Not a very good day for us unfortunately.
Things were fine first thing with Flyte but just as I was going to take him out before breakfast, his "good" eye clouded up, and it is now obvious that he can't see out of either one. We have managed to get him out for short walks on his lead around the local greens but at home have left him to his own devices. He has been very disoriented, bumping into furniture and walls, but has still managed to jump up onto our bed unassisted and when directed to his food he has scoffed the lot!! We will see what tonight and tomorrow brings before deciding when to take him to the vets, which we will have to eventually whatever happens.
Apart from that it has been warm and dry but overcast most of the day, and we were able to get some weeding done in the garden.0 -
Sounds as if you had a good time at Brecon, David.ππ
Glad to hear that you got fixed up at one of the CLs in the area, tda. Hope your visits to to plan.
Lovely photos, millie. Good to hear that you are having a pleasant time over there with your family.
Happy Birthday for Monday, Helen. Enjoy your stay up on the Yorkshire coast with your family.!l
Grand photo, brue. Looks like lovely blue skies down your way.
A good walk that, Fish. It's nice to get away from the madding crowds.
Hope all that are away have a fine dry Easter.

Thanks CY, just seen this. One to consider for next time thanks, we are sorted this time.

So sorry to hear about Flytes eyes nellie. I do hope the vet can sort it out soon. At least you are at home so near your usual vet who knows him, although presumably there will be a delay because of the bank holiday which is a shame. I always feel that problems with eyes need to be seen ASAP.

Happy Birthday for Monday, Helen.
Nellie, sorry to hear about Flyte, hopefully a problem which can be sorted but undoubtedly a worry for the time being.
Kept hearing on the news yesterday that it was "the hottest day of the year so far". Well, not down here it wasn't - grey, drizzly and actually quite cold for a while. In fact we got wetter yesterday morning than at any time this week.
Thankfully a complete turn around today, lovely and sunny and a new (to us) walk from the attractive little village of Devoran, just the other side of Truro. It has quite a history too, having been a terminus for the disused Redruth and Chacewater railway and a seaport. On the quay there is a plaque telling the story of the village. (Would have been ideal for Mrs Wherenext asvthey had an exhibition by local artists in the village hall). The walk went round the quay and on to Carnon Downs, past a nice looking caravan site we never knew existed (Carnon Wallos - AO - with lovely views across the valley and quieter than the nearby club site. Back in the village we had lunch at The Old Quay Inn which again was new to us.
It's a pleasant sunny evening now, we head off home tomorrow, hoping the traffic will not be too bad, and then next Friday we head off again for our long awaited and twice postponed cottage break up near Clitheroe.

There's a nice CL just off the creek at Devoran and another up the hill that leads up the back way to Trelissick, can't remember the names but we've been past several times. A pleasant spot to discover Moulesy, the cycle trail goes right across to the coast at Portreath. Have a good holiday in the north next week!
I was looking at the two gardening programmes last night on BBC2. The Beechgrove Garden in Scotland was getting snowed under and Gardeners World looked slightly warmer! (I like the Beechgrove Garden, missed it when we moved back here so glad to see it on the main TV rather than iplayer.)
We'd heard the coast had got a bit damp and misty in the SW, glad to hear it has brightened up. It's been very warm and sunny inland. We had another nice walk this morning with both dogs, just enjoying seeing signs of growth everywhere.
Enjoy your birthday Helen! π
Do hope the vet can help Flyte Nellie.

We went on one of our favourite walks to Ballynoe Stone Circle today followed by a bracing walk on Newcastle beach. The weather here is not as warm as at home!
Your day sounds wonderful moulesy. Enjoy your time 'up north' next week.

Nice to hear folks are having a good time out and about, some interesting places, home and abroad. Just out of interest Millie, have you ever visited Harlaxton Manor, not far from Grantham? Looks a very interesting place, with lovely gardens, but only open selected dates.
MH all cleaned out and more or less packed. Been another lovely warm and sunny day here.
Corners, are you still getting out and about on your bike as much?

