Day of recovery for us and general housekeeping after yesterday's exertions when we had a cycle ride out to Hornsea from Hull.

So today it was shopping, washing and general laze about until after lunch when we moved the legs around with a shortish walk this afternoon. Lovely warm breeze from the SW.

Good service indeed JVB. We have a local bus driver that insists on driving through the village whenever MiL is on board in order to drop her at the end of our street. His route usually bypasses the village. Funnily enough she's always giving him earache but in a nice leg pulling way. Most other people just either ignore him or complain to him. Niceness brings its own rewards if you wait long enough.

Yesterday was our shopping day, so drove over to Malvern where we also had a couple of short walks on the common before returning to the van to prepare for our move to the next site. Today we left Bromyard and are now on a CL at Bulley, near Gloucester, which we have visited once before. After setting up and lunch we had a walk around Kites Nest Wood.

Your holiday looks wonderful Corners. Just my cup of tea👍

Been a nice day here, so sorted greenhouse out ready to over Winter some tender plants, having persuaded OH to out his tomatoes. A few more garden tasks as well. Enjoyed a ride along the Athens Riviera as well for some exercise, and signed up for another cycling challenge, this time to ride routes around European Capital cities. First one up is Prague in a couple of days👍

Nice evening enjoying an old Montalbano, sat in front of the fruits of yesterday’s labour…………toasty😁

A hot day, well to us anyway, the Duomo and lemon ravioli for lunch which I've never had but highly recommend. Just spent the day wandering about but back to Florence tomorrow.

A warm but cloudy day in Gloucestershire. Main washing done and dried nicely outside before the forecasted rain came around 5:00 this evening, and it is still at it so will be a wet walk out shortly. We had a pleasant walk through part of the Forest of Dean, but didn't see any of the wild boars, only a single muntjac deer.

Not started challenge yet Nellie😁 It’s a beautiful sunny day here today, so we are taking bikes over towards Bakewell, and going to do Monsal Trail again.

Had a lovely afternoon at Brodsworth Hall and Gardens yesterday with Mum and Sis. They don’t have enough House volunteers to open top floor, which is very sad. Gardens looked wonderful. It’s where I used to volunteer, so I know it well. Some nice changes though in last eight years since I left.

Catching up at home today and listening into BBC Sounds as daughter no 2 was on the local radio last night talking about Somerset Art Weeks (starting tomorrow) if you're in the area various venues open and hands on demos etc.

Slightly less fun OH had his Covid jab this morning, the new one, not feeling brilliant just now. Tomorrow I get a flu jab, wondering if I'll get the same Covid jab in Oct as I hear they may run out.

Naples looks lovely Corners, the Italians in our extended family come from that area, the ravioli looked very tasty, I bet the local pizzas are good too!

Still nice and warm here, snow in the north?!! brrrr...........or should that be grhhh...wink

Had an easy drive down from the Humber today to a CL we've used before near Boston for a few nights.

Passed the Lincolnshire Showground on outskirts of Lincoln today and they had a Motorhome show going on. Looked very well supported. Glad we weren't any earlier as looked like lots of traffic early on.

Only here for the weekend and move to Norfolk on Monday.

Quite a warm day weather wise and a clear sky tonight harbours some cold toes at bedtime. Might have to use the hot water bottle, aka Mrs WN.wink

Moved again today now at Vouvray on a nice site, 14€ a night. Lots of Brits on here we out number any other Nation. Haven't seen this amount of Brits on one site since before Covid.

Weather nice during the day but it has been really chilly at night 6c, had to put the heating on. Not usual at this time of year in France it's usually close and humid in the evenings, having built up the heat all summer. I wonder if autumn has started early here after the hot summer they have had. Might have to go to Spain earlier than planned.

Helen, all the best for your upcoming op, sorry that you are having to go through it but thank you very much for sharing it with us on here ❤️

I've been following post but not always able to post myself, glad those away are enjoying their trips.

    Hi OneP.

We will be in Wells. Intend to see some friends for a couple of days and the rest will be birding, maybe a cycle ride and walking. Might even partake of the odd Broadside as it seems only polite.

    Are you knocking about?

I'll drop you an email if the timing is right for Saturday if you fancy company around Cley. Give it a bit longer this time. Waiting to hear from our friends when they can fit us in as well. They're in Norwich, but probably won't be weekend, depends on medical appointments for one of them.

Great photos Nth many years since we have been to Westbury Court gardens and that is an old Holm Oak very impressive.

Did see a lot of Plane trees whilst away and on a boat trip on the Canal du Midi the guide said that over 2000 Planes trees have been removed due to disease and now being replaced with a certain type of Oak that is immune to the disease so hope they will survive, we had some Plane trees near the campsite which had been pollarded in the past and some very strange shapes.

At last we have some decent rain for about 6 hours yesterday and OH had just finished mowing our field to get rid of the old grass growths etc so a quick dash to put tractor away and I helped get all the other bits of gardening equipment away and the the rain got heavier, but it looks better outside now and the sun as come out and much lower temperatures for the next week, more hedge work was done yesterday and another trailer to the skip gosh it was busy and the locals just park anywhere but I moved the car and OH managed to get trailer back onto the car, think folk are having a mass clear out at home not just gardening stuff amazing what you see. Now having a quiet weekend.

Enjoy your breaks folk and your trip through France tammygirl.

A bike theme today, everyone here has a bike as all of the city on the north side is flat so really any old bike in any condition will do and no need for gears either, so this super bike looks a little out of place! I can't place the model but easily £7000+ ?

And a group of cycle tourists stopping stopping in Piazza di San Pier Maggiore where the church of the same name used to be as shown in the 1740's.

PS Highly recommend the restaurant on the extreme left, Natalino's, was good in my youth and personally tested last night and still excellent, no need to thank me - it's another service I provide.

We spent sometime in our caravan this morning - parked up in a field behind the house. Back in June we went up to New England Bay for our first getaway of the year. On the second day we had a phone call about a family emergency and we had to break camp and dash home. We threw mostly everything into the car and then abandoned the caravan in the field. I realise now we’re not going to go anywhere this year so we’ve “winterised” it and I’ve brought the bedding and towels in to wash. Plus 9 cans of Fever Tree tonic we found in a cupboard. I’ll try and use them up with some Gin.

Goldie,   I do so hope that you have fully checked the ' cans ' expiry date  and taste before you spoil a good glass of gin wink

P.S.  Hope that your OH has his own brand of ' pain killer '  smile  I did mention some time back that the lady wife of one of my nephews was waiting on a Hip Replacement --  well she has had the op,  spent some time recuperating and has now been given permission to get back on her horse !!  No great strides yet, as she says  " Baby Steps Only "  so, if nothing else, at least she can see her OH & friends eye-to-eye again !!

P.P.S.  -- don't over work him clearing out the caravan  !!  Everybody underestimates  the weight of tack we put into our ultra-mobile holiday homes  surprised

We've had a right old mixed bag of weather here at Flamborough, here today.  Lashing down with rain this morning - then sunshine - then more rain but fortunately it cleared up sufficiently for a little walk down to Danes Dyke. With only one decent knee between us (Ros's Titanium version!), walking is somewhat limited but we managed the climb back up the hill to the car park cafe! Photos not quite as exotic as some are posting on here - the ones of Amalfi were particularly thought provoking - remembering sailing in there on our yacht some 25 years ago (when we were fit!!). Anyway, here they are just to prove we are awaysmile
