I cannot see that happening brue.
They do not have, nor can afford, a car that can tow our large twin axle, which weighs in at 1900kg, nor do they, at age 36/37 have the licence to tow such a combination.
Also, apparently SIL does not fancy towing.
So, unless we invest in a shared MH, they will be confined to borrowing the caravan to use on sites within about 100 miles of home.

I have been informed by others that my review was removed, but no word from HO concerning the reason, so I have resubmitted it. Don't think that it will stay overlong, so you best have a look soon, heddlo.
I just apologise for the shortness of my reply to you query the other day. Just a couple of pointers that might help you. The site entrance is immediately last The Half Moon Pub, but the CL sign is obscured by the pub's large waste bin until you are nearly on top of it. The lane past the entrance is nice and quiet so fine for walking the dog, if you have one. The site field is large enough to give a dog a short walk, away from the pitching area. We found that 5 days was more enough for us in the area, without having to travel a fair, for us, distance, and that included walking from the site on one of the days. If you take bikes the lanes to the east are quiet for riding out.

I have just read the review and all those that are also on the website ,I do not think ?,any of the other reviews mention the footpath.? All the others seem to give glowing reviews, given the content of the contested review, I am a bit confused mit seems that even the cl owner was embarrassed by what seems was a one off

David, I know I'm a bit of a pest, but having resubmitted the review it would appear that predictive text had taken over!!
. Could you possibly change the title to "curate's" from what has appeared, please. Hope I'm not putting you into any sort of trouble by requesting this.I have not received any notice of why the original review was removed so have contacted the CT section office for an explanation.

A later start but after an off grid night in our campervan (first pic) on Newland's hause a walk up Robinson then along Hindscarth, Dale Head, High Spy, Maiden Moor, Catbells. Overcast at first then sunny.
PS the part about the off grid night at Newlands wasn't really true, although we did start at the hause.

Nellie - sorry to read about your experience.

I have changed it but rather liked the mistake!!!
I am not quite sure what has gone on with the original as it seems both to be hidden and Deleted User which is an odd way of doing things. I have to say I was rather suspicious of the very glowing review that seemed to immediately appeared after yours. The reviewer also posted in the now Deleted User comments on your original review. I think you need to prepare yourself that the second review might might also be Deleted User, I would be inclined to contact the Community Managers email to ask why if that happens.

Thanks, David, again
,I did not see any of the responses to my reviews, being out all day, but not surprised at it's removal after reading of similar happening in the CL thread a few days ago. I too won't be surprised should it disappear again, but it would be good to be able to respond to whatever comments are added before it goes, as there's more that I could say.
I have sent a note to the club's CL section and received an automatic response. Can't say that I expect a reasonable response though!0 -
Nellie
I have been on record as saying I am not keen of the comments section in reviews. Its fine if someone adds an important piece of information but more often the comments are in response to what someone else has posted in the comments which tends to develop into a discussion which clearly not what it is designed for. I have raised that point with Rowena. The poster that wrote the review I was concerned about suggested that "the disturbance was caused by the occurrence of a medical incident on the site being dealt with by fellow caravanners" I would have thought that is would have been explained to you either at the time or the following day?

Seems as if I've got a bit carried away with the review, so apologies to all other poster. I does look as if some are having a good time away and others are rather busy at home. Look forward to reading all your posts and giving appropriate responses.

Grey and cloudy this morning but nice and sunny this afternoon.
Another afternoon in the garden for me while OH was busy in his shed, the 2 gates that he is re making are all but finished. Tomorrow if he has time they will go back down to the Mill and get re hung.
In the morning I sorted out my clothes and put them in the caravan, so that's me sorted.
OH was busy trying to set up a new (to me) phone. It originally belonged to my BIL, still in as new condition but he got a new one. OH tried for over 3 hours to get it set up but if it wasn't one thing it was another that didn't want to oblige.
In the end I told him to forget it as I could see that he was getting very annoyed with it. The only reason he was doing it is that my currant phone doesn't have a lot of memory so he thought it was a good idea to change it. I've since removed a few apps from the phone so have freed up a bit more memory.
Haven't seen any TV tonight as we had a very late dinner then we were both sorting out files etc. on our laptops. I have recorded somethings so will probably watch it tomorrow at some point.
Nellie, I've re read your review and I agree, there isn't a reason that I can see for it to be removed. If as you say its factual then surely folk need to know, I've also looked up the CL and nowhere does it mention a public footpath going through the site, something I would like to know if using a site. I wouldn't feel very confidant about security with folk walking through and around pitches. I hope you get a response and reason for the first removal and an apology from the CL owners OH.

