What are you all up to

We decided a while ago that rather than have food deliveries we would go back to in store shopping. The exception was when we knew the shop would be busy, like over Easter, when we reverted to deliveries for a couple of weeks. I have to say that over the past two years the deliveries from Waitrose have been pretty good. Our delivery today wasn't the best! Several substitutions of things we didn't really want and a burst bag of flour! No problem with rejecting the unwanted items and a refund for the flour but it got us thinking whether we should cancel our delivery next week and go in person?
Have many of you had your second booster vaccine? We both had ours on Monday. This time we had the Moderna version. With the Oxford AZ and the Pfizer we had minimum reaction but we have had a far worse reaction to the Moderna. Anyone else experienced the same?

Sitting here on our favourite CS - Thornthorpe - just outside Malton. Glorious sunshine and really warm - so different from the last few days. Quiet at the moment but I expect there will be a mass arrival later this afternoon (the other 4 vans, I mean!)
What a privilege it is to be able to sit in this beautiful ancient orchard with a stream running along the bottom - enjoying the peace and quiet.
Having a lazy day today after setting up yesterday and determined to make the most of it.
This is what caravanning is all about

David We have had Pfizer for all 4 of ours with very little reaction, just a bit of a sore arm and maybe a slight headache but 2 friends have recently had the moderna booster and both have had a reaction. One said she felt very unwell for 3 or 4 days.

Had a Moderna booster 10 days ago, not the slightest effect although my wife complained of a sorer arm than that experienced from Pfizer. All four are now logged on the NHS App.

We're not quite old enough for the booster David (that makes a change
)but our last one was Moderna and it took us a few days to recover from it's affects and we both remarked that it was a painful one too (maybe a not so good person doing it?) So right from the start our arms hurt quite a bit.
We decided to do an early visit to Minterne Gardens in Dorset this morning. Warning to self in future EASTER EGG TRAIL don't go! The gardens usually have a "zen" atmosphere, lots of Himalayan plantings with a Tibetan style mountain hut. Unfortunatley the hut was no.9 on the Easter Egg hunt and it certainly wasn't peaceful.
To avoid some lengthy delays due to roadworks we took an alternative route home, over the lovely hills in that part of Dorset via Evershot, a village Thomas Hardy made famous in Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Not a soul around, all very quiet and lots of wildflowers out including bluebells.
Good to hear the B2s are now doing the unpacking bit, how are your backs?!
Enjoy your NI stay Millie.
Hope the hols at home or away go well for everyone, at least it finally seems a bit warmer in our area.

Had My ' Spring Booster Jab ' on 24th March at 17:00 -- was the only recipient in the area so just walked out afterwards with nobody to tell me to " Wait there young man !! " -- The only pain I felt was in the wallet 'cos I'd parked on Morrisons Carpark and had to purchase something

Can only report what happened to MiL, who said that her arm hurt for a day, which was more than the previous 3 did. I've been denied another booster as "you don't fit the bill". Had a discussion with my consultant today about it as it was my regular meeting with them. NHS Wales Rules rule OK was his assessment and there is not a great deal he could do about it but did agree it would be best to have one.
We are not going anywhere that has Easter Egg in their publicity.

After a couple of grey and rainy days yesterday afternoon it cleared and started to dry up. Still very cold in the wind.
Yesterday a couple of guys on Motorbikes arrived, they had come that day from Durness and today going on to Preston. They have done the NC500. Seemingly not busy at the moment.
We moved to the Moray coast this morning from the C&CC site at Tarland, weather much better we even have sun and patches of blue skies. Took a walk down into Findochty this afternoon to the beach, nice and fresh but warm out of the wind. CL is full for the weekend.
Glad you are finally moved Bakers2 and that you like it even more, well done.
DK no 4th jab for us underage 😊 but we've just had Covid and as we are part of the ONS study, we have had blood tests that have confirmed we have high levels of antibodies. Given our 3rd booster was beginning of Nov it has to be having Covid that has boosted our antibodies. 😊
No shortage of diesel here either Kj, filled up at Tescos in Findochty, still had half a tank left but didn't want to wait until after the weekend just incase.
Roads not busy up here but most sites seem to have plenty of vans on.
Have a good weekend folks.

We are hoping to stop off in Malton on our way up to Ravenscar on Saturday, save us some if that warm sunshine please.🌞
Have a lovely break .

Mum had her Spring booster last week, no reaction at all (Pfizer). None of us have had any issues whatsoever, all jabs have been Pfizer. We are too young for Spring jab.
Just sorting out a few CL options for next week. We won’t book until day before we want to go. Fancy somewhere not far from Grantham, then we can do Easton Walled Garden, and Belvior.

Finished work this afternoon now have 10 days off, yippee
Glad the move went smoothly Bakers2, hope you quickly get settled in your new home 🏡
Have a great time in NI Millie with the family.
All those away "enjoy " 🙂
A packing day for us tomorrow, it feels a bit strange not packing stuff in the caravan for a holiday, off to Ravenscar on Saturday for a family holiday staying in a converted windmill and granary a special treat for my birthday 🎂 🥳 .

If it's still dry Ttda then try Barn Farm, not far outside Grantham and easy access from A1. It's all grass but a really nice site with nice owners. You can walk pooch down the farm track as it is not subject to traffic. No noise from A1 even though you can see it. Plus they have horses!
We recently stayed on Wagtail AS site but it was wet and they have H/S. Again just off the A1 but I expect it to be expensive at this time of year.

