A good send off for HRH.
Meanwhile back on the driveway, like Goldie last minute panic with the motorhome, shower tap leaking. A quick visit with the van to our friendly service people but still no fix. So new part on order and we will limp along on our break, we can survive by not switching the water pump on too often and at least the leak drains into the shower tray. I had envisaged a bucket type washroom set up so not too bad!
Service peope think there'll be quite a few problems due to vans being "laid up."0 -
Yup been another of those glorious days, Daughter in Spain very envious, Strawberries from local farm shop, big dollops of cream for evening dinner

It's all part of it of course. If there were no Royal Family there wouldn't be the ceremony as featured today. Royalty is so much part of our British character and fabric of our society. I am not putting an argument for or against just suggesting that we would be a different country without it? Some might prefer that?
I was nervous on two scores today. Firstly that the Land Rover wouldn't start when they put the coffin onboard!!! Secondly I was nervous for the pallbearers, especially the ones who had to carry the coffin up the stairs!!! So well done to all concerned. Thought the music was nice.

Great event and a showcase for the world, lots of what the BBC have shown in archive filming was put together many months ago, when sadly HRH was not looking great, however, the precision of todays event was put together in just 1 week, all the practising that had been done expecting a much grander affair had to be thrown out of the window, well done to all and good to see Harry, William and Kate strolling together, loved it

Good visit to our son and family, DD and the children came too. Tried to repair his drone, everything apparently now works, but it will not lift off, so something is not right.
Very sunny but a chilly breeze. We had lunch on the patio......home made soup, crusty bread, and chicken, ham and coleslaw if anyone wanted a sandwich, then mugs of hot coffee required to heat us up, even though we had sweaters and fleeces on!
Callum had a great time exploring with his much older cousins, using the climbing frame and the child size tractor plus trailer, but was not so keen on the big trampoline. Nathan slept most of the time, but Auntie, Uncle and cousins each had a hold and got to know him.
Busy driving down this morning, lots of people heading to the Ayrshire coast, we set off home before 4pm to avoid the returning traffic. We met a huge queue coming south as we neared home, probably people returning from Loch Lomond, so car parks everywhere must have been busy!
Off now to get the caravan moved.

Cleaning day today.
Caravan got the full treatment. I gave it a tickle a while ago but have bought better ladders since and these were a big help. So a good 2 hours worth. One of our M/H neighbours got talking to me whilst I was cleaning the roof and told me he wasn't allowed up ladders anymore so he was just going to clean the rest of the van, so guess which muppet cleaned his roof? Yep. Anyway he'll do me a favour if needed and his wife keeps an eye out for MiL when we're away.
Been a beautiful day weather wise.
Nice photos M.
Good luck to the leaky ones.

You haven't put the rotors on upside down, have you?

Give me some credit CY!!
I think possibly one motor may not be working 100%, it tries to lift off but cannot quite make it. Apparently it just fell out of the sky a few weeks back, though son reckons a bird may have attacked it.
2 of the 4 rotor arms were damaged and have been replaced and I have repaired the circuit board where the wires were ripped off. Possibly the damage was more extensive than he reckoned and he needs to replace the other 2.I have done my best, so it is up to him now!

Grey day here, big change from yesterday. Our old greenhouse is now being dismantled ready for removal, have given the dismantlers the assembly instructions to follow in reverse, and laid out all the bits of benching that go with it.
It will be curtains for us today.......curtain making for DD that is!

Managed, just, to get the van onto the street yesterday evening, wheels either side of the danger area and avoided getting the jockey wheel caught by just 50cm, unfortunately we did not have anything to cover the drain with. Van will have to go back onto the drive this evening.
We can easily get one car onto the drive past the hole on one side, but not on the other side, so not so good. Will be interesting to see what happens with the bin lorry tomorrow! I put a bin on the street this morning to mark the hole before the greenhouse dismantlers came, in case they did not realise it was so dangerous.
We are hoping it will not be months before it is fixed as it could all collapse into the drain below if a vehicle drives over it.

