What are you all up to

Thanks Brue... hope your ankle is getting better too. Exbridge is a lovely site. Serviced pitch is huge, with quite a large grass bit to use behind the caravan. Around here, roads are a bit narrow for me.. and even google maps took us up some weird and wonderful roads (with grass growing in the middle) on the way to Stowford Meadows Caravan Centre yesterday.
We had rain overnight, but the sun has come out for the moment and are able to eat breakfast outside.
Happy birthday RedKite. Have a good day.

No, sorry CY, I forgot to get the wifi password, so haven’t been posting. We are a mile and a half from Moreton in Marsh, Cotswolds. CL is very new, but lovely. We booked it as no EHU, but on arrival found that hook ups are available if you ask, for a couple of extra pound per night. With our dodgy (gas ignition problem) fridge, we went for it. Safe hook ups, we carry a three pin extension, so we are plugged into a purpose protected outdoor plug. It’s called Pebbly Barn Farm. It’s a new home for the owners Racehorses, so gorgeous grass paddocks, landscaped plantings, acres of space. Not a pitch peg anywhere😂 Just us and one other outfit, deer and cossetted equines! We have no fears of getting stuck, even though on grass. Racing folks know about grass management, and it’s super solid underwheel. There is a huge hardstanding apron nearby anyway. I will be doing a full review once we have finished our stay. Already sorting out dates for later in year. Quick photo, if you look closely you can see our neighbours🤣 If we had gone no hook up, we could have had around two acres to ourselves, but half an acre is ok😂 We passed M-in-M Club Site with a very smug glance yesterday, rammed solid.

Another view of CL. The house isn’t part of the CL, owner has yet to build his, horses came first!

- The. CL looks really nice TDA enjoy
David - I hope you get everything sorted out on the and enjoy your break
Been another relaxing few days here not done too much took a wander around Glastonbury on Saturday lovely place and you see some interesting sights hippies witches even a guy walking around in full highland dress a wonderful place with a good atmosphere. Spent Sunday afternoon in Weston Super Mare which was busy but everyone was enjoying themselves we had a pint at the bar at the end of the pier had a nice view out to sea. In to our final week here so just relaxing site is very busy the band system at the toilets has been removed now making things easier no more queuing outside. Hope you get out of isolation as planned Brue sorry you missed your break0 -
Commiserations on the ankle Brue, it’s one of my regular mishaps a twisted ankle. We like Glastonbury Francis, not ordinary by any means.
Unexpectedly dry here this morning, although clouds are building. Snowshill Manor, primarily gardens for us today. Might do inside if it isn’t busy. Had a nice bike ride last night, although diverted due to work on a railway bridge.
Bithday greetings to the Redkites (we saw two wheeling around yesterday😁), and I hope your hose got sorted DSB👍

Both of us only managed to get just over an hour tackling the Berberis this morning before the thunderstorms arrived with a huge deluge. Had to go into town to pick MiL from Hairdressers and the roads couldn't cope with the amount falling but seem to be a lot better just now after a visit to Tesco for C&C.
The Berberis is looking mighty sorry for itself. Be a bit like MiL only getting half a haircut. We're taking the Tammy route with the Berberis, i.e. giving it some welly. It might be coming out anyway if Mrs WN gets her way. (She usually does😁)
Happy Birthday RKx2. Helpful for both parties as no chance of forgetting, although Brue's tale of a forgetful 50th.Wedding Anniversary tickled my funny bone.
Happy Golden wedding as well, whilst I remember, Heddlo.
Off soon to give blood. they don't normally do it in the afternoon so I'm hoping I heard right when they gave me the appointment.

TDA I expect the lavender farm near Snowshill will be lovely just now, I remember you mentioned the CL previously, it sounds good!
I have got my foot strapped up, this time my ankle was OK but I've wrenched the bit between my ankle and toes, so I'm using my heel to hobble around. I now have a hip x ray booked on Friday so will feel a bit stupid going in with this..maybe they could X ray both?!
Talking to a friend on the phone today who kept thoroughbreds and the amount of time he spent checking the fields for rabbit holes (a farmer's son) just wish I'd spotted this one in time.Glad you had a good time in Glastonbury Francis, it's such a mix but still a nice place to visit.
WN that Berberis will spring back and get you!

