Thanks for the info on the flowers Brue and thanks to Heddlo as well for the local info.
Saw the local forecast and headed north as it said it would be dry. So off to Bamburgh and later, after the tide had allowed us, to Lindisfarne. As you can see the weather went from sunny to a sea Harr but it stayed warm and dry as promised. A long day out but as MiL hadn't been to either we took our time. We decided against going into the castle at Bamburgh as we wanted to do that on a weekday as it was, as usual, busy today. Besides I hadn't pre booked the tickets as we took a quick decision this morning based on weather forecast.
The middle photo is for Grace Darling for those who haven't been here before.

Deep joy.........my photo driving license has at long last materialised from DVLA. Bears no resemblance to me, and the signature is illegible, but apparently it will now enable me to do a driving course, following having my photo taken some three months ago at a couple of miles per hour over 30mph. That was Mum deciding to take her seat belt off to remove her coat that set all Jeep’s alarm systems purring and distracting me.☹️ So a 7.45am zoom meeting this week. When I spoke to Notts police, they were fairly sure it was a male driving, so the plot thickens even more. Definitely not OH, he was still confined to barracks due to Covid risk🤷♀️

WN, if you get a sunny day, Howick Hall Gardens are nice. I don’t think the house is open at the moment, but it has lots of history. Not far from Warkworth, lovely village, some good eateries.

TDA Is that the garden that your recommended to me some years ago when we were staying in Hinderwell? I have it on my list as our DIL would love it. I don't know whether she would be allowed to take plants back to N Ireland though as they are now essentially under EU rules sadly. She will just have to enjoy the afternoon tea instead.

Back home, we got away in the dry but had horrendous rain around Glasgow then back into the dry and sun, only to be repeated just outside Perth.
Then back to dry and sun again so managed to park and unload both car and caravan.
Washing, 2 loads out, 1 now dry and 3rd load still in machine.
Front and back grass cut and edges strimmed, OH cut the small front hedge and then cleared up after me.
Feeling very pleased with myself as I thought we were going to get heavy rain all day.
Still got loads to do like wash van and car. Tomorrow is another day.😁😁😁

That's a beauty, Millie. Hope you have an enjoyable time up at Staithes, another lovely part of the country. We're so fortunate have such a variety of really interesting places to visit and stay at, in such a relative small area.
Another good day out, WN, you certainly are cramming them in this trip. Hope the weather holds for the rest of your stay.
Pleased to hear that you got home safe and sound, TG. OH tried to get the washer on as soon as we get back from a trip, even before the van is fully cleared out, much the same as yourself.

Yes😁 Earl Grey Tea, illicit doings with Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, and Prime Minister.
Lovely Dahlia Millie👍 OH is safely back home, didn’t take long to unpack MH, and we did most of our washing in cottage before leaving, so only had to put things away😁
Our new neighbours have moved in, seem very nice.
Our next trip is booked, Cotswolds to do some gardens. OH says even basic CLs he stopped on have been full, so it’s a bumper year for some of these normally quiet little gems.

Milliehull what a beautiful dahlia.
My garden has had little input this year, just keeping on top of grass cutting and deadheading - otherwise it's fending for itself. Although I say so myself it's not looking too bad. And house viewers all comment on how lovely it looks. Been rather busy sorting out 36 years of stuff from the house and shed, I think I'm beginning to see the light. Been a very emotional time but we've decided we need to be nearer our son, DIL and grandson - an hour and a half might not sound long but it takes its toll and we all have new responsibilities. So we've been up and down as property goes up for sale. 4 weeks ago we were all systems go, but it's been stalled for 2 weeks as a bidding war was wanted sower hoping our survey fee hasn't been wasted......
Lovely to read of folks travels, meet ups and holidays I'd love to join in 🙂
Off out with a friend for a damp dog walk shortly, enjoy your day folks.

Bakers I do hope your house move goes ahead smoothly. What a good idea to be nearer your son. I know that hour and a half journey and it's not always an easy one! Good luck. Keep us posted.
Nellie I hope all goes well at the vets with Flyte today.
Glad to hear that both TDA and Tammy are both safely home after what sounds like successful trips away.
We had lots of thunder yesterday afternoon and it was very humid but only one deluge that only lasted a couple of minutes. Our daughtet who lives in a village 3 miles away had lots of rain.

