I don’t do siestas R, I need to be tired, tired I ain’t these days🤷🏻‍♂️. I’m always sniffing out good home baked goods, my Wife no longer bakes these things☹️. I’m greedy apparently plus she thinks stuffing mince pies in my mouth whilst still sizzling is dangerous😱🙄

Wee Bernie been short changing you again laughing must admit the ones we received are less than useless as any real guarantee that you really have had the vaccination so easy to forge, but it does say on the back of card

"Make sure you keep this record card in your purse or wallet"

so somebody somewhere must have thought this card would be of some value going forward, if it had been possible to produce individual card say with your NHS number encoded in a bar code, then it would possibly have been of more use.

It does give the batch number of the vaccination you had, so i guess if there had been any problems e.g. adverse symptoms they could check back quite quickly if you produced your card.

    Thank yousmile

I was very lucky with the weather. The Cathedral bells were ringing so it was lovely walking across the green.

And the main doors were open -  they normally aren't so perhaps something  special was on?

As far as I was aware, the little card you are given is nothing more than a simple reminder of what vaccine you have had, the date it was given, and the batch number. I have my Mum’s, kept safe for her second jab. All the information was put onto computerised records as well of course. I expect to hand the card over, and never see it again after second jab.

Heavy snow here and its still falling.

Plasterer arrived about 30 mins late full of apologies he couldn't open the boot of his car to get his tools outlaughing

Job all done now and looking good, just needs a couple of days to dry out before we can paint them.

While OH helped out I decided to make more hats, managed 6 today, 3 girls 3 boys. Plasterer ordered one in his football team colours smile

OH heard from one of his 'Mens shed' chums earlier, he got a call this morning to go into Perth for his vaccine. He is younger than both of ussurprised but in the same age range, his surname is one letter before us so maybe they are working that way down the list. If it keeps snowing we may not be able to get in to Perth.

They will have been airing the Knocker Corners😂 You would have been able to grab hold of it and claim Sanctuary if an over zealous Plod had decided your journey wasn’t essential.

🤔Mind.....this is Durham. Not renown for over zealous Plod’s at the moment!😉

Lovely photos, we love wandering around Durham👍

Durham is such a lovely place to visit, we did a house swap there years ago, really enjoyed our stay (the Durham family had a holiday in our Borders home, equally nice!)

We're just hoping the weather holds for our jabs tomorrow, the venue is mostly out in the open and people have to queue outside, brrr...

Well I'm glad we seem to be back on track on this thread.

Busy morning. Down to the recycling centre, taking mucky stuff from the back garden which I was clearing yesterday. Then chemists for prescriptions.

I have to go onto our Macbook in a moment to reply to Scottish Power (energy company not SNP). Wrote a nice email to them yesterday explaining that I was informed not once but twice by call centre employees that, following our sudden switch to them after our energy supplier went bust, we could access their tariff available in December when the dust settled and we had been allocated an account number, only just received.

Not only will they not do it but have addressed me as Mrs.B*** M*****, who?, and quoting the wrong previous energy supplier. Right account number though.

Don't you just love dealing with companies like these?😠😠😠

    Lovely crisp photos CS.

We enjoyed our visit there a couple of years ago. After seeing the history of Venerable Bede at Jarrow it rounded it all off seeing where he is interred, as well as St.Wilfred.

I took Fliss today. There were 8 in front queuing to go in outside the venue. She queued outside for 5 minutes and was back in the car within 30 mins having sat inside for 15 ins after the injection

Corners, throughout this pandemic whenever Peterborough Cathedral is open (only 2 hours a day for private prayer at the moment) the main doors are left open as it makes sure the building has plenty of air and also they dont want people constantly touching the doors as they would have to be thoroughly cleaned each time. Durham are lucky to be able to ring their bells. Bell ringing has had to stop for the time being here as not enough room for social distancing ☹

OH has had both his jabs and still has his card. I have laminated it now they have finished with it so hopefully it wont get too tatty.

KjellNN it was announced on BBC news just now that all those over 70 who have not yet had their jab invitation should ring 119 to make an appointment or go on NHS website.

Snowed all day here, very small flakes, bitterly cold thankfully no wind. Treacherous on the pavements I set out this morning without my ice grippers, I had got them out but decided as it was fresh snow it would be fine. Got about 20 houses up having slid a few times returned home and put them on! Much safer. Dora is shattered, she loves the snow and I walked a total of 7 miles with her over a couple of walks, too unsafe to allow OH out 😱😱, goodness knows how far she ran. Blooming snowballs in her fur are a pain!

Fed the birds several times on the patio and very grateful they were too. Topped up all the hanging feeders, lots of sparrows have returned 😀 didn't see many starlings but may not had been looking at the right time.

Oh to hear church/cathedral bells again 😢

Lovely photos cornersteady. We love the area and Jarrow.

Made a really good toad in the hole for dinner. I have jar of mincemeat to use but don't want to make dusty mess in the kitchen 😉. I made 2 Dundee cakes, but couldn't pass one to son and so one remains. OH doesnt like them and I can't eat 2nd one myself - yet. Any use Rocky?

Good luck Wherenext nothing is ever straightforward whatever they tell you

Out in the garden today, very cold but managed a couple of hours. Cut lots back, filled the green bin. Then, as snow flakes falling, came in. Then another cut back, hair this time, very difficult to cut the back and hold the mirror. OH offered to help but with pudding basin in hand, so I declined!

I heard that on the news this evening too, and on Friday our Chief Medical Officer said something similar, so on Friday evening I did ring the number given for Scotland  (the same one I rang earlier in the week), they knew nothing about this advice.

They were supposed to take details to pass on to be investigated, but would not.   The FM also said on Friday and again today to contact her office if one had a problem, so OH e mailed her on Friday, but is  yet to get a reply.

She has also exchanged several e mails with the office of our MSP, this is the latest reply.......

" The target date for all over 70s is mid-February and they are being administered as the surgeries get their quantity of vaccine, all the information we have is that they are on track to meet this target.

GP practices are aiming to complete vaccination in this age group over the coming days. There is a recognition that a higher proportion of the 75 to 80 age group may have underlying conditions and it’s better that they will be taken care of by local surgery to avoid them travelling long distance. "

No mention of the fact that they are not keeping to the laid down order of vaccinating the age groups.

The local vaccination centre that OH was at must be all of 1 minute longer to drive to than our GP's surgery, and that is a 5 minute drive from home.

Obviously our GP has insufficient or no vaccine, and they are not the only surgery in this situation, while 4 miles away at the Louisa Jordan in Glasgow they are now vaccinating the over 65s.

Lovely sunny day at home with just an odd short snow flurry, although bitterly cold when we were directly in the wind, but there was plenty of shelter from it on our walks out.

Millie, your OH was fortunate in getting both doses of the vaccine already, how long was it between the first and second jab, if you don't mind me asking?

Evening All  frown  Had a 'orrid day t'day cry  Did a bit of shopping in Soupermarket (£££), then tried helping neighbour find his favoured running shoes but only got a couple pairs of his OH's preferred variety. Sulked, amongst other things,  then checked t'other variety of mail.
