Enjoy Wells WN. One of my favourite places. As you say, always lovely to be there. We shall be in the area in a couple of weeks so plan a visit. So sorry to hear that the lovely clothes shop is no longer there. That is really disappointing, it was still there when we visited last June. I presume the horse is still there? We were surprised that the Dutch pancake ship was seaworthy enough to make the journey home! They must have completely dismantled the lovely little railway by now? So many changes and not all of them for the better sadly.

We had a good weekend gardening between the showers on Saturday and in the cool breeze yesterday. Grass cut, some Shrubs cut back and a good tidy up. It looks a lot better but still some more cutting back to do. I had a lovely meet up with ex work colleagues and now good friends for a coffee and a catch up this morning at a local garden centre. The main topic of conversation was the funeral and also 'The Queue'. We didn't touch on the political situation at all.

Our heating which is set on the thermostat switched itself on this morning.

Millie, the clothes shop I was referring to is the one slightly up th High Street from the Quay not the one on the corner, just in case of confusion. We called in there last October when down in a cottage with MiL at Holt and it did look like they were getting ready to call it quits.

We might, just might be cycling into Peterborough next Tuesday so if you are on duty at the cathedral we'll make a detour and call in. Time to arrange that Dental appointment methinks! Wherenext and lycra might just too much for you.🤣

Wells used to be a summer visit for my OH as all his family came from Norfolk and he has just said there used to be a boating lake called Abraham's Bosom and fond memories for him thought is was between the pier and the beach but said a long time ago.

Enjoy your visit WN and Milliehull in a few weeks time.

Gone very Autumnal here quite chilly this morning although it did warm up a bit to 18.5C this afternoon a bit different to last week when it was nearer to 30C, forecast for next week looks a better week so have got friends coming around to help us clear a corner of garden greenery already chopped down so with two trailers we can get it to the local skip.

Just had a small heater on for a short time tonight but now off.

Yes WN, all being well I shall be on duty at the Cathedral tomorrow morning and Tuesday 4th morning, the following week 11th we shall be following in your footsteps as we shall be Norfolk bound. We revert to winter opening hours next week so won't be open until 10.00am. It would be good to see you. I might wear my shades cool as I am not sure I can cope with you in lycra laughing

Easy drive down to Pewsey Vale, using the road up over the downs past Knap and Walkers Hill forts. Much cooler today and windier in Wiltshire than near Gloucester. Another new CL for us, recommended by WN who stopped here last year. Definitely another popular spot as this one too is full. Had a walk along by the canal this afternoon between the odd shower. We too have had the heating on, in the van, but only for a short while.

Tda, well done with the bike ride. Hope you managed to fix your mum's shower and got the other jobs done as planned.

Sorry that I'm a tad later than promised but, after a successful Jabbing, I didn't go to Morrisons  but tried DAGFIELDS the semi-local Crafts & Antiques point for a change. Much Building going on there, I asked how long one building had been open and was told " this one is six years old that one is newer and the other will be completed and open before Christmassurprised.   Came away wondering A} where those six or seven years have gone and B} when ABM makes his mind up will they do a delivery run coz my Ducky wont hold all that I fancy  wink.

Got my C19 Jab done quite painlessly -- no arm aches and no belly aches either  so now all that is filling my diary is the annual Retinopathy Check  as well as my Flu' jab  so things look to be on the up and up today  laughing

Happy days are here again ...........................

Do so hope you lot are at least as chirpy as wot I iz  { football fans excepted although E have just equalised at 2 ~~ 2  smile

    and now they { WE } lead !!}

WN, not sure if you are aware, but the Howells (of Butcher/Deli fame) actually own and run a couple of small campsites. One is a CL, t’other is a CS😁 Of the two, we prefer the CS.  Basic, but fabulous locations. Think they are both just outside Binham, of Priory fame👍

Busy day here, got Mum’s shower sorted, good temporary repair, and now safe. Lots of other Autumn jobs done as well. Spent the evening getting some makings ready to take into shop tomorrow, love making the stuff but hate the pricing and display bit.

Weather forecast for our two chosen destinations ain’t looking promising so far for next week. Glad we don’t commit to Club Sites nowadays, still have options.

Made our first two bookings through the new booking system  last night one for Berwick and another for one of our local club sites. Seems a lot longer to do now than before but that may just be because it’s still new to us. Had to input a lot of our information again hopefully it saves it and next time it’s a bit quicker

Not much happening here at the moment but autumn has certainly arrived quite chilly in the evenings now

Off out today, check up and blood samples yesterday, had enough of surgery visits till the next session in two weeks time! OH recovered from Covid jab more quickly this time (the new double jab) so await my turn on the 7th. In between we have a birthday outing and a garden club supper.

We are off to see family in Warwicks next month, visit friends and then a trip to the Lakes, have booked a solo theatre visit in Keswick, dog and OH happy on their own for the night.🐕‍🦺🥃

Moved again yesterday to a site down near Carcassonne. Site fairly quiet and will close at the end of the month.

Weather still not great, very windy with gusts. Rain in the wind at times but it passes quickly enough. Moving down to the Med tomorrow but even that doesn't look great until the weekend. What happened to all that lovely sun they had in France.

