You asked what others would do. I replied. That's it, end of.

Do not let what happens here and on many of both clubs sites put you off , it is very rare any trouble is caused ,by such members on any sites, in fact most members would not be aware,
There is more problems with it seems these days with other ""I pay your wages type of member "

And this site is very relaxing and so quiet, ,with site staff very friendly and well in charge,

Anyone for tennis...?!

Talking of site reviews we've booked a site and three bad reviews came up this week followed by a good one which appeared just as I was dithering over changing the booking, not easy is it to decide what's ok and what isn't.

A cooler and all together pleasanter day for walking today. We ventured "across the border" to Chirk for the day. The castle itself is closed at the moment but the woodland and farmland walks made for a pleasant morning. Then we decided (well, I suggested) to walk along the canal to the Pontcysyllte aquaduct - which turned out to be about twice as far as I remembered!
(I'd post a picture but the wifi here is really (really) slow and I guess lots of you will have stayed at the club site and seen it anyway.)As on our last visit, my abiding memory of Chirk will be the aroma of chocolate!

I always delve into a negative review to try and understand the underlying problem. We have just returned from White House Beach at Kessingland. Two of the latest reviews seem quite negative but they are in the main complaining about the facility blocks and COVID restrictions. If they used their own facilities they wouldn't have anything to complain about! Interestingly both first time reviewers!

Thanks, both Davids!
The site we're going to appears to have an occasional noise issue, I think we've probably drawn the unlucky straw with our overnight stay there, it tallies with match celebrations etc. Had to do some research to find out more. I suppose it's a bit like race meeting sites but dates are a bit easier to find for those. However, we'll survive it, most places have to turn the sound down at some point.....? 🔊🎵

Had a lovely day spent at Dunham Massey NT with our friends. The gardens were looking good but you could see they are missing a few staff as Greenfly were everywhere on the poor Roses. Good display though.
The place wasn't over-peopled and the day got warmer as its went on. We'll hopefully catch up with again when we visit Norfolk in October, lockdowns permitting.
Had an exhausting couple of days since returning form the holidays so will try to take it a bit easier tomorrow.
Good to hear your trip went well TG. Hope Nellie got home OK. Think he might know the way from Kendal by now though.

Moulesy, one reason we don't go to LMP at Chirk is the chocolate smell. Yuk. My goodness I suspect you are in the doghouse after making them walk to the viaduct. Then again knowing your dogs, the doghouse will probably be more than you deserve.

That was one of our go to sites when we were members of the C&CC, TG. There's a good walk from the top of the site over to Haughmond Abbey then across the road and up onto Haughmond Hill. Great views from a couple of spots up there, and also find for a bike ride too. Enjoy your stay, the weather forecast is good for a couple of days before rain on Sunday.

Easy trip home, and as you say, WN, not one we were ever likely to get lost on. Van all cleared out, all the washing done, dried and even some of it ironed. The weather has been really kind after yesterday's rain. The first job on arriving back was to clear the parking area of the dreaded mare's tails and we filled a recycling box with them!!

When looking at reviews many of the negative reviews at this time seem to revolve around times and covid restrictions of toilet facilities and it also as David says by new members and First time reviewers,
It seems many do not take notice of information ,or seem to not realise that the design of facilities blocks ,dictate the amount of restrictions that have to be implemented ,
The request to use your own on board facilities,
Then as all the club sites we have stayed on so far this year 5 including where we are now, extra cleaning both early mornings and afternoons which still leaves many hours for members to use them,

I hope that your first sentence, AD, is not directed at me. As I pointed out I was having difficulty with this blooming site and, therefore, chose to ensure that The Towers were made aware in the only way I could. I certainly would not start 'shooting' , to use your phrase, at JVB who brought the problem to our attention { Thank you for that JVB66 Sir And thank you, too, Rowena for your swift response }

It possibly stems from the risk assessments on which the current arrangements are based being site specific rather than one size fits all.
Not all facility blocks have the same layout or entrance/exit door positions so the risk assessments are individual leading to the apparent anomalies you’ve noticed, vbfg.
With regard to the newbie reviewers, I wonder if anyone has actually explained to them why the current and, hopefully, temporary arrangements are in place. Understanding of the situation would smooth many a path.

There's such a lot of information to absorb when arriving at sites in the present situation things are bound to be misunderstood or simply missed.
The easiest and safest solution is to use your own facs if you have them.
Some newer reviews are quite irate, insisting facilities aren't available etc when they're actually closed for cleaning. It can be misleading reading these reviews.

Indeed it can be misleading, Brue.
I mainly take notice of reviews by posters on here as at least I have a grasp of the reviewer's thinking and know whether to take note of what’s said…..or not😳.
