Can't see it from the CL at the moment, but hopefully it will be visible when Flyte and,I go for our last walk shortly.
It has been another hot day so didn't bother heading out in the car. A walk for us all this morning down to the middle reservoir, another longer one for me alone this afternoon and a third this evening in the cool. Have heard thunder over to the West this afternoon but no rain fell on the site, much to OH's chagrin as she was hoping to stand out in it to cool off.
Well done to you both for getting the whole of the Malvern range done in this heat, WN.

Been a busy few couple of days for us down in Somerset I’ve been up and away out on the bike at 7am today and yesterday in to Weston Super Mare both days been on the prom before 8 both mornings lovey at that time of day and not too busy had to go out that early to avoid the heat. Weather has been excellent we went to Minehead a drive on Tuesday such a nice place we had never been before but enjoyed it had a nice meal at the Hairy Dog pub and a good walk along the shore front one place we hope to return to. Yesterday we went to the helicopter museum near Weston which was very interesting sister and family joined us for that and enjoyed it too. Today we took a trip in to Bristol not our favourite place to be honest we have been a few times over the years and have never really liked the place so we didn’t stay long and instead headed to Chepstow for a walk around which SWMBO enjoyed as they had plenty of charity shops. Saw a caravan on the M5 on the way back down here honestly thought it was going to roll over he was in the outside lane and we were doing 65 in the middle lane he shot past us and was snaking badly he must have rescued it at the last minute but was snaking all over the road far too fast we take great care to match our van and car and ensure we are loaded correctly (I’m sure most of us on here do) I wish others would do the same and slow down we could have witnessed a nasty accident today. Anyway not sure what we are doing tomorrow May have a relaxing day after a couple of days of driving.
WN - Glad you have had a nice time away.
Nellie - Glad you got away too enjoyJV - We love West Ayton one of our favourite places the Forge Valley Inn at the bottom of the hill is a nice pub and the meals are decent too

Managed to fit the jockey wheel easily, and the new bulb, examined the gas hose and could see the washer at one end was mangled, so that could be the problem.
It is a stainless steel hose on a Gaslow system, has a 20 year life, a new one is about £30, so I was annoyed that they had just removed the hose and flung it in the bin, without saying exactly what the problem was, then "replumbed" the system, badly, using the remaining hoses.I had expected them to fit a rubber replacement. Fortunately we looked at it before we left and noticed no new hose, so the service manager retrieved the old one so I could obtain the correct size. On checking it at home, I could see the mangled washer, so if that is the problem then they were throwing out a good hose that just needed a new washer. I will fit one and test it tomorrow.
The charger problem they reported is a bit of mystery, I have measured and the battery is receiving a good charge according to my meter, while they said the charger was only giving 11.7 volts. According to the display in the van, the battery is fully charged, and the mover worked fine on arrival home.
Does anyone know if the charger must be disconnected from the battery to measure the voltage being produced? If I disconnect it, the alarm will be triggered, so do not want to do that unnecessarily!

Glorious morning here 19c at 0830 instead of 25c at 0630. Nice breeze too. Just sitting enjoying an alfresco dog breakfast, all the dried food that she refuses to eat from her bowl is used from the opened packets as treats 😉 its amazing how much nicer it tastes out as a picnic
. We usually feed the hedgehog dried kitten food which dog will also nibble at if its not in her bowl. Classic this morning usual variety not available so substituted with same brand puppy food, popped some in her bowl, nose turned up. Toppedup hedgehog food bowl put a few bits on the patio, as usual if she's with me, eaten with relish. Contrary or what? 🤣
Forecast heavy rain and storms for weekend, that's cos we've arranged a halfway picnic with son a family. Pow wow Saturday to decide if not we can go to them and we'll have an indoor picnic. Come to us I say - why I ask myself means cooking and prep! Oh too much stuff to bring pram etc - anyone think they are the first and don't have big cars, 🙄.

Also enjoying a fresh cool breeze here today B2, so nice after the heat. Will miss the warm weather if it vanishes but it has been a bit too hot this week. Hope you see the family one way or another.
Glad to hear WN spotted the moon! We looked at the space station again last night as it's so clear and well lit up, no satellites this time.
Francis, sounds like you are all enjoying your holiday! OH doesn't like Bristol either but I always enjoy visits there, especially the harbourside. If you like Minehead you'd enjoy the site there as it's just a nice stroll into the town and sea front (and the steam train.)
Well here we are again, at home, no inclination to do anything as no-one will be here and we're not going anywhere!
Don't know where you are Nellie but hope your trip is going well, nice to hear Flyte is doing well. I was looking up a place near Doncaster yesterday as daughter had sent art work to a gallery in that area.
Hope you get your after services work sorted Kj.

Dog food Bakers😂 Anything stolen, found, rancid, disgusting, is always far more delicious than that expensive, carefully selected, wonderfully fresh presented stuff that is offered in your bowl! Our old lad’s favourite is month old crab found on the beach. That vet bill will linger in the memory, as will the half hourly walks through the night!😱 But we still ❤️ them😂
Thankfully a much cooler night last night. Packing here, bike ride, bit of gardening, might see what’s happening at Olympics. Wonder if they will have a Covid cases chart, along with a medal chart🤔

