This recycling lark is great isn't it? Ours is similar and requires storage fir various containers.

We are lucky that our collection is always on the same day of the week, currently Thursdays- but they do chuck out a curved ball every now and then to catch us out! Food waste goes out either week but black and brown bins alternative along with plastic and paper, different containers, and cardboard plus tins, bottles, small electrical old clothing and paired? footwear, again 2 different containers one for the eclectic mixture. That still catches folk out 😱.

If/when we move Huntingdonshire have 3 bins, black, blue recycling, green - garden and food waste. I'm sure I'll loose brain cells because of the ease 🤣🤣.

Edit another really grey day here, neither warm nor cold, plenty of showers and very heavy rain late afternoon and evening yesterday. Our grass is growing like it does in May, needs cutting every couple of days! Rain bashing all the garden blooms 🥲

We arrived in Staithes yesterday teatime. SO lovely to see our N Ireland family again after 18 months. Lots of hugs, a few tears and much chat. The cottage is lovely and I have managed the hill (once!). Despite the forecast the weather has been great. A slighly cloudy morning and clear blue sky and very warm afternoon. The least said about the A1 yeaterday the better!

We always enjoy it up there David. Would have popped in for a cuppa if I'd known.😀

AD we had 1 day wash out and the odd shower on a couple of days in a fortnight between Yorkshire and Northumberland. Should have headed north.

Have a wonderful time Milliehull and as Wherenext says you'll be very fit at the end of the week. Or you could choose not to tackle the hill again - you've proved you can do it!

Good job you went yesterday, HEAVY rain at Peterbrough and flooded parkways. DIL informed me, she has some high tech weather station at 'grandma's' farm the other side of Peterborough there had been 28mm of rain in 2 hours 😱.

We've had 3 weeks of good weather here in S. Cumbria, with only the odd day with any rain to speak of, as far as I can remember. I've been out walking for well over an hour every afternoon and not had to wear a waterproof once, although did resort to a brolly for 15 mins today during a short but light shower. Further north into the Lakes it could well have been a different story though.

Arrived at here just after 2 site very busy weather was warm so we got set up and cooked dinner on the Cadac sister and family are here too with their van too. Lots planned this week including a visit to Oxford and Stratford. Here until the end of next week then off down to Somerset for 2 and a half weeks.

Glad your trip is going well Mille and you have got to spend time with the family

    WOOOOPPPEEEEE  !!

Today I was doing something that I haven't done  since October 2019  laughing  ~~  I walked up to a 25 ton Showman's Road Locomotive and gave it a dirty great big  HUG !!

The Cheshire Steam Fair at Daresbury, not a zillion miles from home but much closer to Warrington ( just if you don't know where Daresbury is of course  wink )  Minimal restrictions enforced but peeps in trading tents/marquees  and in foodstall queues all playing the game as if they wanted to live forever  !! I have to admit that ABM's tootsies are still tingling from the sheer pleasure of standing in front of exhibits with the camera shutter clicking like billy-oh.

Brian is hoping that you all had as pleasant & cheering a day as did he  smile.

Incidentally there was but the occasional little sprinkling of rain on the showground.  Back home in Crewe there seemed to have been even less if in deed any rain.  BUT in the immediate region of Northwich there was a short sharp cloud-burst with lots of full width puddles everywhere  ~~  really gave the Ducato a chassis bath a time or six innocent

Enjoy your break Francis but perhaps you may want to reconsider visiting Oxford.   People there have been advised not to leave the area due to the extreme Covid numbers they have!!

A lovely warm morning here upto 30C plus today so in the process of doing the washing as next few days of rain yet again but at least no watering of the garden. I shall be looking at tv recordings tonight if not much else on tv OH does not do any sport at all so will be on his computer, have watched some tennis and tour de  France so may watch the highlights tonight.  Seen a lot of motorhomes and caravans about but no UK numberplates as yet, but it is holiday season now so will not be going to far for the next two months not into crowds.

    Enjoy your breaks folks.

Have a good break Francis and hope all goes well Tammy.

Second full day home so the caravan was finally emptied ready for service tomorrow, the car washed and hovered and some food shopping done, otherwise it would be jam butties. Also caught up with various emails and admin that accumulated.

Supposed to rain today but hasn't. Quite warm outside.

It couldn't be wetter here, would someone turn the tap off please!!

On "extra" dog duty since Thursday, handed him back mid day, his parents were playing music yesterday at "Somerstock" an event raising funds for our local hospice. Loaned out shower room to daughter's partner as they are down to a loo only whilst the bathroom works continue.. spare shower room in garden building has proved useful.

Daughter is desperate to finish teaching for the year, Covid on the rise, lots of positive tests and she hasn't had her booster yet, booked for early August. We now have cases in our village.

OH out fishing at 6.30 am so the day was mine, early dog walk and then general clear up.

It feels like October, I must not put the heating on....imagine all those half time kettles tonight!

Pleased to hear ABM got a fix of steam.

Hope those heading off for hols once more have a good time.

Good day here today it was nice and sunny this morning so I got up early and went a cycle there are some lovely country lanes to explore in this area a few nice looking pubs near by too. Sister and family left this morning they have went on down to Somerset we will join them again  next week when we head down that way. Took a drive to Stratford today lovely place first time we have ever been there we done the open top bus tour which was great very informative and gave a good commentary about Shakespeare and the towns history. Back at the van now and it’s pouring looks like it’s to be like this all night and all day tomorrow. Plan for tonight is a few beers in the van and watch the football I’m sure a few others on here will be watching too

We have today ,had to alter our tour to encompass  a visit to some  older than us friends'  in Lincolnshire,  we have never encountered the, problems it has thrown up at this time of year, with shortage of pitch availability on not just club sites either, we have had to alter three bookings to enable us to visit.  and cancel two others, as most sites have just the odd day ,it has ended up booking two sites with only non awning pitches available, and then not for as long as needed , and our route has now needed to encompass the Humber Bridge instead of the A1

Mostly because OH  now has need of help,  so disabled facilities are a must

Began the day with son and dog on Staithes beach so the dog could have a good run. She is a wippet cross so runs like the wind! Then up the hill again to fetch the cars and spent a few hours on the beach at Sandsend. Had a picnic lunch there followed by an ice cream. Back down the hill at Staithes (again) and then spent an hour by the river where some of us (grandson and dog) got wetter than others! Very sunny morning but cloudier this afternoon. Now for the football.

Francis. We have spent some time in Stratford as we have friends who live near there. They run some very good and informative river trips.

Thanks brue, I think you have sent the open tap here!

Good to read ABM has enjoyed a day with steam engines and a camera

Seems like other folk are enjoying themselves too.

I'm off to don my wet walking gear for dog walking. Then it's the vets, Dora has had yellow discharge for a month, 2 lots of cream, they don't bother her but saline solution or tea wipes aren't helping. I wonder if it's an allergy as she adores running through the long grasses - but avoiding those walks doesn't seem to make any difference. I have a hair appointment this afternoon so I hoping it will be better by then.

Best wishes to Flyte and Lizzie for recovery and any humans who haven't said they're poorly
