Just home after a great 3 and a half weeks away. Our first week was spent at Chapel Lane Club site it was great to explore the midlands area somewhere we had never really stopped in before also managed a trip to Oxford which was nice one of our favourite places. We then spent 2 and a half weeks down in Somerset at Hurn Lane club site which was also great. It had been around 15 years since we had last stayed in Somerset so it was great to go back and revisit some places sister and her family joined us with their caravan too which made the holiday even better. Weather in Somerset couldn’t have been better the first 10 days were roasting hot such a nice change. Last night we stopped at Blackpool club site just to break up the journey on the way home. Got home today after an easy 4 hour drive up from Blackpool van now unpacked and back on it’s space on the drive it needs a good wash and clean out but that will have to wait until later in the week. Home now for a couple of weeks then we are planning a couple in nights away just at one of our local haunts next longer trip isn’t until September time.
Nellie - I read the review you left and it looked fair enough to me and a fair assessment.
Hope all those away enjoy themselves

My goodness Nellie.😱
I turn my back for a couple of days and look at the trouble you get in! I'm glad you chose Restraint and reined in your "Attack Dog" mode. Much better to hurt them in their pocket which is why quite a few members who value your CL expertise will now avoid said establishment.
I trust the cows are friendlier at College Farm.😁

Well and truly "bushed", which is quite appropriate.
Should have what we intended doing at the beginning of the week done by tomorrow. Good job as well as the people at the tip are beginning to recognise me. Berberis tamed, cotoneaster now almost all out (looking at it it needed it as it was almost dead) and an unruly Forsythia cut back. We have some rooting to do but then our backs and hands can have a rest.
Happy Yorkshire Day all you Yorkies.

NTH read your review very fair I thought. It is certainly one we will avoid in the future.
Good evening/night yesterday at the bbq across the way, was first time out socializing locally for a long time.
Full day in the garden for me, lots more trimming of bushes, a couple had a good cut back including an out of control Berberis. Now half the height it was, OH now has a full trailer load to take to the skip. Still got bits to do in front garden so hoping for another fine day tomorrow, won't be doing any after that as we have to take the MH to Perthshire caravans to get a job done that's been waiting to do since we bought it a year ago.
Wednesday will be caravan packing day as we are going away to the Moray coast for 5 days on Thursday☺
Good to hear you got back home safe and sound Francis, can't believe its been over 3 weeks since you went, where does the days go.

After my encounter with the curse of the wear 🐰 hole I managed to finally get a shoe on both feet today and feel slightly better about walking!
Hoping to get fit for mid Devon CL later in the month, had planned walks...ha ha.
Glad to hear Francis had a good break, great timing for the weather. ☀
Nice to go off to the Moray coast TDA, one of my many favourite places up there.

A man has to do what a man has to do, hence all your scratches, WN.
Our neighbours on site are a lot quieter at night compared to those at our previous CL. See attached photo.

👍👍 Nellie.
Hope the foot is up to the job Brue. I think the meds may need to be toned down a bit. It's Tammy that's braving the pre winter Scottish weather at the end of the week, although I'm pretty sure Ttda wouldn't mind heading up that way. Good luck whoever is going.😂