We arrived home yesterday around 11:00. It was rather dank, with thick cloud and mist, but it cleared up as the afternoon progressed and the sun came out so OH was able to get all the washing out and it had dried by 6:00.
Today was fine and quite warm so I was able to get my shorts back on. I managed to get both the caravan and the car cleaned, as well as getting out with Flyte for a good run, for him not me, on the fields this afternoon.
Tda, if you want H/S you could look at this one, which we've used a couple of times, also near to Grantham. https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/certificated-locations/england/lincolnshire/grantham/casthorpe-house-farm/
We have our Spring booster booked for next Tuesday, this time at a pharmacy rather than the medical centre that we've used in the past. Wonder which brand of vaccine we'll get this time, having had Phizer previously.
Happy Easter to all who are either away or enjoying the holiday at home.

Arrived back home this afternoon after spending a few days out in the caravan at Brecon Beacons CAMC site. Our stay included a lovely visit to Henrhyd Waterfall on Monday; lunch and cake at The Old Barn Tearooms near Talybont Reservoir on Tuesday; and yesterday, a visit to see the Red Kites at the Feeding Station at Llanddeusant - but not without stopping for cake at the garden centre tre (Blossoms?) at Llangradog.

We'll do our best HelenandTrevor. Forecast is looking good for this weekend.
If you come into Malton - you'll certainly be 'stopping off'. Traffic is always stupid in Malton but yesterday, when we went to visit friends in Old Malton, we were queuing for the traffic lights from the middle of the Derwent Bridge!
Have a lovely break - you'll certainly be seeing North Yorkshire at its best (apart from the traffic!!)

Got a good few years yet before HMG class me as "a pensioner " 😉 I'm only 27, mind you I've been 27 every year since I was 27 🤣🤣 it was a good year, struggling to get away with it though as both children are now older than me!!!!!
Birthday isn't until Monday, they've given me a Bank Holiday too. 🙂

Beautiful sunny morning, bit of housework & tidying, and attempting to pack for our week away, why is it more difficult than packing for a week in the caravan? 🤔
OH is in the kitchen baking, ginger biscuits and Tea Loaf so keeping out of his way.
Hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend.

Thank you Nellie👍 That’s hopefully the one we want to visit, but always good to to have a Nellie-recommend🤣 Glad you got home ok👍
Gorgeous here in South Yorks this morning. Can endorse the County is looking splendid at the moment, I was out with Mum yesterday for a drive, we even ventured into Notts, round Gainsbro’, and Spring is definitely happening, trees greening, blossom everywhere, Daffs nodding on every verge.
Day before, OH and I took to the hills in MH for a trip across to Cheshire. Lunch at Mam Tor, then up and over to Chapel, Whaley Bridge and some very rural roads across to just North of Macclesfield. Stunning scenery in the Peaks of course. Reverse route home included stopping off at Fairholmes on Ladybower to cook and enjoy our dinner. A really nice day out. OH now has two new wings for MG, surprising what will fit into MH bath room🤣2 -
It's very warm here, time to take off the hats and gloves.
Took visiting dog and our own for a very nice early walk, had a couple of hot cross buns in the garden with a coffee on return.
Sparrowhawk is loitering in the undergrowth, he flew at knee level right past me the other day!
Have a good weekend everyone. 🐣🐥

Our local Sparrowhawk struck yesterday brue. RIP collared dove😯
We are sorted for next week, on a nice CL, £15 per night, great location. Thanks to those who gave suggestions, much appreciated👍
I started off looking for my denim shorts this morning, that task has now morphed into a full scale wardrobe sort out, and change over to Summer clothes. Lunch at the moment, then start sorting out MH for next week. OH is pounding the tarmac and TPT on his bike somewhere, and the dog is hoping for a biscuit, as usual.

TDA, have thought about Lyndon Top at Rutland. About twenty miles from Belvoir Castle and you can check out the ospreys.

Had a good long walk around the lanes this morning and met up with MiL who walked down to the pub, about a mile from home, for a coffee. She managed to time it well so that i ended up buying them.
Lovely and warm. I did say yesterday that i would be avoiding Easter Bunnies and Eggs but before we had even left the village confines a 6' Bunny came out of a house with presents that were headed to the playground for the children playing there. He had all of the bunny gear on. 🐰🐰
An afternoon for doing some gardening so some was done.

Went with the family to Lynmouth today. Our Son and family staying and we met up with our daughter and her family there. Wandered around, pretending to be holidaymakers. Fish n chips in the park, while trying to keep granddogs apart, Sons dog is very jealous of the other and wants to start a fight all of the time, she only has to see it and the growling begins, which would turn into much worse if she got a chance, she isn’t like it with other dogs she meets. Our daughters dog just treats it with distain, not interested in it at all. We played a round of putting, not sure who my family get their competitive nature from,(Me) I wore a fleece, scarf and coat and was still chilly. We certainly didn’t get London’s temperatures today.

Had a lovely walk in the woods and on the shore of Strangford Lough yesterday and lunch out today to celebrate grand-daughter's birthday followed by a walk round the village. Pleasant weather but a cool breeze.
Enjoy your family holiday Helen and a happy birthday for Monday.

We left home late yesterday afternoon and made the short trip up to Strathclyde Park CC for the night site was very busy. Up early this morning and had an easy tow down to our usual CL in Cumbria surprisingly the motorway was very quiet so much for all the traffic we were getting told about. Got set up quickly then headed in to Keswick for the afternoon town very busy we did head in to Oddfellows Inn for lunch but they weren’t doing food for some reason so we just had a drink there then headed down to the bank Tavern where we had a lovely meal. Now back at the van not much planned tonight may sit outside with a beer for a while CL full all weekend apparently. Not sure what the plan is for tomorrow.
Hope anyone else has a nice Easter weekend whether it be away or at home
