Lovely sunny day yesterday, started with a cycle along the Mersey at New Brighton. Back to van for lunch and a shower before meeting up with WN and Mrs WN, lovely couple of hours sitting in the sun putting the world to rights and a good few laughs. Was great doing something normal.

Today started out promising but sadly failed to make it, sun didn't really manage to bear off the clouds.
Washing done this morning though and all dry by lunchtime.
Cycle ride out this afternoon on the Wirral way, went the opposite direction to the other day.
We've enjoyed our 4 days here so I can see us coming back again in the future.
Off to Shropshire tomorrow, so not far away.
Bakers and Millie, totally agree with your comments re litter, really winds me up when I see what some lazy folk leave behind

We had a Comprehensive school teacher next to us this last weekend,on the Sunday who shouted at two children about 13or14 who had been to the site office to get ice creams, then commenced to unwrap and drop the packaging as they returned to their "parents? LV they did stop and look then ran off without picking it up ,they were not seen afterwards, he said the school he is at litter is a real problem and some staff tend to ignore it as the hassle they get from some students and even worse the parents,if given detention for the offence is just not worth an already stressed staff

Most schools are pretty tough about litter on the premises JVB. Outside is another matter.
Vey warm but a few spots of rain at tea time. Busy day, visiting dog, help in the garden, visitor chatting about fishing (fishing season started this week) etc etc. Waiting to hear if elderly neighbours will be moving before we go away, their move has been further delayed so went round to see them, all packed up and nowhere to go. Just hope it goes ahead.

Fine warm day yesterday so we had a walk up on Scout Scar. Last evening we were "entertained" by a drumming band practicing out in the open in front of the school opposite the site. I did enjoy hearing them but OH wasn't enamoured at all!!😁
What a change in the weather today!! Some to grey skies and a low mist on the hills. We took a ride into the Lakes, where it started to drizzle and then rain, and were surprised by the amount of traffic. It was far too busy for us, so after a shortish, fairly sheltered walk from Clappersgate we returned to the van via Staveley, and another walk. Site is full tonight and a lot quieter too. This is the last night of our current trip as we're off home in the morning. Already looking forward to our next trip away.

Nice to hear of the meet up and Moulesy's walks. The warm fine weather others are having in other parts of the country does make me jealous.

Well after a really hot sunny day, 28c in the shade, we had a pleasant breeze get up about 6pm and clouds forming. By then I'd cut the grass. Scrappy dinner eaten in the garden, 1st time this year for dinner and it was past 1930!
About 2030 definite air change and a welcome steady rain which hit the hot ground making that wonderful smell - name of which escapes me. You can here the grass and plants sigh and drink welcomingly. Hopefully a nice steady overnight job and dry tomorrow 🤞
Settled down to watch the sewing bee final. So good, exciting and close most enjoyable day.
Sleep tight folks

Another busy day for us. Needed food so I did some shopping whilst OH started some weeding. I joined the weeding gang and gave a few hedges a trim and also had yet another seesion clearing between the block paving. Neighbour lent me a heat burner but the grass was so dry I was a bit worried about a fire so did the job the old fashioned way.
Sorted out some paperwork this afternoon then took the ladies out to meet up with some friends for a lovely meal and long chat. The pub/restaurant was half smpty for covid reasons and windows open and we enjoyed an excellent meal. First time they've travelled outside their own area since before Xmas 2019. We all felt very safe sitting in a corner of a very large room.

Nellie, one year we were on a site near Cadiz in Southern Spain and it was the lead up to Easter. The local youth band came to the adjoining sports arena next to site for their practice, except they started at 11 at night!😨 Went on for a couple of hours, but they were good and it was a hot night so we didn't mind. This caravanning lark does have its entertaining moments.

No rain here yet. I hope we get some good steady rain soon as the plants and grass are crying out for it.
Bakers 2 I too really enjoyed the final of The Great British Sewing Bee. Such talented contestants. They all deserved to win.

