons farm shop is good they do brilliant burgers and sausage rolls

@Francis .....did the full power for 5 min then turned it down, but left it on for longer and didn't turn the pizza... I'll try cooking less and moving it around next time. Thanks for the advice. 👍👍

@Wherenext - I'm also using a MacBook Air and not having any problems with photos. Managed to upload this and re-size it to medium without any issues. Using Chrome, and running Sonoma 14.6.1. OS - for info @Rowena.

Since there were only two of us in the orchard here at Thornthorpe and the other van belongs to our friends, Meg was allowed to have a little romp back to the van😀

I am now using my Windows PC and I have the same problems. Very small space for leaving a comment, no icon to post a photo and I can't quote. So it would seem that it isn't specific to certain modes of operation. My phone that I usually use for CT is a Samsung android phone.

It just seems very random to me, @milliehull . I use a Samsung Android phone (almost exclusively) for CT, and don't get any of the problems folk are describing. I just can't think of a reason why some folk are getting problems and others are not, other than cache or if there is some sort of conflict between any of the apps folk have installed....

Do you use Google Chrome? (I do). Also, more often that not, I access CT by clicking on one of the notification emails. (I have configured CT to send me an email everytime anyone posts, and I get that through to a gmail account.... does this make any sense to anyone...? Is mine wkrking because of the way I access CT? Just trying to think why mine works and others don't?

Anyway.... off out in a minute. We may well head in the direction of Cleneleys or Fleetwood today....

Glad to hear that folk seem to have things back to normal (photos/ formatting icons/ emojis etc). I can promise its nothing to do with me... 🙂 We've been up to Fleetwood and Cleveleys - finished up in a cafe (nothing new about that.... 🤣🤣)

Finished packing The Van this morning, didn't take long. Had to go to town this afternoon so as there's a Midweek market on the 2 Ladies decided to accompany me.

I went off to do my jobs while they made fluttering eyelashes at the Frenchman who has a Bakery stall. They duly returned with the most sumptuous looking Pear and Almond tarts and, as he proved to be a real Frenchman, plenty of compliments. No fool he!😂 Amazing how most of the queue seemed to be single sexed.

Must admit I was a tad jealous of the cakes.

Your weather looks a lot better than ours @DSB. It's been overcast all day and hard to get any warmth out of it.

Weather has been fine today @Wherenext but it has clouded over now we've got back to the caravan. Just packing up one or two things in preparation for tomorrows journey home.

I’ve been busy in the garden today, my happy place. I love gardening best when I’m just pottering. Washing line broke a few days ago with all the clean bedding on it. OH has been trying to get the new spike that came with the new line into the ground where the old one was but he hit a rock, the new spike is longer, he moved it a little but same problem, he’s been out there ages and just came in with a bad back, maybe a hot bath is in order.

Went to the hospital for my MRI yesterday got there to find that it had been cancelled. Not by my surgeon but by someone else who didn’t even think to tell me. My surgeon phoned today to apologise, really not her fault. Maybe a new plan now but she has made room in her very busy schedule to see me tomorrow to explain. Not many would do that, she’s a credit to the NHS. I wish more were like her, I’m very fortunate to have her as my surgeon. Exeter on Friday to hospital there for radiotherapy planning, then appointment with another specialist on Monday. After that we are really hoping to get away for a few days, really looking forward to that, so fingers crossed.

Earlier in the week OH saw an article on Facebook about a recall by Tower Homeware for a few of their Air Fryer, and the one which we had purchased from Argos and collected from Sainsbury's at Cheshire Oaks in January 2024, was on the list. I sent an email to Tower, after repeated tries to contact them on the phone, but am still waiting for a response. Yesterday we called in to our local Argos and, although I only had the collection receipt they said would accept the recalled item there. So today we took it in and although there was no direct replacement we were credited the full price and came away with a slightly larger Tefal Air Fryer for a nominal additional cost, so well done Argos. I hope others with a Tower Air Fryer from around 2022/23 will search out the recall notice, for a potential electrical fault causing overheating, and apply for a replacement/credit from the firm where they purchased the unit.

The morning started off sunny but it clouded up during the day but remained warm, and the late rain that was forecast hasn't materialised yet.

Photos are coming out fine, some grand shots too.
