It sounds like you have had a wonderful few days away WN. Glad to hear that nellie's trip has started well also.
Another beautiful day weather wise, Chilly but clear blue skies. It must have been cold overnight though as the water in the bird bath was frozen solid first thing. The diary is filling up fast! Walk with son and 2 grandsons on the last day of their school holidays tomorrow. Next week - dentist appt, coffee in the park with a friend and another day lunch in a friend's garden. Also 2 birthday presents to deliver. Hair cut yesterday - I feel like a new woman!!
CY I hope the results of your OH's MRI scan go well.

Newly hatched baby blackbird laying dead on the decking this morning. I think the mother must have accidentally flicked it out when she left the nest. She still seems to be sitting on eggs. A visit to Homebase and Dunelm, neither seem to have many staff working, especially Dunelm. Needed nets for the bedroom Windows in the new caravan. No one working on the cutting space, then the chap who eventually arrived didn't have a clue. Surprised as many customers waiting, busy, as you would expect after so long being closed. Maybe staff still furloughed.

Good of Boris & Matt to have organised great weather to coincide with the first bit of lockdown lifting!
We've had lovely warm sunny days but cold overnight with a touch of frost this morning and a cool breeze.

So far we've been catching up with a bit of maintenance on the van, but today we went down to St Agnes (sob story alert!
) and did one of our favourite walks along to Chapel Porth passing the buildings of Wheal Coates mine and then along the valley circling back round over St Agnes Beacon where, for a very moderate effort, the views are tremendous along the coast past Perranporth beach to Trevose Head in one direction and down beyond St Ives the opposite way.(And now for the sob story - having stood in a long, long queue at the bakery I got to the hatch to be told, sorry only 1 large steak pasty left and there's a 10 minute wait for medium ones. Plenty of "vegan" ones though! So we had to make do with sharing the one steak pasty available and supplementing it with an abomination called a "cheese pasty"! Bet Ginsters don't do them.

Lovely walks Wherenext and Moulesy. Heard on the local weather forecast that our clear cold skies are due to Arctic weather which gives us longer distant views. I was looking skywards today, impressed by the deep blue above and the cloud formations, then I spotted a Swallow, a liitle bit earlier than last year. I keep a little notebook of our trips, just places and dates and also when I see the first swallow each year.
Handed back visiting dog, his "parents" had a good stay on Dartmoor.
Elderly neighbours house sale fell through yesterday and the same day they had a new offer and accepted it! Just about managed to sort food order out for them when we go away but not sure about any of our planned longer stays. Maybe the house move will take care of that?
Finally got round to getting carpets up in van, wished I hadn't as it was very fiddly but at least I know things are nice and clean underneath.
Made a Dundde cake to take away, waiting for it to cook, that's me for the day!

Your walks sound fun, WM and M. We had frost over night but the morning was fine and relatively warm. Easy if relatively slow drive down to Ombersley and arrived to find that the site was nearly full, just our pitch available. We just had a wander round the fields from the site after lunch, before putting up your canopy, which hasn't been used for quite a while.

Quite a differents start to the day as not only have we the frosty start as the last few days but also thick fog this morning

Enjoy your trip JVB, hope your booster goes well.
We're off soon, will be glad to get away.
Frosts every morning this week, had to protect some plants, it has really knocked a lot back. Quite different from last year, sitting outside in the warmth, listening to the birds!

One of our favourite walks as well M, really interesting. We used to go for a swim, then climb back up onto cliffs, there’s a lovely little hidden sun trap comprising old mine working walls, off the main paths. Spent hours there dolphin and seal watching. Is the “Hedgehog Ice cream” hut still there? I can taste a Croque Rosemary now😋
Ginsters do turn out a Cheese Pasty, but it’s only for the brave😂 Philps however do a delicious version👍

Another gorgeous morning. The weather this week has been pretty predictable - bright but frosty starts, then warming up in the morning followed by cloud cover coming in around lunchtime then all clear and sunny again by late afternoon. And forecast to continue that way and get warmer over the next few days.

Have been catching up with a few jobs this morning, off for a walk down to Holywell Bay this afternoon and booked for Trellisick tomorrow.
Still avoiding any close contactvwith others as far as possible but in some ways the lockdown seems a very distant memory now!

Another sunny day, but still quite cold in the air. We had a bit of a change of plan for this week, did not have our planned "days off".
We have an old Alton cedar wood greenhouse that we have been trying to give away for a few years as it needs a bit of repair and we no longer use it, and last week DD put it on her local facebook forum and we now have people coming to dismantle and remove it on Sunday.
Then the unexpected change of restrictions is allowing us to visit our son and family on Saturday, so we are now having today and the weekend off instead.
Will need to move the caravan for the GH to be extracted, which may be a bit of a problem as we found this after the bin lorry was here on Tuesday........
Right in the middle where we usually take the van over.

Busy day....OH has been doing multiple loads of laundry using the power from the roof, and I have been out repairing the burst pipe to our outside tap and cutting back our neighbour's clematis that was trying to take over the steps up to the garden.
This afternoon I will finally have time to replace the strip lights in the caravan with LED ones, and try to plan how I am going to manage to move it out onto the street on Sunday morning.

Busy cleaning out the inside of the caravan today, surprising what you find tucked away under bunks in drawers, receipts from 2010 for sites we visited, site maps, brochures for all the local areas, TV and associated gear under bunks that has not been out since Charles/Diana were married, brand new water pump that i had forgotten about and have since bought another.
Also polished and dusted all the woodwork under the bunks and up above, have to say Coachman in 2008 did produce some good vans, and most of ours is original, we did get new carpets at great expense and now we have washable runners over the carpets
the only problem we have really is that it is a 5 berth and although it gives you the space and some slack on weight you carry it does mean you carry stuff you really dont need, and it is a lump to tug.4th May and we are off to Dorset for 2 weeks, really looking forward to it, just hope the weather holds up, April has been glorious thus far, fingers crossed for May. Cut the lawn yesterday but the ground is so dry and cracked, no rain for ages.
Enjoy all those who are still away, a little bit envious but got 2nd jab next week so could not have gone far , did consider Rooksbury park as only 30 mins from home and the surrounding woods will be very dry just now so ok for walking but decided to wait.

