It’s well known that I can fall over anything ABM. OH says his stress levels double when out on a ride with me. His heart monitor is proof as well!😂😯

Ttda, Just imaging you doing an impression of your avatar only with a bike on top.😱 Glad you are none the worse although you probably have a bruise or two.
Had a good stretch of the legs this morning before the sun took hold. Received a follow up appointment for a CT Thorax scan. Did have one lasts year in August but wasn't exactly expecting them to be following up as they promised to.
Don't forget the sunscreen you lot out there enjoying yourselves.
Say a belated Happy Birthday to OH, Tammy.

We left Chapel Lane club site this morning after a great 6 days in the Midlands an area we have often passed through but not explored before. Visited Stratford and Warwick for the first time and went to Oxford again one of our favourite places. Left Chapel Lane just before 10 and arrived here in Somerset at half 12 the M5 was actually not too bad it was a bit busy around Bristol but apart from that it was flowing freely. Weather here in Somerset is lovely so we are now settled and the awning up. Sister and family have been on site here for a week so now met up with them now. Going to have a look at what we are doing now for the next couple of weeks hoping the weather stays like this.
Belated birthday wishes to OH TG
Hope everyone else has a nice weekend

"Don't forget the sunscreen you lot out there enjoying yourselves"
Put on double whacks before swimming, then decided to do 15k on my bike, then back in sea to cool off, just need to watch my head, not much hair so gets burnt quickly.
Beach quite busy today, lots of mum's and children down after school, but good to see. Popped into caravan to grab a beer from fridge, 40 degs
thats with roof and windows open, fridge working overtime. Fish and chips for dinner, got some vouchers for Fathers Day so would be rude not to use them
stay cool everyone
forecast is for 30+ degs tomorrow 2 -
Paid our last visit of the summer season to Abbotsbury sub Tropical gardens, where it felt extremely tropical, very busy too. In fact our hearts sank when we saw three big coaches in the car park...will now wait till visitor numbers drop. I went into the cafe and realised distancing was going out of the window, holiday times are well and truly here.
Sorry to hear about your fall TDA, Hope you're not too bruised and battered.
Hope your OH enjoyed his 70th TG! 🥂
Also hope your son's condition can be stabilised Robsail.
Francis and family, have a good time in sunny Somerset, we'll be off to Dorset after the weekend, more sunshine ahead!
The coast looked beautiful today but the traffic was building up, streams of vans heading to the seaside. Have a good weekend one and all. Our village is very quiet with the pub shut due to Covid and people who went to a local wedding affected too. Even the plumber is out of action....

A hot day here no doubt, set off just after 7 and just top and shorts straight away.
It's funny how things turn out, I couldn't go my usual way using the bus/cycles lanes through Gateshead as there was a broken down bus and that would have meant going into the heavy morning traffic so I decided to do a small detour round the side streets. And I found fantastic buildings that I never knew existed, love it when that happens. A busy beach at Tynemouth and down into Sunderland where another surprise, the flowers at the windmill just past Whitburn.
Back by 1pm and just out in the shade drinking a bottle of wine and reading. A grand day out!

Lovely photos brue. I love Abbotsbury Sub Tropical gardens.

Having posted on the 12th that I had completed my online driving licence renewal on the 11th I can now state that the new licence arrived through my letterbox yesterday. It's taken just 4 days for it to come, now that's what I call service!

Great photos brue it has been about 14 years since we have been, hopefully in September we will be away in the van for the first time since December 2019 and will be near a garden that I have wanted to visit for about 3 years and again quieter in September it is about 20 miles from Albi called Martel gardens so something to look forward to.
A bit warmer today and getting warmer over the next few days upto 34C by next Wednesday phew that will be to hot for us, hope to get out for a picnic on Sunday.

Glad you got through to your site in Somerset without too much trouble, Francis.
Hope that they can stabilise your son's condition, Robsail, and that you are soon able to get out in your van.
Sorry to hear about your fall tda, fingers crossed that you're not too bruised and battered, and that the bike's not damaged either.
TG, hope that your OH enjoyed his 70th even if it wasn't on the planned cruise.
Took Flyte to the vet's this morning and he had his stitches removed as the wound has healed well. Told to go walk him too far to start with but we can soon build up the distance, just avoid letting him get too excited and he's not to go swimming for a while. Now we can get away, so ready for the off on Sunday for a month, provided of course there are no restrictions reimposed.

OH says thanks to all for his birthday wishes, we had a good day and a nice meal out in the evening.
We moved today from east coast Dingwall to west coast nr Oban. What a change in the weather, no surprise we had rain around Fort William, is it ever anything else.
Settled onto our CL for a couple of nights then probably home on Sunday. Weather doesn't look great for our time here, it must be the only area of UK that's not basking in glorious sun. Nothing to rush home for so we will see.
Good to hear Flyte has a clean bill of health and that you can get away again.

