Hi David. My security is combined with my BT account & Macafee .It was BT that blocked my account when it was hacked !!

So I assume its your email account that has been hacked rather than your computer? It's probably a good idea to change passwords at regular intervals. I always use Norton installed on all our computers which, thus far, has proved successful.

Found a lovely woodland walk today that would suit you with lots of birdlife, not that we were able to identify any as it's hard trying to view when guiding Flyte. A couple we met had seen Pied Flycatchers, Redstart !and Wood Warbler, and they admitted to being novices! Heard plenty of Cuckoo's calls too. We parked at Watersend at Loweswater and walked through to Maggie's Bridge through Holme Wood, and back via the waterfall. Great views down the lake to Whiteside, Grasmoor and Mellbreak.

Great photos, WN, you certainly picked the right country for you both. Tda, there is also another M/H stop over place at Kircudbright, in the park at the south side of the town.

Following you round Nellie. Visited Cockermouth yesterday and whilst Mr Brue enjoyed a riverside stroll with the dog I had a good visit to the Wordsworth's home. A beautiful old building with a real atmosphere of the past. I could wave to Mr Brue from the little terrace.
Nice walks around Keswick and Hope Park where "Max the miracle dog" is remembered.
Now onwards and upwards to the NE.

Lovely photos Brue, thanks for those. Love the Lake District but a long way for us to go, a long way for you as well. We have booked our regular B&B for September, been going there for years, it’s so lovely, a real find, so popular that I booked last October and we only just got in with the only days that were left. We will stop over at our van in Stratford outward and homeward. We will undoubtedly visit Keswick and Hope Park, so lovely to see early photos of it. We like the little cafe in the Park, always good. OH always likes to stop at Castle Rigg on our way back to the B&B, it does seem a ‘magical’ spot.

It's that time of year again. We've been reading the forecasts and checking the seaweed, and yesterday the mowers came out. Silaging 2022 has begun. We were rained off last night, but today it's go go go (so far).
Meanwhile I'm making up lunch and supper boxes. Beef sandwiches today (our own beef) and homemade cakes.
These ladies are looking on with interest.

I think those ladies have spotted their future picnic Goldie😁 We are enjoying all the different cattle and sheep breeds up here at the moment.
An active day for us today. I was up early for a swim in lovely community pool at Kircudbright, then after breakfast and dog walk, we heading up the scenic route to Threave Gardens. Amble round the gardens, while the pooch had a sleep in MH in shade. Beautiful colours, very interesting. (Not impressed with Cafe though, overpriced and very mediocre offerings). Then off to park up at Threave Estate to view the Ospreys and have a look at Threave Castle, from river bank, as yet another HS property closed😡 Nice walk, took the pooch in his chariot to bit of a workout shoving the lump along. Great views of Ospreys on nest and flying. Back at swimming pool Aire again, somewhat surprised we got a pitch up, but it’s the free park ups that are full tonight. We are perfectly happy paying £10 for this. The income helps fund not only the Aire, but the pool as well.

Sounds like a grand day Ttda.
We too have been inspecting the sheep. Came across a flock of Jacobs Sheep. The lambs look great all dressed in their chocolate coloured coats.
Whilst we were out on the bike again (I think it's compulsory here in the Netherlands) we didn't venture too far, a mere 15 miles today after our day out yesterday. Stayed fairly local. Spotted a rather innocent looking young man reading a book. These days I suppose they'd make one with him holding an iPhone.
Mrs WN rather naughtily took one, principally according to her of the caravan on the pitch, but secretly because I was having 40 winks in the warm weather.

Had a ride to see the local windmill, well one has to doesn't one?

We had a tremendous downpour yesterday evening but thankfully it only lasted about 30 minutes. After that we had a beautiful sunset. The other photos are of Loweswater towards Grasmoor, the Goblin Tree and the view through the trees in Holme Wood, although not in that order!!😆

We were deluged last night as well😲Lasted a good hour or so. But a really lovely day today. Looks promising tomorrow as well.
Just been reading up as to why so many HES properties are closed up here, and have been since last June. Sounds like shocking mismanagement and poor decision making. There are wire fences, locked gates, closed visitor centres everywhere. We haven’t been able to get into a single property all week. Have resorted to climbing over low walls where we can to get a bit closer. It must be costing a fortune in lost revenue and security fencing.☹️