Had a busy day today - dog walk on the beach before the grockles arrived - en masse. Then took Meg off to the 'beauty parlour' for her much-needed, 6-weekly clip and calling in at the butchers, next door (Which wit thought of putting a dog groomers next door to the butchers
) Then to the Doctors for a blood test before I have to go into hospital in just over a week's time. That was chaotic - some inconsiderate so and so, had turned up, unannounced at the surgery with Covid symptoms resulting in the Waiting Room being closed for a deep clean and as a consequence we were all waiting in the car park and having to go in via the back door! What should have been a five minute appointment took three quarters of an hour. Then came back and got stuck into cleaning the van inside after two weeks away - interspersed with collecting Meg from the groomers. Done enough for today - final bit of polishing and dusting can wait until tomorrow!0 -
A few hold-ups on the way home today, one on the junction of the M5 and M6 which to be fair wasn't too long and roadworks on the Oswestry to Wrexham road.
Home just after lunchtime. Not much to wash as Mrs WN did a rolling wash every day and knew it would be dry by evening! Must admit we did enjoy the time away even though we didn't do as much as we would have liked to.
Had to mix with the great unwashed in Tesco as we needed some food. I couldn't believe my eyes in the fruit and veg section at the bareness of the shelves and the few rotting cabbages on view. It's disgraceful. There were far better stocked shops in Malvern but much smaller ones, like the Co-Op. Looks like I'll be visiting our local fruit farm/supplier rather than rely on Tesco.
Hope everyone away is keeping safe. Watch out for those weather warnings.

Brue, we are at Old Brampton, just outside Chesterfield. The moon was an orange ball when we went for our last walk, but too early to see the Space Station. Was hoping to see if tonight around 10:05 but it has been cloudy all day. Much cooler too with a little drizzle over night, just enough to dampen the grass.
Glad to hear that you got home ok, WN, even if it took longer than anticipated.
Some people just don't think about the trouble they might cause if they suspect they have Covid, RandR. Shame about your delay, but good to read that the surgery up to speed with the deep clean. Better safe than sorry.
Good to hear that you are having a fine time down in Somerset, Francis. We're booked to be down that way in September.

Good to read about those out and about at the moment. Weather isn't looking to wonderful for Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th across the South, but fingers crossed it won't be too bad for us packing up wet from Chippenham and moving to Exbridge Lakeside CAMC on Sunday. At least our 'housesitters' (AKA our Son, daughter in law and family) will be warm and dry....) and it looks as if they might get a couple of days off from watering the plants in the garden....

You did well with the chair and dog JVB. Hope you can get the buggy fixed.
We've had heavy rain overnight and it's very humid this morning.
Hope people haven't been panic buying WN, sounds a bit as though they have, when you mentioned the co-op I've heard they have empty shelves in some places too. Looks like an unpredictable Waitrose delivery for us on Monday. OH insisted on growing lots of veg over the last year so we're ok on the fresh supplies front.

Thanks Brue there is a mobility place in Scarborough will give them a visit,
Went shopping at lidl in Pickering yesterday ,many empty shelves, girl on checkout said some panic buying but mostly lack of staff at warehouses and deliveries

Looks like the problem will build up till the extra test centres are up and running.
Hope all those off on holiday this weekend have a safe journey, at least delays won't be in the the blazing sun. A million + visitors expected down our way!

Brue
All might not be lost. We had our regular Thursday delivery from Waitrose and only had one substitution and even that was the same thing but a slightly different flavour so figures crossed!

Grey clouds gone and the sun is out, nice and warm outside where OH has been power washing the back decking.
I've been inside doing housework, first I've done this week. Garden is now tidy, though still a few things to move around, which will have to wait until its a bit cooler.
Carpets in lounge and dining room had a good shampoo as did the rug in the kitchen. Next is the carpets out of the MH & caravan, then finish off with the hallway one.
Might just squeeze in a cycle ride later on.
Have a good weekend folks.🙂🙂

Trying to touch up some minor scratches on the Moho. Phoned the Carthago dealers the other day to discover that the manufacturers don't supply touch-up paint. Spent about half an hour scouring the carousel at the car accessory shop to find the nearest colour but still not quite right. Currently mixing my own from Ford, Peugeot, Nissan and Mercedes to try and get a proper match.

CY, you will have to try that T.V. Programme " The Repair Shop " the folk on there are brilliant at matching & retouching damaged items
. Also they appear to have oodles of space for the 'van ( and tenants
) while its being done
P.S. Never seen even coppers change hands either

Tammygirl could I ask how long it takes for the carpets to dry after shampooing please? We have been considering a carpet shampoo machine but can’t decide on one, as not sure how damp the carpets will be afterwards. We are puppysitting for a week soon, we may need one!! 🥴

Another cool night so got a good sleep and some up later than normal for the second morning g on the trot. It was cloudy with a gentle breeze blowing so ideal for walking. We did a circuit of White Edge, down to The Grouse, and back along Froggatt and part of Curber Edges, returning to the car across the moor, a decent 8+ mls. The sun did come out for a short while but thankfully it was while we were in the shade of trees. All packed up and ready for our move torrow over to Gainsborough.

We have just had an evening OUT! We have been to a wonderful (socially distanced) concert at the Cathedral. Our first evening out since February 2020. It was so good to hear live music again after so long.
2 -
We watched the end of it after we got home ABM. Wonderful music but it looked a bit damp🌧☔!

Not that long, maybe an hour on a warm day, or if you have heating on.
The machine I have sucks up the water so carpets aren't to wet. I would not be without one nowadays. Although I've always had one in one form or another, 20 years in army quarters they come in very handy.
Carpets all came up a dream, its amazing how dirty the water is when you empty it.
A tip when puppy sitting, if it has an accident (pee) you can use the machine to first suck up the pee then shampoo. It saves spreading the pee over a greater area.

Not a very good day yesterday (my fault )put oven on then OH who was sitting outside needed loo , she suggested we walk to the ladies,(just opposite c/van) )and I could wait outside , all fine untill checked cooker and I had forgotten to keep it away from interior surfaces ,the heat has damaged the interior wall by melting panelling

Now thinking how to cover damage,

They say things happen in threes ? So one to go