The cat and I have been out in the veg garden this morning, there is a lot to do out there. He's lucky, he can just curl up amongst some warm plants. The blackbirds are heading towards the currants. Too much to do! OH says we should never go away in June and July....he's probably right.
Our new young neighbours have told us they are getting a puppy soon, a pointer cross. They didn't think it will get over our shared stock fence, built by OH .....who is now going to increase the height of the wiring he so carefully installed to keep a chihuahua from escaping!!
I hope your house move doesn't stall Bakers2, fingers crossed for you, you must have been very busy with everything.
Torrential downpours yesterday, bright sunshine today. Help is needed with our daughter's new bathroom so our day is mapped out.

Miserable wet day today, so glad we got so much done yesterday.
OH been busy sorting out car insurance for the little car. MOT for the tow car and insurance due next month.
I've done another 2 loads of washing, all went into tumbler this time so now we have a mountain of ironing.
Going to shops shortly, rain doesn't look like stopping so may as well go and get some food.
Lovely flower MillieH, I love Dahlias.
Bakers, I hope you get the property you want and the move goes well. A big upheaval for you but being near family will be a good thing.

Good luck with the move although I imagine you are a while off actually doing the move bit? Have you been able to find a property you like? It seems a funny property market at the moment. My youngest son was thinking of moving (since changed his mind) and he was telling me that estate agents won't even let you view a house unless yours is sold. I don't think it something I could relish, at least whilst we have the motorhome as it neatly fits in our back garden. We are lucky that both our sons live nearby, one as close as 3 miles and the other about 15 miles away although both work in MK. isn't this the second house you have had to sort out in pretty short order?

David. The house market was similar when we moved into our present house in 1988. We were not able to view any houses until we had sold our old one. It was rather stressful.

Thanks for your good wishes - I wish I could say I wasn't stressed or panicky in any way shape or form 😀
It certainly is a funny property market at the moment. We have found something we like, so had the lady who's house it was. Just 2 of us in the chain. That one empty - I knew that sounded too good. After our survey we had a 2nd viewing with the owner turns out she was asked to join a bidding war! Not that the estate agent informed us she'd lost hers........ but we are in contact 😉
Lots of agents and new builds won't let you view until they've checked out your situation 😤 guess what gets the blame? Covid 🤐. That includes sight of your savings 😤. The offer of we will buy your property only applies if yours us less than those being sold......
We are keeping our fingers crossed 🤞 and hopefully our lady will find her new home, she's been in hers 30 years. If it's meant to be it will be.
We don't need to rush into a sale and are not bothered unless of course another comes up in one of the 2 villages we are looking in.
Actually having a cuppa in the garden after some gardening, much more therapeutic than sorting lofts, sheds and cupboards 🤣.
Funny sort of day weatherwise hot and sunny, breezy and cloudy and interchangeable. I've got washing dried which is good as tumble dryer heats but doesn't turn, want to hold fire on purchasing stuff - it lives in the shed and has done for 25 years plus so owes us nothing.

Best wishes for a smoother future Bakers.
We've been exceedingly lucky again as the day has stayed dry for us. We drove to Amble and walked into Warkworth via the Castle, about 2 miles by the time we got to the church and quite lovely it was too. We then had a nice lunch at Bertrams cafe and after getting back to the car drove to Alnwick, mainly because it has a Joules there! I've given in. Anything for a peaceful life.😥😁 Fair play to MiL as she restricted herself to just the one item. Some food shopping in Sainsbury's on the way home. Just in time for Gin O'clock for the pair of them. After the miles that the MiL has walked I take my hat off to her and just pour away. It might get better in future when she starts to slow down.🤔
Definitely looks like we're having some of the wet stuff tomorrow.
Nice photo of the Dahlia Millie.

B2 I can't think of any house move we've done (too many in the past) where there haven't been any hiccups. However none of them kept us from actually moving and feeling OK about it when we finally did it...ok but exhausted sometimes, but we got there! So I'll be hoping the same for you.

Lots of luck with your move Bakers2. Thinking of you and hope all gets sorted quickly. It’s something we keep thinking about as would like to be nearer our family in Hertfordshire, prices are rather different though. We’ll just have to find a permanent pitch for the caravan perhaps?🤣🤣 Just joking as there is no way I could live in the caravan full time!

Now on a very nice CL not far from Stamford. We were originally booked onto the CAMC site, but decided, as it has a lot of grass pitches and was fully booked for our arrival day, that we did not want to risk ending up on grass. This CL is adult only and fully serviced, wifi included, really nice, although a couple of £s per night more than Stamford. Getting used to these serviced pitches!
Of our original 10 CAMC sites booked back in January, we have now swapped 6 of them for 3 CLs, 2 CCC sites, and one commercial.
This is not an area we have visited before, so there will be plenty for us to see. We only have 4 nights here, so will pencil in a return visit to the area for next year.
We are hoping our house is OK, there has been several days of very heavy rain according to DD. She is in mid "new roof" and has had water pouring in at times. Sounds like her living room floor is at risk, and a fair area of plasterboard wall and ceiling is ruined. She will not know how bad it is until everything dries out. Such a shame as it was all going very well until Saturday evening. Builders are tearing their hair out as the leaks are due to the zinc roofing specialists not replacing the tarpaulins properly.
Hope you get your house move sorted out before too long B2. I had a feeling that was what you had in mind when you started clearing the loft!

