Another dollop of snow overnight, not much mind, Mother Nature seems to be saving it & dropping the bulk inland, we have around 25mm(1”)🤷🏻♂️☹️

Nellie it was 3 weeks. He is over 80 (but was a 'spring chicken' compared to most there!) so was in the very first batch in December. It was at our hospital hub and they made the 2 appts at the same time. He got the 2nd dose just before they changed the rules so he was very lucky. I am younger (child bride 😅)so mine was later and done at our GP hub. They said they will contact me in 12 weeks. I hope they dont forget me

Cold here, -2, snowing gently when I got up about 0715, small stuff. Heavier now slightly larger flakes. Fed the birds deforested their water, feed the ground feeders again. Scattered some more salt, just a little to keep the vital paths clear. Now eating my breakfast it all takes a time!
Unbelievable as it seems our pond is much lower again ???
Apart from a dog walk and packaging soup for freezing, wasn't cool enough last night, I have yet another 'free' day.
Stay safe folks

"I expect to hand the card over, and never see it again after second jab"
You dont have to hand the card over, you can keep it and if you were to laminate it, it may just look official enough to fool some unsuspecting gendarme until such time that something more official is available.

Slight dusting of snow, but very very cold, took a detour on my bike via beach to get newspaper, the hardy swimmers were in the Solent a couple just in bathers

, all women, but they do all have those very nice dry robes to wrap up warm in, they all seem to have camper vans as well, must be something about camper vans & women

Rufs, I don't wish to know that !! Kindly leave the Forum

Slightest of skitterings of white stuff, yeuk ! But Oh so very cold like the rest of you, hate it when the daily paper is affected by my sh-sh-shivering. Still I am enjoying the third replay of the First Test in Chennai, 227 runs clear of India -- but beware of the Tigers biting back !

Snowed most of the night so we have significant amount of snow. OH going out to clear paths I might go and clear the car just incase we get a call to get the jab today.
Shopping will be needed at some point, will give it awhile for them to clear the roads.
Once all that's done I guess it will be back to the knitting machine.
Stay safe folks, watch out for the black ice we don't want broken bones.

Ventured briefly outside to brush a dusting of snow off the MH solar panel then scuttled back indoors. Have to wait in for a new back gate delivery from Wickes. No real hardship as I have an inflamed achilles tendon atm so am disinclined to go for my usual walks.

Disappointed in you TG and KjellNN, living in Scotland and you both have to go out shopping after a significant snow fall, we used to have enough supplies for 1 /2 weeks even though most of the roads were cleared by the farmers who were all provided with a snow plough that would fit on the front of a tractor and they were paid for their efforts, most we ever had to endure was a 4 day lock down, mainly as a result of gale force winds blowing the stuff into the lane quicker than the JCB could shift it, but it was something you just learnt to live with, even the frequent power cuts became part of life, we had a wood burner and a petrol generator in the garage.

Snow during the night, about 2 cm but a now lovely sunny day! It was supposed to be heavy snow but that has changed to light snow showers and heavy snow tomorrow. Once out of the estate all roads clear.

When I lived in Sheffield ,when winter months were imminent , I think the majority out of the city centre ,made sure that a stock of essential food non perishable food stuff was kept
winter of 1968 was one of the worst I remember, Woodhead pass was blocked for several days at one point, and the Buses to the outskirts , were only guaranteed to get through on a Thursday(payday)when those using them all took a shovel with them
The trains from Sheffield Victoria were stocked with basic food stuff to drop off at the stations and Hamlets on the route to Manchester, add staff on the.trains in case of deep snow, blown off the moors on to the line, there was a parcels van attached between the loco and first carriage that also had bales of hay for sheep on the moors ,it was quite delayed journeys

Not many is the possible answer.😁 Sheffield can certainly have very deep snow at times.
Its actually a beautiful Winter’s day here, we got away light in terms of snow, but it is very very cold. Early dog walk for us, then off to dentists for our check up.......
........only to find I had got the day wrong🤣 Our appointments are for tomorrow. I blame the lockdown, no idea what day it is.....😂

We had far worse than that when I grew up in Norway, but not much in the way of roads to clear as our only connection with the outside world was by boat, and we had no car, just a horse!
Ordinarily we would have stocked up due to the forecast, but we are going out much less at the moment. The "essentials" required are only milk (we cannot stand the UHT stuff) and orange juice, we have plenty in the freezers and bake our own bread.
Transport not required for fetching a carton of milk, I can see our local Lidl and Farmfoods from our balcony, but we had planned a larger shop, so will take the Touareg.......it has winter tyres fitted.