We have had a lovely day today. I was up early this morning and went a 22 mile cycle which was great lots of hills and lovely views. This afternoon we headed in to Carlisle which was very busy as they had a wonderful market on lots of stalls and a fair and people sitting out enjoying the nice weather SWMBO had a great time. We got back to the van around 5 and cooked on the Cadac weather was good so we sat outside for a while we have not long came back in to the van so just sitting having a few drinks now.
Hope things go ok with Flyte Nellie. Nice pics Millie it looks like you are having a nice time in NI

Nice to read of people out and about and enjoying the weather and their Easter.
We were feeling a bit ashamed of the state of the garden. It's not too bad, truth be told, but needed some TLC so we gave up the walk today and spent this morning sorting it out, giving the Bluebells a chance by some delicate weeding etc. Both of us now feeling the pain.
Good job I love the smell of Deep Heat.
Had a catch up phone call with Nellie. Keep our fingers crossed for Flyte but he's in good hands.

Sorry tda. Harlaxton is one of those places we keep meaning to go to but haven't managed it yet. If you do go I will be interested to hear what you think.

Travelled up to Ravenscar today, beautiful weather visited Malton and Pickering en route. Now settled in the windmill with the family, plenty of food and drink. π
Sorry to read about Flytes eyes Nellie, fingers crossed the vet can help.

Thanks for all the kind words. We will see what the vet thinks when we get in, and I will update then. We are able to get him out for shortish walks and he's eating and drinking, so fingers crossed that the cause of the blindness is nothing too serious.
Another warm but cloud day here. Got a small but awkward repair job done on the caravan's waste outlet pipe, while OH made up some new waterproof bags for the electric cable and a hitch cover.
Glad those out and about are having decent weather. Lovely pictures millie. Have a safe journey home, M, and enjoy your belated stay up at Clitheroe.
That looks an interesting place to stay, Helen, have a good time over there.

Another day out with the family yesterday. We crossed the border into Cornwall! A day in Bude, always enjoy it there. Car parks very busy but we finally parked. Lovely sunny, warm day. A walk on the cliff tops, a wander into town for a cup of tea at Wroes, and then a game of crazy golf. Then headed home to a local pub with a lovely beer garden, a playground further down was keeping lots of little ones happy, while their parents enjoyed a drink. Doesnβt seem that long ago when our grandchildren would have joined them, but much too old for that now, our granddaughter, just turned 18, sampled the gin instead!

Happy birthday Helen ππ₯π. Have a wonderful day.

Still limited data fir me so swift look through.
Great to read of folks travels and events. Happy celebrations to all concerned and commiserations to Flyte and family π€.
Looked after grandson last evening, could have gone much better but got there in the end. Used the pushchair trick to get him to sleep finally. Wouldn't eat, drink or have milk, hated his bath - probably wondering who these strangers were. He will get to know us better soon, and a calm, non stressed and organised atmosphere before being left may help π€π€. Parents had good time at the wedding. Since we arrived grandson has given my a cold and sore throat to add to my other moving aches!
Deadheaded over 400 daffodils yesterday and notice I missed a bed as I walked up the drive after this mornings dog walk! Looking forward to watching the garden develop over the year. Makes a change from unpacking boxes..... Dora and I enjoying exploring and have already found a nice circular 3 miler through very quiet lanes and fields
Been wonderful weather since we arrived, just as well as I only found my clothes from chest of drawers I moved them to yesterday! I'm wearing a sleeveless tshirt, with a fleece early and late. I put the stuff from built-in cupboards and drawers for OH in a suitcase but mine in the chest of drawers that were coming - as we understood they would take the drawers full - WRONG. Luckily an overnight bag which included dog walk clothes was to hand.
Having a day off today will try out 'new' cooker and have a roast for Easter.
Happy Easter everyone.

Sounds as if you are getting settled in B2 - well done! Hope Flyte is OK nellie - it's so worrying when something is wrong with our much loved pets - if only they could talk. And a happy birthday to Helen although I'm a bit late in that!!
Another lovely sunny day here although there is a bit of an annoying chilly breeze - perhaps it's time to get the windbreak out. Still - another BBQ planned for this evening - might as well make the most of it 'cos the forecast says it's not going to be quite so warm next week.