Brue, we have visited Wordsworth's house in the past so gave it a miss this time. We don't want to leave Flyte overlong in the back of the car at the moment. Have a safe drive up to the NE.
Sounds like a good day for both tda's and the WNs. Glad that you were able to see the Ospreys in flight, tda, they were stationary whi!e we were there. Did you spy the Peregines at the nest on the castle? Get more grand photos, WN, I'm sure you were only pretending to have a kip!!😄
Had a walk along the coastal path by Haig Colliery today down towards Whitehaven Harbour. The mining museum is closed at present to the general public, only taking pre-organised trips. On the way back to the van we had another walk past Rowrah Hall along one of the old tramways, now part of the C2C and the Sea2Sea cycle route. For the 3rd day out of the 6 that we have been here we met the same chap with his 2 Springers out for a walk, quite a coincidence in an area as large as this.

TtDA,
I understand the problems that you have been having, trying to get into Stately or similar properties !! Yesterday I had to take Aged sister to the vet's and we had to ring a doorbell then go and sit in the motor until they had a nurse / medic / vet available -- oops sorry there I forgot to say it was the CAT needing attention, not the sister
. Info passed over, moggie taken, treated and checked. Feline returned by vet along with information about his condition as well as a Bill !! Bill duly paid at external window rather like buying tickets at a 1970's footy match
. Good job it was a nice warm day with a gentle breeze. I think it's just a trick to get the vet's staff up and doing requisite number of paces per dog / feline
Well goldfishes dont walk a lot

Currently sat in departures at Heathrow waiting for our flight to Lyon. Typically for me, we arrived in loads of time to allow for queuing at check in and security but sailed through both with no hold ups at all.

5 hours is a long time to spend at Heathrow! (Plenty of shops for 50% of the party to look round though!

Have moved on again today. Left Re this morning and took a leisurely drive down to Taillebourg. Stopped on the way for a big shop, think I over did it. Fridge and every cupboard now bulging at the seams 😅😅
Now sat on a Camping car park aire at the foot of a Château. I think it was probably a Municipal site at one time. We've had a lovely walk around the grounds, then into the town and back along the river, stopping off for an ice cream, well you have to when it's 25c.
We have done 3 sites so far and now an aire. Our friends are settling in to the way of things over here. Heading for St Emillion tomorrow for a couple of nights, then into the Dordogne. Might suggest our friends try a few days on their own to see how they get on 😲
WN, TDA, you both sound as if you are having a good time away, like us lots of cycling, we did 18.5 miles the other day, our friends were pooped at the end of it, they are only used to 5 or 6 mile rides.
A bit of thunder early hours this morning but no rain, we heard it rumbling towards the island then pass over and away, still hot and humid today with a bit more cloud cover.

Just popped in to see what's going on... Great to hear folk are enjoying their visits and holidays. I've spent the morning cutting the hangovers from the hedge at the back and tidying the rest of the garden, in preparation for our next little visit out in the van... up to Hebden Bridge CAMC site. Part of this afternoon practising a Handel concerto with a cellist and oboist. Now getting ready for tea, followed by our usual Singers practice, later. The gardening tired me out... hope I can keep going for the rest of the day... 😀😀🥱🥱

Set off late morning for the travel northwards to our next port of call, at a site on the edge of a fortified town, Dokkum, about 5 miles from the North Coast.
It was an easy drive on excellent roads and we arrived about 15 minutes after site re-opened in afternoon. Placed on a comfort pitch, same as serviced, except this one is on grass but with nice hedges at head height to give one a bit of privacy. Halfway through setting up when the heavens opened and a thunderstorm sped over us, so we obviously waited it out in the caravan.
Did some food shopping to get us over the weekend and after dinner strolled into the town centre which is very pleasant. Bikes are on the back of the car for a quick getaway in the morning as, weather permitting, we'll be taking a ferry over to one of the Wadden Sea Islands for the day. Exciting isn't it?

Nice to hear from you Tammy. Might be a good idea to have some time apart from your friends. See if they really like it on their own and if they could manage.

Busy week here as so many Cathedral volunteers are on hpoliday this week so I have done extra duties on the Welcome Desk where it has been made more exciting by having some big school groups in at the beginning of the week. Plus I am doing a tour tomorrow. Hopefully back to normal next week.
Lovely photos from those who are away. Interesting to hear about the bike rides as well. I hope you eventually got away from Heathrow moulesy without too much money being spent in the shops 😏.
We havent been anywhere this week partly because I have been busy at the Cathedral and partly because OH's energy levels are still low post covid. Instead I have included a photo of one of our clematises in our garden. Sorry I forgot to resize it so will add it later.

