Hi Nellie. Hope Flyte's leg standing up to walks ok.

Glad you enjoyed your day out with Ttdas' and Dog.laughing

We decided to do something different today and are leaving the last bit of the Malvern until tomorrow. Second photo is our route for tomorrow. First one is from yesterday looking southwards from Jubilee Hill. The others are from today. First 2 are of Powick Bridge. I'm an old Bridge nut, the older the better and this one was a beauty. Loads of history tied up with it as well as it was the first place to witness a skirmish between the Royalists and the Parliamentarians in the civil war back in 1642. One of the photos shows the old mill that has now been converted to living accommodation but a watermill has stood on the River Teme at this spot since the 1080s.

Obviously the whole area has further history in the civil war as Worcester was the last battle and so we trooped along (pun intendedlaughing) some of the area and then into Worcester itself via riverside paths.

The city has put on a cheerful aspect with loads of brightly coloured elephants dotted around various points, supporting a local hospice, and the kids were enjoying finding them all. This one was on the other bank of the Severn opposite the Cathedral. All of them were brightly attired but different.

We enjoyed the morning and were back at the caravan by 1.30pm.

we have been billy no mates today, quite unbelievably, but wonderfully quiet.

    Hope everyone well.

Yes, a very nice chance to hello to the Nellie’s😁 Flyte and I compared bruises/poorly legs, the MH provided us with a nice picnic lunch, but boy was it hot! Gardens at Renishaw are always lovely, I hadn’t realised how long it had been since we last visited. Found a memorial sculpture commemorating the Kings Cross Fire, and the work of the police on that terrible day. Hadn’t seen this before. The herbaceous borders are simply stunning, full of colour, including this very striking rose (a must have for me😁). At the centre of the garden was a seriously tempting swimming pond. I don’t recall it being chlorinated the last time we visited, but most folks around were just itching to dive into it! All in all, a very very nice day😁

Nice to hear of a meet up.

Forgot to mention as the hot weather has produced clear skies the views of the international space station going over are good. Sometime after 10pm tonight if you want to look it up. 🌛

Great photos WN gosh memories or what for us both, OH did his apprenticeship at what was Royal Radar Establishment now called Qinetiq and if you are in Great Malvern the very long building on the Wells road used to be a very expensive clothes departmental shop where I used to work late sixties to early seventies, Have been over the old powick bridge and powick used to be spelt poywck a very long time ago, hope you enjoy the rest of your break.

Been very hot here again today but started off with grey fog and much cooler but warmer later about 34C and tomorrow could be 37/38C a bit to hot so no work outside except for first thing in the morning. Did see a GB small camper whilst out today and 2 other cars but a lot of french now on holiday saw a very new Knaus caravan go pass us probably going south.

    Thanks RK.

We've only been meaning to climb the Hills since the mid 1990s but have been thwarted on a couple of occasions. Once in mid 90s when our pitch at club site was cancelled one Easter due to heavy rain and again a few years ago when we spent 2 days on a local CL but the weather was extremely poor again. Still, the wait has been worth it. Well, it has up to now but I might change my mind after tomorrow.laughing

The thermometer in the caravan touched 40º this afternoon. Just about manageable now at 22.

I've just looked and the temp gauge in the van reads 26, and 21 in the car, but it's a good bit cooler outside. It has started to get dark already, so may see the space station when I take Flyte out for his last walk shortly, that is if I can prize him from his favourite cool spot, right under the caravan.

WN, Flyte's leg seem to be holding up fine. With the rate of growth of his leg hair we won't be able to see his scar at all soon.

Had a lovely day met up with a very aged couple of ladies we first met on a cc site many years ago they moved to Cleethorpes about five years ago took them for a meal at a local to here pub. which we have used on previous visits   they had not been anywhere apart from their local Spar shop since the first lockdown one is 83 the other is 91 they even ventured onto one of the local beaches which we know is not a touristy spot

Weather was not as hot as Inland with breeze off the North Sea

Moving on to North York's today for 10days hope to get to get to Bempton Cliffs tomorrow before it seems weather is going to deteriate

We're plodding on in the heat, and managing the farm work slightly differently because of Covid. My son's family are still isolating and he never gets near my husband, so things that are usually done by two people take a bit longer. We're all taking regular tests (and OH and I have all been negative) and getting through gallons of sanitiser. And our farm worker is not coming until we're out of isolation.

At first I thought my husband and son were arguing - but no, it was just a normal conversation shouted across the yard. Our "Freedom Day" is Monday when we can walk across the yard and meet up a bit closer.

Life goes on as it always has, following the seasons year after year. This is our family in 1935, taking a break from haymaking.

We watched the ISS go over last night and then noticed further objects, I saw three, OH said there were four! Presume these were satellites but no information on them. The ISS is very bright in the clear skies, so is the moon but thankfully it's low down. I don't think I need a full moon shining through the night and this heat, will never get any sleep!

Goldie, I feel for you all, our release day will be later next week and I've had to cancel a dental appointment. Can't get another till November. frown

Brue, I've an app called Sky Walk on my ipad which has a real time night sky map. Point your device at the night sky and line up the map with the camera view and you can get detailed information on almost everything you can see in the sky.

I’m often awake between midnight and one, and lately I’ve been sitting on the edge of the bed looking out at the sky. (Curtains and windows wide open). Saturn (I think!) is very bright in the East (maybe ESE) just above trees on the hill opposite. I’ve resisted waking my husband to look at it!

I wonder if it was part of “Starlink” you saw Brue? We see them quite regular on clear nights, chugging along across the sky. Unnerving the first time we saw them, but now a regular sighting.