Heavy snow here all night and still snowing this morning quite deep lying which is unusual for us as we are right on the coast it doesn’t tend to lie. Sun is out now though so it is melting cold outside today though so won’t be going out far. Got a few more sites booked for May and June booking early as all indications are that sites are going to be pretty busy as soon as they are allowed to open.
SWMBO has just received her blue envelope inviting her to book a vaccine appointment she is just about to turn 66) (don’t tell her I revealed that) hehe so they must now be on to the next age group on the list

Thank goodness I'm not alone on knowing what day it is. Not got the wrong date like that takethedogalong 🤣. Mind you I put the appointments on my phone and that shouts at me!
Still snowing here, goes from small flakes to large flakes and varies in heaviness. Very briefly paused and saw a yellow thing, far too briefly, but to heavy small flakes.
Found I lost an ice grip so interesting gait on this mornings walk - they definitely make a difference, even the dog slid a few times on 4 legs 😱.
We have a Tesco's delivery tomorrow, but having grown up in the country I keep a good stock cupboard.
Some folk(s) set fire to 2 x 5g masts and green cabinets n the early hours of the Sunday before last, much damage no broadband for 4 schools and the college but no online orders for the Sunday delivery or click and collect for Tesco 😱. I understand broadband is back but affected lots of homes to. Really not funny and must have cost a fortune, BT Van's in double figures lots of days to get it sort.

Rufs, we have 2 freezers full of food and well stocked cupboards. Having lived in rural north Germany for 20 years and Scotland for 30 years I am well prepared.
However the oldies that we shop for needed supplies, we do have a Spar, butcher, chemist and village store so if the roads were bad we could have gone there. The roads are fine so no need to deplete their stock that might be needed by others.
Still no word of our jab yet, we are at the upper end of the over 65s group so should have been one of the first to be called. Doesn't seem to be working like that though, as we know of plenty of folk at the bottom of that age group who have had there jab over the last 4 days. None of them got letters just a phone call to say attend at -------.
Snow has stopped here for the time being although we have an amber warning for lots more up until 9pm tonight.
The sun was shining earlier really warm to if stood by the windows, solar panels of couse are covered in snow

I am terrible at getting dates right, even if I've marked them up or written them down. We got dressed up for the theatre once only to find it was closed...the worst was when I lead the family into a panto half an hour late, my uncle never forgave me for the comments towards us from the stage!

I'm reading the comments about the snow, we got down to -15C once when we lived near the Cairngorms and it was impossible to breathe in the fine powdery blizzard conditions. We never went out with less than three layers on but we never had mud either, I think I prefer frozen ground sometimes.

Mind how you go everyone and stay warm.

KJ - You are in fact right I have just checked with her the date given in the letter was for this Saturday I just assumed that she had to book it herself but no she has been given the date in the letter to attend our local community centre to get it done.

Like everywhere else it's blooming cold but at least no snow here.
Have the roofers in sorting out guttering and holes in roof. Both of us drove our cars to drop MrsWNs off for service and MoT. New timing belt needed. Aagh, will the pain never end???? Oh well, it wasn't earning much sitting in the bank.
Have to do a supermarket sweep tonight. Mrs WN nipped into Sainsbury near Cheshire Oaks, by the Chester club site, for 3 things we can't get locally. She reported back that it looked like their shelves hadn't been refilled since Christmas such was the paucity of goods on them. One of the staff said they were having difficulties getting full deliveries. Time to start the hoarding folks.😂
Keep out of idiots ways one and all.

Thanks Francis.
We currently have a white out
when it snows here it snows. We always get it worse when it comes from the East as there is no big hills to catch it.WN, not seen any evidence of shortages up here yet, although we don't use Sainsburys.

I have noticed a shortage of cat food when doing my online order recently but most other things have been OK.
It was my turn on duty at the Cathedral today. 15 people in during the 2 hours so well worth opening. We now have rules from Elf and Safety. We have to clean and sanitise all surfaces - door handles, (although doors are open so handles not usually touched), chairs and desks. We have always done that since the beginning of the pandemic but now we have to fill in a chart with times, items cleaned and sign it. We feel a bit like a motorway service station toilet!
Light snow showers all day today but it hasn't settled. I have just looked at the BBC weather app and it says heavy snow for tomorrow. It is bitterly cold.