First day of no sun for ages, we got a little rain early this morning just enough to wet the soil but not enough to do any good.
Lazy day for us, got a bit of sewing to do but nothing pressing. Finally got round to making a sun blocker for the MH. Its for the front of the canopy, made it out if 2 x single sheets. Bought the Kadar strip to run in the front gutter, joined the sheets together and attached the Kadar strip, adjusted the length to suit, made and attached ties to fasten to the legs, fitted loops of elastic to the bottom to peg down. Pleased with my efforts and at a cost of £25 compared to what Thule charge is a bonus

Only another week until we can go away
still not heard anything about our second jabs, according to the NHS website if you've not heard by week 11 get in touch with your GP practice. That could be fun trying to get through, then convincing them you are following orders.GP won't be able to jab as they only do AZ we had Pfizer so I guess they should have a contact number for the centre we got our first one at.
OH muttering something about lunch so I guess I will have to and feed him😂😂
WN, you be careful up those ladders 😁😁

Gorgeous day here, lovely and warm in a sheltered spot. Sorted Mums new patio out with her new bench seating this morning. Lovely little spot for her to sit and watch the birds now. Potted up some strawberries as well for her.
Few things to do in MH today. Got the call for second jab as well yesterday, only eight weeks before first one. At least we will all be as immune as possible by time we go to Scotland.

TG, bit late now especially as I've been up them again today.
It's OK though as Mrs WN has upped the life assurance. Why do Graffiti Artists find walls so fascinating? I've spent a good couple of hours covering the bricks on the east side of the house with a brick sealant and I can't say it was an appealing job. Needed the ladders to get to the apex TG. In typical fashion I've run out of sealant with about a quarter of the wall to do and I've done the "West Wing" so will buy the smallest tin I can find.
Just off to the kitchen myself to prepare the evening meal. I think it's Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice noodles.
Day was quite warm here with hazy sun.

Lawks, Goldie
, you shouldn't throw out old spice -- don't you know how much it costs ?? At least put it on display by the farm gate with the strap-line ~~ as used by all our animals. That should get you bonus brownie points if nowt else

" ... you shouldn't throw out old spice ..."
No - I'm still slapping it on after shaving, much to Mrs M's displeasure!

The crowds are back in force in Cornwall - at least you'd think so judging by the packed car parks in Perranporth today. But stroll up on to the cliff path and look back and you'd imagine we might still be in lockdown!

Now back to sensible matters
, Thin high cloud over the County Palatine today, started off cool but at least no frost to solidify the bird baths, now its up to about 16*C but slowly dropping as the sun disappears behind buildings. I'm going to have to start watering the bushes on a regular rota if we don't get a steady over-night supply of rain soon. Have to admit that the bushes are sprouting away merrily, even where the birds have worn entry holes to access their perching / roosting baskets ~~ this autumn I'll have to check on them 'cos they do tend to fall apart after a couple of seasons use ~~ restless sleepers these sparrows !A bit of serious food shopping tomorrow [ Monday ] then a weekly visit to aged Sister on Tuesday before shoving wallet & ALL contents in time locked safe whilst I wander the world studying new teleboxes as well as laptops or similar -- might get "urgent please contact us" messages from the Bank if I carry the cards with me
.Good Wishes to all Travelling Folks if out on the road or just in the planning / preparatory stages.

Warm day and we had booked a slot at Belsay Hall (EH) just north of the airport. The tea room was doing takeaway meals and then a lovely walk around the hall, castle and gardens. Quite busy and the car park does take largish MH (there was two) in the car park. Great to be out and about again.

