Plant buying with Mum and Sis yesterday, lovely local rose nursery. We are heading out in MH for day, taking bikes onto Trans Pennine Trail. OH has his new op date now, so fingers crossed it comes off this time🤞

Another horrible day here, rain wind and cold, you would think it was the end of autumn. Have resisted putting on the heating during the day but in the evenings it's chilly so it goes on for a couple of hours.
OH down at men's shed this morning, so I've had a pamper session, self treated but it was nice. Now sat having a cuppa watching the rain, think the gardens have had enough it can stop now.
Kj glad you are getting some decent weather, your side of Scotland is even worse than here with the rain. Sorry to hear the gKids have both been poorly, as you say good to get it out the way before summer hols.
Once OH deems to come home we are going into town to take my car back to the garage, it went there in January to get the A/C topped up. However when we had a few hot days here it didn't produce cold air so it's going back. Must be a leak or something, if it's going to be expensive I won't bother, I can count the number of days it's needed on 1 hand 😂
MH went in yesterday for Mot, service and cambelt change. Now that is going to cost. Despite having it booked before we went to France they hadn't ordered the Cambelt when we checked last week. Yesterday they still didn't have one 😩 hoping it would arrive during the day. I suspect they didn't order it until they had the vehicle in their garage just incase we changed our mind. Not that we could it was due at 5 year point and we are nearly at 6 years now. I hate the MH sitting around a garage for days on end, much prefer it where I can see it, at home or preferably on a campsite 😊

Packing again, it’s all I seem to do lately. We’ve just had another week at the caravan at Stratford. You can tell that as the weather hasn’t been too good, scorching the day we got here but chilly and windy ever since. Seems cold or wet each time we come. Our parasol hasn’t made it out of the shed this year. Need to get home now as our daughter has a hospital procedure appointment many miles away and OH is driving her back after it. Also then youngest granddaughters birthday and we have been invited for birthday tea.
Our son and family are coming to the van at the weekend, with us all using it it’s never empty for long. Others on site are left empty for weeks on end, seems a shame and not cheap if not made use of. The touring site has been fairly full most days though.
Stratford not very busy today, until we popped into the Dirty Duck for coffee, they were packed, with the staff run off their feet. Things really being back to normal.

Brue, I remember the Starcross ferry well, we used to stay near Starcross many years ago when the boys were little. We use to use the ferry to get to Exmouth for a change of scenery and beach.
Glad you're enjoying your few days away.

Had a " told you so" moment yesterday, when our new neighbours moved in next door one of the things we told them was not to leave anything outside overnight especially shoes as the local foxes would pinch them. At the time the neighbours thought I was joking, he told me yesterday his new pair of £85 trainers which he'd left outside the back door had gone missing!

Went into town yesterday, needed a few things, bit depressing as there seems to be even more empty shops, however we now have a new multi screen cinema which has finally opened after lots of delays. Our shopping centre now allows dogs inside although not into all the shops.
OH has now fitted new control panel on the caravan fridge, all back to working on gas as well as electric, saved us a few pounds too.

Ttda, will keep everything crossed for your OH's op date.
Glad you had a good week in Stratford DEBSC, Enjoy the birthday tea.
Tammy, sorry to hear the weather in Scotland has been wet, still very dry here the water butt is in desperate need of some rain. Hope you get the MH back soon.

Fingers crossed that all is fine for the op this time around and that all goes well. Wish him the best from us.

And a + 1 from Brian as well !!
Wife of one of my nephews has not only had a Date { Aug 9th } for the hip replacement that she most urgently needs, but has been into Gobowen Hospital for the Pre-op checks so things are moving along nicely

Fingers crossed this time tda. I hope all goes well.

