So sorry to hear you are still in hospital @KjellNN - fingers crossed that you are well enough to be discharged soon....
Weather cold and 'slushy' here in the Midlands. We had some snow last night, but a bit of rain earlier has turned most of it to slippy slush! Roll on the summer......

When I post photos either on my computer or laptop the default is large. If I post a single photograph then I get the photo with a red outline and the box at the top with four options like:
If you click on the second button (the one with double ended arrow) the resize option appears like:
Large is the default then I choose an option like these two - small.
If I upload more than one photo at one time then each photo needs to be selected by clicking on it to get the four buttons box, the resize as above.
This is large above straight from the computer and small below.

@DSB This is a screen shot pasted directly into this post. I still get the four buttons and resize option?

@DSB the photo in your post appeared perfectly normally as full size to me on my PC. I know its personal choice but I don't think I could faff around with posting or viewing the forum on a phone. As far as photos are concerned you just don't see them in their full glory. The photo I posted of the Jigsaw, up thread, was taken on my phone but sent to my PC to be edited before posting and that is the way I have always done it. I appreciate that a PC or Laptop are not as convenient on the fly so to speak.

we woke up to snow here, not deep though around 3 inches. It’s stuck around all day though, so we decided to take a flask and a bite and have a drive around Strines and Langsett area. Not many folks out at all, but it is a bit thicker, bitterly cold and a bit foggy away from towns. Lovely scenery though, and we enjoyed using some of toys on the Jeep. Back home now, stove lit and thinking about dinner……..
Langsett Reservoir, we were struck by the total lack of colour other than blacks, greys and white.

@InaD as it has turned out, if the roads were reasonable where you live then I don't think you would have had any problems getting up to the site. It started to show around 11:00 last night but when we got up it had stopped and there was about 1.5" of snow on the ground. However it has rained for most of the day and there is very little of it left now. As this is our last night here we will miss meeting up with you, maybe another time. Enjoy your stay at Meathop.
The morning view over Low Meathop Marsh.

Interesting photo @Takethedogalong nice to read that you had an enjoyable day out.
Hope you are soon over the infection and are allowed home soon, @KjellNN
Sorry to hear that your granddaughter is back in hospital, @DEBSC and hope that she is fit enough to return to uni when term starts.

As tonight is our last night of our current trip as usual I have done a trawl through our time away last year.
We had 242 nights away in the caravan, at 65 locations, including some repeats, made up of 27 CL stops, 6 CSs, 13 on C&CC sites, 2 on CC sites, 6 on Commercial sites and 11 on THSs. This year our average cost was ~ £17:19 pn.

@nelliethehooker Always find your annual stats interesting. Best we ever managed in one year was 121 nights away! Happy touring for 2025.

Thanks for the comments about the photos @InaD @Cornersteady @DavidKlyne . I'll try the resize thing, CS.

@nelliethehooker The roads where we live had quite a lot of snow on them this morning, definitely more than 1.5". No gritting done on the roads immediately around us either, so getting up to the motorway could have been "interesting". It did start to melt around lunchtime/early afternoon, but by then we'd made the decision not to risk it and unloaded the motorhome.
Thanks for the update though, and the photograph. The stats you provided are impressive, especially the cost per night, excellent!
A safe trip home tomorrow, hopefully the roads won't be icy.

@nelliethehooker - 242 nights away is amazing, Nellie! Well done.... We only manage between 70 and 80 most years....

I have just seen your post about your relative's accident. My car was driven into last April by a lady who admitted liablity right away. No-ne was hurt in the accident just the cars. Her insurance company (Arriva) arranged a repair with a local company and within an hour after it was booked in for the repair, I received a phone call about the accident, which I realised was from an ambulance chasing tout trying to persuade me to contact a solicitor who he was recommending to claim personal injury. He was not pleased when I told him I realised what he was and demanded to know who had given him my number. He was so hard faced that he tried to infer that I was in the wrong for asking him questions, then put the phone down! I received another similar call a week or so later from someone else. I assume that it was someone from the car repair company who passed on my name and phone number, but it should be illegal for solicitors to pay people to pester the public to make false claims, which is perhaps what happened to the woman who had the accident with your daughter's OH.

Having sustained an injury some months ago I’ve been off my feet in recent weeks and out of circulation. Rest and total relaxation has been the order from the doctors but hopefully I’m now well enough now to resume our tours in the motorhome. It all kicks off in a week’s time, a nature holiday to Costa Rica (not in MH) and the final planning and packing is now upon us. Wishing all on C&MC and Club Together the very best of touring in 2025!

