Obtained a second Safefill cylinder the other day and, having changed over the pigtail thought I'll run the gas to check no airlocks. Discovered Fridge burner, after lighting, would go out and keep recycling the procedure. After much unsuccessful fiddling, phoned local motorhome workshop, explaining that I was off the France on Tuesday. Fitted me in that afternoon, resulting in a new burner assembly and a £250 hole in credit card. yell Just the sort of panic you don't need just before a ig trip.

I am glad some of you can see my new avatar, if only I could🤣 I am logged in, but not according to my profile🤷‍♀️….both of them, the one to the left, and the one above.
ABM, much to our disappointment, we missed the Stranraer cycling. We were up in the wilds of the Galloway Forest Park that afternoon, looking at Wild Goats (as you do🤣)
Glad you got away Nellie. We had call from hospital for OH on our way up (Mainsgill Farm, our lunch stop), but they went away to consult surgeon about something and we haven’t heard anything else yet, so we are just carrying on🤷‍♀️ Got a phone signal ok, so not that.
Gorgeous morning here, our entertainment is swans taking off and landing on the loch, and a herd of cows that come down for a drink and a rodeo each teatime. It’s better than watching for early arrivals, surreptitious grey water dumpers and all that shuffling towards a peg!🤣

Wow another fabulous day. Son and grandson came this morning, made good use of the muscle power and strength! Even if it was very short notice and I gave myself a lie in....

He dug out a Veronica that I'd had to hack back, it was old and woody so not much loss and leaning over and killing the grass. OH had managed to get most of the 3 foot sycamore out of it. Then he shifted a HUGE pot with a very dead Kilmarnock willow in it, along with the biggest ants nest I've ever seen. The birds had a feast on the larvae and grubs and the little black ants tried hard to bite is both. Despite getting rid of most of the Veronica greenery I'll still fill the green bin, which was only emptied yesterday! And I'd scrounged space in a neighbours bin. We can have a 2nd bin, £50 yearly charge July to June so council lady said hang on as it isn't pro-rata ..... I'll hang in to the bits once they're chopped smaller and put in as and when. Son then helped his dad finish fitting a centre handle and lock to the personal garage door whilst I got us an early lunch.

Grandson is a good eater so fed him continually whilst preparing it, dog was in heaven with dropped bits. Boy I'd forgottenthe mess they made- even with the dog 'sweeping'. They then left the mess inside and out to head home for a nap before swimming. Whizzed vac over the floor but decided too warm for anymore, we've got loungers out plus the sunshade,

Hasn't been used for ages as other garden always had shade unless there was a large crowd. Really lovely to enjoy the garden .

Crows are mobbing the kite again, I suspect they're trying to raid nests. New entertainment for us.

    Have a great day folks

Glad you managed to get it sorted cyberyacht. Phew.

Milliehull my password isn't on the login page on either my phone or tablet, but the email address is. If I go to type in email address appears automatically and password inserts itself, as it should, but often I have to accept cookies on every thread as open it....

Result on the lawnmower. I'm not expecting similar tomorrow when I  have to return a floor mop bought Thursday. Called a magic flat mop a very well known expensive make 🤬. No way would it squeeze together to wring out water, so very wet wash! Showed it to son, said don't try too hard and break it.... you've guessed it. His reply not fit for purpose. Which it's not! I even tried googling how to use it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh course I did silly. Just had cardboard round it 🤣🤣🤣. Never thought I'd have to ask how to use a mop!!

Not had any stress since we arrived, loving every minute! All the stress comes from not knowing if or when it will happen then add on packing up, or organising bits for others to pack. Oh I lie I forgot some stress since we've been in - telling folk of change of address to hear repeatedly, my call us important and someone will answer you as soon as they are available. Why not try the website?...........

Anyway I'm just chilling I'm the garden and thanking the creator for a beautiful world and wonderful day. 😉😉😉

We just got back from a day out in St Annes, the sunny weather was too much to resist even though I have lots of jobs that need doing in the garden and the windows are in need of a wash. Still there’s always tomorrow.wink

Beautiful day here as well. We went to Logan Botanic Gardens today, very interesting. Then onto Port Logan fo4 a late lunch and a walk with pooch along the beach. He still loves a dip. Too cold for us, other than a paddle. Drove back up East Coast past New England Bay Site, quite a few on there. Nice even8ng now, but there’s a chill breeze, an£ the forecast is dire😬 No matter, we shall find something to do.