KjellNN, you must have a large plank of wood that would cover that drain area and looking at it surely you just need to get the Jockey wheel over it as there looks sufficient room for the wheels to miss going over that spot.
Had an easy drive back today, taking just over an hour. Unpacked before lunch, Mrs WN reports three lots of washing done, dried and some now waiting Ironing. Lovely day again, if nippy out of the sun.
Had to visit Tesco at a time not of our choosing as we needed food for the weekend but it was manageable. Enjoyed the time away but won't be taking the van away now for another 3 weeks. Good luck to those away, about to go away and desperate to be away.

Looks like it's going to be washing the caravan day tomorrow.

A sunny day but a cold wind too. A bike ride just to the Tyne in the morning for breakfast followed by a car ride to Whitley bay in the afternoon for an outdoor cake and coffee. Then a walk along to St Mary's Island. Half way along the causeway my phone connects to the New Hartley site Wifi! Must be a strong signal! What is it a quarter of a mile or more?

Following on from the above, the tide just coming in over the causeway.

Hopefully! Not sure if we have plank, a large bit of ply might be better as thinner, but we do not have any. Normally one set of wheels would go right over that area.
Since OH took those pics, they have been out and looked at the problem, and also disturbed all the broken bits, so it is worse now than it was. There is a huge bit sticking up now. I am reluctant to touch any of the bits in case they try to blame us for the damage.
I will move the van tomorrow PM, not at the last moment on Sunday morning, just in case of a problem. I have tried the mover and it is currently working, but one never knows.
The van is a twin axle, so moving is not so easy.
Typical that this happens just when we need to move the van!

Kjell, we've had a large hole on our road opposite our drive for about 4 months now and there was still no sign of it being repaired when we left on Wednesday, although the "man in a yellow jacket" had been to have a look over 3 weeks ago. I doubt that it will be fixed by the time we get back from this trip in June.
Another fine day after frost through the night, although cloudier than previous day but a touch warmer I think. Went to Witley Court to see the Perdue and Andromeda fountain in action as we sat below the chalk having our lunch. Then onto Abberley to view the remains of the Norman Church there and had a walk through the village. In places the banks by the road were a perfusion of wildflowers...daffodils, celandines, wood anemones, primroses of different colours, hyacinths and bluebells.

Love the Perseus and Andromeda fountain, spectacular when it hits full flow. Ages since we visited Witley Court, I think we went from Bromyard Downs. Seem to recall a very nice tea garden next door, and the interesting church. Can’t get over this weather, wall to wall sunshine, still a touch cool in the breeze, but nice in a sheltered spot. Very dry here though. I can’t recall last time we had rain, water butts totally empty.
I have been re potting cacti and succulents today, vicious little so and so’s some of them......ouch!

So pleased to hear that all those away are having or have had a good time with good weather. It has been a bit cloudier today but with sunny intervals. It has been slightly warmer though. We met eldest son and one grandson (teenage grandson out with his friends) and their dog for a walk this morning. Very heavy traffic towards the coast with lots of caravans and MHs on the road. We went to a Memorial Evensong for the D of E at the Cathedral this evening. All very socially distanced. A very fitting service. Ths Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire was in attendance complete with his spurs. I gave him a wide berth on the waybout. I didnt fancy having my shoes shredded!

Millie, good to see more of the family. OH said the road south was busy yesterday, he took the M/H for a test run and fill up. As we rarely buy fuel now it was a shock!
More frost this morning, packing the van later.
Kj even when we had a leaking water pipe and flooded road we had to wait over two weeks for the repair at the end of our drive.
Got the latest Gardener's World mag for the 2for1 offer so can use it while we're away.
Waiting for early food delivery now. Note received that no newspapers if delivery is before 3pm our neighbours like their free DM so will miss out.

Glad those away or who have been away are having a nice time.
Lovely day here today up early as we had a Iceland delivery plenty of beer/wine, burgers, steaks etc as we are having a BBQ this afternoon. Watching the Dukes funeral later then sister and family are coming. Round for BBQ and a few drinks so looking forward to that. Just under a fortnight now until we get away in the van can’t wait I bet the weather changes for the worse the minute we turned out our street that day lol.
Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend.

Must have been very long spurs if 2 metres didn't suffice.

Another sunny day and warm in the caravan when we were getting it ready for a trip out next weekend. It was supposed to be a quick job, put the spare gas bottle in and flush through the water system. But after much spluttering (from the water and OH) we found the Surge Damper was broken at the bottom. So, back in the house and ordered one from Amazon (delivery this Wednesday, when Prima Leisure were quoting end of May). I checked various jars of herbs and spices that were lurking in a cupboard and ruthlessly threw out those with an expiry date older than two years ago.

Almost like a summer data, today, the winds have dropped and it's been warm enough for T shirts and shorts!

Had a great day out at Trellisick, took the dogs round the woodland walks this morning. Bluebells just beginning to show through, but plenty of primroses, celandine and wood anenomies along the way.
And then a stroll around the gardens themselves which are looking particularly good at the moment. The rhododendrons are in full bloom, one particular Cornish Red variety was covered in flowers and the borders are looking their best.
Just about the perfect day out (apart from coming back to read the football scores!