My worst nightmare cleaning the caravan, just finished ours and after nearly 3 months over there and the last 2 weeks pitched under a tree to get some shade she was in a terrible state, but Fenwicks caravan cleaner and bobby dazzler did the trick, took me best part of 6 hrs but she now shines like new, took the car to the nice eastern europeans, for £25 they do inside and out and do a splendid job, they would do the caravan but not the roof, health and safety they say.
Must say it is good to be back home, weather has been reasonable, lovely cool breeze on the beach, visited High Cliff yesterday, only because a guy was selling a full 4.5kg calor butane cylinder quite cheaply so thought we would make a day of it, must say that all area is very beautiful with some wonderful walks along the beach and most of it is dog friendly which is a plus.
Caravan will stay on its pitch now until August, we have a weekend away in Kent for a friends birthday, and then we have a month booked in Devon for September before venturing over there again, probably staying for Christmas, doing a spot of house sitting for daughter and hopefully celebrating Christmas in their new house, dont like making Christmas plans so early in the year, but it has got to be done.
Good to see folks have been getting out and about and enjoying themselves, unfortunately several of our friends have the dreaded covid, so were are keeping away for a while, dont think any are particularly ill, thanks to the vaccine, but best to be safe.

All equipment that was insisted on before OH could be discharged delivered monday in two separate deliveries?,front room looks like a mobility showroom now
OH now home 4hrs after time given by hospital as no transfer ambulance available before, had to then move bed to enable wheelchair access to front room
I had already advised the person who came to assess house that it would not all fit , which she admitted to when OH arrived but was adamant it was all needed by both of us

I hope you don't mind my asking, but how long had he to wait, after the hospital agreement that the op was necessary? My husband is waiting for a new hip, and when he saw the consultant in March, and signed the consent form etc, he was told it was a year to wait. Since then the mobility has decreased, and the pain increased. He has finally realised there are some things he just can't do (like changing the electric fence on a steep hill). Luckily our grandson has finished college so now works full time at home.
I have considered tripping him up (perhaps with the aid of a cat) so he would be injured and get seen sooner. Only joking! And he would probably fall on the "good" side.

Meg made a new friend on the beach, this morning
Part of the "Puffin Trail" which extends from Bempton Cliffs to Spurn Point.

Hope you don’t mind me answering this as well Goldie. My experience (and I realise all areas are different) was a few physio sessions before they realised it wasn’t helping, about 6 months, then I was referred to a senior physio who did other tests and referred me to consultant. I saw consultant in early December signed everything and I had my operation mid February so I know I was lucky to be so quick . Fingers crossed for your husband, it is lovely to be pain free that side, I just wish the other side hadn’t started hurting now!!!! 🤦🏻♀️

It was only because OH had a fall at home and dislocated her hip that she has had a replacement as the hospital staff have said.,it was because of the accident and after treatment, they decided upon the full replacement otherwise it would have been a. long wait
I have been told since it is a case of continue to push and your GP to make a very strong case to get it done quicker
My daughter works for Spire Health and it is usually the same surgeons that carry out most ops in their private theatres as the NHS but with minimal waiting times
She saw one of our village practice GPs at her private hospital doing some training

And there you have it, Goldie
, answers by the page-load and all shewing what we have now come to expect from the NHS !! Inconsistency across the whole range of Services. My nephew's WIFE has had problems with her hip for some years now, and only got a definite " WE MUST REFURBISH YOU " just before Christmas and this for somebody who worked in the Children's Section of Leighton Hospital until her mobility meant that she had to take up more sedentary duties in the same area. She still got a pat on the head from her workmates as she was 'Colleague of the Year' in her new posting. Have to say Nephew takes it all in good heart even tho' it means that he has to care for, and muck out, their horses after a day driving his desk doh !! And to think that before they married { eldest off spring now well into his thirties } his only connection with horse power was 6 ~ cylinders Hi--octane fuelled track machines and a lead-soled right foot

Spoke to my cousin the other day and her husband had covid a few weeks ago now. Didn't think anymore of it after it cleared but a week later he's having problems with breathing and energy levels low. They reckon he has Long Covid and is on inhalers and a referral further up the chain. He is the second person I know with long covid.
Unfortunately you never can tell with this dratted virus what effect it will have on you.

Ah WN was going to let you know where we were staying!
We were on a Temporary Holiday Site with the C&CC, close to the seafront in Exmouth. No small sites nearby except a CS a good walk from the town. We're home now. We've done this before a few times as both clubs run rallies etc on the Rugby Club fields in Exmouth and it's such a good spot. This time we avoided the circus but got the weather!