Looks like we've had the same weather as you lot in Blighty. Beautiful day.

So on with the bicycle shorts and out on the bike to pretty villages with pretty canals running through them and pretty meadows between them. Pure delight. Took our time as well.

Got back late afternoon and lazed after a well earned shower. Sat watching the young stand of Willow trees planted on the edge of the campsite dripping sap. Looks like they are crying as one can see them clearly with the sun setting behind them.

Only downside is that Farmer Giles has been out muck spreading nearby and boy can we smell it.😱

Wonderful weather here as well. Decided on a bit of retail therapy first thing. Went to Springfields Outlet Centre near Spalding. I havent managed to find clothes I liked for 2 years or more but I found plenty today 😁. Such nice friendly staff and plenty of bargains. Before heading home we had a spot of lunch sitting outside in the sun. We have spent the afternoon sitting in the garden enjoying the lovely weather. All in all a good day. Weather forecast not good for tomorrow so glad we made the most of today.

It sounds as though tda and wn have both had a good day out as well. Bakers2 pleased to hear you had some muscle to help in the garden as well as a visit from your grandson. Hope you find a replacement mop that doesnt break.  Yes I keep being asked to agree cookies as well. Very annoying.

We are not Eurovision fans so are watching the programme about Tebay Services.

Wherenext sounds like a lovely day until farmer Giles 😱😱.

If the wind was in the right direction we could whiff that in Essex so nearer it must be delightful.

Rocky no severance pay, loads of notice thus opportunity to find other employment. This government allows for such treatment 😉😉😉.

Takethedogalong sounds like another good day. Good on you for dipping your toes in the sea in May. Mind you I would have been very tempted too.

Beautiful evening, sun still streaming into the lounge via the bay window and a clear view of the full moon through the almost leafed Ash tree through the window that faces south. Later walk for the dog due to some old football match dragging on and in 🤣🤣

Great to read everyone's news. Glad that all is going well in Holland and up at the Rinns, apart from the tumble, and grand places to visit up there too, shame you didn't manage to get your dip in the briney, tda.

It's been a fine day here too, and we had a walk around and above Cogra Moss, a hidden gem that we had no idea existed, even though we have been here before. All went well till I was taking a photo and OH was holding Flyte. He decided to do a rapid circle round her, resulting in pulling her over, a bruised and cut knee and aches this evening.😲 Tomorrow may be interesting!!

Good to read that you are getting a handle on all the jobs at your new home, B2. Millie, we are just pleased to be away, especially in a nice quiet area. Nice that you were able to pick up a bargain or 4 during your bit of retail therapy.

Oh dear Nellie, hope Mrs Nellie ok. I restocked our first aid kits this time out. We looked long and hard at the sea yesterday, it did look inviting. The pooch had no such reservations, he was straight in.

Sounds like things are coming together in your new home Bakers👍

You will be waking up and seeing Drogon flying past AD, with that curtain. Nice idea though.

Yes, it’s very different. We watched it as broadcast live, and like you did get that 🤷‍♀️ feeling. But enjoyed watching it second time round and picking up more of the detail. Stick with it to the end though. The episodes are long.

We are just back from a nice weekend away at Aye Craigie Gardens CC. Things didn’t start too well on Friday (I knew we shouldn’t have left onFriday 13th) shortly after joining the bypass at the end of our road the van started really wobbling around behind the car it was a bit breezy but not that bad anyway we slowed down and continued on but something wasn’t right then just as we got off the roundabout on the way in to Ayr there was a loud clunk from the back of the car and each time we hit a slight bump in the road the clunk got louder and louder but we managed to take it easy for the last two miles to the site but on arrival it was clear the car was sitting very low. After setting up the problem was obvious a part of the back suspension drop link had came completely off. It was early afternoon so took it to the Volvo garage just round from the site who wanted £150 just to look at it and couldn’t guarantee they could fix it over the weekend no chance we were paying that (why we never use Volvo main dealer) anyway took it to a Kwik fit left it with them on Friday night and got it back Saturday morning £90 all in To fix it so a good outcome. Weather was nice yesterday so didn’t do much just cooked on the Cadac last night then sat out for a while. Easy and uneventful tow home today although it’s pouring now. Hopefully get away for another weekend soon and we are booked to be away for the jubilee weekend got 4 nights.

