What are you all up to

Don't think we have seen that JVB. There is an extra 10% off as well as the 25% for the over 60s at 52 sites, but the dates exclude many BHs and the summer school holiday period. However the CCC peak periods are much shorter than the CAMC ones.
Then there is a 20% off for over 60s in Summer, perhaps that is the one you mean?
There are also discounts on grass pitches at some sites over summer, and quite a few other offers. Difficult to keep track of them all!

Nellie - that looks as if it has come from that firm in Doncaster (next door to S.A.P. that fitted our E&P system). They specialise in serious off-road / expedition motorhome conversions - with a price tag to match! I seem to recall seeing a promotional video on You Tube about them.
Thank you - and everyone else - for your kind wishes re Meg. She was still a bit dopey yesterday morning but by the afternoon she was bouncing around like Tigger again! Very impressed with the neatness of her stitches - but I suppose that's the advantage of having a lady Vet
(I can imagine what it would look like if I'd done it!!)As for me - fine thanks - scar healed up nicely and I'm back to almost full mobility apart from my lower leg swelling up after a couple of hours - but at least I know the aneurysm isn't going to go 'pop'! Off in the van on Wednesday for a week and really looking forward to it.

NTH some motorhome that did see one at Broadway club site just over two years ago only stayed for 1 night, we do see quite a few of them over here all professionally done ideal vehicle for going on rough terrain.
Glad Meg ok now r&r and yourself enjoy your break away.
We are in the van for 3 nights from tonight just to check everything working ok before we go to UK end of April.
Still got school holidays here so a few motorhomes about in Villefranche yesterday, there are no sites open around here yet the nearest is Rocamadour in the norther Lot.

DK There were some revolutionary protests in Germany in 1848 and also in Frankfurt the first elected parliament for all Germany convened and generated a Constitution. Possibly not the unified Germany that we know today but perhaps the beginning of it? Thank you for the information about the book by Nora Krug.

Hope everything is working ok in your van RedKite, our two nights away recently proved to be a bit of a challenge without a working water pump! All fixed at home afterwards.
Hope Moulesy's holiday has been good, it looks like it is!
Hope things warm up in the north for your trip Nellie, it's certainly better here today with the sun shining. Must get the seed packets out and sort which to grow first.
Well that's three "hopes" in a row...

Enjoy the Lakes Corners!

That looks nice Corners, could you share a link please?
Love the Man Motorhome Nellie. I bet that didn’t get stuck in the snow😁 We usually see one or two at the Jeep events, always envious.

Nellie - That’s a nice MH I think we saw that at Strathclyde Park CC last year either that one or one very similar.
Corners - Looks nice in the Lakes we are down that way for Easter this year at a CL we like. I see on Facebook that one of our favourite pubs in Keswick has new management (The Oddfellows) as a bit of market research for us could you find out please I’m sure it won’t be too much of a hardship for you to test the ale and report back haha

I love her drawings and etchings Brue.

Stopped off for some LPG on the way home and was served by a Polish lady. Her BIL is in the police and he and his colleagues are on 24 hour standby for transferring to the border. Worrying times.

I have just completed my Ride for Ukraine. Company who run the online cycling network (based in Czech Republic) are donating money for each rider who completes the Kyiv Ride. Hundreds taking part in my hour, thousands taking part today. 🇺🇦 🇺🇦🇺🇦

Nellie, as Redkite says that little van could ( ?? should ?? ) have been a replacement for the Bambi that I got rid of a few years ago in order to boost my rough terrain handling. It would also help my navigation of the NC500 ( snarl, growl, snap, snap, snap
) as well as showing off up there on Bealach na Ba high road
CY-- my Saturday paper has a photo of an 80 - year old Ukrainian turning up to claim his official side arm & ammo -- now that is truly scaring !!

A clear, bright day, but a bitterly cold wind today for our walk up Worcestershire Beacon today and lots of folk out with the same idea! We walked over the Beacon to North Hill which, surprisingly, marks the northern end of the escarpment and circled back round to the village of Upper Wyche. Another lovely day's walking and it's an area we'll certainly come back to.
Bakers - the hotel is called Colwall Park Hotel, very comfortable and all the staff are incredibly dog friendly. 15 dogs staying here this weekend (non dog owners are also allowed
) and all getting on with each other, no snarling or gnashing of teeth!
We booked through a company called "Pet's Pyjamas" and got a deal even better than booking direct with the hotel itself.7 -
It appeared very busy last night when we walked by but I'll force myself to do an interior viewing later this week.
Went to Ambleside today and cold but with intervals.