Lovely rain overnight but its much more humid this morning. 21c already. Thankfully no musical accompanying it but I don't think we'll be so lucky today 😱. I dislike storms
Wherenext I have an electric burner for our block paving, I find it very therapeutic and effective. Tackle 'em little and often. I also find it great for nasty pernious weeds like ground elder that creep from next door and things like dandelions where you can't get the full root out. Not to mention brambles... I had to find something to speed things up if I want to maintain my standards now I have to do most things alone. I have a cleaner, I prefer gardening, but the standard isn't my own...... I've had to learn to concentrate on the important things and no sweat the small - 'taint easy!
Dog at daycare, she likes it, as we have appointments and she's not happy on her own. She's getting better with folk ringing the doorbell and coming in. Having a lockdown puppy brings other issues 😀.
Enjoy your day folks

Lots of rain here overnight althought not enough to give more of a dampening effect. I missed the Sewing Bee final, I watched the two world leaders speaking and then had a break from TV last night, did some tidying up outside etc until it was dark. Will do catch up for the sewing winner later, I enjoy good sewing and tailoring. I patched up a pair of OH's denims yesterday, he had caught the edge of a pocket on a door handle and luckily it was a clean rip...I hate catching clothes on handles, it hurts sometimes!
Beautiful roses Millie (and B2 previously) ours have been late but making up for it now, nice scent in the damp air.

Very heavy rain here last night heard thunder in the distance but none here very humid this morning and a couple of showers
Not saying we have several members and outfits on site ,from another community all being "quiet" so far many white new ford transits as well
when I was getting some water last night a Young girl with a pomeranian? puppy came to talk ,and when I showed interest in her dog she said did I want to buy it we have some more in our unit

And when mum? came out of the toilets she advised in was "my man" who was selling them?
They have it also seems with staff shortages as the person responsible for the experiance freedom units is on leave ,and the staff here already short have refused to cover

Some friends of ours who now do voluntary work have been asked to help out at Brighton site and will be paid

That selling of puppies rings alarm bells with me JVB.
7 -
+1 Mills, puppy farmers for sure😤. Taking pups away is not normal.
3 -
JVB, I think your descriptions of site stays may put people off. If you are concerned about anything have you considered contacting head office? Selling animals on a CAMC site sounds wrong and also very worrying for the welfare of the animals.

Milliehull your rose is beautiful. I took ours at 0545 this morning to send to NZ. I think you can almost feel the humidity.
JVB definite alarm bells ring with that conversation I do hope you have reported it to the site staff and HO. The club don't want something like that to tarnish their reputation.
Still humid here but only spits and spots of rain.

JVB, the thought of animals being traded in such a manner is greatly upsetting. Unfortunately Infernal Errors are impeding my search so, sadly, I have taken the liberty of Reporting your post to ensure that H.O. are fully aware..

Meanwhile, JVB, a note of the registration number might prove useful as may a call to the RSPCA.
I can understand you might well feel reluctant to collect any photographic evidence.

Hi JVB66 If you have any concerns about the welfare of animals staying on Club Campsites please can you email the Sites team with information enquiries@camc.com or call 01342 327490. I will also contact the Sites team to notify them of your post and to potentially expect an email or call. Many thanks.

There are several "Members" on site from the same fraternity and it the last thing I am going to do is look, for any that are doing illegal selling not as if they would have them on site?
Have a look at the last couple of reviews of Alderstead heath site,
1 -
We have the first week of September booked in there, or should I say we were booked in there as I have now cancelled. If CAMC cannot take control of these minority 'members' on a site because they are afraid of discrimination accusations, then they will join the rest of the countries enforcement agencies in turning a blind eye to this section of the community.

Arrived at our new site just after 13.00.
Ebury Hill, its a C&CC site. Site divided into parts, we are on the lower section where its all HS, we are just across from the pond. This part is the old quarry, weather a bit grey but warmish.
I don't like the idea of what JV has suggested may be going on, its something that needs bringing to clubs attention.
Going for a look around.

Bakers2 Your Rambling Rector rose is an absolute beauty. We had some nice gentle rain this morning but now dry and cloudy. It is definitely cooler than yesterday and not as humid as overnight. We could do with some more rain though (but be careful what you wish for
). I don't want heavy rain that damages all the plants and flowers.0 -
All those at the coal face have been advised and are under the same impression as myself
,being on private property the club if having problems with some members are in the same situation as councils etc,
And is a costly exercise to get resolved,
So what would others do in such circumstance ?

I would act on Rowena's advice.