"Mr & Mrs Dopey Pigeon nesting in a precarious position"
yes under our solar panels, noticed nest before we went away in June, a couple of chicks inside so could not destroy, when we returned chicks had flown the nest i destroyed the nest, pigeons are homeing birds so 1 nest quickly becomes 2 etc and the chicks stay around.
Noticed last week start of new nest under panels so quickly removed. Pigeons make very poor nests mainly just of twigs laid on top of one another so if you catch them early they are easily destroyed, but I think it is illegal to destroy the nest if eggs/chicks are present.
going to have to put some of that fence security stuff around the edges of the panels to keep them out.
lots of rain this morning and a good bit cooler, but sun has returned and looking much better now, so going to get on my bike and maybe take a dip

Just stopped 'deluging' here in South Cheshire, so I've occupied a satisfying five minutes scampering round checking doors and windows are nicely closed, but the racket the rain made bouncing off my alloy ladders was horrendous ! Now I will have to check the drains are clear of moss once again !
Do hope that you all are feeling the benefit of the cooler feeling post cloud bursts, even those of us with strapped up limbs, joints and wallets
P.S. remember to get off your bike when you have that dip, Rufs

Thanks TDA. Looks a peaceful spot.

Rufs a neighbour has had the same problem with jackdaws, nature taking over....he has had to have mesh put round the edges of the panels. This required a skilled roofer and a head for heights! We don't mind "our" pigeons they are certainly not populating the area due to poor housebuilding techniques and local magpies.

Wow I've just had a result new lock for shed door arrived, almost identical to our existing. Got out screwdriver to remove existing and replace, when struck with ping moment, not not that one 😂. Tried the new key in existing lock and it works fine 🙂. This lock came with 2 keys so put one in existing lock and packaged up the other with new lock and screws and put safely in the key tin. I know it's not a good lock, nothing worth having in the shed anyway it's the only means of fastening the door.
Funny day here odd spots of rain but came to nothing. Had a lazy day doing the bare minimum. OH at the dentist, got antibiotics today, very swollen mouth since Thursday, impressions and a bridge being made for next visit, tooth and neighbouring one too far gone, must have been sudden as we go every 3 months. He's glad he didn't accept the offer of extraction when he saw another dentist in the practice as he didn't want gap in the front more to the point neither did I 😉. Just sitting out with a cuppa before thinking about dinner.
Takethedogalong looks like a beautiful site, in an area we like a lot, enjoy.
Wherenext do you look you've had a scrap with a cat? Yes a good haircut will soon have the berberis shooting up stringer and more shapely.

We are still waiting for the promised rain to arrive here. Yesterday was supposed to be a 70% chance of rain, today 40%, but nothing.
We had our garden bins emptied today, so went down to DD to bring their excess hedge clippings and grass cuttings here for next week, they had filled 2 bins and had lots left over.
Callum has had his hair cut today, much better short in this weather, though Mummy does like it a bit longer.
On Sunday we are taking our caravan to a site near Kirkcudbright for DD and family to use for a short break......6 nights. They do not have the car or the licences to tow it themselves. Hope they get some decent weather.
They will need a crash course in how everything works!

We are still waiting for the rain here to Kj.
Forecast said 11am, then changed to 3pm, then to 5 and 7 now 9pm. No sign of it or the thunderstorms we are supposed to get. We are on an Amber weather warning for the next 12 hours.
OH been busy making 2 new wooden gates for someone in the village, been out at his shed all day now sat moaning he aches.
I've had a funny old day, housework, ironing, a bit of pottering in the garden, some admin and a few phone calls. Had to phone my new bank as I 'switched' my M&S account but it hasn't gone through. All sorted now. Dental appointments made for Nov.
Was looking to go for a bike ride this afternoon, silly me believed the weather forecast so put it off.
Och! brue hope it feel better soon.
Happy birthdays to the RedkitesH
Heddlo, hope the golden wedding celebration goes well.
Pigeons and solar panels are a nightmare, my sister and BIL had to have meshing put round there's due to pigeons, the guy doing it said he does a lot of them. He said they can cause all sorts of problems even causing the panels to stop working. Thankfully we have avoid that problem so far.