Lovely sunny day again here on the Moray coast. Blowy up at the CL as it open to the rear of us. Once you get down to the coast its nice and warm with little breeze.
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday with the Kj's. Lots of talking, laughing and as usual the hospitality was top notch π stopped off for fish and chips on our way back, best I've had in a long time.
After doing some food shopping today we took a drive along the coast and sat watching the seals both in the sea and on the sand/rocks.
We've had a nice time here once again, we do like this coast.
Going home tomorrow afternoon rather than Tuesday morning now. Got a message from our eldest 'where are you guys' so gave him a call. He and the teens are coming up the road for the gkids to go back to school and also for OHs Mums funeral Tuesday afternoon. So we thought it best to be there when they arrive π
Its going to be a busy 2 weeks come Wednesday, getting the teens back to school, son staying on for a few days to look over his house at jobs that need doing, before they can think of moving up at the end of the year. Of course OH will have to and assist him π
MH to collect, caravan to empty and wash. MH will need a wash before we set off for France, garden will need grass cut and the MH won't pack itself. Think I need another holiday π π π
Hope you've all had a good Easter break.

Had a lovely long walk this morning. Met 3 people, that was all, oh and a runner. Back in time for lunch.
The printer is playing up again. Looks like we'll need a new one very soon. Managed to find the magic words, Bonjour Printer, after taking printer off and then reloading it, twice!
Been a lovely day, especially for anyone having a birthday anytime soon!
Nice to hear your news Tammy. When do you actually go to France?

Woke up this morning to a beautiful sunrise over the sea, listening to the Curlews.
Youngest son set off on a mammoth bike ride while we had a gentle stroll with the dog.
Ravenscar wasn't too busy, but we could see along the beach that Robin Hoods Bay looked much busier.
Now back at the Windmill and the Lamb is in the oven and have a glass of wine in hand.π
Happy Easter π£

Glad you got moved in ok B2
Nice day here again today again I was up early and away a cycle then back and cooked breakfast on the Cadac it was very warm outside. We took a drive today to Kieldar Water somewhere we had never been but it was nice and much bigger than we expected although it was a longer drive from the CL than we thought. Back at the van now plan is to have a few drinks and watch the TV CL still full weather turned a bit now after a lovely day itβs now windy and dull
Happy Easter all

Looks like the fine weather is coming to a close, up here at least, as it started raining about 90 mins ago, after another fine warm day. So it could be wellies instead of sandals for our last walk out. Have started clearing out unwanted stuff from our loft space, so a trip to the recycling centre will be on the cards one day soon. Flyte seems a good bit less stressed today and I was able to let him off his lead for a few minutes on a deserted green this evening, so that he could do his own thing without me guiding him.
TG, good to hear your news and pleased that you were able to meet up with the Kj's. Sounds as if you have a busy time ahead of you before your next trip.
Nice to hear that you are getting settled in, B2. It looks deciduous have quite a garden to look after as the year progresses.
Easter greeting to all, those that are at home and those away for the holidays.

Been a lovely day, especially for anyone having a birthday anytime soon!
Nice to hear your news Tammy. When do you actually go to France?
Is that a hint at all?
We go in 2 weeks time π©
So much to do before going, it's going to be a busy time. You must be due to go soon aren't you.
Back home now, weather here a good bit warmer than up at Moray. Washing machine on, should manage 1 load before the sun goes off the solar panels π
Beds all made up and rooms ready for when our son and the gKids arrive. Probably another 3 hours or so depending on traffic.
We saw little traffic until after Aviemore, then it was mostly caravans and MHs I guess either going home or just arriving.
Going to enjoy the peace for a little while while I have a cuppa, very little chance of that once they arrive π©
Nellie, good to hear Flyte is a little less stressed today hope the vet can help him further.

I was going to say, Helen - stay away from Robin Hood's Bay - especially at Bank Holidays. It used to be a lovely little fishing village with lots of charm - but now it's been completely over-run with tourists and totally spoilt. There was an article in the local paper saying that only three or four of the houses were occupied by locals and the rest were second homes / holiday lets. Whitby has gone the same way, sadly. Suppose it's no different from what's happening in certain areas of Cornwall. We went there a couple of years ago on a wet, dismal day in September and the village was so packed with cars that there was literally nowhere to park - so we beat a hasty retreat.

Feeling a bit pleased with myself
Been struggling with an internet connection here on site near Malton - which is notorious for a poor 4G signal - with an EE mini Wifi router. So - thanks to a certain mail order company, have just had delivered a TP Link mobile wifi router, although I was a bit sceptical from the reviews as to how well it would work.
Just gone through the set-up process (which was straightforward) and it's brilliant. Getting 25 Mbs download which is better than I'm getting at home with fibre broadband.
Just in case anyone is interested.