Another lovely day here, mostly chilling out by a beach at Balcary Point. Now up at another stopover in the Forest, not far from Dalbeattie. Cash machine not working, no card payments, so I guess that’s a night free then😁 Lovely and quiet, just us and one other PVC here. Loos, but no other services. Except the 7 Stanes to play with😁

Talking about card payments.....
Today Mr Brue and I decided to use adjoining public Loos, male, female plus a radar key one in the middle. Unfortunately they all had different notices up outside. Ladies said card or cash, gents said card only, radar said cash or key. I didn't have anything so borrowed OHs debit card and went into the ladies. Came out and gave card to OH who went into the gents, as I stood outside I thought I could hear female voices coming from the gents. Mr Brue had found himself using the urinal whilst two elderly females used the cubicles..they met mid stream so to speak. Have to say the signage was very confusing and the payment machines were inside the entrance doors. What fun for 40p each!!

After it seems much discussion between the surgeons and consultants it was decided that OH was to have a full hip replacement, operation which after three hip displacements in the two weeks OH ,has now today got a new replacement hip and is recovering

Sounds like an expensive experience, brue.
Enjoy trip, M, once you finally get there.
We too moved up country, as it were, to a new to us CL between Lochmaben and Annan, an easy drive without any holdups. It's all grass, but closely mown and a hard surface considering the rain that has fallen over the last few nights. We're here for 4 nights before heading back South again. It has been dry all day with a strong wind, which must have dried out the ground somewhat.
Good to read that others are having a fine time away. Hope you get your ride over on the island WN. Red route for you tomorrow is it, tda?
That's a fine clemetis, millie, do you know it's name?

Just catching up with things, lovely to read about all the trips away, some lovely photos too.

I finished work at lunchtime today, packed the van and we are now in the forest of dean for a few days. Weather has been sunny and warm. Had a walk through the woods this afternoon the bluebells are almost gone, but the wild garlic was amazing, the smell was very strong.
Safe travels to all those away,

nellie no sorry we have had the clematis for years and I cant remember it's name. For some reason it is particularly good this year
Have a wonderful time in the Forest of Dean Helen and Trevor. Such a lovely photo of the wild garlic.
JVB good to hear that your OH has a replacement hip. I hope her recovery goes well from.now on.
That sounds like an exciting morning yesterday brue 😳

Another great night. Very quiet. The lanes and woods all through our D&G tour have been covered with bluebells and wild garlic, much like H&Ts photo. We bought some cheese and wild garlic scones the other day, delicious.
Thought we might wake up to rain, but none so far. Cloudy though, but hoping it stays dry. No red route Nellie😁 I did walk the Blue route though last night for a bit of exercise. OH had an hour on my bike playing (he brought his road bike this trip).
Fingers crossed everything goes well now for your OH JV🤞and that she can come home asap.
We will meander along coast and back to to our last overnight stop today. Final two nights back near Caerlaverock/Glencaple.

JVB do hope your OH is soon on the mend after her hip replacement. I had mine done 3 months ago and it has worked a treat so fingers crossed all round and hope you, and she, can get some useful assistance going forward.
MILLIE your Clematis is beautiful. I love clematis but we have no luck with them here, although that could be my fault and not the plant but we have tried a few and they never thrive.
Lots of great looking holidays happening around and about, take care everyone and enjoy yourselves.

Silaging is still the main job of the day (between milking/feeding etc). Not a late finish last night (before 10pm). Weather forecasts seem to constantly change, so we aren't planning too far ahead.
If all goes well, we may get a day off tomorrow for our niece's wedding. It seems so wrong to say this - but if it rains we'll definitely be going!

Delighted to hear that your OH has had a FULL HIP Replacement JVB and is recovering Well or so I hope
-- seems strange to be offering thanks for a major operation but it should reduce your problems dramatically JVB66 or so we all hope. Very Best wishes for a smooth and swift recovery for your OH, But dont stop growling about the previous incredibly poor treatment by the Night Staff.Would have been earlier with the good wishes but they started Essential Mucking~about again at 10:00 last night grrrrrrrrrr

Hmm, How does the old song go ??:~~
Push that barge, tote that bale
get a little drunk, and yer land in ja--il.
Some parts would be tolerated this week-end I reckon Goldie, but not the short term over night lodgings I think !
Best wishes for the Newly-Weds !!