We called into the Lavender Farm Brue. Fields were looking gorgeous, I only wanted a couple of new plants, but they didn’t have a single plant for sale☹️ I am not over fond of lavender scented cosmetics and creams, don’t mind using sprigs for scenting drawers. So we didn’t stay, went on to Snowshill. Nice visit, didn’t bother with inside house, just did gardens. Managed to dodge rain showers. Had a walk around Chipping Camden later as well. Nice buildings, very interesting. Might to Chedworth Roman Villa tomorrow, save Hidcote for Thursday, as weather looks a bit better. OH seems to be enjoying gardens, I thought he might get a bit fed up after a couple, but no, he is up for it. Bourton House Gardens look nice, might be another one to do this trip. Then there is Sezincote🤔Decisions, decisions😁

Your grandson sounds wonderful bakers2. Probably a future farmer! I hope the baptism goes well and that the godparents are doing their upper body training. I hope your house move goes ahead soon.
Brue so sorry to hear about your foot. Have you tried putting an ice pack on it? I hope it improves soon.
Happy birthdays to the Redkites. We have quite a few of your namesakes round here.
KjNn congratulations to your daughter on her promotion. I hope they enjoy their time away in your caravan.
Odd weather here. After a cloudy rather chilly day on Sunday yesterday was another warm sunny day. Today has been warm and humid. It started to rain just after lunch but didnt amount to much. Then later we had a lot of thunder but not a lot of rain. We still have a yellow weather warning for the next 12 hours so we shall see what happens overnight.

Many thanks for all the birthday wishes, there is some blue sky about but had rain last night so a very much fresher morning, now got a dress on as usually I do not do dresses more of a crop trousers and blouse/tee shirt lady still must make an effort, we have had Redkites flying around here at present.

I've wrenched the bit between my ankle and toes !
That's a regular injury for footy players, Brue -- Metatarsals damaged
!!you'll have to hire a powered wheel chair and a long walking stick to point out the items your talking about, like places to be dusted, preferred sausages / cauliflowers etc when shopping -- like Her Ladyship from the Big House

Parking for a Moho is a bit of a squeeze at Chedworth Roman Villa, TDA. When we went a year or two back, I just manage to wedge in to the last viable space.

Thanks CY, we have been a couple of times, so if it’s busy we might just move on. We dropped on yesterday at Snowshill, NT had someone on parking, he took us gleefully into a special “campervan parking area” so we had a huge area all to ourselves😁
Its raining here this morning, so as the pooch has gone back to bed (having blagged a biscuit) we are having a lazy morning.

We must have had some rail overnight, did not hear it, as the deck out back was wet when we surfaced this morning.
I am working on making a safe mounting for the new microwave in the van, taking longer than I had hoped. OH is waiting to get in the van to do some cleaning before we start putting stuff back in.
DD rang to ask how much food she would be able to fit in the freezer area, so she must be getting things ready. They will bring up clothes etc on Friday, and food on Saturday.
Would have been better if we could have taken the van to them to pack, but they have quite a narrow gate and lots of cars parked opposite and around their entrance. Coupled with it being a fairly busy road at times ( a shortcut to elsewhere) , so not good to be trying to manoeuvre an 8m twin axle by mover, OH said they must bring their stuff up here. Only 4 miles to drive, so quite easy, they just need to be organised!
Very dull today, and much cooler.
We stopped in at Tesco yesterday to buy some extra trousers for Callum, poor boy did not have enough pairs for Mummy to pack for a week this far ahead! Hope he likes them, there was not much choice.

Quite windy here so far today ,I have wound in the Omnistore as it was really banging with the wind , had heavy shower last night and rain again this morning
OHs buggy now quite poorly, took it to see if any one could have a look at it when in Scarborough ,I think both places the staff were French as we got the Gallic shoulder shrug after a quick look , I think it was more of a case of you need a replacement?
Not going down that route yet ,when this far from home, neither place could look at it for a couple of weeks? but we could hire one if we wanted ,
May have to head south instead of staying up here, have contacted OHs Son who got it and he says he got it "cheap off ebay"
OH says maybe let's look at what we can and cannot do before going home?
As others have posted on here, we do not have a blue badge so the park almost anywhere scenario is out and we also would have Rosa with us

Sorry to hear that JVB, Hope you can retrieve a bit more of your holiday before you head south. You'll definitely need a reliable buggy in future so hope you can find something suitable nearer to home.
Sunny here after showers, some help in the garden this morning and OH is having his first trip out after isolation. If I can get a shoe on my bad foot I will be glad to get out too.