Best wishes to those having to self isolate. We had a few days of it last week due to a hospital appointment, but it soon passed. Harder where work is involved of course, and if it means missing appointments, holidays etc.... Hope all family members with Covid are ok as well.

Another scorching day here. Too hot to be out working, we are just going to take pooch for a shady woodland walk.

Yes star link satellites are a possibility, strange to see them so close together. Will probably look again as the reflected light is very good just now.

We're indoors today, it's too hot even in the shade! Reminds me of France minus the shutters! Hope RedKite is coping well with even higher temps.

Our room faces east too, we have lovely night sky views barring a few of our trees but I have to close the curtains, although high up we are at ground level and the milkman walks past with his headtorch around 1am!

Yes the clink of glass bottles and the rattling dairy lorry fills the air for anyone not sleeping at the moment.

Have to say all the deliveries are a life saver just now.

On Tuesday we came home from an 11 day trip away, mainly to the IOW. On the way home we came through Newton Purcell, on the A421, and noticed they had started to demolish the old railway bridge to make way for HS2. Good to see the project moving forward. It seems wherever we go locally we come across major rail projects. Nearer to home is the East/West Rail which will link Oxford to Cambridge via Milton Keynes and Bedford. The old railway viaduct over the West Coast Main Line at Bletchley has been demolished and is in the process of being rebuilt. Exciting times.

Out early  for the daily scuttlebutt & a bottle of cows juice, all went well but even early doors the mask seemed super warm, Brue. So like you I've got blinds drawn fans chunking away and regular c~o~o~l drinks, so  Brian will survive!  I hope all of you are keeping safe and well and, preferably, nice & cool  -- even the cyclists / walkers amongst you smilecool

Well while the rest of the country is basking in wall to wall sunshine and high temperatures we have about 20C and it's been overcast or foggy all day. Took a ride to the seaside and it was chilly enough to need a second layer.

All went well yesterday for MIL, have done 2 x lateral flow tests today both negative so hopefully all ok.

Gorgeous day once again 28 degs, spent afternoon on the beach, had to put up pop up sun tent for pooch and he slept for most of the while, beach house not good for beach swimming when tide is out as it goes out for miles, so have to move further east where the water is much deeper and not so far away.

Sea Temp now really quite cosy just need a bit of a breeze to stir the sea up a bit and clear away some of the seaweed, it is only on the shore line 1 mtr out and all good, but it starts to smell in the heat.

Our weather is now set fair into the weekend, fingers crossed, have adapted to the high temps now , however, have E.G daughter this coming weekend and somebody is going to have to sleep in the caravan yellyellyell, beer fridge is in there so may be me laughing

We had a short visit to DD today, en route to pick up the caravan after its service.  Spent most of the time there on the floor trying to clean out the condenser on their tumble drier, and then cleaning out the Dyson.  SIL apparently has no idea these things ever need to be  cleaned!!!

They still have the builders there, so too much dust to hang out washing, and just as well they didn't as the neighbours started burning something, presumably excess garden refuse.  Windows had to be hastily shut, not good in this heat!

After a quick lunch, once Callum came back from nursery, we headed off to get the van.   One or two things for me to fix.....new jockey wheel, one high level tail light, a leaking gas hose, and a report that our charger is apparently not working properly.

Off up early to finish off our traipse across the Malvern Hills. Up to its highest point today, Worcestershire Beacon followed by North Hill.

Rather hot by the time we had finished at noon. Home for lunch in a shady place then off to the fruit farm.

Off home tomorrow. Enjoyable trip but curtailed somewhat by the extreme heat. Nevertheless we did what we came for.

Sounds like the weather is breaking after tomorrow.

    Good luck to those isolating.

That's quite an achievement in this weather WN. Hope Mrs WN can have a lie in now?! I hope you partook of the waters (I always say that, I love the wells!)

KJ you are just too handy. wink

Rufs glad to hear the send off went well and lucky you to be near the sea. We'll have to make do with the garden hose!

Our village is very quiet, I think there must be quite a few isolating.

Think I'm going to order some more soft drinks, the milk man will have to stagger up with them. Funny how you suddenly want things when you can't go out and get them! undecided

She has garnered soooo many Brownie points this week Brue that I would be surprised to see her rising before coffee time next week.😂

Has someone stolen the Moon? We have been outside until late this week and enjoyed watching its transformation but it's normally visible by now.

Well done WN we have done both but different times I am more the walker than OH, around the back of the hills just below the Beacon there is a free spring and have watched folk bring aquarolls to fill up with spring water more memories.  Have a good trip back home and safely.

Just done a bit of watering as much cooler now. Off for a bit of shopping and meeting up with friends for coffee.

After 3 days of hard work in the garden (hedges now all clipped) we decided today would be a rest day.

Took the MH out for a day trip to St Andrews. Bikes on the back. BBQ chicken and salad in the fridge and off we went. Very cloudy but the promise was for it to clear after lunch. They were wrong it didn't, it was however warm enough so we still had a nice day out just different to the one we had planned. A walk on the beach rather than a few hours and no swimfrown although there were some very brave souls out in the water.

Went down a bit further to Crail to see if the wee hut had any crabs, we were lucky as they had not long cooked some so got a couple of nice fresh ones, one for us and one for big sister.

Arrived back to Perth at teatime in full sunshine, seems it didn't come out until nearly 3pm. Dropped crab of at sisters then home for an hour in sun on the back deck. Then prepared the crab and made crab sandwiches, they were  delicious, still a bit left for lunch tomorrow. All in all a very nice day off.

No clear skies for us this week its been overcast every night so far, same again tonight.

Cooler tonight so might get a good sleep after all the sea air and exercise.