Same here TG, we even had to turn on the heating at 5pm!
Caravan safely back on the driveway, and all greenhouse bits removed, the fellows doing it were very efficient, though I had to lend them a few tools.
Apparently they will only be delivering the bits, not putting it back together, which makes sense as some repairs/new bits will be needed before it can be re-assembled.
Dentist for me tomorrow morning, then some small tree removal at DD's

Belsay is a real interesting place isn’t it Corners? We have been a few times, different seasons. They use it for some good exhibitions as well. Last time we were there, they had all the costumes from Jane Austen film and TV adaptations. I got to touch Mr Darcy’s shirt🥰 Times before that, got to see Stella McCartney’s wonderful crystal horse, first hanging in the old castle, then it had been moved into the new Hall. Very spectacular.

Lovely warm day yesterday and we had a pleasant 7+ mls down to the River Severn and back through Ombersley Park. Lots of butterflies about as well as Yellowhammers, and saw our second Swallow.
Today was somewhat cooler and cloudier. Son and DIL, and their lovely 9 monrh old puppy came over to see us at the site. We had a fine walk around the local fields and a good old chat while out walking and back at the van. It was lovely to meet up again after such a long time.
Good to hear that you have a date for your second jab, tda, and that you are able to make your Scottish trip without any problems.
Hope everyone else who is getting ready to head off have a good time away.i

Nice bright day here today. New Cadac arrived this morning so built that up just to check it was all ok which it was so good news looking forward to using it on our trip away at the end of next week. We have had our original one for just over 8 years now and it’s been great just getting a bit worn out as we use it a lot while away anyway we are going to hang on to it and use it at home for when the weather is nice and if it’s just us it saves firing up the big BBQ we have plus we can cook breakfast etc on nice mornings

Not quite the day we envisaged when we woke up this morning.
Mrs WN had a filling fall out of a tooth on Friday evening, just after dentists shut so rang this morning for an appointment. No problem, dentist doesn't work Mondays so one was made for tomorrow morning. Ladies then decided they desperately needed to get some clothes shopping in at M&S in the outlet village near the Chester CAMC site at Ellesmere Port so I offered to drive as I needed to get some stuff from B&Q in Chester. Whilst at Marks Mrs WN got a call from dentist saying dentist had to come in today so would she able to come in just before 12?
So off we went to Chester, which is being turned into a one way system. Chaos but we got there in time and I went off to B&Q and had to effectively go all the way around the new system to get back to dentists. Anyway the work was done as the dentist had an emergency that she had to come in for.
MiL bought 2 tops in M&S. She is a size 12. One, size 12 is too small, the other showed size 12 on the hanger but inside was a Size18 !!!!! It fitted!!!! She is no bigger or heavier than she has been for many a year. Mrs WN bought a pair of Cargo pants size 10. Too big!!!! She bought a normal pair of pants size 12, too small !!!
Both of them are fuming at M&S so looks like I'll be taking another trip to M&S. Joy.
Oh and the Brick sealant I had to buy? Yep, they didn't have any small tins at B&Q. Typical. Looks like the whole house will be done this year.

No frost this morning, but overcast skies and a cool breeze made it feel a lot colder for our first walk up on the dunes. No problems parking this morning, yesterday the little lane was packed all the way along, a combination, I guess, of the first Sunday after lockdown, fine weather and a surge in visiting surfers wanting to avoid parking charges down by the beach.

Later we drove down to Godrevy (the lighthouse was the inspiration for Virginia Wolfe's "To The Lighthouse"). Last time we were here there were upwards of 100 seals down in the cover, today just about a dozen or so. Walked along the cost path to the fearsome looking Hell's Mouth. Then back for a picnic lunch and, joy of joys, the ice cream van had turned up!

As the Cathedral has decided that all volunteers need to take a lateral flow test the day before they are on duty (the staff who cannot work from home already take 2 tests a week) I did my first test this afternoon. That was fun (not really
). It came back negative so all good. I have just spent an hour sitting in the sun in the garden enjoying listening to the birdsong. Glorious sunny day here and very warm in the sun - cool when in the shade though.Your days does sound 'interesting' WN
. I am also annoyed with the M&S sizing at the moment. I hope you enjoy your repeat visit there.Lovely photos moulesy. Such a a beautiful part of the country.