Arrived home this afternoon around 16.30, a full half hour + later than expected due to a 6 mile queue on the M74 south of Glasgow, all down to roadworks and totally unnecessary lane changing!
House was sweltering, even though DD had been in past and turned on some fans, so once van was on the drive I just gathered up a few essentials to bring inside meantime, will do the rest tomorrow.
Appointments and things that have to be done are already mounting up.......
Tomorrow we are invited for dinner at DD's, and on Sunday I am going with her and the boys to some play centre she had booked before remembering that Daddy was going out with his pals. Afterwards they will come here for dinner. No idea what we will serve up as the fridge is bare!
Caravan has to be emptied to be taken for service on Tuesday, and before we go there OH has an appointment at 9am at the hospital re her cateract.
Wednesday she has the dentist, and she may also need a visit to our doc or the minor injuries centre as she has had a flare up of gout which the course of pills has not completely cured.
Caravan microwave has conked out, so a suitable replacement has to be picked up and fitted before DD and family are using the van in 2 weeks time, and I have a toilet at home to fix.
The cistern is leaking at the bottom, but difficult to access as it is "built in", DD discovered it on one of her plant watering visits. Bathroom floor was soaked, water leaking into downstairs bathroom below, ceiling stained, but all seems dried out now as DD was able to turn off water supply and empty cistern.Caravan insurance due to be renewed in 4 days time, so we need to consider what to do about that as premium is well up, and apparently there is a problem with our Tracker, so I will need to investigate that too.
Hope OH had a good birthday TG!

TG belated birthday wishes to your OH. I hope you enjoy the rest of your tour.
Nellie I am pleased to hear that Flyte is recovering and that you can set off on your next trip. Safe travels.
We arrived home yesterday afternoon from our week in Staithes. Despite google maps saying it would take 3 and a half hours it took us 5 hours. We did stop for a break for half and hour but the biggest hold up was at Newark. A ten mile tail back and 45 minutes added to our journey all because of traffic queuing to go up the slip road to Lincoln. However it took son and family 12 hours to get back to Strangford in N. Ireland! We had such a brilliant time though. It was so good to see them all again after 18 long months and after an 'iffy' start the weather improved so we were able to spend a lot of time on the beach or taking local walks. Our cottage was brilliant. Clean and very well appointed and equipped. We had 2 patios - one on the ground floor at the front and one on the top floor at the back so we could follow the sun.We went to Whitby one day but it was too crowded so we didn't stay long. We discovered that the pub opposite us did take-aways so OH borrowed a menu and we placed our order and they brought it across the road to us on plates wrapped in foil. I have never had a take-away delivered by waitress service before!
We arrived home to find that son and DIL had been round and cut our grass which was a great help and also when I checked our bank accounts last night I found that the refund from Aer Lingus for our cancelled flights was in our account. Now to tackle the washing and the garden. Luckily no flood damage despite the 90 minute deluge last week.

Pleased to hear you all enjoyed the holiday Millie. Now that our pub is closed I really miss their take aways! Just hope they can re-open soon. Message to collect prescription but Chemist closed again this morning when OH went to collect for me en route for his dental appointment, luckily I can manage for a few days but not good for some.
Very hot here, cut grass in field being turned, dust in the air. Combines out for the barley. Church bells ringing, nice to hear them.
Hope KJ settles back into household tasks!
Good to hear you can now go away Nellie.

But Whatever you do do, Folks, Keep Away From The Unhealthy Secretary, 'cos Sajid Javid has gone into Isolation having, I believe, tested Positive for C19
!!P.S. / Edit :-- are there any 'chilling ' masks available out there ?? Well I'm not supposed to scoff those lovely, tasty, cooling icecreams or lollypops
0 -
Should be up here, no need for chilling face masks or ice cream, don't think its been above 15c today. Clouds hanging round the hills, skies grey and a stiff breeze. More like autumn than summer. No complaints from me as we went out on the bikes and cycled round the loch 🙂 then OH watched Silverstone.
I've just been chilling, had a bit of sun for about half an hour.
Back home tomorrow where I dare say I'll find plenty of jobs to do so taking it easy while I can.
Kj, back into the thick of it I see, hope you had a good time with the little ones.

Guess today has been the hottest day here this summer, even with a gentle breeze. Took Flyte for a longer walk than we've been having and all seem fine, thankfully. He says thanks for the good wishes.
It will be a few days yet before he can literally be let off the leash, as we don't want to undo all the work the vet's have done, but we will slowly increase the length of his walks, provided of course that it isn't too hot.homeSafe trip home tomorrow, TG. Hope WN got to his site without too much of a hassle.
Glad to hear that you had a great time with the family at Staithes and are now back home ok, millie.