Yes Covid is well and truly around. Got back and we were both due at the hairdresser's tomorrow, but bless her, she likes Glastonbury and takes her family and has now come back with Covid. Our hair will have to grow longer....
Hope your family member recovers in good time. Our grandson wasn't well but has gone back to school this week, waiting to hear if his father took Covid to Glastonbury or came back with it....(he was already at Glastonbury when they discovered Covid had struck at home.)
Best wishes to the TDAs hope there are no more delays with the hospital.

All packed up and ready for our cross country drive to Moreton in Marsh tomorrow. A few light showers today, nothing much and the sun soon dried out the awning.
Still very warm here at Sandringham, a few torrential showers on Monday, but they did not last long. Yesterday we took a trip up the coast and along to NT Morston Quay where we had a picnic lunch, followed by an ice cream, and looked at all the boats. Then back here via Fakenham where we bought some milk and odds and ends to keep us going. The site shop here is not open.
Poor little Nathan is still developing chicken pox spots, his face is in quite a state, and it is very difficult to stop him from scratching them. DD has had to take some unplanned time off work to look after him as Daddy is on standby for jury duty, Granny has Covid, and so now does Granddad.
Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary, so OH has booked a meal out in M in M, courtesy of Tesco Clubcard vouchers. Nothing fancy, but will make a nice change.

Thanks brue! The meal is at an Italian place we have been to before, so should be good.
DD is not too happy at having to use more of her holidays due to the jury duty issue, but fortunately she had several days spare from when she was on maternity leave.
They are off to Lewis for a week soon, then coming to take over the caravan in the Lakes for a week at the end of our trip, so we hope all the spots will be gone by then.

Congratulations for tomorrow KJs. Can I just ask, are your Tesco vouchers for ASK in Moreton? Only asking because we have some for ASK due to run out in the next month or so, we tried to exchange them at ASK in Stratford and Wells, neither will take them. Not one near to us here so, if they will take them, then Moreton it might have to be next time we are at the caravan. Thanks.

Congratulations to you both KjellNN, hope you enjoy your meal, and your stay at Moreton in Marsh.
Glad you arrived home safely Brue, we always stayed at Cofton in Starcross, in a static as this was before we got a touring van.
Been a quiet day today, weather breezy but no rain, washing all dried outside. Quick trip to Aldi for shopping and then off to work. Did manage to book a CL for a weekend in August today 🙂

Horrible heavy rain today, damp cold and miserable
finally stopped late afternoon.Been busy on the computer booking the tunnel for our September trip, had to exchange the the Tesco vouchers first then book tunnel. Boy has the price gone up. Still not a lot to pay having used the vouchers. Had to adjust the dates as we were 4 days over once I put in our dates for Lanzarote in March.
MH should be back home tomorrow

Hope its dry tomorrow I'm getting fed up being in doors, wardrobes and dressing table all tidied up. Kitchen cupboards all done even the chest freezer has been sorted.
Happy anniversary to the Kjs have a nice day tomorrow.

We are in the same position with some ASK vouchers, hope to use them whilst we are away otherwise they will just go by the wayside! We also have some Cafe Rouge vouchers but they have closed so many restaurants that it will be almost impossible to use them before they run out!

Thanks for the good wishes, we are in full “keeping away from everyone” mode now. I do the pop into shops, masks, sanitize, repel all boarders🤣 We had tickets for the France v Italy Women’s Euro Finals next week, but have now passed these onto other family. We are still having days out in MH, mainly walking and cycling, hoping to get away next week if Mum ok. Don’t want anything to prevent him going in this time. Every sneeze, cough etc… is analysed. We can safely do our own thing in MH, and it will be a couple of months after op before we can think about getting back on the road again, providing things go smoothly. Pray to whoever he doesn’t acquire COVID while he is in🙏.

We always used to get the Bella Italia ones, but they have also closed quite a few branches, the only one near home is in the centre of Glasgow, which is not that convenient. Our Ask place is also in the city centre.
It was much better when the vouchers were not specific but could be used at any participating chain.

Congrats from us as well K😁 Hope you enjoy MinM. If you like gardens, there’s a beauty on up the hill past the Club Site called Bourton House Gardens. Not huge, but some of the best herbaceous borders we have ever seen, would fill an afternoon if you did the small arboretum walk they have there as well. If going up the hill, you park on the right, and the house and gardens are just over the road. They do nice teas, coffees and cakes as well. Nothing like as big as Hidcote or Kiftsgate, but not as crowded either.