Brilliant day in Stubbington today and looks like summer is back for a while, but it was very fresh when i was out cycling earlier. Was considering sneaking out under the wire this week and heading down thru France with our daughter, maybe as far as San Sebastian, our daughter could then have carried on home and we could have returned, but weather not looking that great down the west coast of France and into Northern Spain so we will probably stay in Blighty as still lots of uncertainty re travel requirements, but caravan is looking quite sad just sat there not having turned a wheel for over 1 month now, roll on September.
Glad lots of people have had some good times away, I notice mainly on CL's, not a great fan of CL's had some not nice experiences especially when we lived in Scotland, e.g. toilets and shower in the barn, EHU 3 pin plug fed from socket in the house, oh! the joys, but you make the most of what you have got and enjoy

That's a shame Rufs. I don't know how long ago it was since you had that experience, but there are some real gems out there (as well as, I admit - some that are less so). Fully serviced pitches and nice, purpose-built toilet blocks are not unusual at all now. When we returned to caravanning six or seven years ago, I drew up a short list of some CLs within an hour or so of home, that we could use as regular bolt-holes and spent the day driving around (without the van) to look at them. Yes, we found some horrors - but we also found some really nice ones that have become regular spots for us when we feel like having a change of scenery.

quite some time ago now, we have lived south for almost 12 years now, but in Scotland in our early days even some sites had converted railway carriages as the facilities block, only complained once , office was in same railway carriage as the facilities, walls had gone spongy, only used the once, great site otherwise by the side of the loch, and owner was not bothered re our complaint and said that he had many Europeans staying who never complained.
Just back from walking pooch, in our shrub land adjacent to Seafiled park there are masses of cherry trees, plum trees, apple trees, scrumped a few hand fulls of cherries from a tree where they were very ripe, but most need some more sunshine.
A lack of camper vans and cars in the car park this morning, i guess this is as a result of now having to pay, not sure where they will have gone because most places now are pay and display and i didnt think £6 for a full days parking was unreasonable. You can buy a season ticket for £80 per annum, and i guess those that have beach huts backing onto the car park will now have to pay this charge

A friend and fellow dog owner and I have just been for a 2 hour stroll round traffic free green lanes, bliss. Tired dogs now.
Weather uncertain grey and warm well late teens but much fresher earlier, good for sleeping. Awaiting towel wash to finish then once they're pegged out I'll start pottering in the garden whilst another wash does its thing. Tesco delivery between 1-2 and lunch to fit in.
I have to say it has the feel of an early September day when the sun breaks through the clouds it seems quite low............ and everything has that deadened sound.
Certainly lots more aircraft activity now.
Enjoy your day folks

Thanks your concerns, we are also getting concerned now, today should be the last day, 62 days i think, she was put to the dog twice 3 days apart so if she took after the last mating today will be 62 days, poor girl is most uncomfortable, daughters friend is a veterinary nurse so she is on stand-by

Fingers crossed that the problem with the review has been sorted, Nellie. Sorry I didn't spot what had happened. I'm away in the caravan at the moment so am looking at things in between visits out and about.
Hope everyone is well. Just been to Healey's Cyder Farm. Carol has decided she likes the cider that has been matured in whisky barrels. Not cheap, so just bought the one bottle! She was shocked to find it was £25 and that I'd bought it - definitely a one off!!

Thank you to two cancellations we now have, a pitch though to Thursday week ,when we move on to Cayton Village

We have decided to curtail much of our long tour shorter stops ,into shorter tour longer stops ,as it is becoming more noticeable that we now need more time to recover after each time we "break camp" then drive and get set up against next site, although we have a set "menu" with what needs doing ,and can normally be on the road in under an hour and set up at next stop in about the same timings ,we now carry more in the c/van as OHs buggy is where Rosa used to travel,She now travels on the rear seat of the car in her safety hammock? Where we used to carry stuff ,that is not needed all the time but now needs tranfering at each stop

Heavy dirty shower .yesterday evening, Black smuts on all the front windows of the c/van that I had rinsed of from journey from wenslydale, the beautiful sunset made up for it

Well didn't manage to stay fully 'on site' as the 'road' to Skiddaw house is just behind us and it's call was too much to resist. But just a hour or so away from the wine

Beautiful MrC, truly beautiful. I can smell the air, sense the breeze & feel the tingle of being amongst that visual joy. Thanks for posting👍🏻🙂

Thanks again David. As I'm unable to pm you to give you a full explanation of what occurred all I will say is that had they retired into the van around 11:00 the "incident" wouldn't have occurred, and we would not have heard them so the whole palavar would not have happened.

Thanks, TG. No response yet! We did get an apology, and an explanation of the "incident", but only from the CL owner the following morning, who was attempting to quieter down the others at the time.
Hope you have a good trip up at Moray......Sunnybrae again?

Cowes week on the Solent so lots of activity on the water, this will end with a big fireworks display on Friday night, they do this from a pontoon anchored off of Cowes so we can see the fireworks from the beach house, another BBQ coming on
Brilliant day yesterday spent most of the afternoon on the beach, had to move east a little as the tide was out and water is deeper the further east you go so good for swimming....still no puppies
Good luck down in Devon & Cornwall with all those holiday folk, our area is surprisingly quiet, but did notice a few more cars in the car park after 1800 hrs when it is free3