On our way here, as we were only coming from Hertford and arrival here is 2 pm, we decided to stop for lunch en route, and went into Baldock Services on the A1M.
Caravan spaces were signed so we headed there. What we found were 4 bays each about 10m long and around the width of a normal car space.......whoever designed the layout obviously has no idea how big a car + caravan actually is!!!Since we were there, we decided to stay, so unhitched and put the van in one space and the car beside it. I took some photos so we can let them know how bad their spaces are. The van wheels were pretty much on the lines either side, and to fit the car beside the van and still be able to open the caravan door and the car door, I had to keep the car to the rear of the caravan door, and right over to the adjacent kerb.
While the spaces would have been long enough for MHs, they were so narrow you would not have been able to get out of your MH if there was another one next to you.
I presume any other caravans must have gone in with the HGVs.
Are Peterborough Services any better?

Millie
We have fortunately not experienced that when we moved to MK in 1979 (still in the same house) The problem we had was that in those days (probably the same as Peterborough) that a new big employer would move to MK and swallow up all the available housing. On the estate we were initially looking at, the agents managed to sell the same house to two of my colleagues!!! We were lucky as a house by the same builder became available in a much nicer part of MK, and funnily enough a bit cheaper. We had a cash buyer for our house in Southampton. The only fly in the ointment was whether the house would be ready to move into when we were due to arrive in MK!!! If we were to move again I think we would be very tempted to buy a new build as that seems less complicated than chains of buyers and sellers.

Fingers crossed that youk end up with a house without too much hastle, B2. Unlike the majority on here we have never moved, having been in this house 50+ yrs. It has crossed our minds on occasion, and I suppose we should have done it when I finished work about 20 yrs ago, but being work free then we were able to tour as we wished and the took precedence.
Took Flyte down to see the vet again today. She was pleased with the progress of the wound but not enough to allow him any more distance for his walks. It looks as if it is going to be a week or more before he/we can get a few miles under our belts together. Still it's not the end of the world, just a bit like being in the first strict lockdown again.😟

Worse, much worse KjellNN! Wouldn’t even think of trying Peterborough Services. We have tried it once (with the HGVs), never again. We like the CAMC at Stamford and use it often, the wardens saved us a hardstanding pitch on our last visit in May as it had been so wet and as we have a large twin axle (like yours) they thought we would be better on one. First time that has happened but it was very kind of them as we always avoid grass pitches. What is the name of the CL you are using? Sounds perfect for our next visit.

Spent yesterday using some block paving left over from the driveway revamp to accommodate the motorhome to fill the space under the kitchen window to cut down on the amount of garden maintenance required. Definitely a good workout carting them all round to the front of the house from the back garden. Just over half done. Who needs a gym membership?

Belting down this morning so we all enjoyed a lie in as we weren't going anywhere in that. So at 8.30 I got everyone up.

I think we are quite enjoying a day off as we haven't stopped since leaving home 9 days ago.
Hope the weather isn't interfering with too many plans today.

No rain here this morning WN it was rather nice, so took the opportunity to do some tidying up in the front garden 4 bushes had a good trim now they have finished flowering. One rather large heather dug up and a new small bush put in its place, another smaller heather also removed and replaced with a nice small flowering plant pinched from somewhere else in the garden.
OH busy sorting things out in the MH we've decided to go away again come the weekend, CL booked for our first 3 nights in Aberdeenshire then off to Dingwall CCC for a couple of nights. Have to be home again by the following Sunday as the MH and caravan go in for their habitation check on Monday morning. If its nice we might just stay out until the Sunday.
Managed an hour or two in the back garden weeding the gravel area before the rain came on, so came in cleaned up ad tackled the ironing. Now all done OH did his as usual

OH gone off to see his Mum in the care home, not seen her for a month and he was lucky to get an appointment as they have more folk wanting to visit than they have places for.
Think he is getting a take away on his way home so no cooking for me tonight.

Interesting to read you call it a takeaway. Our Scottish friends, she's English by birth, call it a carry out.
Whatever you call it I hope you enjoy it.