Hope everyone else has had a nice weekend

Hi folks.  Just trying to catch up on all the news.  Hope everyone has been making the most of the good weather we have had these last few days.   A bit duller here today.  We have had some rain over night as the paths were wet this morning....  Off family visiting in a moment....

How about some nice snaps of the area you're staying in and the places you've visited?

(That's a genuine request BTW! smile)

I take an interest in everyone's posts, David, particularly the ones showing pictures of where folk are staying,  even if I'm unlikely to visit myself. It's why I always try to include some when we're away ("over there" next week - as long as I can get the bloomin' PLF sorted - so you'll like them! smile)

Like your new curtains AD and hope we see some more designs.

Got back home today at 12.15 so car unloaded and caravan unloaded rest will wait until Monday, oh boy has the grass grown OH nearly disappeared down the bottom of the field to turn the water on ha ha but plants look ok as a friend has been around watering them for us.  Off shopping tomorrow and get some fuel for ride on mower and hand mowers etc as we need to cut grass first before we can move caravan on to its parking spot and the other chore OH has to do is the tax return before the month end but it is all online and a lot easier to do that will keep him burning the late night oil good job he is a night owl. Had a lovely break and will go back to the one campsite at Brissac-Quince next year as there is a lot to do in the area including the largest display of roses in Europe about 10km from the site, not sure when next break will be might be a short  break nearer to home next month nut nothing for July and August to many folks about for us.

    Take care folks.

Weather didn’t look too promising fir our bike ride this morning, but we hung on a bit and it fined up nicely. Rode up to outskirts of Stranraer, then right across peninsula and down into Portpatrick….where it commenced to rain just as we got our lunch out🤣Found a nice bench up by bowling club, so kept fairly dry. Set off back in the dry again, back up and over tops again. Glorious views, it’s superb for cycling round here. My longest ever ride today, lots of climbing, but I managed ok. OH barely broke sweat🤣 He looks after me well though. Lots of Hares around.

CL is full again. A very nice Hobby Excellent caravan, looks so much better built than British ones. Hire MHs on site for last two nights.( £1200 a week for one in next pitch) We heading down to Whithorn tomorrow, have a mooch down there, hope we get an overnight stopover.

There used to be an annual Rose festival in Doue-la-Fontaine RK as we stayed at the municipal many years ago during it, purely by chance. I don't know if it has survived, the festival and the municipal😂.

Another lovely sunny day, a bit less windy and from the east. Making the most of it by riding out direct from site. This time we headed east. Less villages and more meadow land with part agriculture. Still canals, always canals. We did have to go through a very touristy place, Blauwe Hand, set on a lake so plenty of boats for hire and static parks as well. All looked in good condition though. We eventually worked our way to where we wanted to be, about 12 miles from our site. Lovely meadow area.

Fortunately there just happened to be an ice cream parlour half way round. It would have been rude to pass it by without tasting the goodies.🍦

Back home, have shower, wash clothes, relax. Lovely sunny evening.

There's some rain in the forecast for tomorrow but lat on in the afternoon. Have to wait and see but it looks like it's going to be a muggy day, then it will be a tueggy day the day after and a weggy day after that.🤣 (Sorry, old schoolboy humour coming through)

A rather damp and cloudy day here today. One day of summer and it's over (for now). We have sorted through OH's wardrobe and cleared a lot of stuff for Sue Ryder and the bin. I was trying to persuade him to buy some new trousers yesterday and he refused saying he had too many.  He hasn't now laughing

Sounds as though Scotland has better weather than us TDA. I admire you cycling efforts and also yours WN I sold my bike a few years ago and sadly we don't walk as far as we used to as OH's mobility is not too good.

We have 2 weeks on the Norfolk coast booked for next month so I will remember your request moulesy and post a few updates of what we are doing. It won't be as interesting as others (or what we used to so) but we will do our best wink

Some photos, especially for Moulesy, from today's outing.

The Church Bell Tower was found outside a Protestant Church. The sculpture is that of a man digging peat, the main occupation many years ago, hence the canals nowadays. There's a lot more Reed cutting done in the area now and many of the houses have a thatched roof.
