Amongst all the worries and questions JVB it sounds as though you might have your OH with you soon. In a way it's better that everything is checked out even if it delays the homecoming. Our eldest had to have a bed downstairs after a serious back operation and it wasn't easy. Do hope all goes well, look after yourself too.

Had forgotten it was the solstice, nice weather though for seeing a good sunrise 🌅

    Enjoy your trip TDA.

We are going local for our little break.

Glad to hear your OH hasn't broken anything Helen, but no doubt quite painful.

Hope your neighbour gets home safely too TG.

Redkite our neighbours here had a pool and even in hot weather wet suits against the cold were needed! It's  been filled in recently too much maintenance and not enough warm weather.

Off to West Bay this morning, a fishing licence collection trip for OH and a couple of hours of sea air for me.

Well yes the NHS does seem to be getting worse if our experience yesterday is anything to go by. Our daughter has been suffering from back problems for years, after a riding accident. 10 years ago she had major back surgery, which was all excellent, couldn’t fault the NHS then, and did give her mobility for a few years. However 4 years ago her mobility and pain got much worse, ending up with her having to use a wheelchair out of the house and taking opioids every day. She did some research and said that she thought, caused partly by her back being fused in the previous op, that this time the problem was in her hip. Has only managed to see one Dr once in the hospital in 4 years and he said it was not her hip, nothing could be done and she just needed pain management and physio. The physiotherapist refused to touch her and referred back to the Dr, who, without seeing her said no it was her back and referred her back to physio, who again wasn’t prepared to do any physio on her. She was getting nowhere. So yesterday she saw a Dr, private, within 20 minutes he diagnosed a major hip problem and recommended surgery asap. That will be 18 months on the NHS but too expensive privately. However, he is going to try something to reduce the pain in the meantime. But advised definitely no physio, so my daughter and the physiotherapist were right. 4 years of intense pain, drugged up on the strongest painkillers and unable to walk and using a wheelchair, then to be told she was right all along and it can all hopefully be fixed by a relatively simple op. She was so relieved but so angry. Hearing other issues on here about our Health Service it’s all adding up to being seriously worrying.

3t's a warm day today here at The Firs CAMC site in Derbyshire. Went to find the Heage Windmill followed by a visit to the White Peak Distillery. Then on to Cromford Canal for the obligatory hot drink and cake. Got as far as Matlock Bath and decided it would be too hot to walk around so a quick visit to the co-op to pick up food for tea, before returning to the site.  Off home tomorrow.

After spending a fair bit of yesterday cleaning out the grey waste tank which smelled like a Turkish wrestler's armpit, today I gave the motorhome a quick wash over to remove the last month's accumulated grime after our travels.

Didn't manage to get on last night but wanted to say that we had a very enjoyable day spent with the "Nellies". Walking in the morning/early afternoon and then had them round for a coffee and blather which was spent sitting in the garden in the lovely weather.

Off for a meal with MiL and OH today. We walked down to the pub about a mile away as it was so nice. The meal was most enjoyable as well.

Spooked the woman at the library as I rang them to ask if they a book in just as the librarian was looking at my account as she was chasing up previous requests for me. Took her quite a while to calm down and accept it was just a big coincidence.laughing

Small light on the horizon, as at last seems to be listening to what I have been telling the physiotherapy dept at the hospital, as OH has been given some walking exercises today and she is much improved

We had both the physio and occupational therapists ,in attendance and that both tried to say it was her hip they were thinking of before giving the type of treatment both OH and myself had been saying was required

In the circumstances we have all agreed  to have as a temporary. measure a hospital bed delivered for OH to use  down stairs and I have said ,they can also deliver. transfer trolley for our use and no  need of any carers coming in and the occupational therapist. has agreed when all equipment delivered  she will agree to come with OH to see how it will work,,on the proviso that OH will accept one carer to assist myself if there is a problemsurprised