Last night at FM. popped home and cut grass today and picked up mail ,moving on to the flatlands of Lincs tomorrow, for a few days, will be meeting up with a couple of elderly ladies, coming to site for chinwag and lunch , before moving on to North Yorkshire hopefully to see some distant family from Coxwold

Brue, cool nights I appreciate but cool days in the middle of summer I can do without. We've got mizzle now.

Thanks Nellie, think we are going home via the Great Glen so should be a nice drive if the clouds lift.
Aren't some folk strange, one of the caravans a big TA the people are sat out in their awning having a meal and drink, nothing strange in that in summer but its raining windy and flipping cold out there, why not sit inside
nowt as queer as folk. 0 -
Just back in from a very warm dog walk. Our 2nd very warm evening. Thursday I needed long legs and arms before 1930. Going to be a hot and humid night I fear.
Dog is used to going out with OH by 1800 but far too hot on the pavements for paws and still is for OH so she got a bit fed up waiting tonight and into mischief. Always easy to tell when she's up to no good as her claws click differently as she trots across the floor with her bounty 😉🤣
Belated happy birthday to your OH tammygirl. My OH hits that one in November, wondering how to celebrate, might combine with a belated 40th wedding anniversary from 18 months ago that clashed with mum's funeral...... On the other hand we might all be confined to barracks again 😱 so not building ourselves up yet!
Nelliethehooker glad Flyte is on the mend build him up slowly.
Milliehull glad you're home safely and you had a great time with the family hard to settle back isn't it? Delighted to hear no I'll effects from the heavy downpour and bonus to find grass cut. Our garden is growing like its May at the moment.....
Robsail thinking of you and your family hopefully things will get on an even keel.again before long.
Hope I've not missed off anyone, it's not intentional

Well, that was a big but nice surprise. First day of school holidays, good weather forecast (sorry Tammy) and heading southwards, with most of the population, to our CL near the Malvern Hills. Bad day to be travelling?
Nope, one of the easiest 3 hour drives I've ever done. If we saw half a dozen lorries on the road it may be over counting, most of the roads were clear in front of me once I joined the A5 and A49. Decided to steer clear of the motorways and went a slightly longer way around. A bonus was having a lot of tree shade en route.
Set up and decided it was too hot to do anything so had lunch and about 4ish put up a canopy awning. Bought at the end of 2019 but not been up until today.
Everything seems fine with the site. We'll do a short walk in the morning as it's supposed to be even hotter. There's a fruit farm with PYO nearby so I can see some picking being done by us.
Put extra suncream on folks. Don't forget the ears!
Have a safe trip tomorrow Nellie and Tammy.
Glad you had a good time Millie. Hard not to enjoy it up there.

Wow 32c degs in the van this morning, fridge is working overtime to keep the beer cold. Walked thru one of our newly formed wild flower patches this morning. It overlooks the beach area, this was full of brambles last year but the rangers cleared 2 large areas and look what popped up, hopefully they wlll continue to manage the areas and we will have more pleasant surprises, just got to keep the pesky brambles under control they seem to devour everything including my garden.
family pow wow today to discuss MIL funeral which is next Wednesday Brierton Crem. never been but looks very nice, she took a fall December past, taken into hospital for check up, caught the dreaded Covid and never recovered, she was 94 had a good life and a peaceful end so no regrets.
Doggy day care going to visit also today to finalise arrangements for day, will be too hot to keep pooch in car for any length of time, but he knows them very well, and they love to sit in our garden so no probs.

Glad you had a good trip WN the Malvern area is where we lived for a few years as my mum lived there for a good part of her life, a lovely part of the country and plenty of grat walks enjoy your break.
Very warm here already and top temp today is 32C and getting upto 34C by Tuesday and rest of the week is very warm but the following week a bit cooler, off to friends tomorrow for a bbq lunch as we have not had a meal with friends for about 18th months so looking forward to it so we will all take something so I have got the nibbles to take so that will be easy to prepare, we are picking up 2 friends on the way.
Another pair of friends who run a Chambre d'hote have decided not to take any more bookings except for folk already booked as they are worried that Corvid cases are rising slowly here compared to UK, but a busier August than they normally have as a lot of folk are walkers, as this is a celebratory year for the St Jacques de Compostelle route, so there will be some very tired folk about with this heat, they average about 20 to 30 km a day and at our friends place the walk is very much up steep hills and down again and very rough stony paths not my idea of a holiday in this heat. Keep cool folks and we know that dogs do not like heat our old Spaniels used to love looking for water to splash about in.

WN - Thanks for the recommendation about the motorbike museum in Solihull we didn’t make it when we were there but have been before and it was excellent.
Weather here in Somerset is glorious was 30 degrees yesterday so my planned cycle route was cancelled we just had a walk around a market then popped in to Highbrodge caravans for a few bits and pieces. Weather here again is lovely this morning very warm and to get warmer later on today. Cooked breakfast on the Cadac this morning site very busy.
KJ - Glad you had a nice break
Nellie - Glad you are going to be able to get away