OH has gone for a walk this morning, a chap came round the site yesterday to say he does a walking tour of the village we are in, twice a week, today being one of the days. I didn't fancy it so have done some laundry and enjoying some quiet time to myself.

We have our dates for our Covid jabs but it's October. We won't be home until Dec and the number to phone is a free phone number that you can't use while overseas. Here's hoping we can change it online. They certainly don't make it easy in Scotland.

Hi TG which site are you on near Carcassonne? As to the sun it will be back next week we could get upto 24C that will be good.

Had some light rain overnight and have been doing some inside chores and sorting a few things out, decided that we not not need two IKEA Poang chairs so one will be advertised on local Le Boncoin taking up space I could do with and looks like I will have another big sort out through the winter when unable to do much outside.

A bit dull here and breezy and looks like stronger winds in the next few days and I do not like strong winds.

Easy to change appointments on line TG, there was a link on our letter, but you should be able to find the correct page without the letter.

Now on our second site of this trip, CCC Dunstan Hill.  Surprisingly busy here but the site is spacious.   We have plenty of space to put up the awning, but not sure we will bother.  We do not really need it when just the 2 of us.

Had a late lunch and a snooze, so off to fetch water and inspect the facilities now.

Very cold when we left our East Lothian CL, sunny and a bit warmer here.

Use to spend hours in the second hand bookshop.  Managed to get a number of first editions at reasonable prices.  It’s a pity so many independents couldn’t survive

Weird weather here now.....bright sunshine with heavy rain and hailstones.  Front windows of van are like a waterfall, site roads like rivers.

Just as well I have fetched plenty of water for today!

Thanks Kj, we tried it but we can't get any dates far enough in advance just kept returning 'no appointments available' they must be only releasing dates in small blocks, really don't want to just miss the appointment as that's a waste. Will keep trying to get something for later on, might have to book something for Nov then rearrange that again for Dec. Its either that or get my sister to phone up and explain.

Both of us have flu jab at Drs on the 8th, then covid jab at the covid jab centre on the 14th. I had a visit to the nurse yesterday too for blood samples, thyroid and cholesterol check.

Im already envying you your trip to the Lakes Brue. We were only there for 4 nights this year but we crammed a lot in and had a wonderful time. I do love Keswick. We queued for absolutely ages to get into Bryson’s though but the tea and plum bread was worth the very long wait. And I love a mooch around the chocolate shop. Oh an I nearly forgot, the cheese and onion hot pie from Booths was the best pie ever. (We did do other things than just eat)

    It is SO COLD HERE!

Home safe, but walking off the plane at Manchester was like walking into a freezer!!!  It wasn't just me that was caught out as most of the passengers were in shorts. We did look silly walking out the airport building.

If anyone is ever using Manchester then the meet and greet car parking is highly recommended and for those travelling to Pisa (and I've heard at Rome airport too so might be all over Italy) there is no separation for passports as there is one line for EU and UK.

A great holiday seeing family and friends not seen for a number of years and visits will now be more frequent again.

Thank you all for the great comments, they are appreciated.

We are just a bit further on than Trebes, a village called Rustiques.

Nice site huge pitches. Facilities are good, wooded site but there are open pitches.

If the wind wasn't so bad we would be on the bikes but it's to strong and gusting to make it a pleasant ride. Shame as canal du Midi is only a couple of kms away as is Trebes.

Off to the Med tomorrow, as you say weather picks up again on Friday. Only been over a week but it feels so much longer, not used to it being so chilly at this time of year.

I did wonder whether you would be able to book for December.

The best idea is probably to book for November, then alter it again later.

We used to go in there quite a bit, well I did when Mrs WN went into the art shop opposite. I don't know if I look shady or not but the old lady who ran it used to follow me around. I used to go around in circles until she stopped.laughing

Had a pleasant morning at Titchwell today. Apparently we had just missed the White Tailed Eagle as it had flown eastward. It was a tad chilly on the knees but it has stayed dry all day.

Can anyone recognise the breed of sheep in the photo. Obviously they haven't mastered the art of showjumping yet judging by the state of the fences. They walked around the last one as well.surprised

Sounds like you've had a great time,  Corners - I'm very jealous!

But it's only a fortnight till we go on our postponed walking holiday in Spain, so not too long to wait.

This week I'm down in Cornwall - just me and Ralph. Mrs M has a busy week and I had a free one, no bowls till October. Telling the neighbours she's kicked me out in an effort to get sympathy and meals cooked for me, but singularly unsuccessful so far! laughing

Margaret had her automatic blood sugar monitor fitted yesterday so all she needs to do now is zap it with her Smart Phone and hey presto she has he blood sugar reading. No more stabbing the fingers to get some blood out! The App on the phone records her readings and I think they are sent to the Surgery so they can also monitor her readings. I think it might even alert her to a low reading so she can take action although we have not seen that yet. A bigger win for Margaret was that she has been taken off one of her many tablets with a promise of a full review of medication to follow!

Currently these monitors are generally only available to people with Type 1 diabetes but the Diabetic Nurse told Margaret that they hope to get most people with Type 2 on them as well. Although these devices are expensive it must be borderline whether there is much cost saving keeping people on the old method as the test strips and needles to get a blood sample are very expensive and of course there is some saving in sharps disposal as the boxes won't fill up so quickly.