That’s how to do it Nellie, cracking statistics, just shows what you can pay if you mix up the places to stay a bit more. Low nightly average makes it easier to get out more, something we were doing as well. I think our nights out last year were around 15😢😢 Not something to dwell on.
Sorry to hear you haven’t been well Micky, hope you enjoy CR though. Best wishes to K and Debsc GD as well. We had a power cut overnight, can’t have been a long one as heating still warm, just mains tripped, possibly a power surge. No obvious issues. We were only out a couple of hours yesterday, but it was nice just to go for a drive. Booked our first non family event for 2025 yesterday, off to the Cycling Nationals again in Manchester. That’s February, so will be doing some other local days out now kids have gone back to school. National Mining Museum is calling, only an hour away.

Hope you're well on the mend @mickysf and enjoy your holiday. We've not had any snow at all here on the east coast, indeed, it's been above freezing for the last few days. We've had relentless rain though and when I popped into Beverley earlier this morning, the road was flooded in a couple of places. Didn't bother the Treg though😀, and at least it's had a good wash underneath now!

5" of snow when I took it off the car this morning. It moved easily enough but we still have lying snow. Looking out of the window at The Van it has a good 3-4" on it still. We've had a bit of snow/hailstones but a good deal of sun today which has started a slow melt.
Obviously we didn't move from the house yesterday but I went hunter gathering this morning, to Tesco!
Good to hear you're fit enough to get to Costa Rica @mickysf. Take it easy but enjoy yourselves.
Great photo @Takethedogalong. Grey is the new black.
Best wishes to those ones still poorly or have relatives who are.

Thanks for the best wishes folk, I am on the mend but the strange thing is I cannot recall a trauma which has caused the ligament/tendon damage. I’m putting it down to an age thing. It’s fine at rest but weight baring and walking has been painful. The doctors told me it could take months before I’m fully fit so feet up and rest was needed if Costa Rica was to remain on the cards. This inactivity has, at times, driven me crazy. At the end of the day, although an inconvenience to me, I’ve remained mindful of those with far more serious health issues than I. I must say thanks to our NHS, we don’t know how lucky we are to have this service, I’m now on the mend but I did feel a bit of a fraud and became somewhat of an encumbrance to Mrs SF and the family in the early weeks and during the Christmas break . Hopefully it won’t flair up again whilst on our travels, particularly during the long fight over there which I’m not relishing. Thankfully, I’ve checked, there appears no need for me to report the issue/condition to my travel insurers. Fingers and toes crossed.

Good to read that you are on the mend and able to go on your trip to Costa Rica @mickysf enjoy your trip.
Hope you are able to get away on your rearranged trip, @InaD and that you can get away in your M/H more often @Takethedogalong

After all of yesterday's rain most of the snow had gone, and we were able to get away without any trouble this morning. There was still plenty of snow on the higher ground as we headed home and surprisingly quite a lot on the pavements around our streets, which thankfully has mostly melted this afternoon, as we are forecasted freezing temperatures tonight. Caravan unloaded and 3 rounds of washing done.

Not having been out much since we got back from Chatsworth after Christmas, I think we were both suffering from 'cabin fever' - so decided to go out to blow a few cobwebs away. Had a lovely short walk on the beach at Bridlington and then a coffee in our usual cafe on the prom. Meg had a lovely time as well!
Despite the calm see - look at the big breakers on the horizon!
But then I spotted what has to be the ultimate tow truck - would probably come in useful if we eventually get the weather currently being experienced in the USA at the moment😀

that is some piece of kit! 🤩 Glad you had a nice day out. Bitter cold and very icy here, I didn’t risk the Mini up to Mums today.
Had a book culling day yesterday, hundreds of books now boxed up and going to take them to Brodsworth (EH) for their second hand book sales. Going to sort out some more stuff as well this month. We have an afternoon out booked as well next week, another tour around Wentworth Woodhouse, this time taking in the cellars and attics. They are doing 2-4-1 prices if tours are booked this week, so good value. Back into the knitting as well, I like to be doing something, even if it’s only filling an hour while Mum has a snooze.
Big birthday in our house next week as well. The hound will be 15! I have saved a big cardboard box for him to spend the morning trashing🤣 it’s his favourite occupation at the moment. He is still so very funny bless him🫣🥰

@richardandros that looks like a good day out, glad Meg got a run on the beach.
@Takethedogalong that sounds like a grand offer, have an interesting day out. Hope the weather has improved before your tour of the house.
We had a hail shower just before I headed out with Flyte for late walk last night so the pavements were rather slippy and a bit worse this morning. It did warm up then we had more hail before a thaw set in this afternoon and all the ice has now gone. It may freeze again tonight but the paths are dry so much less slippery.