As OH is determined to go to her Birthday bash next Sunday, ,I have agreed that weather permitting?  for her to use her mobility scooter for the  journey to the venue at a pub in the next village (about a mile and a half ) as long as I can walk with her via dad's not across the fields so she can be available for a lift by someone if she finds it to muchundecided

Bad move there , WN,  you really should have left her feeling that you have eyes in the ceiling  above her work station !!  It's a hell of a good way to ensure they always have your needs and requirements at the sharp end of their work rota  wink

Well done brue. So pleased that your Open Garden went well. And relax ....... Have a nice break. You deserve it. I hope you have a good trip as well tda. Lovely to hear that the WNs and the Nellies had a good get together. JVB I hope everything works out well for you and your OH.

The weather here continues to be glorious. We went to East Ruston Old Vicarage garden. On Sunday. Well recommended if you are in this area. The 2 guys that own it sometimes leave out one of their vintage cars. This time it was a wonderful Rolls Royce. OH wished it was his Father's Day present😅 Having noticed that the diesel.has gone up by at least 5 pence a litre since we have been here we have used the local buses the last few days, as has everyone else it seems!

All the best to your OH for a quick recovery  H&T. Hope it isn't too painful.

Nice to hear about your holiday Millie, we are planning to use the bus on ours (used the train last time but that's out frown) Have now got a horrible cold so don't feel much like packing the van, must get a move on.

Good luck with the home arrival and birthday JVB.

That sounded very complicated Triky, I looked in on the thread.

Nice weather, keep wanting to tidy the garden, force of habit after last few weeks. wink

Goldie will you manage to get away again, sorry you had to return.

We are a couple of hundred metres from Cromford Canal😁 Arrived yesterday, glorious weather. Only us and one more, best pitch on site, huge, sheltered and both shade and sun. Had a walk then sat out reading. WiFi signal, even tethered is virtually none existent, but that’s the Dales🤣 Scorching already here, but we shall head off on bike ride at some point. Very quiet around here, main road in is closed due to a landslide, but it’s not affecting us. Love this little Site, a while since we have been.

Another sunny day here, not hot but nice and warm for outdoors working.

More work in the garden and OH sorting out my shed. He has put up shelves and clips for my tools. I now need to go and tidy the rest of it 😟

We had the day off yesterday, it had rained overnight so outside was all wet still in the morning, so OH went to the Men's Shed. He is learning how to use the 3D printer.

I spent the morning doing housework and cleaning the oven 😲

In the afternoon we went out, OH had the dentist for a check up and I went shopping.

Good to hear the WNs and the Nellie's had an enjoyable day.

The friends we went to France with have been in touch. They have booked getting a roof satellite installed on their MH, they have bought a number of other things we have, that they took a fancy to, that will come in handy for 'over there' and they are looking at going away again this year to France. Silly I know but we are feeling like proud parents 😂😂😂

Its a two way street really as we have purchased a few things they had we liked, my biggest one was a Remoska. I've heard others mention them over the years but had never seen one in use. They are not a cheap item but I've been using it in the house and getting on fine with it so can see it will be a good choice for those 6amp sites. I also decided to treat myself to 2 collapsible saucepans, so much easier to store. Some reorganising of the MH before our next long trip.

Break over time to go and tidy up outside.

Enjoyed reading your trip to France Tammygirl.  We are considering it next year again but early days yet!  We have had a Remoska for many years, in fact ours is getting really scruffy looking now but too expensive to replace as it works well.  We use ours at home and in the caravan, it should save a few pennies on electricity use!

Also interested you trip TG and that your friends want to fit a satellite dish fitted as friends of our have just purchased a small LMC  A class motorhome here in France and of course it has a dish fitted and they are not keen on that so could be a white elephant for them, we can take away a ground mounted one on a tripod if needed.

Some old friends of ours used to have a Remoska many years ago we have not got one although later in the year I do use a slow cooker again low voltage, in fact forgot that a smaller one is in a tall cupboard in the hall I spotted it the other day when looking for something else.

Just packed a few things away in a large container of boot sale stuff for a boot sale with friends in August.