Another set of great photos Moulesy and the weather good although cold, got OH to look through our old photos and managed to find one of me at about the same place as yours taken early 1997 and photo taken by Nigel Kennedy the famous Violinist after he had made a fuss of Ben, it was a break for me as I was helping my mum recover from surgery and after the loss of my stepfather a few weeks before so I do not look my best, enjoy the rest of your break.
Enjoy your cottage in the Lake District Cornersteady.
Van already for us to use tonight a different view in the morning whilst having a cup of tea in bed and the heating is on as going chilly here.

A lovely day of sunshine again so we took a trip to Easton Walled Gardens to see the snowdrops. Such a lovely sight. Also some acconites, helebores and some pretty very small irises. Of course a found a few plants to buy😁.
6 -
Great photos RedKite and Millie! A nice memory for you RK. The snowdrops have been lovely this year Millie, I was just looking at some in a local sale at Avon Bulbs, even with a discount of 30% £30 a bulb is a bit like Tulip Mania, must admit there are some attractive variations.

Another lovely day, local farmers market this morning, then a bit of baking, OH made ginger biscuits and my contribution was cheese & marmite sausage rolls.
Did a local circular walk this afternoon, called at the pub for a pint on the way back. Watched some of the rugby this afternoon.
Lovely pictures, hope all those away have a great time.

Lovely snowdrops Millie.

That's our intended visit on Monday next week!
We're off in the caravan tomorrow. We're stopping at Grantham for a couple of nights so will be driving down to Easton specifically to see the Snowdrops etc.See what a lucky escape you had!

WN. Just a note of warning - Easton Walled Gardens are open Wednesdays to Sundays. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. I wonder whether we would have recognised each other if we had crossed paths 😅

Goodness, I didn't spend as much as that 😲. Just a few of the pretty little irises.

Lovely photos, M and RK. Have sat there a few times ourselves having walked, us and the dog(s), and cycled, me alone, up there.
Grand photos of the snowdrops, guess they'll all be out at Walsingham Abbey too.
It was a rather dull chilly day up here, but not very windy until this evening. Walked up past Aira Force to to the High Cascade before lunch, and along the low level path to Glencoyne past The Long View inthe afternoon. The N/T carpark was nearly full but the footpaths weren't that busy.

Nellie - That’s a nice MH I think we saw that at Strathclyde Park CC last year either that one or one very similar.
Francis, now that is the sort of vehicle to to the NC500 in, others would certainly get out of ones way but I wouldn't like to pay for the fuel needed.
Well done, tda, on your ride.
Enjoy your trip, WN. Take care.

Thanks to the forewarning from Millie we decided to visit Easton Walled Garden after arriving on site and setting up.
There's no point putting any photos on as they'll be the same as Millie's. We enjoyed winding down from the car drive across country, which was as uneventful as one could possibly hope for. Car and C'van not even dirty. Won't last long though. Just here for the 2 nights then we're off to do some birdwatching along the Ouse for a couple of days.
Nice photos Nellie.

We took advantage of another perfect weather day to do a short walk up Jubilee and Perseverance Hills before returning home today with one last view of Worcestershire Beacon.
The weekend couldn't have gone better, the dogs behaved themselves (and so did the humans) but I fear Mrs M will have developed a taste for being waited on rather than self catering in future!

We decided to make the most of the lovely weather by having a day out at RSPB Middleton Lakes. Passed the queues at the NEC junction for the last day of the caravan & motrhome show, glad we weren't heading there.

Did plenty of walking and some bird watching, apparently there had been some sightings of a lesser spotted woodpecker, and a few were waiting patiently in case it returned. Had a picnic at lunchtime and a shorter walk in the afternoon. Came home the scenic route avoiding the motorways.
Apparently youngest son had a nappy changing lesson with his new niece, we were sent the photo to prove it!
Hope it hasn't put him off having children of his own!!! Lovely pictures M and NTH.
Hope you have a good break Wherenext.
2 -
Thanks Helen. We'll try our best.😂
Not many Lesser SW around. I know of only one area within 20 miles of home where I could try and see one.
Moulesy, I thought Mrs.M was already partaking of the "waiting on" since you retired. It's a grand spot that Malvern Hills. Lucky people.☺️

Good to hear that your trip down was uneventful, WN. Enjoy your time away.
Another grand photo, M. Pleased to read that one and all behaved themselves and obviously had a very pleasant trip.
Pleased to hear that you had a good day out, Helen, and that your son is learning the trick of fatherhood for when it is his turn.
Another fine day but with a chilly wind still, and to avoid the crowds that we knew to be around the Keswick area, we went for a walk up the Mosedale valley past Grainsgill Bridge, along the track towards Skiddaw House. There was still a bit of snow on the high tops but none lower down.

Situation report in the Oddfellows, got confused yesterday and the pub I thought was the Oddfellows wasn't. It's actually closed and from the back there appears to be building work going on. I'll try and ask at the tourist information centre as to what's going on.
Gloriously sunny day today but still cold.