We have had a long day today.......up at 07.30 to get the van on the road and ready to leave, breakfast, a few last minute bits to go in the van, then away by 09.15.
Couple of miles down the road, the warning beeper on one of the caravan tyre pressure monitors went off due to low pressure. Nowhere to stop until we got to the fuel station we were heading for, so had to carry on slowly.
Inflated tyre successfully, so reckon problem must have been some dirt in the tyre valve stopping it sealing properly, all fine now. Went to fill LPG in the Gaslow bottles, only to find the LPG pump was not working properly, but at least we have discovered a new (to us) station to fill at. Carried on down the M74 and found LPG at Abington services, so avoided a detour to one in Dumfries.
Made good time and arrived at the site at exactly 13.00 and were given the pitch number so we could start setting up before DD and family arrived. We were just finishing our lunch sandwiches when they appeared with their sandwiches. Both the little ones had slept most of the way in the car, so Callum was ready to explore.......both the site and the caravan......after trying out the toilet.
They have a serviced pitch, which is just as well as it is a fair distance to the site facilities, and the CDP is nearby too, so the van's facilities will be well used.
We got the awning up and all the tables and chairs etc unpacked, and DD organised her groceries, then after some instruction on toilet emptying, we were able to leave for home at 16.30. We came back the scenic route via New Galloway and Ayr, and stopped in Ayr for something to eat, so it was just after 20.00 when we eventually got home.
A 223 mile round trip, so worn out now! The weather was good, this evening was really warm and sunny, just hope that continues for their 6 days away.

Oops I knew it was TG not TDA,.
KJ I think a towing course is on the cards for your family!
Waiting for Waitrose. A lot of items missing or substituted. I suppose lemonade will keep in the warehouse till they find a driver.

Just a comment on your review situation - I had it open as a tab, all there at lunchtime with 3 comments, including one saying it was a medical emergency - I clicked in the poster, got internal server error, but not on this others commenting 🤐.
Checked it out at 4pm, right way ahead road signs... page not found
I make no judgement on it other than to raise it among ourselves. I do not want to see this thread closed.
Edit I've just checked out one , a review, I'd commented on where person had been denied emptying toilet waste on a CL, that was headed, curt and abrupt or similar. That too has same signs about right way ahead, page not found.....

Funnily enough I just noticed NTH review had disappeared. As we have a booking at this CL for later in the year I wanted to show OH the comments but the negative one was not there! This cannot be right surely? One can do a review, good or bad, and as long as it’s true and not slanderous it should stand.

B2, I reported the 'curt and abrupt' review because it was a moan rather than a review plus the writer had not stayed at the site. Maybe it's been removed.🤷♂️

I really must fully proof read before posting! It should say I clicked on, not in, the poster who made the comment about it being a medical emergency.
I do hope Nellie gets a reason why it was removed. I can possibly ipunderstand the other I mention being removed, it was factual but did say other comments.
Surely a review is a review so long as polite and factual?? There's questions being raised on paid for reviews on other providers.......

It is indeed, B2. There are guidelines on writing reviews towards the end of the Community Guidelines. In my opinion, 'curt and abrupt' broke them but I can't see that Nellie did.
Ordinarily, complaining about neighbours on site would be irrelevant as it's unlikely anyone else would encounter the same if they visited. However, when the site owner is the one causing annoyance, I think it becomes extremely relevant.

I thought the bit that said there was a footpath through the middle of the site and users wandering around 'vans was very pertinent. I didn't note the name of the site, but as we are not currently using sites it doesn't matter to me at the moment. I didn't have the opportunity to check whether footpath through the site was included in the site description. Something I'd find very important.......

East Midlands Airport wasn't despetately busy yesterday afternoon!

Had to re arrange our bookings again as OH sits in the van quite a lot and we arrived at Wenseydale to find that the TV signal was not fair? But non existent in many areas, , so we are now at York until Friday with a hope that as the site staff have said, we have been getting quite a few non arrivals (mostly new members
) so fingers crossed it continues over and past this next weekend
West Ayton still there if needed but would rather not have to up sticks again as we are booked into Cayton village from next Wed

No brue, our flight was quite busy but there were very few flights and very little open at the airport.
Moulesy there were no extra checks for the NI flight and everything proceeded as normal

Another day another holiday spent at the tip or facing the wrath of the local bird population. I chose the tip!

Had to make a trip to our caravan service place in Wrexham to pick up a new door magnetic set and a window opening fastener, both of which went AWOL on our last trip. Sold on eBay for about £33-35. Bought at dealers for £16.00 with a window fastener thrown in for good luck.
I think I might be dropping the CL dept at EG a line to get a handle on their review guidelines.🤔🤔