Just been in the pool much cooler than the other day very pleasant and the new ladder is much better.

Well they forecast a heavy storm last night not here some thunder and about 8mm of rain and again today but no sign of a storm a few clouds about and breezy also a heavy storm for tomorrow night will see what happens as the garden could do with it and the local rivers as they are very low.

Hope to sort out our sites for September for a break with our friends we shall be away a bit longer than them so will have 5 nights away before we join them nearer to Carcassone.

Well, after two days here at Broadway site, it's off back home tomorrow.  I don't know how everyone else has been finding it but the heat here is absolutely unbearable - 30+ degrees - even at nearly 6pm and not a hint of a breeze.  We used to relish hot sunshine, but as I have got older I find it intolerable.

Nevertheless, had a nice walk into the village this morning, although spent a fair part of it sitting on a seat in the shade under a beautiful old oak tree - Meg was relieved as well.

The Cool Mat, that I've posted about under another heading, has certainly come into it's own over the last couple of days!

Been a busy couple of days here we got new windows put in at home the old ones were coming up on 30 years old guys came yesterday morning at 8 and only finished today so far happy with the job although it’s been a bit messy so a bit of a clear up in order house looks good now and hopefully these windows will be more efficient and keep the energy bill down a bit. Got another car show at the weekend then we will need to start getting the van ready for our 3 week trip to Devon in a couple of weeks

Another grand day out walking with the WNs, after a faltering start, although it was a bit warm at times. The only downside of the walk was that the pub at the end didn't open till 5:00pm. However Nellie's Bar was able to come up trumps, and glasses of Old Speckled Hen and Bud shandy were enjoyed sat outside the van.

Last of 4 nights here before we head into Anglesey.

Good to hear that those that are away are also having a good time in this lovely weather.

heddlo, great to hear your views on the Remoska. I've been trying ours out at home since I got it. Roast chicken joints done fine, roast potatoes also, tried a puff pastry sausage roll in it tonight, cooked from frozen was lovely. Trying to gauge how long things will take to cook. Curry, chill and bolognase will be fine I know, will check out baked potatoes next 😏

RK, our friends had a free standing dish with them which worked fine, he was just envious of ours 😁 push a button and it does it all automatic 😊 for 1 nighters it is great not having to get everything out. We still use a free standing one with the caravan.

Moved a bit further north yesterday and for the first time in a couple of weeks the temperatures were perfect. Not saying I mind it hot, but it does limit walking somewhat. On the climb out of the Ardeche the temperature even went below 20C at just over 4000 feet.😂 Stopped the night on a lovely little Camping Car Park Aire at the quaintly named village of Louroux de Bouble 70 km north of Clermont Ferrand. This one has facilities and allows tents and caravans  from April to September. When we arrived there were only three of us now seven, although it has a capacity of 26. Onwards today towards the Loire.

Looks very nice, we stayed on quite a few of the CCP Aires when we were out there. Very impressed with them, we even had one all to ourselves.

Will use more on our way to Spain later in the year, we found them much quieter than on a campsite.

    Enjoy the Loire.

Thanks TG. Now arrived at a site we used in 2017 just south of the river in Chateau country. Glad we weren’t here a week ago, just talking to another Brit with damage to their MH from the large hail that fell. Apparently there was quite a bit of damage done to vehicles and RV’s on site.

Enjoy your trip by the Loire SteveL and yes we have heard that area had been a lot worse than down here, had some thunder this morning and possibly some more later in the day also had some heavy rain but not enough for the dry ground no hail thankfully but friends had the same storm than us today and a lot worse even had hail and very strong winds they are higher up than us.

Very sunny here now and 27C on weather station but much cooler now and inside thankfully.

just returned from Spain, spent a couple of days in the Madrid area (Aranjuez), on the return journey, 43 degs C, we have been using a cool mat for the dog for years, we slept on towels yell, onboard fridge could not cope, but all good now a cool 20 degs in Stubbington.
